The Risks of Bad Medical Billing Practices

Medical providers do not pay enough attention to billing. They do it as a necessary process with little thought about doing an effective and efficient job. What they fail to realize is how bad billing practices can lead to potential issues with care and revenue. It can also open them up to legal consequences.

If you are a provider, you need to think about the importance of proper medical billing. Consider how beneficial it could be to your practice and your patients if you simply found better billing solutions.

The Reason Behind Billing Issues

Forbes explains that doctors often rush training on the systems and procedures involved with billing. They simply do not understand how complex it can be or the attention it deserves. Even worse, many offices do not offer training at all. It is a learn as you go type of setup.

The most important aspect of billing that every provider needs to understanding clearly and have proper training on is accurate documentation. Doctors have to document everything they do. If they don’t, they can’t bill for it properly. It also could lead to misunderstandings in the care and other serious issues for patients as they move from doctor to doctor for treatment of various health conditions.

On the flip side, if a doctor doesn’t document care properly, it could result in overbilling the patient. This is just as bad as not charging enough. Doctors need to realize that billing is an essential component of care just like anything else they do.

However, even an excellent billing provider, such as Fortis Medical Billing, cannot avoid issues with bills based on bad documentation. For this reason, doctors need to ensure they get proper training and know how to use documentation systems correctly.

Other Common Billing Problems

Beyond inaccurate and bad documentation, there are a lot of other things that your office may do to make billing more difficult.

Not managing claims and information can lead to a terrible mess when it comes to billing. Each office needs to have someone who can manage claims and stays on top of billing needs. Even if you outsource billing, your office needs to manage what is going out to the billing company.

Failing to inform patients about their responsibilities when it comes to billing is a great way to end up with trouble. With so many insurance plans having high deductibles, patients need to know they will be responsible for payment. If you fail to make them aware, it leads to collections and difficulties in collecting payments due.

Patient information capturing is an essential part of the billing process. When done correctly and completely, it can help prevent problems with submitting claims to insurance companies. It also is important in avoiding confusion among patients and incorrect billing for services.

When your patients get their bills, it should be easy for them to pay and understand. If mistakes happened, it will delay the payment, which affects you the most in the end. You can overcome all of these mistakes that lead to billing issues, but it does take a commitment. It is not enough to provide high-quality medical care. You need to provide quality in every service, including billing.

Knowledge Is Key

One thing you have to keep in mind when it comes to medical billing is that it all starts with you and your office. Billing results depend on you providing accurate information and understanding how the whole system works.

If you cannot provide good documentation and proper information to whoever is handling your billing, then you can expect problems with your billing. You should take time to ensure everyone in your office receives adequate training on documentation and billing procedures. Take a strict stance on this to make sure everyone takes these things seriously. Developing this mindset is really the only way to avoid problems.

His new record production is called “PLATÓNICOS”, and it is without place to doubt, one of the most awaited urban music albums by fans of gender. It is made up of 12 songs produced by the “father” of reggaeton Dj Nelson, with the collaboration with other major producers.

A song very special for the singer, since he himself confessed that it is his favorite song of the entire album “First God, I thank my audience for so much support, you keep my humility intact and the desire to fight for my dreams is on the surface. This disk is the fruit of much effort and I hope you love it, “said Wheeler. Enjoy “PLATÓNICOS” on your favorite digital platform.

JAY WHEELER SURPRISES WITH FRESH SOUND IN “TAKE MY LIFE” FEATURING TYLA YAWEH, WHICH WILL BE PART OF HIS UPCOMING URBAN ENGLISH ALBUM

Today, promising Latin music star, Jay Wheeler released his brand new single and music video “Take My Life” featuring Tyla Yaweh. 360 Magazine was delighted at the energetic energy, passionate lyricism, and flawless production of the sizzling single.

Jay Wheeler is one of the most prominent Latin artists of the moment, garnering over a billion streams and multi-platinum records in the United States and Spain. Recently, his single “Viendo El Techo” (20 million views on YouTube) reached the #1 spot at Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythmic charts, which came after winning the “Nueva Generacion Masculina” award at Univision’s Premios Juventud, continuing to position himself as one of the most sought after Latin artists of this generation.

With “Take My Life,” Jay presents a brand-new side of him completely in English for the first time ever, and mixing 00s emo-punk guitar riffs with today’s alt-pop sounds in a song that talks about losing a love over a mistake you’ve made. “Take My Life” is just a preview of what we’ll see from Jay Wheeler in his new urban English album that will drop in the fall of 2021.

“I used to believe // The love that we had was forever but now I cant let it go // And I couldnt leave // Ive seen in your face that I lost all your trust // And I cant let it go, I lost my soul // I even tried to take my life,” Jay Wheeler sings as the song begins, giving us a glimpse of what the story is about.

For this song, Jay Wheeler teamed up with Tyla Yaweh, the Post Malone-discovered rapper and songwriter, who also steps away from his comfort zone to really showcase his artistic versatility.

“Im so happy to finally present you with this project. Its something Ive always wanted to do and I think it really shows the range of what Im capable of doing. Teaming up with Tyla Yaweh was incredible too, I feel like he really brought the song together and I learned a lot from him in the process, ”Jay Wheeler said.

The music video, directed by Nuno Gomes takes place in an enchanted forest with a lot of ethereal creatures that give life to the story as Jay Wheeler searches for his lost love before it’s too late.

Jay Wheeler became known after a video of him singing went viral in 2016. Thanks to his newfound fame, he decided to pursue a career in music, eventually signing with Dynamic Records in 2018. He went on to release two albums produced by famed DJ Nelson: Platnico (2019) and Platnicos (2020), which included the mega hit that really catapulted him to fame, La Curiosidad“ feat. Myke Towers (592 million views on YouTube).

After the most successful year of his career, he kicked off 2021 experimenting with different genres and sounds, continuing to rake in massive streaming numbers in the 9 and 10 digits, and proving he truly is “la voz favorita” (the favorite voice). We can’t wait to hear whats next from this visionary artist.

“We made many great memories through this track during the hot summer days! Whenever I listen to this song, it makes me think of delightful moments where we spent time together practicing our choreography, shooting the photos and the music video. It’s like a treasure, which makes me extremely happy” says vocalist Seongmin.

Wonjin adds “This track makes us laugh together and brings us lots of energy and happiness. It makes our bond stronger thus making our teamwork improve. It helps us to unite as one.”

The video for “Cloud 9” follows the release of Cravity’s debut album, which caused a wave of intrigue and excitement here in the states, with mentions in PAPER Magazine,  MTV News, and Rolling Stone, who referred to their title track as “An anthemic track from the K-pop rookies that combines 808-style riffs with the melodic sensibilities of early-2000s boybands (extended dance break included).” In addition to that, Cravity made a splash on social media, debuting at No. 12 on Billboard’s Social 50 chart for the week of April 25.

Rapper and leader Serim stated “It’s a great pleasure that we are able to show our fans our very refreshing track ‘Cloud 9.’ It definitely has a different atmosphere from our title track “Break All The Rules,” so please look forward to it!”

Snack Smarts: Raise Your Nutrition IQ

By Simon Sum, DCN, RDN, ACSM-CPT, FAND, Director of North America Scientific Affairs, R&D at Herbalife Nutrition

The good news: nearly 90% of consumers read nutrition labels. The bad news: people don’t always understand the vital nutritional terms on labels. Nutrition IQ is critical to supporting healthy eating habits and reducing the risk of chronic disease. For example, according to The International Food Information Council Foundation, nearly two in three people have heard of nutrient density, but far fewer can explain what it means. And while many consumers now understand that protein is a vital addition to meals, they are less picky about their protein when it comes to snacking.

First, let’s first review why protein is critical to our daily diets. Proteins are essential macronutrients that help to maintain our immune systems and build muscle, bone, skin, and hair. Without consuming the appropriate amounts of protein, you run the risk of missing out on these essential functions. Eventually, that could lead to problems, such as a loss of muscle mass, failure to grow, weakened heart and lung function, and even early death. Available evidence indicates that it’s the quality of protein (or the protein “package”), rather than the amount of protein that likely makes a difference for our health.

Nutrient density is the measure of how much nutrition you get per serving or per calorie eaten and vital to achieving a nutritious diet. When choosing between two food items with the same calorie amount, one food choice can provide your body with the protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals we need every day. In contrast, another option may provide empty calories from sugar and saturated fat with no other significant nutritional benefits.

Snacking often gets a bad rap because many options are loaded with sugar, saturated fat or excessive salt. And the food industry has responded to this challenge with endless “low sugar” and “low sodium” snacks – but that does not mean that the nutritional benefits are increased. The next evolution in the quest for better-than snacks has come in the form of protein labeled options. But while protein is good, not all protein snacks are created equal, and consumers may end up with a food solution that sounds healthy but is not.

One of the challenges with finding nutrient rich snacks is that until recently, there was no tool available for health professionals or food manufacturers to determine the nutrient density of protein snack products. Working with a team at Herbalife Nutrition, we created an index to identify the comprehensive profile of nutrient rich protein snacks. And the results were illuminating for consumers wanting to grab a bite that satisfies their hunger needs but also supports their desire for good quality protein snacks.

Our study, entitled “A Modified Nutrition Rich Food Index to Assess Nutrient Density of Protein Foods and Snacks” presented at last month’s American Society for Nutrition annual meeting, demonstrated that good source protein food products are snacks with vitamins A and D, calcium, and fiber. At the same time, consumers should also look for products with a low amount of saturated fat, sugar, and sodium. As for calorie count – a healthy snack should be 100-150 calories to prevent hunger and maintain satiety before the next meal. So next time you grab a yogurt, shake, or protein bar – don’t just count calories, but also the vitamins and fiber to increase your healthy food options and raise your snacking IQ.

Kiana Releases Cover

KIANA LEDÉ RELEASES COVER OF P!NK’S “DEAR MR. PRESIDENT,”

All NET PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE NAACP EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS

Making a much-needed statement, gold-selling Phoenix-born and Los Angeles-based artist Kiana Ledé unveils her cover of the politically charged P!nk classic “Dear Mr. President.” On the track, Kiana adds her own lyrical touch to the second verse to confront the chaos of the moment head-on addressing immigration and more.

Listen to “Dear Mr. President”: HERE

View tweet from Kiana on the track: HERE

Most importantly, Kiana Ledé and Republic Records pledge to donate all net proceeds from the track to the NAACP Empowerment Programs.

“Through all the crying and pleading, all the protesting and donating, I wanted to do something that is therapeutic for me – singing. I came across the song ‘Dear Mr. President’ by P!nk and realized so many of the lyrics are STILL relevant today. This song was originally released 14 years ago. I hope this song drives people to VOTE because Trump is a symbol of racism and we are facing the impending doom of his re-election. In order for us to follow through, he needs to be replaced.

All net proceeds from the song are being donated to the NAACP Empowerment Programs, which fights for social justice, voter participation, quality education and much more,” says Kiana Ledé on the track. “Dear Mr. President,” which is produced by longtime collaborator and GRAMMY nominated songwriter/producer Michael Woods, arrives on the heels of her acclaimed full-length debut, Kiki. The album notably bowed in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart, Top 5 of the Apple Music R&B/Soul Albums Chart, Top 5 of the iTunes R&B/Soul Albums Chart and Top 10 of the Apple Music Overall Albums Chart.

It has impressively gathered over 30 million streams in addition to receiving tastemaker praise from ELLE, Billboard, Highsnobiety, Vibe and many more. She also made history by shooting the entire music video  for the single “Chocolate” feat. Ari Lennox. The visual just cracked 1.3 million views.

Just who is Kiana Ledé? On the one hand, you know her as a fierce and fiery force in R&B responsible for bangers such as the gold-certified “EX,” “Mad At Me” and “Chocolate” feat. Ari Lennox and has received over 1 billion streams globally and praise from Complex, Vibe, Billboard, ROLLACOASTER Magazine and more. On the other hand, you may recognize her from series such as Scream and All About The Washingtons. But, who is she? “KIKI,” she answers. On her aptly titled full-length debut, she reveals every side of herself: the vulnerability, the vitality, the anger, the lust, the loyalty, the joy, the darkness, and the truth as evinced on song.

Long before all of this, the songstress “from South Phoenix with Black, Mexican, Native American, and White ancestry” grew up between divorced parents. She played classical instruments and competed in pageants—but popped wheelies on dirt bikes and got under the hood to fix a car or two. Eventually, an adventurous spirit carried her from Arizona to Los Angeles where she began a journey that comes full circle in 2020.

Meet KIKI now.

Mavic 2 Pro, drones, 360 MAGAZINE, Jeff Langlois

DJI Mavic 2 Pro

By Jeff Langlois

The outdoors have become much more visually interesting in recent years, extending the vantage point of hikers, city-goers, and overall creatives alike. One central point of concern for landscape photographers is the weight of their packs, and how much equipment they’re willing to bring, versus the reward. The fact that an option for high-resolution aerial images can be nestled in the top compartment of a backpack is a technological revolution alone. Lifting a Hasselblad camera high in the air just a few years ago would have cost a pretty penny. Now DJI is doing just that with the Mavic 2 Pro, but at a modest price of $1,800.

One of the drone’s most impressive capabilities is reflected in conditions in which creatives can fly it. As every outdoorsman knows, the more scenic areas come often with high winds e.g., coastlines, high peaks, and sprawling deserts. While it’s easy for the wind to blow and disrupt a 32-ounce Mavic 2 Pro, the gimbal stabilization system counterbalances those tilts and turns to keep the 4K image smooth and steady. DJI offers a smart controller with a viewing screen, but when it’s important to preserve weight, plugging a smartphone into the basic controller will operate the drone to its full capacity.

There’s an option to purchase the Care Refresh Package to insure any damages on the drone for the year, so these creators can feel more comfortable pushing the envelope to get dynamic shots. This $150 yearly policy was good to have when shooting Ethan Solu surfing in Morro Bay, or capturing the unforgiving and exotic sand dunes of the Mojave Desert. The Mavic 2 Pro is proving to surpass expectations in terms of image quality, transportation, and price. Creatives are eager to see what DJI has in store for the future.
