Evan Giia × Mood Swings

SUMMER TOUR WITH LOUIS THE CHILD KICKS OFF JULY 28 IN AUSTIN

Today, Astralwerks released EVAN GIIA’s new single, “Mood Swings.”  The track’s breezy vibe belies the rollercoaster of emotions she evokes. GIIA co-wrote the song with London-based trio RITUAL, who have collaborated with the likes of Dua Lipa, Little Mix and Avicii, all-star songwriter Georgia Ku and New York-based MEMBA. You can download and stream “Mood Swings” HERE. You can view the visualizer for “Mood Swings” HERE.

GIIA will join Louis The Child on their U.S. amphitheater tour, which will kick off with a two-night stand at Stubbs BBQ in Austin, TX (July 28 & 29). She will also perform at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, at the Breakaway North Carolina Music Festival and at Holy Ship! Wrecked in Tulum, Mexico. See below for itinerary. You can purchase tickets HERE.

“Mood Swings” is the follow-up to “Stay Up,” which was released earlier this year along with a Mynxii White-directed video that took fans on a whirlwind tour of some of GIIA’s favorite nighttime haunts in her hometown of Brooklyn. Praising the exuberant clip, PLNKWIFI said, “EVAN GIIA always seems to be going on the coolest adventures, and hey, her music can easily make someone feel as if they’re on one too!” Her late 2020 single, “tiny life,” was recently heard on MTV’s “Siesta Key.” The track was also tapped for an ESPN college football campaign.

LADYGUNN said, “Opera trained vocalist EVAN GIIA is poised for massive success. She keeps on churning out hip hop hits ready to dominate pop radio.” American Songwriter observed, “Every EVAN GIIA song is a pure exchange of energy, powerful enough to lift the darkest mood…the Brooklyn-based artist brings both raw passion and precision to her vocal performance, endlessly heightening the impact of her sculpted approach to electronic pop.”

Giia made her recording debut on the MEMBA track “Heat of the Moment,” featuring alongside Hoosh. The song was named Single of the Week by BBC Radio 1. Released by ODESZA’S Foreign Family Collective in 2018, GIIA’s breakout single “WESTWORLD” and the accompanying music video propelled her to #1 on Hype Machine. Combined global streams of the song now exceed 20 million. Since the release of “WESTWORLD,” GIIA has been in sessions with Hudson Mohawke, Georgia Ku, Nate Campany, Kyle Shearer, Chris Lyon, OjiVolta, Kate Morgan, CHVRCHES, What So Not, Matias Mora and Larzz.

ABOUT ASTRALWERKS:

Established in 1993 in New York City, Astralwerks was the brainchild of Caroline Records staffers who saw an opportunity for a label focused on the nascent electronic and ambient scene. Now based at the historic Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, Astralwerks has emerged as a modern, artist-first label and the #1 market share leader for dance/electronic music in the U.S. Combining a scalable, independent and global-thinking ethos with the ability to tap into the resources of a major label has enabled Astralwerks to sign such artists as ILLENIUM, Jonas Blue, Alison Wonderland, EDEN, ZHU and Alesso. As a testament to its pioneering approach, Astralwerks has amassed 30 GRAMMY nominations, taken home six GRAMMY Awards and had historic releases from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Swedish House Mafia, Halsey, Porter Robinson, Phoenix, Eric Prydz, Fatboy Slim and many others. The label has also released such massive singles as the 6x Platinum “Happier” by Marshmello + Bastille and FISHER’s “Losing It.”
