VERSUS BORG

Yesterday Björn Borg held a spectacular see-now-buy-now fashion show, VERSUS Borg, at The Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm. The show was a clear manifestation of the brand’s heritage as a tennis and sports brand and the launch of its ‘Signature Collection’ – strongly linked to the style icon Björn Borg himself and the iconic sportswear era during of the 1970’s.

The Signature Collection and the Main Fall Winter 2017 Collection, were showcased simultaneously formed by two armies epitomising retrospective and futuristic features. British stylist Tom Guinness presented a real hybrid between old and new points of the brand – clashing contrasts of retro silhouettes of the SIgnature Collection and bold, futuristic performance sportswear of Fall Winter 2017. Guinness gave a contemporary interpretation of the limited edition Signature Collection that highlighted the tracksuits in bold colours, sweatbands and sneakers. The Main Fall/Winter 2017 collection is a representation of maximal-minimal and more advanced technical active wear.

– This show emphasised what Björn Borg is all about and was an empowering statement for us. Contemporary and prospective, yet true to our DNA and the legacy as a tennis and sports brand. We wanted to state our position as the ultimate fashion sports brand, says Jonas Lindberg Nyvang, Global Marketing Director at Björn Borg.

Tom Guinness explains his involment and the inspiration behind the styling.

– Björn Borg was a pioneer of personal endorsements making some of the most stylish and recognizable collaborations really early on, and with that said the references are of course Björn Borg’s personal style in the 70’s which was ground-breaking especially for a European sports star. But I also drew inspiration from the disco era and the graphic color blocking of 1970’s sportswear.

The show took place on the centre court of the classic Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm, followed by two contrasting armies of models entering the crystal white tennis court. Music produced by and live performance by Simon Littauer. The runway show was livestreamed at bjornborg.com  and is to be watched on the campaign site. Signature Collection is now launched and available to shop online.

CEO of OPSkins to talk $50B Online Gaming Virtual Trading Industry

Menlo Park, CA, August 15, 2017 – Today, the founders of OPSkins, the world’s #1 centralized marketplace for trading video game virtual items (or assets), formally unveiled Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX), a new decentralized platform for virtual exchanges, ahead of its upcoming token sale in mid-October 2017, with a detailed announcement coming at September. WAX is a decentralized platform to empower all virtual item market participants – listing and selling agents, item escrow fiduciaries, appraisers, affiliates, buyers and sellers – to exchange merchandise, apportion fees and settle transactions quickly and securely.
With WAX, OPSkins enables the community of over 400+ million online video gamers to host their own secure virtual item exchanges on the blockchain, allowing for high frequency, transparent transactions at extremely low costs. WAX is designed to give gamers their own exchanges, similar to OPSkins, without investment in hardware, security infrastructure or payment processing.
“The current virtual item trading industry is fragmented across hundreds of mostly regional marketplaces, creating significant supply and demand imbalances,” said William Quigley, CEO of OPSkins. “WAX solves this issue by creating a global virtual item platform accessible to anyone, providing a complete catalog of all assets available for sale in real time. Such a repository, when coupled with a reliable and low cost settlement network, vastly improves price discovery, market liquidity and growth.”
WAX incorporates the OPSkins founders’ 20 years and billions of transactions of virtual asset sale experience to design a smart token for highly secure and automated transactions. The WAX platform allows the global pool of buyers and sellers to eliminate the many financial risks they encounter from the prevailing consignment-based marketplace model in use today. WAX tokens act as stored value for acquiring in-game assets and as smart contracts which ensure secure and efficient buying, selling and trading of virtual assets.
ABOUT WAX

Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX) is a new company created by the founders of OPSkins to expand asset trading for in-game items. WAX uses blockchain technology to empower hundreds of millions of multiplayer online video gamers to collect and trade in-game virtual assets conveniently and securely.
ABOUT OPSkins

Created in 2015, OPSkins is the global marketplace leader for video game virtual assets. The company facilitates over 100 million purchases annually from millions of customers in 95 countries.

EZI RELEASES REDEMPTION VIDEO

STEVE MADDEN’S 5TOWNS RECORDS’ DEBUT ARTIST EZI

RELEASES “REDEMPTION” VIDEO VIA REFINERY 29 TODAY

(WATCH HERE)

UPCOMING FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES AT MADE IN AMERICA (9/2) & KAABOO (9/15)

HEADLINE PERFORMANCE ON 9/13 AT FREEHOLD BROOKLYN

DEBUT EP DUE THIS FALL

Having recently been revealed as the first signing to shoe designer Steve Madden’s newly launched 5Towns Records—the label founded by Madden and music/marketing veteran Steve Feinberg – EZI dropped the official video for her debut single “REDEMPTION” today, via Refinery 29. Watch HERE.

Co-directed by Antony Langdon (member/vocalist of the band Spacehog) and EZI, as well as conceptualized by both, the video takes the viewer down the rabbit hole into a modern-day, but vacant ‘wonderland.’ “I wanted to create a world that felt like my mind at the time of writing ’Redemption,’ says EZI. “A place that is dark and that often I get lost in. In the video, I’m going on an adventure where I’m both running away and towards something. I’m running from a part of myself or from a state of mind. Ultimately the message of the song is to embrace your vulnerability, because it’s our vulnerability and darkness that allows us see the light and beauty that does exist.” Fans can also get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video HERE.

EZI will also make her festival debut at Philadelphia’s Made in America festival, this Saturday, 9/2, performing with frequent collaborator, DJ/Producer, Kap Slap, as well as at Kaaboo Festival in San Diego 9/15. EZI will also headline FREEHOLD Brooklyn on 9/13 (8pm Doors/9:30pm Performance. Fans can enter to win a pair of tickets to Made in America (Saturday only) or attend the 9/13 performance in Brooklyn, NY for FREE, by heading over to www.eziofficial.com and signing up for the EZI mailing list.

Upon the audio release and debut of “REDEMPTION,” Nylon Magazine urged listeners to “press play and twirl to your own broken-hearted fantasy” and described it as “playful, sad, and made for warm summer nights.” Listen HERE. Billboard Magazine hailed “the minimalist pop jam stands as a perfect introduction to EZI, who used a low moment last year to empower herself and accept ‘all I’ve got’ as the chorus touts.”

The Long Island, New York native wrote the song in August 2016, during one of the lowest points in her life. On hiatus from Nickelodeon’s The Other Kingdom, which she starred in for its one on-air season, EZI bought a one-way ticket to Los Angeles to focus on her music career for a few months (EZI grew up acting, dancing, and singing). But when she arrived in the City of Angels earlier that summer, she found herself at an unexpected crossroads.

“I’ve always struggled with depression,” EZI says. “I’m a very emotional person. [When I wrote “REDEMPTION”], I was living alone in Hollywood, my schedule was all over the place, I was going through some stuff personally … but more than that, I don’t even know what triggered it—I was honestly so lost, so detached, so removed from myself. Most people actually think [the song] is about a relationship [with another person], but it’s actually about the relationship I have with myself. You wake up loving yourself, you wake up hating yourself, [or] being upset or disappointed.

Fans can expect the debut EP from EZI this coming fall!

ABOUT 5TOWNS RECORDS:

5Towns Records is an American record label based in New York City, founded by shoe designer Steve Madden and his business partner, music industry & branding veteran Steve Feinberg.

Feinberg whose company 8spoke, consults for Madden’s brands on music/culture, has been working with Steve Madden on all brand music endeavors for the last 5 years. With the continuing success and the consistent growth of the Steve Madden Music platform, the two Steve’s decided they wanted to get even closer to the music and the artists… and 5Towns Records was born.

Feinberg’s achievements as a former artist manager, that discovered and managed multi-platinum artist Good Charlotte and worked with a dozen more including, Flight of The Conchords and My Morning Jacket, his work with the major labels, publishers and distribution groups to curate music programs while establishing artist/brand relationships, lead them to create this exciting new venture.

Seeing the industry change incredibly in the past few years, 5Towns considers itself a new label for the new age. Now that brands have become a bigger, more important and more accepted part of the music world, 5TR is in a unique position to help artist be heard AND seen.

Unlike most companies, Steve Madden is not only a brand but a real person, a fan who LOVES music and wants to be an integral part of discovering, working with and developing artists. 5Towns is part of the creation of a whole new version of the industry. While there has been a lot of “artist vs label” sentiment lately, 5TR is uniquely positioned to be artist driven and artist centered. 5TR can alleviate great deal of that skepticism as an independent label with its own funding, but unlike most indie labels out there…they have the ability to utilize the incredible brand association potential (when necessary) to completely separating themselves (when appropriate). 5Towns is in a positively uncommon position. The label will be positioned unique to every artist signed to 5Towns. 5TR seeks to build a stable of artists who are proud of their label. In a cynical time, bookended by tales of corporate overreach, 5TR is a label artists can turn to, knowing their message will be heard and their vision will be supported. 5Towns Records is where passion, hard work, vision, talent, music and ambition meet.

On Sunday, October 8 at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT, TV One will premiere the powerful original movie BOBBI KRISTINA, an honest and moving look at the young woman at the center of one of the most talked-about stories in recent years. Starring newcomer Joy Rovaris (Stuck in the Middle) in the title role, the film aims to restore what has been lost amidst the tabloid headlines: the real Bobbi Kristina Brown, a.k.a. “Krissy” – the vibrant, talented and troubled only daughter of pop music royalty Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, who died too young, and whose memory has been overshadowed by the circumstances of her death.

“The tabloids painted a picture of two superstars who lived a tumultuous life, but we often forget that in the process a little girl had to grow up in a limelight that she did not choose. In its simplest form, Bobbi Kristina is a story about a beautiful mother-daughter relationship intertwined with both of their desires to be loved; one just happened to be a superstar and the other an innocent bystander to her parents’ fame,” said D’Angela Proctor, TV One Head of Original Programming & Production.
Beginning immediately after the passing of her mother, the story delves into Bobbi Kristina’s struggle to come to terms with Houston’s sudden departure and the complexities of her own life. BOBBI KRISTINA presents the first three-dimensional look at a story – and a life – that deserve better. In 2012, Whitney Houston’s tragic demise put her entire family in the worldwide media spotlight, with most of the glare falling on her grieving daughter, Bobbi Kristina. Krissy became one of the main characters in the story of Houston’s death and its devastating aftermath as she struggled with her grief, her personal relationships, upholding her mother’s legacy and her plans for the future. BOBBI KRISTINA offers a rare glimpse into the world of this young woman whose brief life and untimely end remain shrouded in mystery.

Opposite Rovaris, BOBBI KRISTINA stars Demetria McKinney (House of Payne, Saints and Sinners) who delivers an uncanny performance as she embodies the heart, flair and essence of the legendary Whitney Houston. The film also stars Nadji Jeter(Grown Ups, Last Man Standing) as Nick Gordon, Hassan Johnson(The Wire, E.R.) as Bobby Brown, and Vivica A. Fox(Empire, Kill Bill) as Pat Houston. Le’Azionna Braden makes her screen debut as young Bobbi Kristina.

The film is directed by former child actor Ty Hodges (Don’t Look Under The Bed, Material Girls and Charlie, Trevor and Girl Savannah) with screenplay by Rhonda Baraka. Baraka previously wrote the TV One movies Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story, The Secret She Kept, and For the Love of Ruth. Executive Producers Tracey Baker Simmons and Wanda Shelley, creators of the docu-series’ “Being Bobby Brown” and “The Houstons,” developed the underlying story.

“Bobbi Kristina is a passion project for us because we watched Krissy grow up from the time she was 10 years old and until she became an amazing young adult. The world did not have the opportunity to know and love Krissy the way we did,” said Baker-Simmons, executive producer, alongside Wanda Shelley in Simmons Shelley Entertainment. “Krissy, like most young adults, shared one side of herself with her family and another side with her closest friends. This movie is told from that perspective.”

BOBBI KRISTINA is produced for TV One by Eric Tomosunas (executive producer), Keith Neal and James Seppelfrick of Swirl Films (When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story, Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story). Casting was provided by Leah Daniels Butler (Empire and Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story). For TV One, Donyell McCullough is Senior Director of Talent & Casting; Robyn Greene-Arrington is VP of Original Programming and Executive in Charge of Production, and D’Angela Proctor is Head of Original Programming and Production.

MADD and Pirelli Partner to Drive Change

MADD and Pirelli Partner to Drive Change andKeep the Nation’s Roads Safe

Dallas – Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD) and Pirelli® Tires are working together to drive change and keep our roads safe from drunk driving. From August 26 through October 2, 2017, for every new set of Scorpion tires purchased in North America, Pirelli will give customers a $60 VISA® prepaid card and will donate $5 to MADD. Pirelli will also give customers the opportunity to donate to MADD.

Pirelli’s support for MADD comes ahead of the Labor Day weekend in order to increase awareness during a period that typically results in more drunk driving crashes. In 2015, there were 153 drunk driving fatalities in the U.S. over the four-day Labor Day time period, accounting for 33 percent of all traffic fatalities, according to the most recent statistics by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“With the number of drunk driving deaths increasing over the past couple of years, we are proud to partner with a company that is dedicated to turning this trend around,” said Colleen Sheehey-Church, MADD National President, whose 18-year-old son Dustin was killed in an underage drunk and drugged driving crash. “We are grateful that Pirelli stands with us to protect innocent lives.”

MADD provides free supportive services to drunk and drugged driving victims and is the leading voice in awareness and advocacy, urging everyone to designate a non-drinking driver if their plans include alcohol. Since MADD’s founding in 1980, drunk driving deaths have decreased by 53 percent, 350,000 lives have been saved, and nearly one million victims have been served.

“We are proud to support MADD, whose lifesaving mission aligns with our motto, ‘power is nothing without control,’ said Pierluigi Dinelli, CEO and Chairman of Pirelli Tire North America. “Pirelli is committed to roadway safety, and we look forward to assisting MADD’s efforts by providing safe tires and promoting driver safety.”

Founded in Italy, Pirelli has continually grown in the North American market, with a range that includes new tires designed specifically for North American driver needs, and its first ever retail store, P Zero World, which is located in Los Angeles and launched in 2016.

For more information about the promotion, please visit here.

HOK KONISHI

(featured image by Ryan Feng)

With cultural roots based in Yokohama, Japan, and his early youth refined in Oxford, England, Hokuto Konishi‘s diverse upbringing gave way to a creative formula in movement. From the age of 15, dance evolved from a primary activity to a pursuit of passion when college brought him across the world to the United States in 2004. Hok Konishi is now an Emmy Award winning multi-talented artist and best known for his eccentric style as a dancer and choreographer. He became a world sensation after his appearance on FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” Although his appearances spanned multiple seasons, his impression was immortalized on season 3 when he performed the iconic Emmy awarded dance choreographed by the famed Wade Robson entitled, “The Flower and the Hummingbird” with QUEST CREW (which he co-founded alongside of his teammate Ryanimay Conferido). Hok, along with his fellow teammates from QUEST CREW, also won the all star season of MTV’s “Americas Best Dance Crew.” Their performances during the season lead Hok to be awarded an Emmy for outstanding choreography.

As a natural born creator and collaborator, Hok is inspired by all that is beautiful. He believes “beauty comes in form, flow, color, light and idea,” and does not shy away from finding inspiration in things others might consider weird. Along with his love of dancechoreographyfood and art, his latest passion is directing. He recently had the opportunity to direct a commercial for Japan Airlines entitled “Everything Reverses.”

No stranger to live performances, Hok has had the honor of choreographing the opening act of Madonna’s “MDNA” world tour,” as well as directing and choreographing LMFAO’s entire  “Sorry for Party Rocking” world tour. His music video collaborations include Chris Brown’s “Fine China,” LMFAO “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy & I Know It,” Lil Jon’s “Literally I Can’t,” Snoop Dogg’s “I Wanna Rock,”  R.Kelly’s “Bump N Grind” and Far East Movement, Justin Bieber and Redfoo’s “Live My Life.”

When it comes to television, Hok has an impressive resume that includes performances on “Dancing With The Stars,” “Little Big Shots,” “Good Morning America,” “Harry,” “The Ellen Show” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” just to name a few. His choreography and dance skills have also been featured in commercials for Coca-Cola’s ‘Fanta,’ Converse and Mountain Dew.

As of late, Hok performed with Nicki Minaj at the Billboard Music Awards and Demi Lovato at this year’s Grammy’s tribute to the Bee Gees. Currently, he’s collaborating with Nike HQ and continues to travel the world creating, choreographing, inspiring and teaching dance.
