JUSTIN BIEBER – YUMMY

Grammy-winning global superstar Justin Bieber delivers a Christmas Eve gift to his fans today with the announcement of his brand new single “Yummy” arriving on Friday, January 3rd, the first advance track from his forthcoming 2020 studio album. Today, in a special Super Trailer, Justin also announces a slate of 2020 tour dates across North America, launching in Seattle on May 14th. (Tour dates below)

Over the course of his career, Bieber has amassed more 50 billion streams and more than 60 million album equivalents worldwide. Justin’s Grammy-winning 2015 album PURPOSE has sold over 21 million copies worldwide.

As he looks ahead to the 2020 arrival of his 5th studio album, Bieber is once again ruling the airwaves and dominating the charts, as his recent collaboration with Ed Sheeran “I Don’t Care” hit #1 in 26 countries worldwide, Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” – with a little help from a Bieber remix – reached #1 in the US, and “10,000 Hours” with Dan + Shay became the highest charting debut for a country song in the history of the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2017, the Justin-led global smash “Despacito Remix” broke streaming records and became the most-viewed video of all time. Justin made chart history with “Despacito” and the DJ Khaled-collaboration “I’m The One” as the first artist ever to tally new No. 1s on the Hot 100 in consecutive weeks, Bieber’s fourth and fifth No. 1 singles.

Purpose debuted at #1 in over 100 countries around the world, and garnered a 2016 Grammy nomination for Album Of The Year. Purpose shattered global streaming records and yielded three consecutive #1 singles in the US – “What Do You Mean,” “Sorry,” and “Love Yourself,” which received a Grammy nomination for Record Of The Year. In late 2015, all three tracks landed at #1, #2 and #3 on the UK singles chart, surpassing a record previously held by the Beatles and making Justin the first artist ever to accomplish such a feat. In February 2016, Justin won his first Grammy: Best Dance Song for the Purpose track “Where Are You Now.”

Justin Bieber, whose career launched in 2009, with the RIAA 5x-platinum worldwide hit “One Time,” is the first artist to reach over 10 billion views on VEVO. In 2014, he was ranked by Twitter as the #1 most tweeted about musical artist of the year. He has released five #1 albums to-date, and has starred in two films: Never Say Never (2011) and Believe (2013). In 2011, he was nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy. In 2013, Justin received the RIAA Diamond award in recognition of his 2010 single “Baby” (12x-platinum in the U.S. alone) as the best-selling digital single of all-time.

Silver Bells

“Silver Bells,” featuring the dynamic trio made up of multi-platinum GRAMMY® winners Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith, along with Marc Martel, takes the No. 1 spot at national Christian radio this week. The reimagined version of the 1951 Christmas classic climbed to the top of Billboard’s Monitored AC and Mediabase AC Christian charts.  In addition, the track was the number one most added AC song three weeks straight, with nearly 90 stations playing the single, and has the biggest audience for a new Christmas song. Check out the exclusive premieres for “Silver Bells” on People.com (video) and Parade (audio) magazine.

“We had so much fun recording ‘Silver Bells’ and being able to perform it live together during the Christmas tour has been extra special,” says Smith. “For the song to go No. 1 as well, that’s just something we never expected but sure are grateful for, and are so happy the fans are enjoying it too.”

“I haven’t had this experience in ten years,” adds Grant. “What a fun way to end the decade with a No. 1 song recorded with two friends.”

“What a mind-blowing honor, not only to have the chance to record with Amy and Michael, but to also have that song reach No. 1,” says Martel. “This is my first, and what a perfect end to an amazing year!”

In addition, Grant and Smith recently reunited to co-bill their popular Christmas circuit this holiday season. Joined by special guest Martel, the multi-city tour was presented by Balsam Hill® and showcased selections spanning the artists’ expansive repertoires and combined the vast collection of critically acclaimed holiday albums between them.

ABOUT AMY GRANT

Amy Grant’s career spans more than 40 years and stretches from her roots in gospel into becoming an iconic pop star, songwriter, television personality and philanthropist. With three multi-platinum albums, six platinum albums and four gold albums, her total career album sales have exceeded 30 million. Grant’s chart success has been consistent throughout her career with six No. 1 hits, 10 Top 40 pop singles, 17 Top 40 Adult Contemporary tracks and multiple Contemporary Christian chart-toppers. In addition to her six GRAMMY® Awards, Grant has earned 26 Dove Awards (including four Artist of the Year Awards) and has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as the Music City Walk of Fame. Conventional wisdom has it that Grant put Contemporary Christian Music on the map becoming the first Contemporary Christian artist to have a platinum record, the first to hit No. 1 on the Pop charts and the first to perform at the GRAMMY® Awards. With that, her legacy as one of the most influential artists of the past four decades is assured. In April of 2016, Grant celebrated the 25th anniversary of her iconic hit “Baby Baby” with a worldwide release of the song featuring pop sensation Tori Kelly. “Tennessee Christmas” released in late 2016, marking Grant’s first all-new holiday album in nearly 20 years.

CITY MORGUE VOL 2

Hikari-Ultra/Republic Records duo City Morgue debuts at number one on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart and in the top 20 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart today with their new album CITY MORGUE VOL 2: AS GOOD AS DEAD.Despite being in the rock categories on all of the digital service platforms and number one on the Apple Music Rock Albums chart, Billboard went in a different direction, placing it on their urban genre chart.

Impressively generating over two million total streams in under two weeks, the pair—SosMula and ZillaKami—launch a full-scale infiltration of both the rock and hip hop marketplace with this culture-splitting album. These two urban kids from a new generation are making waves to bring new life to rock music, with a hip-hop touch.

The 17-track album is executive produced by legendary producer Mike Dean andfeatures their previously released single “THE BALLOONS.” On the album, the duo spin gothic hood tales, harking back to timeless East Coast hip-hop—yet sharpened by their signature dark metallic edge. New York’s most notorious duo flex their storytelling like never before and hint at a deeper, darker and deadlier narrative. The duo partnered with Bravado to create exclusive merch surrounding the release of their new album that sold out in three days and collaborated with A$AP Bari’sVLONE to create t-shirts, sweatshirts, bandanas and more that sold out in 72 hours.

The melding of Rock and Rap is a concept that’s existed within the underbelly of music for decades, yet few have done what City Morgue is doing. When upstarts SosMula and ZillaKami come together, their fusion is seamless—oozing true skill with a reckless lack of fucks left to give. On the supergroup’s debut mixtape City Morgue Vol. 1: Hell or High Water, the dynamic duo delivered a new and exciting vibe for any fan of true music—from hip-hop to metal. They will continue this movement on their second album CITY MORGUE VOL 2: AS GOOD AS DEAD. Their music is an experience anyone can appreciate and shows what happens when two worlds meet to form an entirely new planet. The Hikari-Ultra/Republic Records signees have already shown a significant track record of hits in a relatively short amount of time, and it won’t stop there. The duo also dominates the merch scene, with countless sold out exclusive collections. Most recently, the pair teamed up with famed illustrator Mark Riddick and creative director Joe Perez for merch that sold out in 24 hours. Stay tuned for more merch announcements.

Illenium – Pechanga Arena

By Michelle Pisnoy × Vaughn Lowery

On December 6, 2019, Nick Miller, best known for his stage name Illenium, played Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California as a percentage of his “Ascend” Tour. From the visuals to the operation itself, Illenium put on a life-changing show.

Walking inside the sports stadium, there was a storm of people wearing Illenium’s baseball jerseys and if they weren’t wearing it, they were standing in line about to buy one. The floor seats were packed in with fans crying and waiting for Illenium to come on stage.

Finally, Illenium came out playing his guitar, with a flaming phoenix in the background, which added to the singularity of the performance. The production of the show was incredible. The performace had everything you could ask for, and more. From the pyrotechnics aspect of the show, where you could feel the rut from the very back of the room and the multiple co2 machine blasts all brought his album to life.

It was nifty to hear him play all of his tracks from “Ascend,” plus a few oldies, which made the crowd go wild and sing even louder than before. His sets kept a pure balance of explosive drops to melodic tunes, which brought fans to tears.

The grand finale of the show was epic, with “Good Things Fall Apart” being played and confetti shooting into the crowd and onto the set. Overall, the performance was not one to overlook.
