DIDDY – GOTTA MOVE ON

Sean “Diddy” Combs soared to the top of the R&B/Hip-Hop media base Airplay chart with his hit song “Gotta Move On” featuring Bryson Tiller making this his first number one hit for LOVE RECORDS. With Gotta Move On hitting number 1, this marks 11 number 1 hits total for Combs.

“Gotta Move On” featuring Bryson Tiller was released in June and is the first single from Diddy’s highly-anticipated new album under his LOVE RECORDS imprint, in partnership with Motown Records. The song paves the way for more music to come, with his new album due top of 2023. The song has 95.8+million streams and the official video directed by Teyana “Spike Tey” Taylor has more than 13 million views on YouTube. 

Additionally, in October, Diddy released a bundle featuring three variations of “Gotta Move On,” which he co-produced with J-Louis, Teddy Walton, RNSOM, SllimWav and Roark Bailey. In addition to the original version of the song, the set includes Queens Remix and the Kings Remix.

  • The Queens Remix features Ashanti, Yung Miami and Bryson Tiller produced by Ron Browz. Every year, Lexus ushers in the holidays with the December to Remember campaign including the familiar jingle, the red bow and the gift-giving moment. This year, the signature red bow returns with a twist in a new spot called “Time Machine.” And, in a holiday first, Lexus is partnering with Sprinkles to make December a bit sweeter with exclusive giveaways at nationwide Sprinkles locations courtesy of Lexus dealers.

In addition, Lexus is bringing back two popular “December to Remember” spots from last year — “Runway” and “Wonderland.”

In its own gift-giving moment, Lexus is treating guests to an exclusive complimentary offer in partnership with Sprinkles at locations nationwide. From Friday, December 2, through Sunday, December 4, red velvet cupcakes will be gifted courtesy of Lexus and its dealers – each of the three days for one hour between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. (also while supplies last).

JUNGLE PLAZA – CRIOLA

In this monumental mural, the artist depicts four Black women in profile, facing each other in a mirrored disposition through a central altarpiece. The scene is completed with snake plants, hummingbirds, and serpents, all popular elements in Afro-Brazilian syncretic religions. This suggestive iconography serves as an expression of spiritual healing: snake plants, for instance, are popular plants in Brazil (commonly referred to as “St. George’s Spade”), believed to be instilled with protective powers against evil, and used in ceremonial blessings.

Acclaimed muralist, Criola, has significant mural paintings in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Paris, and now right here in the Miami Design District. The artist’s display in Jungle Plaza will be her most giant mural outside of Brazil, and her second public work in the US, following “Black Girl Magic” in Las Vegas last year. Her mural, Interdimensional Portal, portrays Afro-Brazilian ancestors in ritualistic performance, accessing ancient forest wisdom for medicinal purposes, and transcending thresholds of knowledge.

NOULA

In honor of Haitian Heritage Month, the Miami Design District‘s latest art exhibition takes place at the Buick Building. NOULA is an exhibition that challenges the idea of Haitian experience and existence. This exhibition brings together contemporary Haitian artists from different parts of the world, who disrupt and confront the negative notion about Haitian culture, societal standards and the perceptions of self-identity in relation to imposed narratives.

About NOULA

NOULA addresses historical and contemporary systemic issues, while using the homeland of Haiti as an example and beacon. This exhibition illuminates the great contributions Haiti has offered throughout history. These artists, in their cultural context, are addressing stereotypes, biases affecting self-perception and the misconception of their own country.

These Haitian artists encourage us to celebrate an emerging cultural exhibition, transforming the Buick Building into an immersive gallery. All from different parts of the world, these artists showcase original art, sculptures, drawings and mixed-media in hopes of sparking new expectations in the world of Haitian art. The exhibition notably features conceptual art from Michaelle Sergile, film projection from Steven Baboun and sculptures from Nico Vorbe. In the spirit of Diasporic engagement, NOULA bridges the gap between classic works from old masters and contemporary masters to the most recent work by contemporary artists. This thematic exhibition displays Haitian Heritage through the lens of today’s most prominent and contemporary Haitian artists.

General Motors recognizes Lawrence Dimmitt III after leading Tampa Bay area Dealership for 50 years

Under Dimmitt’s half-century of leadership, the automobile dealership has won several prestigious awards.

A well-known car dealer in the Tampa Bay area was recognized by General Motors on Wednesday for 50 years at the helm of his family’s Chevrolet Dealership.

“I’m so proud of all we have accomplished over the years at Dimmitt Chevrolet,” said Dimmitt. “I’m proud of our team, both past and present, and I’m grateful to work with some of the best people in the automotive industry. We have built an extremely special company and our growth demonstrates that treating people right results in extraordinary business outcomes.”

In 2016, Dimmitt Chevrolet was recognized by Automotive News and the Tampa Bay Times as one of the Top 100 Places to Work.

A year before that, it was recognized as the 2015 Dealer of the Year.

Dimmitt is also a pillar of the business community in the Tampa Bay area.

Over the years, Lawrence has been involved in other business ventures in real estate and banking and has served on the board for numerous organizations. He is currently serving on the board of directors for Bok Tower Gardens and on the board of the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust.

Lawrence enjoys his volunteer time with The Salvation Army. In the past, he has been a volunteer with numerous organizations including the Clearwater Free Clinic, the Audubon Society, Hunter Blood Center and the local chapter of the National Automotive Safety Council. Lawrence especially enjoyed his time coaching his son Lawrence Hundley Dimmitt IV in the youth soccer league at the Belleair Recreation Center.

Before taking over the dealership, Lawrence, as the 3rd generation GM Dealer, earned a degree in Economic Theory from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He then served in the United States Marine Corps. After that, Lawrence attended Emory University in pursuit of a Masters Degree in Business Administration. But before graduation, he was called home by his father in 1972 to take charge of Dimmitt Chevrolet.

Dimmitt married his high school sweetheart, Genevieve Lykes Dimmitt. He enjoys spending time with his wife, “Vevie” and his three daughters, Mallory, Elizabeth, and Genevieve. Together they enjoy hiking and kayaking. Lawrence and his family enjoy travel both foreign and domestic and believe it is an important way to continue their education in history, art and the environment. In high school Lawrence held a state track record for several years in the 100 yard dash which earned him a place in the Berkeley Preparatory School Athletic Hall of Fame. Lawrence has also run in eight marathons.

Michael Clinton and Hearst announced the formation of a new venture, ROAR forward, a business-to-business intelligence insights and content platform and consumer membership community focused on the new market of “Re-Imagineers.” This new demographic segment of individuals aged 50 and over is redefining the second half of life in their careers, passions and lifestyles. Clinton founded the entity with Hearst as partner and investor; the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

ROAR forward will provide business insights and intelligence to brands and companies through the ROAR Report with proprietary data and research, as well as with bulletins, seminars, workshops, original content and events to shed light on the dynamically changing market demographic of individuals aged 50-plus.

Prior to that, Clinton was executive vice president of Condé Nast Publications, where he oversaw sales and marketing for the company’s 15 national titles, including Vogue, Vanity Fair and Architectural Digest. Before that, he was Condé Nast’s senior vice president of group sales and marketing and spent 10 years at GQ magazine, including six years as publisher. He began his career in media at Fairchild Publications.

Clinton is the founder and president of the nonprofit organization Circle of Generosity. He has served as chairman of the board of the Volunteers of America, as well as on the boards of the Starlight Children’s Foundation and Lifetime Television Network. He also serves as a trustee for the International Center of Photography. In addition, he is the former chairman of the Association of Magazine Media (MPA). Clinton is an avid traveler and photographer and the author of 11 books.

A magna cum laude graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science, Clinton also earned a master’s degree from Pace University’s Lubin Graduate School of Business and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Columbia University. He holds an honorary doctorate from Pace University.
