Bridging the GAP

By Armon Hayes × Emily Bunn

Hip-hop icon and culture curator Kanye West announces his 10 year collaboration yesterday with America’s sweetheart brand GAP. Identified as the #WestDayEver, Kanye’s tweet comes as a major displacement in the fashion industry which no one expected. A media frenzy reminiscent of Beyoncé’s Adidas × Ivy Park collaboration as well as Rihanna x Puma is verified for lines of anticipation forming now set to release 2021.

Offerings include men, women, children and possibly home. It’s premature to speculate on design details; however, fans can assume chique yet simple urban duds shared by both Yeezy and the GAP. The household name established in 1969 proves its resilience and continues to reinvent itself. At a time where diversity and equality is at the cutting edge of pop culture, the GAP boardroom is no stranger to utilizing their voice for justice.

According to CNN, on the day of the announcement GAP’s stocks have significantly increased.

Today, Kanye dropped the first piece of merchandise from the collaboration: the Yeezy “Round Jacket.” The cobalt blue puffer jacket was revealed on Gap’s Instagram when they posted a caption-less, silent video showcasing the garment.

The jacket is also being highlighted in various locations across Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago. At four separate locations in all three cities, floating projections of the jacket are displayed.

Shoppers can pre-order the stylish jacket for fall HERE. Currently, the garment is sold out on GAP’s website, and is only available to customers in the US.

Further, today marks Kanye‘s 44th birthday! Surely, the successful release of the Yeezy “Round Jacket” is a birthday gift for both Kanye and his fans.

Marshmellow, Halsey, 360 MAGAZINE

MARSHMELLO × HALSEY

Marshmello and Halsey shared the official video for their hit single, “Be Kind.” Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who also helmed Halsey’s “Nightmare” and “Alone” clips, the contemporary dance video takes viewers to three distinct worlds. View the video, which received a YouTube premiere earlier today, HERE. Filming a dance video during quarantine presented challenges, but Halsey learned the choreography on Facetime and did her own makeup, as always.

“Be Kind” is a worldwide hit across the boards – on playlists (with both artists appearing most recently on the cover of Apple Music’s “Today’s Hits”), at radio, on Shazam and elsewhere. Since its release last month, the song has amassed more than 175 million combined global streams. Get “Be Kind” at http://bekindxx.com/. The Jacques Lu Cont remix was released yesterday and can be heard HERE. Surf Mesa, fresh off his global hit “ily (i love you baby)” feat. Emilee, has also remixed “Be Kind.” Listen HERE.

“Be Kind” is the latest song offered from Marshmello, who is coming off a strong 2019 with 6x Platinum “Happier” with Bastille – also released by Astralwerks – plus 4x Platinum “Silence” with Khalid.

Halsey kicked off 2020 with the release of her new album, Manic, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Current Albums chart and has been certified Platinum in numerous countries, including the U.S. It contains the 7x Platinum “Without Me” – the most-played song of 2019 at U.S. radio and the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit by a female artist of this century – and the Platinum hits “Graveyard” and “You Should Be Sad.”

Notorious BigKlit

‘The epitome of an angry bird’ – 360

Provocative rap sensation BigKlit has announced a special new edition of her infamous 2019 LP, KLITORIUS B.I.G. The album – which includes a number of previously deleted tracks – is available today via ROT$ WORLDWIDE/RECORDS/The Orchard. KLITORIUS B.I.G. features the return of such long-unavailable fan favorites as “FaceFuk,” available now at all DSPs; the track is joined by a companion video, premiering exclusively via YouTube.

With its snarling vocal delivery, intense production, and wildly audacious lyrics, KLITORIUS B.I.G. marks one of the first highlights of what has proven a truly incendiary run from BigKlit. The project was recorded soon after her arrival in New York City, informed by grit, heart, and an insatiable hunger to create something altogether original and her own.

BigKlit will celebrate the return of KLITORIUS B.I.G. with a livestream release party tonight, June 26, at 8 pm ET. Presented by Brooklyn’s BABY TV, tickets for the event are available on a sliding scale HERE; ticket holders will receive a link and password 30 minutes before the start of the show. Fans purchasing tickets in the 30 minutes leading up to the performance will receive their info in their order confirmation email.

BigKlit made an auspicious debut with last year’s BIG KLITOIRUS EP, followed quickly by the full-length projects. The NYC-based artist quickly caused a worldwide sensation with her breakthrough hit, “Liar.” With its brazenly explicit lyrics and brutal, relentless beats, the track proved one of 2019’s most provocative hits, first blowing up on TikTok before ascending to multiple streaming charts around the world, reaching #1 on the US Viral 50 on two separate occasions. “Liar“ is joined by an age-restricted companion video streaming now via YouTube.

2020 kicked off with the premiere of PSYCHOSIS, a remarkable 30-minute short film directed by @pgdm. “PSYCHOSIS is a dark and dreary fever dream with apocalypse-level anxiety steady throughout,” raved PAPER. “Every song featured in the film hits listeners’ ears like a hallucinogen — they can be deeply disturbing, comforting (‘Beautiful’), or both at once…It’s the type of digi-gothic, post-genre art-making that BigKlit has come to be known for, and her fans are going absolutely nuts over it.”

Last month saw BigKlit teaming up with Universal Music Group/Caroline Distribution recording artist Trippie Redd on a new version of “Beautiful. The track arrived alongside a haunting music video and companion short film, hailed by PAPER as “a work of art that’s unpredictable at every turn…complete with everything you’d likely see in a twisted thriller: lightning, murder, out-of-body experiences and drugs, all with romantic yet eerie songwriting aimed at a subject unaware of their own beauty.” Audiofemme further praised the video and short film, noting that “Beautiful” “embodies the song’s duality with a macabre love story and BDSM imagery. It’s fitting, because shifting the balance of power has been her trademark as a woman in male-dominated rap. By blurring the edges of asserting control or losing it totally, BigKlit remains a provocative artist worth keeping an eye on.”

Buzzing Florida rapper, LPB Poody releases the highly anticipated video for his hit single “Address It” today.

Watch It HERE.

In the visual for his breakout single, hip-hop’s rising star LPB Poody is hanging out in his neighborhood with friends, watching as a new family moves in. While the presumed plot line is that there should be tension between the newcomers and the existing residents, by the end of the video it’s one big party, dispelling the stereotypical myths that are usually presented in this situation. Peppered throughout the video are cuts to TikTok influencers, who’ve helped Poody’s song go viral on the platform with over 3 million videos created and everyone from Jason Derulo to Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B. participating. The track itself has garnered over 14 million global streams and counting.

Ever since setting TikTok on fire with his viral hit “Address It,” LPB Poody has been making waves in hip-hop. The Florida native adopted the prefix LPB for “Light Pole Baby,” marking himself as an illuminating street fixture in his neighborhood just west of Orlando. His early style reflected that reality, as Poody made a strong name for himself on the local circuit before taking to social media with his music. Track after track, Poody honed his craft, though cuts like “Kill The Beat” showed his knack for a potential mainstream takeover. He sealed that fate with “Address It,” clocking in over 14 million streams across digital platforms and landing on Pigeons & Planes Best New Artist of the Month list in May. As Poody readies his debut mixtape, he’s geared to take over the charts.

Jonas Blue, 360 MAGAZINE, EDM

JONAS BLUE × MAX

Acclaimed British producer/songwriter Jonas Blue teams up with U.S. pop sensation MAX on the feel-good summer romance anthem “Naked,” released today alongside an outrageously fun quarantine video. Buy / stream “Naked” HERE. View the official video HERE.

Laden with hooks, infectious melodies and an indelible guitar line, “Naked” reaffirms Jonas’ reputation for producing world-class hits. Ed Drewett (Little Mix, One Direction), and Sam Romans, who helped pen the U.K.’s biggest single of 2019, Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved,” collaborated on the track.

In the scintillating official video, directed by Isaac Rentz (Katy Perry, Mabel, Blink 182), Jonas and MAX are joined by a diverse pool of partygoers, oozing the sexy, liberating attitudes of the song. Steeped in neon and rotoscope animation, the clip was created entirely in lockdown, with a little help from Jonas’ family and MAX’s wife.

Jonas Blue says, “Creating ‘Naked’ was such a magic moment in the studio – it all clicked and flowed so naturally. The song is fun, positive and carefree, but also shows a bit of a seductive side. Having MAX feature on it was the perfect combination. He’s got the soul and swagger to deliver this at the perfect level – capturing every emotion. I couldn’t be more excited to get this one out into the world.”

MAX adds, “I’ve been obsessed with ‘Naked’ since the first time I heard the demo. It was like when I met my dog for the first time and knew I had to tell everyone else to back off, he’s mine! There’s something so infectious about it, and when Jonas asked me to sing it, I was extremely honored to be a part of this incredible song.”

QUINN XCII – SECOND TIME AROUND

Quinn XCII has shared a beautiful new song from his forthcoming album, A Letter To My Younger Self. The raw and tender piano ballad, “Second Time Around,” is one of Quinn XCII’s most revealing songs to date and one he feels is “the most powerful song I’ve ever made.” It’s an honest reflection on past mistakes and a harmony-laced meditation on self-forgiveness. The official video was directed by Blythe Thomas, filmed with a remote team during quarantine in Los Angeles, and brings the vulnerable energy of the song to life with a dark performance of the song from Quinn XCII.

“The idea behind ‘Second Time Around’ is that we always have the chance to start over,” he says. “It’s a song about self-love and it’s very much grounded in my faith, which is something I want to keep exploring in my music going forward.”

“Second Time Around” follows the release of Quinn XCII’s previously-released album tracks “A Letter To My Younger Self” ft. Logic, “Coffee” featuring Marc E. Bassy, “Two 10s” and “Stacy.” A Letter To My Younger Self will release on July 10 via Columbia Records and is available for pre-order now.

Is Kaepernick going to return to the NFL?

With all of the protests on civil injustices and the league backing the black lives matter movement, it’s left many of us wondering, will Kap finally get back in the NFL?

So, will he get another shot? Let’s dissect a few factors that may determine the answer to this question.

He’s Past The Prime Age

Colin Kaepernick is just a little bit on the other side of the ‘right’ age. He’s 32. So, this also means his window of opportunity is closing. He needs to get into the league now … or next season if he wants to have a legitimate chance for success on the field again. Most QBs play their best football at the age of 28. It’s the year they peak, and after, it’s typically a bit downhill from there. That said, it doesn’t mean a 32 or 35-year-old QB is going to play poorly, just that they were probably a little better at 28.

In Kap’s case, he was 28 during his final season, but he peaked when he was 26. In 2105 he had an injury-riddled year that left his stats wanting, and in 2016, he came back and played 12 games but went 1-10 and passed for just 2,241 yards.

The Talent Factor

There is no doubt that Kap is a talented athlete, but people forget that leading up to his civil rights activism and alleged blackballing from the NFL, he had consecutive not-so-great seasons. So, even though I think the league eventually blackballed him, I don’t believe that was the case when all the trouble started. It’s just an opinion based on observation, but I think that initially, he just wasn’t worth the trouble. Because of his performance in the two previous seasons, he was a risky buy. Then you add in the uncertainties surrounding his socio-political stance, and it becomes even more precarious.

With all that said, he was still probably at least a worthy guy to have as a back-up, and I believe it took the league way too long to get on board with how the bulk of their players feel. It’s something that should have been considered and respected a long time ago. Instead, the issues that Kaepernick was bringing to light on a household level were distorted. Instead of, ‘hey, this is a real problem,’ it turned into, ‘anyone who kneels is unAmerican and hates freedom; hates the military.’ The media did a great job of flipping the script and ignoring the real issues.

But where does a guy like Kaepernick fit in the landscape of the NFL now? The odds at SBR say that he’ll play in 2020 are +275, so it’s a moderate dog number, also the favorite time to sign him at the moment are the Ravens:

  • Baltimore Ravens +225
  • Seattle Seahawks +275
  • Houston Texans +400
  • Los Angeles Chargers +450
  • Kansas City Chiefs +600
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +750
  • Minnesota Vikings +800
  • Tennessee Titans +1000
  • Philadelphia Eagles +1200

Team Needs

The last two seasons were really where Kap could have been put to use. There was a severe lack of QB talent in the 2018 season, and the 2019 season saw a fantastic train wreck of injuries. But what about now? 2020 doesn’t have the same QB needs. There have been a couple of decent QB draft years, so there are many QBs right now, but not many starting jobs. Which means, some starters will be playing second-chair, also taking away back-up jobs.

That said, teams like the Bengals and Panthers are still in need of a capable back-up, in my humble opinion. But, is Kap NFL ready? He may be, but is he more prepared than the handfuls of guys who haven’t missed four years?

The Intangible

Colin Kaepernick is a ‘people’s champion’ right now. He has become a folk hero. Brett Favre recently compared Kap to Pat Tillman, who sacrificed his NFL career to join the Army Rangers after 9/11. It’s opposite ends of the spectrum, but both of these people actively stood up for what they believe.

Farve also brought up a good point. Even though Kap is 32, he hasn’t been getting hit over the last four years, so his body will much younger than a typical 32-year-old QB. But more than anything, it’s a chance for the team that signs him to support social justice truly. If a team were to sign, Kap it would garner millions of new fans — it would probably also lose thousands … but who wants racist fans anyhow? So, will Kap return? We’ll have to wait and see.

Things To Consider Before Getting A Psychic Readings Online

The world of the paranormal has been something that we’ve been fascinated with ever since science parted ways with the fascination of the hidden universe, in a favor of the observable universe. When we  think about psychics, we often have this idea in her head that movies have conjured. These movies portray older, often heavily accented women with secret knowledge from another side of the world. Fortunately, regardless of where you are in the world, there are people who are, or claim to be, psychic travelers and mediums to a hidden aspect of this physical world. You can call it: “the spirit world“, the world of “dark matter“, or the force that makes up the majority of the mass and energy in the universe. Whatever it is, the gift to perceive this world is just as real as the equations in the charts of the observable universe.

If you are looking to see a psychic, for whatever reason, there are a few things that you should know prior to going in. Here are some of the top considerations prior to your visit.

Keep and Open Mind

Keeping an open mind is one of the top priorities if you are on the receiving end of a psychic reading. The reason for this is because the hidden world is not about solid, concrete yes’s and no’s. That’s for the world of the observable universe. In the world of energy fields, it’s about possibilities and predilections. The people at Psychics 4 Today know this and employ it in their readings. In fact, every good seeker should know this. When you go in for a reading, it’s about where you are at that very moment, relative to the potential events in your life. When psychics map that out, they’re not telling you any one thing will happen, nor are they giving us all the time. This is because time—as physicists are coming to find, is more malleable. Keeping an open mind means understanding these concepts, and not seeking absolutes.

Good Questions

Just like any consultation, whether it be financial, legal, or spiritual, you cannot expect the person on the receiving end to know exactly what’s going on without an explanation. This is also true with a psychic. Contrary to popular belief, you still have to ask the proper questions. If you go in, arrogant as ever, and ask whether or not you’re going to get a promotion, you’re probably not going to get the answer you want. This is because that promotion is heavily based on, not only the conspiring events in the universe, but your own personal decisions in relation to that. If you come in with the right questions, then you might get the answers that you need.

Mediums and Psychics

There’s a difference between a psychic and a medium. You have to know what it is you’re actually looking for. Now, they can be both, and they’re often very normal people. But in terms of their relationship with the supernatural, some can differ. The media is somebody who, through their own personally crafted technique, access is a communication line between themselves, you, and another person. This person could be alive, missing, or possibly passed on to another plane.

The point is a medium is specific in their goal. A psychic, on the other hand, follows the energy source of individuals to give intuitive information, and possible truths in the future. If you go to a psychic, and ask them to communicate with the dead, you’re probably going to get an odd look in the referral. Same thing goes for meeting up with a medium, and asking about in the future. They’re going to give you that same look and, hopefully, a referral.

Different Psychics

Even within the second community, there are people that specialize in different kinds. Once again, it depends on who is sensitive to different types of energy fields. There are multiple forms of “psychic” ability and technique. Divination is one. The definition is your classic assessment on occult information in the future. Divination is the “classic“ image of a psychic with a crystal ball. As much as the crystal ball may be a good means of anchoring energy sources, ultimately it is not totally necessary. Dowsing is another form and technique. Dowsing is used to find things. Traditionally, it was used as a technique to find water. Back when we didn’t have national irrigation systems finding patches of water was the difference between death and survival. Do you serve supernatural means to find water, has kept people alive for thousands, if not millions of years. Again, dowsing has been used to find the ruins, missing individuals, and hidden personal items.

Be Respectful

There’s something that people like to do when they contact a psychic. They, for some reason, want to test the “credibility“ of the psychic they employed. The thing is, once again, these individuals are dealing with absolutes. You’re not going to find a psychic or medium to give you a yes or no on whether or not you have the correct lottery numbers. They are not going to tell you the driver’s license number of your significant other at home. Honestly, this is just a waste of everybody’s time. It’s advisable not to do so, less you just want to waste your hard-earned money to feel a little better about bringing negative energy to an individual that’s trying to help. That’s just bad business.

Beware of Scammers

Even if we’re dealing with the paranormal, and the supernatural, you should still do your research. There are frogs out there. There are people that will claim to contact your dead mother, and charge you more for more information. There are people that will con you into buying lottery tickets from them. There are individuals who do scam. This is where the Internet comes into play. If you can do your research properly, and only stick to those who have a good rating, you have more chances of not getting emotionally manipulated by somebody who claims to have solid answers.

The world of the supernatural is both mysterious and funny. Yes, it’s not always lighthearted, but there’s no rule that says that it can’t be. What we love about psychics, is anchoring ourselves to that massive energy we cannot see. In the world of physics, this “dark energy“ is an entire field that seems to hold the strings on what we can see. Until we have a means of communicating on that other side using the science of the observable universe, we will always have psychics.
