Ones-to-watch sibling duo Everyone You Know (EYK) releases their highly anticipated 13 track EP Just For The Times via Sony Music UK/RCA Records. Alongside the release, EYK have also unveiled their new single “There For You” along with the music video which showcases the pairs’ signature genre-bending style, combining brooding late night vibes with uplifting piano house production, topped by Rhys’ soulful vocals.

Just For The Times is a rich embodiment of EYK’s sonic diversity and delves into the pairs’ journey over the last 18-24 months. The project provides a soundtrack to the highs, the lows, the nostalgia, and the pent-up energy over lockdown, skewered in pin-sharp rhymes, layered over precision tooled bedroom beats. Listeners are treated to a dynamic body of work from the mutli-faceted duo which includes 8 new tracks alongside fan favorites such as “Radio”, “Just For The Times,” “When The Sun Comes Up,” “Higher,” and “Charlie.”

Speaking about the release EYK say, “Just for the Times is not just an “EP” but it’s a representation of the lives we and our loved ones have all lived throughout the past 2 years. It’s a project where we’ve really delved deep, thought about carefully and made as honest as possible. We wanted this project to represent our fans too, something everyone can relate to and connect with. It’s ten tracks of emotions that vary from high to low, hope to hopelessness and joy to sadness. The band recently announced they will embark on a 13 date UK headline tour. Kicking things off at The Think Tank, Newcastle on 16th November, the pair will play across cities including Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham and Glasgow, before rounding things off with a huge headline performance at XOYO, London on 4th December which has now sold out! Everyone You Know aka half-brothers Rhys Kirkby-Cox and Harvey Kirkby have had a rapid rise to success in a short space of time, amassing over 100 million worldwide streams, an explosive 15-date sold out UK tour, as well as a UK mainstage festival debut at Reading & Leeds and a stint as UK brand ambassadors for Reebok. Following the release of their #3 acclaimed third album Moral Panic last year, Southend five-piece Nothing But Thieves have released their dark and explorative new single and video Futureproof via Sony Music UK/RCA Records, which was premiered on BBC Radio 1 last night as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World.

Nothing But Thieves are a band that continue to evolve their sound, and new single Futureproof sees them experiment further whilst remaining authentically them. Produced by Richard Costey (Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, Muse) and recorded between London’s RAK Studios and guitarist/keyboardist Dom’s home studio, it is a sinister, dynamic and unpredictable track that examines the meaning of self-preservation through powerful lyrics. The video, directed by Jake Jelicich, sees the band bathed in an auburn glow giving an intense performance that is filmed chaotically, matching the energy and uneasiness of the song. The band say;

“’Futureproof’ is about self-preservation; what that means to different people and the lengths that those people would go to achieve it.

It’s designed to be a guitar rock and hip-hop hybrid. That can be a bit of an eye roller and it’s easy to get wrong, but there’s a parallel between some of our heavier songs and the more aggressive side of hip-hop, which we wanted to try and get at. It’s dark and chromatic and then it’s mixed like a hip-hop track with loud drums and vocals. The idea was to try and explore that territory in the most authentic and fresh way.”

Futureproof follows the singles Is Everybody Going Crazy?, Real Love Song and Impossible released last year from their third album Moral Panic, which achieved over 102 million streams and saw support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Virgin Radio and Radio X alongside winning Best Indie Act at Global Radio’s 2021 Awards. The album was a poignant moral outcry on the world tinged with emotion, anger and hope, which thematically touched on climate change, anxiety around social media, political chaos and an overall desire to switch off. Moral Panic followed their 2018 EP What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way, their 2017 acclaimed album Broken Machine, which charted at #2 in the UK album chart, and their debut self-titled album Nothing But Thieves.

The past few years have been quite a ride for Nothing But Thieves. Amassing over 1 million worldwide album sales and over 907 million worldwide streams, they have built up a loyal and wide following for their impactful alt rock sound, cementing themselves as one of the best current rock bands in the world. Selling 150,000 tickets on their last album campaign, which included a sold-out show at London’s Alexandra Palace and selling out their entire worldwide Broken Machine headline tour, their success has been global.

The band have performed on US TV shows, such as James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel, after their debut became the bestselling debut from a UK rock band in the US in 2015 and played packed out international shows from Poland to Amsterdam, where they headlined an arena to 6,000 fans. After intimately debuting new songs early last year for a BRITs/War Child gig, they were set to tour internationally last Spring, including a show to 6,500 people at Moscow Adrenaline Stadium.

Following 3 livestream performances Live from the Warehouse last year to launch Moral Panic, they are finally bringing songs from the album to live audiences this Autumn with a UK, Ireland and European tour, including their biggest ever headline London show at O2 Arena. Returning to #1 around the world and breaking numerous records, Taylor Swift has made history yet again with Fearless (Taylor’s Version). Notably, she’s the first woman with three new No. 1 albums in less than a year. Moving over 1 million units worldwide, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) logged the “biggest first week debut of any album this year,” “the biggest first week debut for a country album since 2015” and “the biggest female country streaming week ever.” Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is the only No. 1 album of its kind: a re-recording of an artist’s (own or another’s) previously released album.

Generating 50 million-plus streams on release day, it also achieved “the biggest first day streaming debut for any album on Spotify this year” and marked her fourth consecutive album to exceed 50 million Spotify streams in 24 hours. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) also becomes the first country album by a female artist to reach #1 on Apple Music’s US Albums chart.

In addition to capturing #1 on the Billboard Top 200, #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart and #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, it went #1 in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. It debuted Top 5 in Belgium, Norway and the Netherlands and in Germany it was the biggest debut by a country album in the history of Germany’s album chart. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) charted at #1 on the iTunes Top Overall Albums Chart in 61 countries.

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) stands out as Taylor’s 4th #1 album in less than two years with the “3 biggest debuts since July 2020” with folklore, evermore, and Fearless (Taylor’s Version). It also emerges as “the biggest female country album debut since the inception of the Billboard Top 200 album-based conception charts in 2014.” Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is the eleven-time GRAMMY Award-winning, record-breaking superstar’s 9th #1 Album.

Taylor entered rarified air across the pond as Fearless (Taylor’s Version) became her 3^rd album to chart #1 during its debut week in less than a year in the UK. The Beatles had previously accomplished this incredible feat the fastest in 364 days, but Taylor eclipsed the speed of The Fab Four as she reached this benchmark and accumulated three #1’s in just 259 days—a difference of 105 days.

Not only did it become her 7th #1 in the country, but Taylor became “the first and only solo artist ever to claim three UK #1 albums in less than 12 months during the 21st century” and “the first ever international artist and first ever female artist to land three #1 albums in the UK within one year in history.”

Physical sales of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) outsold the remaining combined total physical sales of the UK Top 15. The permanent downloads also bested the remaining combined total permanent downloads of the Top 70. She shattered her own record for the second time in the last year as “the first and only female artist to garner 7 #1 studio albums in the UK this century.” Additionally, she has gathered “the 3rd Most #1 albums in the UK by a female artist.”

Down Under, Taylor is now “the first artist to release three #1 albums in a 12-month period in Australia.” Taylor is the first artist to have three different albums top the ARIA Charts in a twelve-month period. She bests her own record of “the shortest span of #1 albums in Australia” with only 17 weeks between evermore and Fearless (Taylor’s Version). Her previous record was 20 weeks between folklore and evermore. With eight total #1 albums in Australia, she is second for “female artist with most #1 albums” only behind Madonna and just behind Eminem for “most consecutive #1 albums.” At radio, “Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor’s Version)” bows in the Top 10 on the Airplay Chart.
