MASERATI – GRESCALE

Maserati is celebrating its newest SUV, the Grecale, with a limited edition offering based on Maserati’s acclaimed Fuoriserie customization program: The Grecale PrimaSerie.

The Maserati Grecale, the Trident brand’s newest SUV, strikes the right balance between versatility, elegance, performance, and innovation. With the Fuoriserie program, it allows clients to create unique, one-of-a-kind vehicles that reflect their personality and passion. Maserati is taking that program one step further and elevating the new Grecale with pre-configured colors and features in PrimaSerie – or “first” – editions of the Grecale in honor of its upcoming North American arrival this fall.

There will be two versions of the Grecale PrimaSerie.

First, the top-of-the-line Grecale Trofeo with its 523-horsepower Nettuno V6 engine, will be offered in an exceptional Giallo Corse yellow quad-coat paint, unique to the Fuoriserie program. It will also come with 21-inch Crio wheels, red-gloss brake calipers and black interior with yellow stich trim. The cockpit will also feature 3D carbon trim and custom trident headrest stitching of PrimaSerie, to commemorate the unique vehicle. It will also feature the premium plus package, which includes heated steering wheel and windshield washer nozzles, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a premium Sonus faber audio system with 21 speakers. There will also be brushed stainless steel sport pedals and a Techssistance package with head-up display and wireless charging. Lastly, the Grecale Trofeo PrimaSerie will come with cargo rails on the load floor and a cargo area power outlet for convenient charging while adventuring.

The second version is offered on the Grecale Modena, which features a 325-horsepower mild-hybrid four-cylinder engine and is available in three striking colors: Bianco Astro (white) metallic paint, Blu Nobile (blue) tri-coat paint, and Grigio Cangiante (silver-inspired) tri-coat paint. All units will feature the special trident “PrimaSerie” headrest stitch and 21-inch Pegaso wheels to go along with their custom interiors. The Biaco Astro Modena will feature a Rosso (red) interior with Grigio stich and piano black trim with gloss-red brake calipers. The Blu Nobile will feature blue brake calipers and Nero (black) interior with Blu stitch and piano black trim. The Grigio Cangiante will also feature blue brake calipers, but will have a Ghiaccio interior and Grigio stitch, along with piano black trim. All three Grecale Modena PrimaSerie will feature the premium plus package with sport power seats, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel and windshield washer nozzles, as well as the high premium Sonus faber 21-speaker audio system. They will also come with the Techsisstance package with head-up display and wireless charger, along with sport pedals in brushed stainless steel, three-zone climate control, and finally, a hands-free power liftgate.

Only 325 vehicles will be produced for North America and, for increased peace-of-mind, the Grecale PrimaSerie will come with a four-year, 50,000-mile pre-paid maintenance plan.

The PrimaSerie Grecale will be available in North American dealerships beginning this fall. Contact your local dealer or find your PrimaSerie Grecale here:

DAVID PARKER – NEW BOOK

A San Francisco Conservative Challenges Conventional Political Beliefs

The ancient wisdom of Euclid, Plato and Aristotle still applies today, suggests entrepreneur, investor and lifelong educator David Parker.

“I am a San Francisco conservative — a classical liberal, a classical conservative,” Parker said. “I am Apollo. Reason. All my friends and my family are romantic liberals. Compassion — from the heart. There’s a place for both in the world.”

Parker discusses both ends of the political spectrum and everything in between in his thought-provoking new book, A San Francisco Conservative: David Parker Essays Volume Two.

In it, Parker reminds readers that the timeless principles of economics are essential to the preservation of American democracy.

Parker went back to school at age 50 to gain a deeper understanding of these enduring ideas — and the missteps of nations that deviated from them — to write A San Francisco Conservative. Just as his first book, Income and Wealth, provided readers with a thought-provoking examination of the foundations on which this nation’s freedom rests, his latest book also serves as a message of reassurance and challenge to the conventional political thinking of the day. He calls it “a letter to progressives.”

The issues Parker addresses are those he has focused on for more than half a century, throughout his 40-year career as a teacher in San Francisco public schools. In A San Francisco Conservative, he reminds readers that “crises” have affected the American economy numerous times over the nation’s history — but they pass.

Parker provides well-researched support for his belief that economic opportunities always exist. He cautions that government leaders — especially those who identify themselves as progressives — are jeopardizing the very democracy that has produced prosperity.

Themes covered in A San Francisco Conservative range from education to taxes and the political process itself. Parker challenges the widespread belief that a “conservative” (whether a resident of San Francisco or elsewhere) lacks empathy or a personal commitment to help those who are less fortunate. Government programs supported by many in today’s progressive movement to counter this misunderstanding merely increase the nation’s deficit in dangerous ways, Parker says.

Parker began his career in education at the age of 24 and served students at San Francisco’s inner-city public elementary schools for four decades as a music teacher, followed by 10 years as a volunteer. While pursuing his career in education, Parker became a successful real estate investor. It was success in business that focused his writing, teaching and career as a professional musician. Parker spent 20 years as a member of the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, then 20 years as leader of the Dave Parker Sextet, which twice headlined the San Francisco Fillmore Jazz Festival. His essays have been featured in The Economist, The Financial Times and prestigious law journals.

Scheduled to coincide with the publication of David Parker’s playfully titled newest book, A San Francisco Conservative, a new podcast series sharing that title showcases Parker’s views on the proper role of government and how individuals can arrange for the principles of a free-market economy to work in their favor. As the podcast’s co-host, longtime journalist Tom Martin, has noted, “David Parker’s scholarly approach to the study of political economy provides much-needed historical context to important topics dominating the news, including the progressives’ call for dramatically increased government spending.”

Monster Energy × Dew Tour 2022

The world elite of skateboarding descends on the Midwest! Monster Energy congratulates Brazilian team rider Luiz Francisco on taking second place in the Men’s Skateboard Park final on July 30, 2022. In the night session at Lauridsen Skatepark in Des Moines, Iowa, the 22-year-old from São Paulo rose to the podium with a perfect run in America’s largest outdoor skatepark.

In Friday’s Men’s Skateboard Street final, 29-year-old Kelvin Hoefler from São Paulo, Brazil, secured a podium spot by taking third place against the world elite in a down-to-the-wire contest.

For the second consecutive year, the summer edition of Dew Tour was contested at Lauridsen Skatepark in downtown Des Moines. Built and designed by expert park builders California Skateparks, the competition-grade facility is the largest of its kind in the United States. Spanning 88,000 square feet in size, the concrete outdoor park – operated as a free public park – offers a technical street course as well as a vertical bowl section.

On two action-packed days, more than 40 male and female professional skateboarders and adaptive athletes from across the globe descended on the Midwestern city to compete in Street and Park disciplines from July 29-30,2022. The skateboard contest and festival were open to the public free of charge and broadcast live via web stream across various platforms. The schedule also included the Battle of the Shops contest, featuring skate teams from regional skate shops in a Street competition.

Here’s how the action unfolded for team Monster Energy in Des Moines this weekend:

Men’s Skateboard Park: Monster Energy‘s Luiz Francisco Takes Second Place

The level of progression was on full display in the Men’s Skateboard Park final on Saturday night. The California Skateparks-designed bowl course featured an array of pools, vertical extensions, wallrides, banks, and a centerpiece volcano for creative lines.

The roster of twelve finalists, including several X Games gold medalists and World Cup winners, hailed from three countries: Australia, Brazil, and the United States. Monster Energy‘s Luiz Francisco came to Dew Tour 2022 fresh off claiming the bronze medal at X Games 2022 in Vista the previous weekend.

On Run 1 of the final, the 22-year-old from São Paulo, Brazilian, put down a perfect routine stacked with his signature selection of technical tricks: frontside lipslide the deep end, huge frontside boneless off the flat bank, varial kickflip Indy, hardflip body varial Indy over the hip, frontside feeble grind the extension, kickflip melon over the corner, Indy nosebone, kickflip backside 50-50 pull-in over the center ledge, and frontside blunt earned Francisco 86.33 points and second place.

Also putting on a strong performance in the final, Monster Energy’s Kieran Woolley looked like a lock-in for a podium spot. On the strength of a perfect first run, the 18-year-old from Minnamurra, Australia, held down third place for the majority of the final session.

A perfect routine including backside boneless off the extension box above the bank, frontside nosegrind the vert extension, frontside Smith grind the deep end, frontside boneless the bank, giant backside 540 nosegrab, kickflip Indy over the hip, backside Smith grind the bowl corner, alley-oop frontside 50-50, backside air to disaster, backside wall bash the centerpiece, and Miller flip earned Woolley a strong 84.00-points score. But when the action moved to final attempts of the night, Woolley found himself leapfrogged by Keegan Palmer sliding into third place on Run 3.

Nevertheless, Woolley is currently emerging as an unstoppable force in park skating after claiming the gold medal in Skatepark Park at X Games 2022 the previous weekend and winning the bowl contest at the Copenhagen Open this summer. Keep an eye on this kid!

Men’s Skateboard Street: Monster Energy‘s Kelvin Hoefler Clinches Third Place

The Men’s Skateboard Street final on Friday night featured twelve of the world’s best street skateboarders, representing five countries: Australia, Brazil, France, Japan, and the United States. The field included Olympic Street Skateboarding gold medalist Yuto Horigome as well as Monster Energy‘s Hoefler as the silver medalist from the Tokyo 2020 games.

The rivalry was alive and well during the final session, judged on the highest scoring 45-second run out of three. But as the battle heated up, Monster Energy‘s Kelvin Hoefler was having difficulty stringing together a flawless run, while Japan’s Horigome and Portugal’s Gustavo Ribeiro dueled for the top spot.

Ultimately, Hoefler posted his strongest run on the final attempt of the weekend, thereby using his last chance to rise to the podium. In his last run, Hoefler landed fakie ollie switch frontside bluntslide the rail, 360 kickflip the bump, kickflip backside lipslide the rail, frontside tailslide to fakie the gap ledge, Caballerial frontside boardslide fakie the rail, kickflip frontside lipslide fakie the bump to rail, Half Cab nosegrind 180 the Hubba, and Caballerial backside tailslide fakie the rail for 86.00 points and third place.

Kelvin Hoefler represented Brazil and earned the silver medal in Men’s Skateboard Street at the Tokyo Olympics. He owns five X Games medals, including two gold. Hoefler has taken first place in high-profile competitions such as Dew Tour, Street League Skateboarding, and in 2017 was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for “most wins of the World Cup Skateboarding men’s street world rankings”.

NUFFER – DEADBEAT

As a certified critic of California and of himself, guitarist and vocalist NUFFER releases the second single off of his upcoming debut EP, “Deadbeat.” In his signature, modernized version of early-2000s alternative, this single goes out to everyone who can’t seem to shake their hometown, no matter how hard they try to get away. “Deadbeat” will appear on NUFFER‘s upcoming project A-OKslated to be released on August 16.

“Growing up in California, I used to drive around to the early 2000s rock anthems on the radio and wanted to pay tribute to those songs that defined my childhood,” says NUFFER on today’s release, “‘Deadbeat‘ is a take on the classic hometown anthem. It’s a love letter to San Diego while simultaneously grappling with my own anxieties of feeling like a deadbeat still living in my hometown.

Deadbeat” also arrives today alongside an official video directed by Adam Linssen. Playing up the classic California stereotypes, from the touristy sight seeing destinations, to the malaise of trying to glamorize the uber-mundane, NUFFER tows the line between feeling trapped and ready to break out of his hometown.

On the video, NUFFER said, “Spending a few years in New York coming from the West Coast, I realized there are so many unique things specific to California that don’t necessarily translate to people from other states. Playing off this idea, the concept behind the ‘Deadbeat’ music video was to create a series of inside jokes about California culture. I compiled tropes from San Diego and Los Angeles to satirize some of the landmarks and stereotypes of these cities, even going as for to grow my hair into a mullet for the full ‘SoCal Look.‘”

NUFFER kicked off this new artistic era with last month’s release of the dissonant and supercharged “Big Brain.” A first taste of what to expect off of his debut project, the single was met with a wave of excitement from fans who have followed his previous work and new listeners alike.

On August 16, NUFFER will unveil his debut EP titled A-OK. The tongue-in-cheek project is a brazen commentary on the state of music today. In a world of three-chord songs-of-the-Summer, NUFFER borrows the earworm elements of these hits and adds them to his experimental, technical knowledge of how to manipulate sound. A-OK holds a lens to masochism and self-depreciation, while trying to shake the concept that a person has to be one-dimensional.

Bringing his live show to his new home of Los Angeles, NUFFER will be playing at The Paramount on August 9. Presented by AltAngeles, the show will also feature Rain on Fridays, Street Play and My Veronica. Tickets and more information can be found HERE.

MAGGIE ROGERS – SURRENDER

On July 29, 2022, Capitol Records released Maggie Rogers new album, Surrender – the follow-up to 2019’s Heard It in a Past Life, which entered Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart at No. 1, landed her a GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist and went on to amass over one billion combined global streams. Raw and revelatory, Surrender finds the acclaimed producer/songwriter/performer examining the most complex emotions with fierce, unflinching vulnerability and alchemizing that heightened feeling into her most joyful output yet. Download / stream Surrender.

Earlier this week, Rogers returned to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and performed her new single, Want Want. Praising the song’s “intensity and crunchy guitar tones,” The New York Times said, “this tale of long-sublimated desire-finally finds an explosive expression in its chorus: ‘And I want you.'” V Magazine said, “‘Want Want’ is a booming track, backed by a groovy drumline and Roger’s own powerful vocals.” View the official video for Want Want,” which Rogers shot in a NYC karaoke bar with director Warren FuHERE.

Hailing Rogers as a “pop music prodigy- an artist who’s in it for the long haul,” Rolling Stone said, “She’s someone who can command banjo-strummed roots music, streaming-friendly synth-pop, and anthemic arena rock.” In this feature, The New York Times praised Surrender as “a hypnotically danceable ode to ecstatic abandon, making leaps and navigating worry.” The Associated Press declares, “the new album only solidifies Rogers as one of the most interesting singer-songwriters out there-brash, confident, compelling and occasionally profane.” Consequence observed, “Surrender is a wholly open and vulnerable turn from Maggie Rogers- her writing has gotten all the more sharp and incisive.” SPIN declared, “(Surrender is) a vibrant and provocative studio album-(Rogers) proved herself as an impassion performer ‘with songs designed to blow people away.'”

The album’s first single, That’s Where I Am,” was included on Former President Barack Obama‘s 2022 Summer Playlist and “Best Songs of 2022 (So Far)” lists from Esquire, SPIN and Paste The video features cameos by David ByrneQuil Lemons and Hamilton Leithauser. Watch the clip for new track “Horses” which Rogers co-directed with Michael Scanlon HERE.

In the days leading up to the album’s release, Metrograph in New York City gave fans the opportunity to preview the album – and view three of the films that inspired it – with the “Surrender Film Club,” a three-night series of screening and listening sessions at the independent movie theatre. American Express Card Members had early access to purchase tickets before the general public to last night’s “Maggie Rogers, The Surrender Release Show – Presented by American Express,” a celebratory concert at Webster Hall on the evening of Surrender‘s debut.

After multiple sold-out headline tours and major festival performances in support of Heard It in a Past Life, Rogers retreated to the coast of Maine in early 2020 and completely cut herself off from the noise of the outside world. For months on end, she spent most of her time reading and resting and walking along the jagged cliffs, compelled by the fierce and unforgiving nature of the North Atlantic Ocean. Channeling the ocean’s unruly energy, she soon arrived at the controlled chaos and ecstatic physicality that would come to define Surrender. The album was co-produced by Kid Harpoon and Rogers and recorded in three distinct locations (her parents’ garage in Maine, Electric Lady Studios in New York City, Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios near Bath, England). Over the course of 12 unfettered yet exactingly crafted tracks, Rogers fully captures the frenetic intensity of the last two years of her life, bringing her bracing honesty to stories of anger and peace and self-salvation, transcendence through sex and freedom through letting go. View the album trailer HERE.

Paul McCartney – McCartney I II III Box Set

Written, performed, and produced entirely by Paul McCartney, his three eponymous career-spanning solo albums (1970’s McCartney, 1980’s McCartney II, and 2020’s McCartney III) will now be packaged together and available in one special boxset for the first time.

McCartney I II III box set will be available in three different formats – Limited Edition Color Vinyl, Black Vinyl Edition, and CD – each including three special photo prints with notes from Paul about each album. The newly created boxset cover art and typography for the slipcase are by Ed Ruscha. To pre-order McCartney I II III, please click HERE.

Bookending 50 years of unparalleled work, each album demonstrates Paul McCartney’s restless creativity and adventurous artistic spirit. McCartney, the Number One Album was Paul’s first solo album released in 1970 and features timeless tracks “Every Night” and “Junk,” along with the immortal classic “Maybe I’m Amazed.” This album saw a global music superstar pioneer a novel homespun approach to recording that would, in time, become a sought-after sound and the highly influential precursor to the “lo-fi” alternative genre.

Just as McCartney marked the end of an era with Paul’s first release after leaving the biggest band in history, Paul did it again in 1980, this time signaling the end of 70s rock giants Wings. Taking a fresh approach to things, Paul wrote, performed, and produced the avant-garde masterpiece McCartney IIwhich reached Number One in the UK, and Number 3 in the US, producing such classics as “Coming Up,” “Waterfalls,” and “Temporary Secretary.”

With McCartney III Paul went back to basics again to create some of his most revealing work to date. Released in December 2020, just two years after Paul’s Billboard-topping Egypt Station album, “Rockdown,” saw Paul turn unexpected time on his hands into an opportunity to get into the studio on his own. An intimate and loose record featuring “Find My Way” and the now live favorite “Women and Wives,” McCartney III features Paul’s melodic gift at its forefront throughout. Upon release, McCartney III charted at Number One on the UK’s Official Album Charts and Number One on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart.

In an unrivaled career, Paul has always been willing to take risks and have fun along the way – his musical projects have included classical albums, electronic albums, ballet scores, writing for video games, and left-field collaborations — along the way, breaking chart records, box office records, winning countless awards and remaining one of the world’s most influential and revered artists of all time. McCartneyMcCartney II, and McCartney III captured and documented landmark moments of his singular career, each offering a personal snapshot of a unique artist at a particular moment in time.

BROOKE MORIBER – SAVIOR

On July 22, 2022, Reviver Records recording artist Brooke Moriber today released her powerful new song “Savior.” Listen to the poignant track here.

“I can’t help but help you, but it doesn’t make you stronger.

You’ll fall holding onto me when you call thinking I can be your savior.

“I couldn’t be happier to release a song that is so near and dear to my heart,” said Moriber. “I hope that ‘Savior‘ inspires people to take care of themselves first and foremost and to leave unhealthy situations when their wellbeing is in jeopardy.”

Savior” is an intensely personal track that Moriber penned with Bill DiLuigi and Josh Ronen about learning how to love someone without losing too much of yourself. Produced by Todd Lombardo and Craig Alvin (Kacey Musgraves), “Savior” showcases Moriber‘s strong voice and ever-relevant lyricism.

Entertainment Focus said of “Savior,” “One listen to the track puts me firmly in mind of artists like Carly Pearce and Kelsea Ballerini. Uplifting vocals and soaring arrangements combine to produce an evocative, powerful ballad.”

Moriber‘s previous singles, “Down to Nothing” and “This Town Made Us,” both of which she co-wrote, introduced the former Broadway star to the country music scene. Since then, she has been crisscrossing the country on radio tours and introducing herself to stations as programmers and fans alike fall in love with her thoughtful songwriting and incredible vocals. A recent television performance on “Today in Nashville,” high-profile appearances at “Live in the Vineyard,” an opening stint for Dylan Scott, and performing the National Anthem at the SF Giants game have solidified Brooke as a star on the rise.

When she is not on the road, Moriber has been hard at work in Nashville with some of the industry’s top writers and producers as she continues to record for her upcoming full-length project. Inspired by the likes of Jennifer Nettles, Ingrid Andress, Brandi Carlile and her idol Linda Ronstadt among many others, Brooke is poised to take her place among the biggest voices in country music. For more information on Brooke, visit https://www.brookemoriber.com.
