NIC TAYLOR 1 360 MAGAZINE

Nic Tailor

Nic Tailor is a new custom men’s underwear brand, (customizable online), that is changing the game of the undergarment industry by setting a philanthropic standard. The brand was founded by North Carolina natives Cal Mosack and Nolan Mills, along with Audie Cooper, a former designer for Ralph Lauren, taking the lead on the creative.

The trio sought out to create underwear for men made from high quality fabric, that was uniquely fit to your measurements, alleviating any discomfort or the need to adjust due to movement. In September of last year, Nic Tailor partnered with the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Actor Peter Facinelli, for a campaign to raise awareness for prostate cancer. Images of the actor went viral, making headlines as he stripped down to nothing but a pair of Nic Tailors for the campaign; one that hits particularly close to home for the actor, and a cause he is passionate in spreading awareness for.

Nic Tailor’s efforts to raise awareness continues, with a portion of their sales being directly donated to the prostate cancer foundation.  They also just introduced the Dry Fly brief for men who have battled prostate cancer.

The company explains its premise perfectly on its site: “At one time or another, most guys complain about their underwear,” it states. “It never seems to fit quite right because it’s only available in S-M-L-XL sizes. What about your weight, shape, and well, other measurements? Wouldn’t it be great if there were customized underwear? Well now, we figured, with the customizing capabilities of the internet, we could create underwear that is made to your exact size and shape.” Nic Tailor, short for “tailored knickers,” takes into consideration butt size, groin size…everything that makes people different.

“We felt there was a need for a true custom underwear product that was 100 percent made in the USA,” says Audie Cooper.  “If you’re going to pay for a premium pair of underwear you should not be limited to S, M, L, or XL. Our brand is especially great for the guy who sits for long periods of time, athletes, or those guys who have large buns.”

And with prices ranging between $38 and $51, Cooper notes that customers keep coming back for more. For spring, the brand is working on a traditional boxer product versus the boxer briefs it sells now. Cooper also says he is working on developing a new fabric that will allow the brand to offer more color selection and prints.

Q×A with Jamaine Ortiz

Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz, an up and coming, 23-year-old boxer, is making his name in the world of boxing. After growing up in Worcester, Massachusetts, the young boxer turned pro in 2016. His amateur record is 100-14 and he has already won many awards for his skill.

During the recent Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. fight that was shown on pay-per-view, Ortiz was victorious over Sulaiman Segawa of Silver Spring, Maryland. After scoring a technical knockout in the last 10 seconds of the seventh round, Ortiz gained the WBC USNBC Silver lightweight title. This was his first fight outside of New England and he certainly made himself known in the fighting community. After winning this fight, Ortiz jumped from 76th to 44th in the world for the lightweight division. If he keeps winning, Ortiz is predicted to fight for a major world title by late 2021.

360 Magazine sat down with Ortiz to ask him questions about his professional career, personal life and future.

What was your upbringing like? Was there always a focus on athletics?

I started boxing at seven years old, and I was always an athletic kid, playing sports and outside.

Where did you learn to box?

I learned how to box at the Boys & Girls Club of Ionic Ave.

Why boxing?

I use to get into fights as a kid, I like that its a one on one sport I don’t have to rely on anyone. Over time, I noticed I was winning a lot and kept it going.

Who are your role models, boxing or otherwise?

My role model was my coach Carlos Garcia.

You’re currently the Undefeated World Boxing Youth World lightweight champion. What does this accomplishment mean to you?

I’m actually the former Youth World lightweight champion due to my age since I turned 24 last April, currently, I hold the WBC USNBC Silver lightweight title. The accomplishment is just a stepping stone, I have far more to go and I understand its a process and this is part of the process.

Your nickname is ‘The Technician’ where does this come from?

A technician is a person skilled in an art or craft by dictionary standards and when it comes to boxing, and me being a carpenter, I’m now an active trader. It was a perfect fit since everything I do, including things in my personal life, I’m technical about it. So it’s a name that reflects more than just boxing.

You’ve been boxing competitively for more than a decade. How have you evolved during that time, technique-wise and also personally?

Time is the mother of greatness, practicing repeatedly overtime is only natural; I’m going to get better.

How has your career been impacted by COVID-19 and 2020?

Luckily I was able to get a fight right before the impact of covid came I didn’t get to fight as much as I normally would. I probably would have had about 4 fights in a year but I had two with the last one being a great exposure bout.

Tell us about your interests outside of boxing.

I enjoy nature and I spend most of my time with family. Always working on self-development, a lot of stocks, and trying to find real estate deals.

Do you still have Olympic aspirations? What are your future boxing goals?

Olympics of boxing is an amateur sport but recently I think in 2016, they allowed pros to compete but it is heavily dominated by amateurs. In the next year, I see myself becoming World Champion at the lightweight Division and reaching for that pound for pound list.

What is your go-to move in a fight?

Not sure, probably switching from orthodox to southpaw.

What makes you unique as a boxer?

My ability to switch stances easily and my technique.

DickPrint has the Best Gift for National Boyfriend Day

As a society, we love to celebrate the important people in our life and those things we enjoy the most. For that reason, we have a national day for most everything. From fries and pie to our parents and significant others. We have so many special dates, there is a website to help you keep track of those things and people you want to celebrate: National Day Calendar.

This October 3rd is National Boyfriend Day to “recognize the sweetheart in your life.” People usually celebrate this day by gifting their boyfriends any items they would enjoy. In 2020, you should consider buying your boyfriend premium underwear, swimwear, or t-shirts from DickPrint, the brand that encourages every man to become as desirable as he wants to feel.

When DickPrint was founded, they had three very special motivators to create a high-quality menswear brand that would stand out from the rest. The first one was to create premium high-performance clothing for men. How are they doing this? By designing products made out of premium performance fabrics that are more comfortable, longer lasting, and better for maintaining your manhood.

The second motivator was to empower men to feel sexy and confident. Clothing can be empowering every time you wear something you feel makes you look good. DickPrint’s goal is to design outfits to help men feel sexy and at the top of their game. They want you to “stop wasting money and mojo on cheap clothing that does not last and that you are not proud to wear.”

Last but not least, they are looking to inspire men to greatness through their own actions. Their main goal is men to be desirable, have manners, and live an exciting successful life. So, what would be better than gifting your boyfriend clothes that will help him feel confident and sexy while making him look good? It sounds like the perfect gift!

For this occasion, you can buy your man one of their sexy underwear options to keep their sweaty parts cool day and night. Their boxer briefs come in different sizes and colors to fit what your boyfriend likes. Or you could buy him one of DickPrint’s soft, flexible, and board swimming shorts. Those come in black, but also in fun and vibrant colors like orange and red. And if your boyfriend is more into t-shirts, they have four different designs. These are soft, breathable, classic cuts that fit perfectly and make bold statements.

DickPrint is a brand that believes in the power of men to be great. For them, the best kind of man is one who is a gentleman who does not succeed through the arrogant, sexist, racist use of force. They represent the men who are confident and respectful. The ones who are sexy and have manners. This is exactly why they should be your first gift option on this National Boyfriend Day. Buy your boyfriend a piece of clothing that will empower him, give him confidence, and push him to be the best version of himself. What are you waiting for? Which item will you buy for him?

The Most Exciting Fighters in UFC 2019

By 2019, almost everybody knows the big names in UFC like Conor McGregor and Rhonda Rousey. McGregor became infamous across the globe when he stepped into the ring with pro boxer Floyd Mayweather and stayed in the public eye due to his character, charm and fearless conduct in the octagon. Rousey is known as the best female athlete of our time for her career, which spans not only UFC, but also Olympic judo and, most recently, WWE. But with McGregor, Rousey and other champions retired from the sport, who are the up-and-coming faces to watch out for in UFC today?

UFC’s growing popularity across the globe means that everybody wants a piece of the action; fans of different competitive sports are getting on board, drawn by the excitement and fast pace of the fights. Here we’ve put together a list of some of the most exciting fighters to keep an eye on in 2019 and beyond, so that you, too, can partake in the experience.

Paulo Costa

Brazilian bullet Costa is on the up and up this year, with his fight against ‘Soldier of God’ Yoel Romero penned in for the 17th of August. He currently stands undefeated with a 12-strong pro fight win streak, although it remains to be seen whether he can maintain this strong stance at what will be his fifth fight in the UFC. After some controversy about the intravenous use of permitted substances led to a 6-month ban in 2018, he must be ready and raring to get back into the octagon later this year.

Tatiana Suarez

Another undefeated fighter, Suarez is poised to snatch the crown sometime soon. She is one tough cookie; having survived the thyroid cancer that put a stop to her Olympic wrestling career, she has since gone on to have an impressive UFC career thus far. Her next fight will happen in June, and it will be against experienced fellow strawweight division fighter, Nina Ansaroff. Suarez’s defining feature is her awesome strength, and it looks like this rare ability is set to carry her far in the UFC. One thing’s for sure: She’s got the great stats to back her up.

Israel Adesanya

It’s safe to say that all eyes are currently on Adesanya for the middleweight title. This powerful contender is enjoying an unbroken 16-win run and is showing no signs of slowing down. His kickboxing background serves him well, highlighted by his brutal victory over Kelvin Gastelum just a few weeks ago. Fans wait with bated breath to see just how far Adesanya can carry this winning streak—will it be all the way to the top? Many say that ‘The Last Stylebender’ has this in the bag already.

Molly McCann

Brand newcomer McCann enjoyed a hard-won victory earlier this year when she went up against Priscila Cachoeira and walked away a winner. Despite a nasty-looking eye injury, McCann persevered to become the first English female fighter to see success at the UFC. Soon she’ll head stateside to go up against the ‘Violence Queen’ Ariane Lipski in a chance to show us all what she’s really made of away from her home turf. So far, she certainly has the personal determination and the loyal backing from fellow Liverpudlians that could be what she needs to succeed.

Dominick Reyes

Light heavyweight contender Reyes is here to shake things up. He has an 11-fight win streak at the moment and looks confident heading into his next bout of training. Nicknamed ‘The Devastator’ due to the monumental force of his kicks, Reyes’ sunny demeanour belies a hidden beast that could challenge the title. With his aggressive approach inside the octagon, it’s clear to see that Reyes is here to make himself known and take home the belt. It will certainly be interesting to see which direction this fresh-faced fighter takes as his star grows brighter.

#FightForIt

On Tuesday, February 27th, Chivas Regal joined Gennady “GGG” Golovkin at LA Live, as he discussed his highly-anticipated rematch against Canelo Alvarez. GGG looks to get back in the ring for the May 5th bout, after joining forces with the Chivas Fight Club, an initiative launched back in July to inspire individuals from communities nationwide.

The Chivas Fight Club initiative was introduced to inspire a new generation to #FightForIt while making a positive impact – much like the spirit of GGG. As part of their membership, users can gain access to exclusive inspirational videos, interviews and more.
