DYLAN Shares New Single "Girl Of Your Dreams" via U Music Group for use by 360 MAGAZINE

DYLAN – DREAMS

Today, DYLAN shares her anticipated new single ‘Girl Of Your Dreams’, her first release for Island Records. As premiered on Jack Saunders’ BBC Radio 1 ‘Future Artists’ show in the Power Play slot, the track arrives alongside a new video, co-directed by Dylan and Carla Dauden.

‘Girl Of Your Dreams’ is a headrush of spiky energy that sits somewhere between pop perfection and a classic stadium rocker. The track is defined by a reckless sense of momentum, seamlessly merging alt-rock and pop sensibilities to create a sound that is unmistakably Dylan. Honed into its current form by months on the road, it is the product of a popstar who truly understands the power of live performance.

“Girl of Your Dreams is very simple and straight to the point.” notes Dylan. “The day I wrote it, I was feeling a lot of frustration towards someone who sadly had absolutely no interest in me. Ultimately, they hadn’t done anything wrong, so instead of writing a “screw you” song, I wrote a “want me!” song.

Fresh off of a UK stadium tour in support of Ed Sheeran, which included five sold out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium – Dylan might only be at the beginning of her journey as one of the UK’s most exciting new pop talents, but she’s had her sights set on big things since her childhood.

Raised on a diet of classic rock and big riffs, she spent her early years atop her kitchen table, plywood guitar in hand. “I would stand there and shout, ‘hello Wembley!’ – that’s how I started a gig with my band when I was 11 too.”, she recalls.

The 22-year-old – whose real name is Tash Woods – might be destined for pop glory, but the influence of more alternative sounds colours her tongue-in-cheek characterisation of herself as “a wannabe rock star in a pop star’s body”. Since 2019, she’s been on a journey to find her own voice, moving through more electronic-focused, synth-pop songs (‘Good Enough’) and mournful piano ballads (‘IKWYDLN’).

After two EPs, 2021 brought three singles in ‘Nineteen’, ‘You’re Not Harry Styles’ and ‘No Romeo’  that started to shape the real Dylan sound – big pop hooks driven by crunchy guitars, candid dissections of her life and loves into incisive, memorable lyrics.

That candidness is part of what has already scored her praise from the likes of Notion, MTV, Vogue Italia, The Line Of Best Fit and BBC Introducing; UK support slots with Yungblud, Bastille, Ed Sheeran and an EU run with Tate McRae; inspiring an incredibly loyal and passionate fanbase to form around her.

As she looks toward a summer of festival performances, a sold out UK headline tour and a steady stream of impeccable pop anthems, Dylan looks destined to continue hooking people into her world, rapidly expanding that fanbase in a big way. As it does so, she’s keeping her ambitions fittingly bold. “I want to be respected as a songwriter – for me it really is just about the music,” she explains. “And I want to headline Wembley – that’s everything I’ve had my sights on.”

She & Him Debuts New Album, "Melt Away: A Tribute to Brian Wilson" via Fantasy Records for use by 360 MAGAZINE

SHE & HIM – MELT AWAY

Zooey Deschanel (She) & M. Ward (Him) will be releasing their brand new album Melt Away: A Tribute to Brian Wilson via Fantasy Records next Friday, July 22nd. “Darlin’,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Til I Die” and Donߣt Worry Baby were the first four singles to be released from Melt Away.

She & Him‘s seventh studio album is a loving, LP-length tribute to one of the greatest living American songwriters and singers, Brian WilsonMelt Away: A Tribute to Brian Wilson finds Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward diving deep into the legendary artist’s extensive songbook, offering fascinating and delectable new spins on time-honored classics and overlooked gems alike. These fourteen covers are infused with the familiar magic that She & Him fans know and love, opening a new window into Wilson’s iconic catalog. Wilson even features on a song with Zooey and M. Ward for the album, Do It Again. The band have enjoyed a friendship, and mutual appreciation, with Wilson over the years and She & Him was previously a guest vocalist on his 2015 album, No Pier Pressure.

In the spring of 2020, we started a list of our favorite Brian songs a very long list, the duo explains. We chose songs without any regard to their chart performance. The obscure ones hit us just as hard as the more popular songs and all are ripe for re-imagining, re-interpreting, and re-inventing. Brian writes songs of beauty and loneliness and vulnerability better than anyone and by sequencing them next to popular songs of confidence and love and fun, it creates a more complete picture of life on earth.

Brian Wilson comments on Melt Away: Zooey and Matt did such mind-blowing versions of our songs. The harmonies are beautiful and right on. I love this record!

Melt Away is Deschanel and Ward’s follow-up to 2016 holiday album Christmas Party, and it marks their second record of non-holiday covers since 2014 Classics, which topped Billboard’s U.S. Folk Albums chart on release. It’s the latest display of remarkable talent from She & Him, who have wowed listeners for over 15 years with their gorgeous and warm indie-pop. As Deschanel maintained a successful acting career and Ward’s continued his own singular solo career as a producer and singer-songwriter, the duo continues to sound like the perfect match in the studio with Deschanel’s dramatic vocals pairing with Matt’s textured, tuneful arrangements and production.

About Lane 8:

Denver-based DJ and producer Daniel Goldstein aka Lane 8 has become the leading light in today’s melodic house scene with multiple sell out shows at iconic venues such as Red Rocks and Brooklyn Mirage under his belt.

His fourth album, and third on his own This Never Happened imprint, Reviver was released in January of this year. As with every Lane 8 album, Reviver was blessed with the lyrical creativity of several songwriters. Daniel was joined for the third successive album by Channy Leaneagh from cult indie act POLICA who added her distinctive tones to the grooving prog opener Survive, while Arctic Lake, who signed with Astralwerks, was featured on I’ll Wait and the wistful What Have You Done for Me. The voice behind Lane 8′s original breakout vocal Diamonds back in 2014, Solomon Grey made a welcome return with a stirring falsetto turn on another melodic bomb in Automatic. Adding a new flavor to the project, Emmit Fenn added his dusty tones to the blissful Red Lights.

Teeming with emotion, Reviver’ is a return to the dancefloor that manages to wrap up a lifetime of musical influences into its expansive vision for modern festival stages -80s synth-pop, electronica, indie, European techno, classic pop songwriting, post-EDM and beyond.

The album will be backed up with a multi date North America tour where once again he will be implementing his now infamous This Never Happened concept where he encourages fans to not record or take photos, to create a more positive and engaging atmosphere for all attendees.

Erika Sirola New Album, "Who?" via Elektra Music Group for use by 360 MAGAZINE

 ERIKA SIROLA – WHO?

23-year-old Finland native Erika Sirola has announced her debut EP, Who? The four-track collection is set to arrive August 5th via Elektra Records and is available for presave now.

To celebrate the announcement, Sirola has unveiled her brand new single All In My Head, available now on all streaming platforms. The track arrives alongside a cinematic music video directed by Nico Poalillo, which is streaming now on Erika’s official YouTube channel. Written in London when Sirola was just 18, All In My Head is an ineffably catchy piece of alt-pop, unfolding in lush yet jagged textures and choir-like harmonies as she confesses her insecurity with a potent candor.

Sirola commented, All In My Head was written in London back in 2017, so I was a mere 18 years old. My head was most certainly not all there I was very confused as to who I was and what I wanted out of myself, my music and my life. The song is from the mind and heart of a very different individual and it’s clear when listening, but it marks and represents a significant step to who I have become. It marked a time of solidifying my sense of purpose of creating art to writing music. Looking back at it now, I am grateful to be able to see how scared I was to take risks in my creativity. I’m excited to see what others take from the song and how differently they will react and respond.

Last month, the artist announced her signing to Elektra Records and shared debut single End Of The Day. The news was shared exclusively via Consequence, who raved, End Of The Day embodies Sirola’s unique voice. Starting as a soft-spoken piano ballad, it soon falls into a world of dramatic synth pads and a drumbeat that sounds like it’s ripped from a club hit all without losing its emotionalityEarly Rising attested, Sirola’s sultry, strong, and raw vocal abilities are incredibly captivating from the moment the song begins, floating whimsically over the lovesick soundscape. Sirola has the innate ability to turn pain into something beautiful. Her creativity knows no bounds, and this song is just the beginning, while MUD Magazine declared Erika Sirola’s debut single gives us the most beautiful combination of profound lyricism with a freshly unique sound.

Opening in stark simplicity then slowly building to a glorious whirlwind of fast and frantic beats, End Of The Day tilts heartbreak into something strangely sublime. The single is available now on all streaming services and is accompanied by a captivating performance video directed by Nico Paolillo, which is streaming on Erika’s official YouTube channel. In addition to being a longtime piano player, guitarist, and clothing designer, Sirola is also a talented visual artist and designed the EP’s mixed-media art.

About Erika Sirola:

For Erika Sirola, the act of creating is an impulse as natural as breathing. Growing up in Helsinki (and spending most summers with her mother’s family in Canada), Sirola first discovered the power of alchemizing pain into art as a young child. A songwriter since the age of eight, the 23-year-old Finland native landed her first record deal at 12 and spent much of her late adolescence and early adulthood living in such far-flung cities as L.A. and Berlin and London, gradually shaping a singular musical identity informed by everything from art-pop to techno to the more esoteric edges of folk, jazz and experimental music. Newly signed to Elektra Records, Sirola centers the beguiling vocal presence she first brought as a featured artist on Robin Schulz’s 2018 smash hit Speechless to make her debut with upcoming EP Who? arriving August 5th and offering a dazzling first glimpse at the wild expanse of her creativity.

KROY – ANIMACHINA

Earlier this year, multi-disciplinary recording artist KROY teamed up with The PHI Centre in Montreal to turn her music into a live performance art piece entitled ANIMACHINADuring this residency, Jonathon Anderson at the Creative School of Ryerson University programmed three robot arms to play music and mirror KROY‘s movements, to tell a communal story that blurs the line between man and machine and what interpersonal connection looks like in the modern world. Today, KROY releases a seven-part video series for ANIMACHINA. Watch HERE.

In these videos, KROY strips down her hyper-pop and hyper-sensitive sound, to showcase her vocals in a truly haunting way. Performing alongside a robot, she leaves viewers feeling entranced and unsettled as she tackles topics like love and violence. Working through the seven videos, KROY performs recent songs like “Ryan Atwood,” teases upcoming releases, and interweaves a storyline that tethers the series together.

On ANIMACHINA, the PHI Centre said, “These monster-machines, with unforgivable tentacles, perform choreographic movements with surgical precision. In unison, they strum, modulate the artist’s voice on pedals and document the scene themselves. The danger, inherent in this dance of death where a single coordination error can lead to a fatal accident, allows KROY and his team to touch the sublime. Because it is with the machines that she finds comfort and that she fully vibrates.”

These videos are a hint at what is to come from the avantgarde artist later this year as she closes one chapter of her artistry, and fiercely blows open the next.

ABOUT KROY

Introspection. Lust for connection. Loneliness can transform you in many ways. Isolation will move you to places you never thought you could find yourself. Some would choose to wait for a human connection. Others would wish for rooms full of strangers. Social anxiety has pushed KROY in the direction of finding intimacy elsewhere. Finding comfort in the digital world, having rooted most of her personality in Myspace and Tumblr, KROY finds freedom online. Connecting with people she’ll never meet. Confessing secrets she’d never tell any physical being. Merging her obsession with robots with her musical abilities, a pandemic became a playground. Getting in contact with other creatives also in a state of emergency, a team was quickly formed. With consultants in AI, digital arts, physics and computer sciences. With Ryerson University’s Creative Lab supporting and hosting the project. With three KUKA arms ready to learn how to play live instruments. Ready to learn choreography and movements that match KROY’s.
