Visitors to our shows have discovered cutting edge designs and global fashion. This fall we are thrilled to introduce you to some of the most innovative fashion designers from the local and global market.

Our Fall Fashion Week will feature networking with the industry, press events, a fashion conference, pop-up shops and a showroom, followed by a private viewing of our runway collection. There will be three days of fashion runway shows with after parties each evening celebrating our models and designers.

The locations for the Fall Fashion Community Week this year are: The Modernist for the Opening Night Media Event (September 18th), followed by a Fashion Conference at the Spaces (September 19th). Splash House 2019

Splash House takes place every summer, once in June and August, within the Palm Springs region. It’s a poolside extravaganza where world renowned EDM artists perform well into the evening at participating hotel properties. After hours (which offers tickets for purchase separately from the weekend’s activities is held at the rustic Air Museum which transforms into a what many believe to be an alien mothership. If you’re seeking a good time with a both youthful yet mature crowd, then this is your locus.

Two of our squad members from 360 MAGAZINE drove down to immerse themselves in this one-of-a-kind experience.

Q. How does one prepare for SH?

A. Pack lots of water, coconut water, Powerade(electrolytes), light clothing and sunblock.

Q. Did you pack light? Did you bring snacks?

A. We stopped at the grocery story for snacks. Cheese and crackers, bagels, eggs, locks and lots of fruit.

Q. How was the drive on the way to Coachella Valley from LA? What time of day did you leave? What time do you recommend leaving?

A. The drive wasn’t too bad. We made it in 3.5 hours, considering we left during rush hour at 5:30pm. I highly recommend to take the day off work and get out to PS early in the day. To set in, relax and mentally prepare for an amazing weekend.

Q.Where did you and your friends rendezvous at?

A. We met at my friends hotel, the Renaissance.

Q. Did you feel the transportation provided was adequate?Or did you hang out at a certain venue or space while at the event?

A. The shuttles took us to different hotels and provided us with cold water which I thought was AMAZING!

Q. If you stayed overnight, was it at a participating hotel or Airbnb? Was it worth it? Did you feel like you missed out on any action?

A. We definitely didn’t miss out on anything by staying at a near by Airbnb. It was nice to disconnect and rest up for the next day.

Q. Where did you pull your inspo for your daily style from? Magazines? Previous festivals? Celebrities on Instagram? Was there a common thread at the festival?

A. I pulled my inspiration for my daily styles from the splash house website/instagram.

Q. Diplo was a last minute addition to the SH lineup, how did you hear about it? Announcement on site or word of mouth? Describe them in a few words.

A. I saw that DIPLO was added on the lineup through Splash House IG. Our most memorable moment at splash house was definitely DIPLO on set. He was magical!!

A. The after hours is truly my favorite so it’s worth every penny!

Q. Overall crowd at SH was on a scale to 1 to 10, how would you rate if 10 being the highest?

A. I’m obsessed with everything about splash house so I rate it a 10. Bringing DIPLO out this year was dope!

Q. Please rate the performances which you saw and why you gave them that rate.

A. We only saw DIPLO and Ekali. They were sick.

Q. Would you attend SH next year and why?

A. I will definitely be attending next year, without a doubt!

Top 3 Corporate Events Where a Pro MC Is Necessary

Almost all corporate events should have a professional master of ceremonies overseeing it. These corporate events are there for a reason. They’re meant to achieve a certain result that the planners had in mind when they were designing them. Whatever type of corporate event, the idea is not only to bring many people together but to encourage certain types of interactions and relationships between people that would not have been possible in the formal office environment. A professional MC is important when it comes to facilitating those relationships and interactions. They are like the secret sauce that makes your event extra special. And, be sure to rent a laptop and protector, which will add value to any formal presentation.

So, the next time you’re planning any of the following corporate events, consider getting yourself an MC for hire at cleancomedians.com to spice things up and improve your success rate, no matter what you’re aiming for.

1. Conferences and Seminars

The whole point of these events is to provide the target audience with certain information that is relevant to them. The seminars are much shorter than the conferences, with seminars lasting a few hours or a few days. They have a few speakers or, sometimes, only one and keep everyone together in the same place. Conferences will have lots of different sessions and speakers and will be held in hotels. They also have keynotes followed by topics and breakout sessions

An MC is necessary at such events to prevent monotony. When you have many people in the same place listening to what is largely the same topic for an extended period, they can start to lose focus and get bored. An MC is important when it comes to giving the much-needed comic relief every once in a while. They are also great for organizing things and making sure every speaker is lined and ready for their session and introducing them onto the podium.

2. Appreciation Events

These events are usually meant to bring about an informal environment where the host can spend time with the guests and focus on building rapport and learning about their mutual interests. These events can be employee appreciations or client appreciations.

An MC is important at such events since they help to build up the informal atmosphere and get everyone to loosen up and relax. That encourages them to open up and network more easily.

3. Team Building Events

These events are meant to boost employee confidence, morale and goodwill while building on the existing strengths of the company. They are meant to build the team, just as the name suggests.

Such events need to be highly charged and energetic with lots of games and workshops that require everyone to be engaged. Who better to bring in that energy than an MC? The MC will not only help in the planning of the event but will also add the light touch necessary to get everyone pumped up for the event.

All of these events are highly engaging and need an MC to sort of act as the “captain of the ship” to bring the program from the commencement to the conclusion successfully, leaving everyone feeling happy and fulfilled at the end.

Yung Gravy “Tampa Bay Bustdown”

Buzzing Minnesota-born rapper Yung Gravy releases his new track “Tampa Bay Bustdown” feat. Chief Keef & Y2K today.

Listen to “Tampa Bay Bustdown” feat. Chief Keef & Y2K: HERE

“We made ‘Tampa Bay Bust Down’ like 7 months ago and I hit up Lil Tracy for his blessing since he had just dropped his own country-style rap song,” Gravy says on the track. “Then we heard ‘Old Town Road’ and knew people would instantly think we copied it. But, we realized that ‘Tampa Bay Bustdown’ bangs way too hard to not drop, so we gotta feed the people.”

On “Tampa Bay Bustdown,” Gravy and Sosa sing and flow over a unique beat produced by Y2K— a simple Southern-style banjo reminiscent of “Deliverance” is met with a heinously hard-hitting 808 pattern. Both rappers deliver some unforgettable bars and melodies that blend together perfectly with the beat.

The track follows the release of his critically acclaimed debut album Sensational, which includes tracks like “Alley Oop,” the basketball anthem featuring Lil Baby and “Gravy Train,” the 808-heavy trap twist on Maxine Nightingale’s “Right Back Where We Started From.” Sensational followed the viral success of his Snow Cougar EP, which featured “Mr. Clean” and “1 Thot 2 Thot Red Thot Blue Thot,” both certified gold by the RIAA.

Yung Gravy has headlined 3 sold out tours in North America and sold out tours in Europe and Australia/NZ as well. This fall, Gravy is headlining his 40-date tour of the US, Canada and Europe: “Experience The Sensation, Part 2.” Tickets are available here.

Billy Raffoul Live In June EP

Singer/songwriter Billy Raffoul releases Live In June EP  today, August 23, on Interscope Records.  Live In June was recorded during Raffoul’s spring 2019 club tour opening for Parachute. The set captures Raffoul’s stripped-down performance aesthetic featuring only Raffoul with his guitar and voice.  Live In June features the newly released song “Easy Tiger” as well as fan favorites “Lovely” and “Acoustic” and is available at all digital retailers now.

“Playing live for an audience has always been the most important thing to me so I am happy to share five live versions of previously released songs with you all,” says Raffoul.   “In between these songs I am trying my hand at comedy… in the event that this music thing doesn’t work out.”

Growing up in the small farming town of Leamington, Ontario, Raffoul first started writing songs at age 10, thanks in no small part to the influence of his father—a musician who’s opened for everyone from Joe Cocker to Bon Jovi. After landing his first paying gig—playing to long-haul drivers at a local truck stop—Raffoul began playing at nearby bars and clubs at age 16, often driving into Detroit for shows. He eventually connected with a manager and moved down to Nashville to push forward with his music career. Soon after scoring a deal with Interscope Records, Raffoul released the critically hailed song “Driver” and followed that with his debut EP 1975 in June 2018 which featured the fan favorite “Acoustic.”

Critical praise followed with NPR raving, “Billy Raffoul has stepped into the spotlight.” Over the past few years, Raffoul has opened for heavyweight artists like, Kings of Leon, X Ambassadors, NEEDTOBREATHE and Kaleo, captivating crowds with his understated yet intensely passionate stage presence.

BANKS shares “Contaminated” video

BANKS shares the lyric video for the haunting track “Contaminated.” View it HERE.

The track is featured on BANKS’ third album, III, which debuted to widespread critical acclaim last month. Zane Lowe first debuted the song as a World First on Apple Music’s Beats 1. BANKS recorded “Contaminated” in Los Angeles, collaborating with producer BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Francis and the Lights). Rolling Stone called the track “infectious” while Billboard noted “‘Contaminated,’…a heavy synth-based melody juxtaposed by the songstress’ signature airy vocals to detail the draining and heartbreaking process of being with someone not healthy for you.”

“‘Contaminated’ is about being addicted to a toxic relationship. The more you give, the less of yourself you become,” says BANKS. BANKS further discusses III in feature articles running in TIME Magazine, Harper’s BAZAAR, Vanity Fair, V Magazine and elsewhere. III is her highest-charting album to date on Billboard’s Top Album Sales tally, debuting at No. 3. It came in at No. 1 on the Internet Albums tally, No. 2 on the Current Alternative Albums and Current Pop Albums charts and No. 9 on the Digital Albums chart. Songs from III have accumulated over 50 million streams alone. She’ll support the album with an extensive headline tour, which kicks off on September 3 at REBEL in Toronto.

The III Tour will include two sold-out shows at Brooklyn Steel (with a third night on sale now) and an October 1 concert at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now. BANKS will also perform at such festivals as Music Midtown in Atlanta, Life is Beautiful in Las Vegas and Austin City Limits. See below for full list of North American/UK/EU dates.

How to Ensure Your Son is Clear on Consent

The Legal Information Institute includes in their definition of assault, “reasonable apprehension of an imminent harmful or offensive contact. Physical injury is not required.” Studies have shown that more than 90% of our communication is non-verbal. We need to teach our young people, especially our young men, how to read non-verbal cues. If you lean into a person and they do not lean forward in return or, more importantly, lean backwards, they are letting you know that you are encroaching on their personal space. Any further encroachment can be considered offensive. Does that mean you have to stop talking to that person? Absolutely not! It just means, slow your roll. It does mean don’t touch them, tickle or grab them. You may want to role play this scenario with your son so that there is a clear understanding before any alcohol is added to the mix. Diminished capacity is not an excuse.

CONSENT TO SEXUAL ACTIVITY

Of late, discussions surrounding consent have centered on consent as it relates to sex. As the common definition of sex amongst adolescents includes penetration, it is again, imperative  to inform our young men that sexual assault can include, per Women’s Health “Fondling or unwanted touching above or under clothes.” This means that many of the popular movie make-out scenes where guys just reach over and commence touching without any conversation would be viewed as sexual assault today. The goal is to not increase the stress and anxiety surrounding interacting with someone you’re attracted to. In fact, if handled correctly, communication reduces everyone’s stress.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE CONSENT

1. Say something! “I really like you, is it okay if I …” or “I really would like to kiss you?” and pause for a response.

2. Don’t be ambiguous. “Do you want to go to my room?” is not code for “and have sex.”

3. Pay attention! If the person you’re with has gotten quiet, they may have become uncomfortable and are having trouble verbalizing their feelings. Stop whatever you’re doing immediately, and check-in with your partner. SILENCE IS NOT CONSENT, ASK!

4. Don’t be selfish! While it is easy to focus on your own pleasure, it is important to stay connected with your partner and don’t make the other person feel bad if they seem hesitant or want to stop. They are withdrawing consent. This is important; they don’t have to say “no” to withdraw consent. If they are no longer actively participating, there is NO consent.

CAN THERE BE CONSENT WHEN DRUNK?

This is an important question as it relates to your son’s college career. College protocol and the law do not always have to agree. In other words, if students are inebriated at the time, and there is what was understood to be consensual sex at the time, and neither lost consciousness, in some states the parties would still be considered incapacitated to consent; however, in other states a legal argument can be made that there was consent. Based on your college’s protocol, l you can be considered impaired even if both parties consented, and you may  face consequences such as expulsion. Make sure to understand your school’s Student Code of Conduct. All major colleges and universities now have a section to address sexual misconduct. It’s a good idea to review this with your son before he leaves so that there is no ambiguity. So now your drunk, how do you decide? Even when drunk, go back to step 1: Say something. If you or your partner can’t communicate, there can’t be consent. Remember, if there is any doubt, there is NO consent.

YES, A MAN MUST ALSO CONSENT

Just because a woman offers sex, does not mean a man has to want it. There is nothing wrong with a guy turning down sex. Sexual emancipation has given rise to a dark side, an underreported behavior. Some sororities are encouraging the collecting of sexual scalps. Without consent, it is wrong when a man does it. It is equally wrong when a woman does it. It is important for young men to realize that they can be sexually assaulted and/or raped. It is a myth that men cannot be raped. There is a powerful scene in the popular History Channel’s series Vikings which depicts just such an event. Sexual assault of a male is traumatic and should not be minimized because of gender. Males should be encouraged to report and are entitled to the same protections afforded female victims. You need to make sure your son is aware that this is NEVER okay.

IS IT EVER TOO LATE TO WITHDRAW CONSENT?

This is an extremely important concept. Just because someone consents to sex, that does not mean they have given up their right to end the experience at any point. Once someone says “stop,” or “no” or ceases participation, they have withdrawn consent and the other party needs to stop as they are no longer with a “willing” participant. There is no justification to continue the encounter.

At this point, some parents may be thinking, “am I making a mistake letting my son go away to school?” The college transition for a prepared adolescent is a valuable experience. In addition to education, college provides an opportunity for a young man to master self-sufficiency, gain self-esteem and most importantly develop the critical thinking skills needed to be successful in life. Teach your son about consent. This is an important tool that will make him a better person, then allow him the opportunity to step up and become that person.

Anuel AA and Ozuna “Adicto”

Latin GRAMMY© winning producer Tainy taps Latin trap rapper Anuel AA, and reggaetonero Ozuna for his latest single, “Adicto” out now on Interscope Records/ Neon 16. “Adicto” was featured as Zane Lowe’s World Record today on Apple Music’s Beats 1 and is available now at all  digital retailers

The Zak Facts directed video comes just in time for cuffing season, highlighting the trios trysts with love. Coming out swinging as a solo artist, Tainy powers back-to-back hits such as, “Callaita,” with Bad Bunny, and “I Can’t Get Enough” with benny blanco, Selena Gomez, and J. Balvin — the mogul continues to thrive on the music scene. View the video for “Adicto” here.

“Adicto” is the latest single off of Tainy’s upcoming solo project under NEON16 — his multifaceted label recently co-founded with renowned music exec, and former EVP at Roc Nation Records, Lex Borrero. The “Adicto” music video features Tainy’s first-ever close-up as a bonafide solo artist. And the multi-hyphenate, Tainy, plays his renowned keys on camera for his loyalists, as Ozuna croons: “Han pasado varios días y estoy enfermo de ti/ Dime que me hiciste mal/ De mi memoria yo no te puedo borrar/ Dios me va a castigar le prometí te iba a olvidar.”

Anuel AA articulates the growing pains of love, as the MC’s “Adicto” vice on wax is his woman. The thrill of a passionate love often runs its course, and the picturesque “Adicto” video shows both the highs and lows of multiple young lovers. And with the outro, “Bebe yo soy adicto a tu piel/ Yo trato de explicarte y tu no quieres entender,” Tainy, Ozuna, and Anuel AA leave their “Adicto” viewers wondering if the thing they love most is what they are better off without.

Unique Features That Are Found Only in Digital Pianos

With their age old charm, acoustic pianos impress almost everyone. We have an upgrade in the market already. Digital pianos are a package comprising all the features of an acoustic piano and some more. With modern capabilities, these digital pianos lay the whole world of music at your feet. The sustain pedal and the other damping pedals make the whole musical experience more real and out of the world.

Thanks to the new age digital pianos, they come with sustain pedals and an incredible damper action! Could you have imagined? Apart from all the ease and portability that they gift you with, it just gets better with richer and more impactful sound dynamics to make it feel like magic.

Furthermore, this feature also comes up with an upgrade in some of the digital pianos. You can actually regulate the volume of either of the sounds as per your taste and requirement. Can’t get any better, can it?

Graded Hammer Action Keyboard

To simulate the musical experience of an acoustic piano, digital pianos now come with an interesting feature. This one comprises the graded hammer action keyboard. Wondering what that is? Well, just like an acoustic piano has, digital pianos also have weighted keys that sensitive to touch. Yamaha P45 is one such piano with GHS feature. Witness the movement of hammers on your piano just like a good old vintage acoustic piano also experiences.

Sound effects

Well, the sound of a traditional piano is to mainstream. How about simulating the sounds of various musical instrument on one. Exactly what digital pianos come with on a platter.
