3 Reasons to Buy a Second-Hand Car Over a Brand-New Vehicle

When you decide to upgrade your car, you have two choices. You can either buy a brand-new vehicle or go for a second-hand option. While there are advantages to purchasing a brand-new car, the benefits of buying a used car are undeniable.

A lot of the time, new cars are expensive to purchase and cost more to insure. With used cars, you can find cheaper options that provide just as many perks and benefits as their newer counterparts.

What is Classed as a Used Car?

A used car refers to a vehicle that has been previously owned and has been driven more than the initial delivery miles. The scope of what is cost as a used car is far and wide.

Used cars may have been owned by just one person and driven under 1000 miles or owned by five different people with a mileage of more than 100,000. Before you purchase a used car from a dealership or private owner, make sure to get a full history of the vehicle and check its total mileage.

Why Should You Buy a Used Car Over a New Car?

While the allure of a sparkling new car is tempting, choosing a used car is often the better option. Below, we’ve covered some of the benefits of buying a previously-owned car over a brand-new one.

  1. Extended Warranty

Brand-new cars come with a 3 to 5-year warranty. If you’re somebody who likes to have financial protection on your vehicle, you may think that a new car is the only option for you.

However, second-hand cars can also be covered by warranty providers. You can get an extended warranty that lasts up to 12 months on your used car when you purchase it from the car dealership. The warranty covers problems with the car battery, suspension, steering, engine, and more.

Whether you are getting a Jeep extended warranty or a policy for a used Toyota coma you’ll have financial support if your car needs repairs in the future.

  1. Lower Price

The most obvious benefit of buying a used car over a brand-new car is the price. For the most part, previously-owned cars are usually much cheaper to buy, especially if they have high mileage.

If you’re looking for the cheapest possible deal when upgrading your car, it’s worth going for a used vehicle to reduce your upfront costs. Plus, insurance and road tax premiums are generally much cheaper for used vehicles.

  1. Better for the Environment

It’s long been known that the manufacturing of brand-new cars has detrimental impacts on the environment. The production of a single car causes the release of up to 35 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the environment, and requires the extraction and use of raw materials and water.

Buying a used car is much better for the environment and is a great way to minimize your carbon footprint as a driver. It does not require the processing of new materials and reduces the amount of carbon dioxide that gets released into the environment.

Alesso releases new music via 360 MAGAZINE

ALESSO × ZARA LARSSON

Global Swedish phenomenon Alesso expands the sonic world of his hit single “Words” featuring fellow Swedish pop star Zara Larsson with a massive “Words” remix package, out now via 10:22PM / Astralwerks. Listen HERE. The blazing EP boasts track reimaginings from Chapter & Verse, Sentinel, Arodes, and Majestic, plus Alesso’s very own VIP remix. The Swedish duo performed “Words” together for the first time at the recent Creamfields festival in the UK. Watch HERE.

Building on the original version of “Words” — a dreamy, progressive house anthem about being afraid to say “I love you” — Alesso’s chosen remixers showcase a variety of styles and sounds. Beyond the previously released Majestic and VIP mixes, UK DJ Chapter & Verse picks up the groove with a bumping tech house take, while Spanish producer Arodes goes for a marathonic house vibe with layers of mellow, sultry percussion. Australian trio Sentinel then get delightfully weird with distorted synths and hard-hitting hooks.

The “Words” remix package follows Alesso’s recent single “In My Feelings,” a seductive yet brooding collaboration with Deniz Koyu. This year, he also released the Sentinel-assisted progressive house anthem “Only You” and “Dark,” a moody and kinetic piece handcrafted for THE BATMAN.

Meanwhile “Words” has already amassed over 135 million streams, charted in over 17 countries, and hit number 1 on U.S. dance radio marking back-to-back number 1s for Alesso following “When I’m Gone.” Recently “Words” debuted on Spotify’s Global 200 chart. Billboard crowned “Words” as the lead song for their “10 New Pop Songs To Get You Through The Week” roundup, ET hailed it one to have on “heavy rotation” and V Magazine called it a “song that is sure to be played at clubs everywhere this summer.” “Words” dropped months after the GRAMMY®-nominated visionary teamed up with Katy Perry for “When I’m Gone,” an irresistibly explosive track that saw him make his Saturday Night Live debut.

Outside of the studio, Alesso is deep into a new multi-year residency at TAO Las Vegas while joining Bad Bunny’s World’s Hottest Tour across multiple North American dates. Tickets are available for purchase HERE.

Hardwell inside 360 MAGAZINE

Hardwell – RND

After months of single drops, Hardwell releases his full REBELS NEVER DIE album.

Stream/Download HERE.

Over six months ago, electronic dance pioneer Hardwell surprised fans around the globe with a return show at Ultra Music Festival in Miami and the announcement of a new album and world tour. Now, following weeks of waterfall releases, Hardwell makes the whole REBELS NEVER DIE album available for fans worldwide to enjoy in its entirety.

As part of the official release, Hardwell also delivers the final single from the album, the title track REBELS NEVER DIE. The track’s arrival in the public domain now positions it as the depth-filled centrepiece of what the entire album is about. The lyrics on the track, “Live life to the fullest, don’t be afraid to die, legends live forever, but rebels never die”, also align with the philosophy behind this new music created by Hardwell. Which is to give 100%, have no fear and be bold in your convictions as an artist – all mantras that Hardwell has held dear throughout his entire career.

Featuring entirely solo material, the arrival of REBELS NEVER DIE ushers in a new era for one of electronic music’s biggest-known stars. Including goosebump-inducing singles like ‘BROKEN MIRROR’,’INTO THE UNKNOWN’, and ‘I FEEL LIKE DANCING’, alongside the seismic club bangers’ GODD’, ‘LASER’ and ‘PACMAN’, fans have been given a chance to dive headfirst into Hardwell’s creative mind.

Hardwell’s sabbatical opened the opportunity to commit more focus in the studio for artist discovery. He used this time to explore complete creative freedom, playing with new ideas and making new music with no real plan. Back to the music he used to listen to as a child, rediscovering his old vinyl collection, Hardwell was inspired to make his new album REBELS NEVER DIE. The result is a solo studio album that combines the music he started with, early hard trance riffs, and the energy of his big room sounds, all built around a techno-esque musical structure. “I hate to be caught up in one particular genre. I always try to make music I love to play out. I don’t consider myself a mainstream artist, techno, or big room artist, I consider myself Hardwell, and this is what Hardwell is. If it’s not a genre, then it’s not a genre; it’s just me.”

Always a leader with a quest to evolve, not repeat. REBELS NEVER DIE marks a critical point in the musical shift for Hardwell’s legacy as one of dance music’s most iconic figures.

2023 Lexus RX car review by Vaughn Lowery inside 360 MAGAZINE

2023 LEXUS RX

Listen to MacKenzie Richter, Lexus Product Marketing chat w/ Vaughn on 360 MAG Apple/Spotify podcast about 2023 Lexus RX HERE.

360 MAGAZINE had an intimate driving commitment at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara with one of the top-selling vehicles in the Lexus fleet. Although 2023 Lexus RX pricing was not announced, exterior colors, trim and powertrains were readily available for testing. After five generations, performance, style and innovation have intermingled in the luxury of the new age with this hot stepper. All in all, we strongly believe the RX F SPORT is the heavyweight candidate for this reboot.

Design

The silhouette of the RX has been redesigned with stylish and sporty lines. To many, at first glance, it is a lean and agile approach. Ready to pounce. Suitable with a grill brooch coupled with jewel headlamps and taillights. The cabin is also marked by embossed patterns on the door panels and headrests of top-of-the-range models. Race-inspired red bucket seats with bespoke like black side panels. Ambient lighting is also available in different models in a variety of color combinations.

Technology

14-inch infotainment screen effortlessly placed on the dashboard for easy use of the driver’s control. This season, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are wireless, making it more intuitive and fluid. Wireless charging stations are larger for the next generation of phablets, in particular the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Z Fold4 flagships. Not forgetting, the inside has USB-C ports sprinkled throughout. Sure, you can head nod to Drake‘s Sticky with its optional Mark Levinson signature speaker set.

Performance

Larger calipers signify better braking. Rear wheel steering is a must-have, especially for parallel parking, snaking roads and u-turns. The ability to displace torque in different ratios also allows the riders to push outside of its previous capabilities.  21″ wheels in tandem with low profile Michelin tire add much needed traction for various terrains. Offered power plants are as follows: RX350 has a 2.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged pushing 275 HP; RX350h possess a 2.4L 4-cylinder with AWD as well as CVT produces 246 HP and RX500h F SPORT matches electric alongside of 2.4L turbocharged to produce 367 HP. Adaptive cruise controls, lane departure paired with civilian detection – excellent for the increase of low-stanched fat tire e-bikes in cities. Just because they have pedals, doesn’t mean they can’t excel beyond 50+ mph.

In short, the Lexus RX cocoon has become a magnificent butterfly with the RX500 F SPORT variant. It literally floats, moves easily within tight spaces, and is sure to cause a stir with transcultural youth. Lastly, a two-row, five-seater SUV with muscles and brains that can survive a hectic Gen Z household.

John Legend New Legend album via 360 Magazine

John Legend – Legend Album

Multi-platinum, 12-time Grammy Award-winner John Legend released his highly anticipated eighth studio album, LEGEND, via Republic Records.  Executive produced by Legend and prolific producer-writer Ryan Tedder (Beyoncé, Adele, et al), the vibrant double album is suffused with an unapologetic spirit of sensuality and joy, informed by the full vulnerability of pain, praise and healing. LEGEND is available to stream/download HERE.

ACT I of the epic double album recalls vividly the worldly, sensual pleasures of Saturday night – full of lust, self, sex and adventure.  It opens with “Rounds”, an immersive joint featuring Rick Ross, an artist with whom Legend has collaborated perhaps more than any other.  Other tracks include the smoldering R&B bedroom romp “Splash” featuring Jhene Aiko and rapper Ty Dolla $ign, “Dope,” a “summery, feel-good track” featuring rapper JID (Rolling Stone) and “Love,” featuring Jazmine Sullivan, whom Legend has known since she was a young artist.  ACT I climaxes in the immediately addictive and utterly uplifting “All She Wanna Do” featuring Saweetie, which Uproxx called a “sexy, dancefloor banger” and Rolling Stone described as a “roller disco jam.”

ACT II evokes the feeling of a Sunday morning, with its focus on healing, intimacy, soulfulness and commitment.  It includes “Honey,” “a sultry, jazz-inspired” R&B track featuring Muni Long (Billboard) and “Wonder Woman,” a touching tribute to the power and grace of all the women in Legend’s life featuring the nostalgic, soulful Dap Kings.  Other tracks on ACT II include “Good,” featuring Ledisi, a tale of intimate healing and the relief that comes with knowing you’re in a relationship with the right person and “Pieces,” a devastatingly beautiful ballad about living with loss and grief.

LEGEND has the feeling of a classic, and yet feels new, representing a fresh start for the artist with record label Republic, and a playful, adventurous feel. At the same time, it asserts its place in the canon of Black art, where honoring one’s ancestral story is as much part of existence as is that love, beauty and joy.

“I never feel divorced from my ancestors,” said Legend. “I have such reverence for my musical heritage, that I don’t feel like I need to leave it behind to be adventurous, or creative, or to try something new. When I’m creating something new, I’m still hearing the voices and influences of Stevie, Marvin, Curtis, Aretha, Nina, Donny and Prince.  Black musicians have always been at the forefront of innovation in music. But where I think hip hop is always about what’s new, with soul music, we are a bit more nostalgic … and hopefully what we’ve been able to do with LEGEND is that synthesis of looking forward, but also connecting with where we come from.”

Legend is set to perform “Pieces” from the new album at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 12.  Next month, the EGOT winner will return to Las Vegas for his critically acclaimed “Love in Las Vegas” residency, with shows running from October 14 through  October 29.  Billboard previously raved about the show, saying “…Legend held the full house in his hands as they danced, screamed and aah-ed their way through a generous set encompassing the multiple Grammy winner’s eight-album catalog of hits and fan faves.” Tickets are available HERE
