Trends within the cannabis industry

There is so much happening in the cannabis industry and so many things that attract attention. Cannabis is starting to be legalized across many parts of the world after being an illegal substance for a very long time. The stigma that surrounded cannabis is slowly starting to fade as well and society, in general, is beginning to embrace this herb. Medical marijuana is also something that is starting to become very popular in society and this has contributed towards the growth of the cannabis industry and today about 158.8 million people use marijuana around the world. There are some trends within the cannabis industry that have resulted in the evolution of the industry, such as the sale of dry herb vaporizers at online stores like MagicVaporizers, and these trends, which will be discussed in this article, are fuelling the popularity of marijuana.

Rise of CBD

CBD, which is one of the main active ingredients in the cannabis plant, has become increasingly popular. Unlike THC, CBD does not produce any psychoactive effects, instead, it provides users with many health benefits. Researchers and medical professionals are intrigued by CBD and new information about the chemical is constantly being released. A few of the health benefits of CBD include:

  • Pain relief
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Anxiety relief
  • Anti-depressant
  • Induces sleep
  • Increases appetite

It is legal to buy CBD products in the United States and many other places around the world making CBD legal. There are many benefits that you get from CBD including the many health benefits without the psychoactive high.

Cannabis tourism

Ask anyone 50 or even 20 years ago and they would tell you that they would never predict that cannabis tourism would become a trend in society. Cannabis tourism allows individuals to embark on tours while consuming cannabis. The tours provide people with the opportunity to enjoy leisure time while enjoying a nice high and they are very popular. An example of cannabis tourism is the Tweed Visitor Centre located in Smiths Falls where you can take a tour of real grow rooms and you can even watch them make chocolate edibles. You can attend a cannabis café, a tour, a festival, or even take a ride on a tour bus while smoking a lovely strain. The fact that this is even a thing shows just how much society is embracing cannabis and how popular it is. These tours are great for the cannabis industry as well as for the economy.

Edibles and beverages

Edibles and beverages are consumables that are infused with cannabis. During the cooking or brewing process, cannabis is added and this allows it to infuse into the product so that when it is consumed, you feel the effects of the substance. This is one of the easiest ways to consume cannabis and people love it because the high is more potent and it lasts much longer than when you consume through other methods such as smoking for example. The benefit of consuming marijuana this way is the reduced health risk and you can infuse any edible or beverage with cannabis including ice cream, brownies, tea, and beer.

Topicals

Topicals are another popular cannabis trend and it is when lotions, creams, oils, or balms are infused with cannabis. To consume this way, you simply apply the topical onto your skin and wait for the effects. People consume cannabis this way because it does not produce a psychoactive high and when topicals are applied to your muscles or joints, it relieves pain and stiffness. This method of consumption is very popular amongst athletes. An example of a topical is CBD-infused coconut oil that you can apply to your skin.

Terp sauce

Terp sauce is not widely known however it is trending within the cannabis industry. It is a marijuana extract that consists of more than 50% terpenes which is a very fragrant oil that is found in different plants, including the cannabis plant and terpenes are responsible for the plant smell and unique taste. Terp sauce also contains cannabinoids as well as other compounds. You can consume terp sauce by dabbing it or simply adding it to your vaporizer, bong, pipe, or joint. People consume marijuana this way because it is very potent and the benefits are that it is good for relaxation and mood elevation.

Georgel × No PutX

Today, queer singer, songwriter, and “funky Mexicano soul” Georgel released his new single “No PutX – Spotify Singles” together with Molotov’s vocalist Tito Fuentes.

“NO PUTX – Spotify Singles” was selected as the first Pride Spotify Exclusive Single by a Mexican Artist. The track is a neo hip-hop that talks about the homophobia and hypocrisy of Latin society in a satirical way, and reaffirms the empowerment of an LGBTQIA+ demonstration that demands equality and justice.

In 1997, legendary Mexican band Molotov released the song “Puto” to a very different audience from the one that exists in 2021. Originally a song of criticism towards Mexican politicians, it became a shadow of homophobia, characteristic of Mexico and Latin America. Now, the word ‘puto’ is forced to redefine itself, since there is no longer any place for criticism for sexual identity or gender identity.

By bringing attention to the real origin of words such as  ‘puto’ or ‘maricón,’ hopefully this song will contribute to the eradication of their use in our vocabulary,” Georgel said. In Georgel’s mind, the only way to achieve it, was by getting together with “Puto’s” original creator, Molotov’s lead vocalist Tito Fuentes, and together write a song that made clear that ‘PUTO’ is no way to refer to anybody, especially any member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

For Molotov, this is a way to reaffirm their own commitment to support and stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community.

The music video, which premiered exclusively on Billboard, is a visual masterpiece that shows Georgel fiercely confronting different scenarios of torture similar to many conversion therapy methods. “I wanted to make a short music film about the the many different forms of abuse that members of the LGTBQIA+ community suffer, and how a ‘simple slur’ such as ‘puto’ can torture a human spirit,” Georgel said.

With “No Putx – Spotify Singles,” Georgel is taking back a word that was used to hurt him, and removing its power over him. He’s turning it into any other word by removing the taboo, stigma, and the negative connotation that it has, that way, it won’t have power over anyone. “The only thing that’s ‘puto’ is the ‘puto’ machismo” Georgel says.

10 facts about Anxiety Disorder

Vinay Saranga M.D. is a psychiatrist and founder of Saranga Comprehensive Psychiatry. He offers these 10 facts about anxiety disorders:

1. There’s a difference between anxiety and an anxiety disorder:

Everybody experiences anxiety from time to time. It quite often presents itself when we are feeling scared, stressed or worried and that’s normal anxiety. People with a true anxiety disorder experience both psychological and physiological symptoms on a regular basis, and in many cases, it can be debilitating.

2. Anxiety disorders encompass a number of psychiatric conditions:

An anxiety disorder is not just someone who experiences excessive worry. A number of psychiatric conditions makeup anxiety disorders including: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

3. Anyone can develop an anxiety disorder:

Anxiety disorders are not just reserved for people who tend to worry a lot. Anyone can develop an anxiety disorder because there are a number of factors that come into play including your environment, upbringing, genetics and chemical imbalances in the brain.

4. Anxiety symptoms aren’t always obvious:

Most people think of excessive worry and stress as symptoms of anxiety. That is true, but there are also other symptoms that you may not associate with anxiety such as racing thoughts, chest pains, difficulty breathing, irritability, loss of appetite, headaches, trouble sleeping and increased heart rate.

5. Anxiety disorders can be managed:

Many anxiety disorders bring about very unpleasant body sensations. Although they can be quite scary and even uncomfortable, it is possible to learn to control them and lead a very successful and fulfilling life despite your condition.

6. Treatment should be started as soon as possible:

Like any medical condition, the sooner you can start treatment for an anxiety disorder, the better. The longer it goes without getting help, the more severe your condition can become. There are many great treatment options available including medication, therapy, alternative treatments and self-help options.

7. There’s no reason to suffer:

Millions of people have been diagnosed with anxiety disorders. But unfortunately, so many more are silently suffering. Men in particular have a tough time seeking treatment due to the fear of being labeled weak or being seen as less of a man. There is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about.

8. There is an upside to anxiety:

For all the negative things we hear about anxiety, there is some good that comes from it. Chances are you are more cautious, very compassionate, kind, a good listener, and think before you act. In fact, whether you realize it or not, many of the characteristics that you may not like about yourself make you more attractive to others.

9. Too much anxiety can affect your health:

In the short term, there’s nothing dangerous about the physical sensations of anxiety. However, in the long run, if left untreated, anxiety disorders can take a toll on the body and lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, GI problems and other psychiatric conditions.

10. We must continue to erase the stigma:

In recent years, anxiety and mental illness as a whole has become more accepted by society. However, it is still not on the same level as more physical illnesses. The responsibility is on all of us to erase the stigma and be more accepting of those who struggle with their mental health.

HIV Dating App

Hzone, an innovative social networking app which is available on both Google Play store and Apple iTunes store, is designed to help HIV-infected singles to find companions and social support.

Hzone, a smartphone app specifically designed for HIV dating, was designed to make it possible for HIV-infected people to find the much-needed emotional support from society itself. Justin R, who was present at a recent press conference, claimed that the app could help people to increase their social engagements.

“People who are HIV-infected find dating and finding new friends excruciatingly difficult, as they are often subjected to HIV-related stigma as well as discrimination. However, medical science has proved that HIV-affected people can marry and even have kids. However, if someone is going to date an HIV-infected person or the other way around, both should be a little more careful and take a bit more responsibility than usual if they are going on a date or thinking about marriage,” said Justin, the CEO and managing director of Hzone.

“Hzone is a social networking app which we developed to help HIV singles and people from the LGBT community to socialize. It uses the location of the user’s phone to help people find similar-minded people nearby. The app also comes with a ‘Quick Match’ feature, which helps people to find and meet really interesting people by just swiping their screen to their ‘right’. If the other user likes back, it means that the duo can form a great pair as good friends. Our VIP members can even chat with other members as we do not put any restriction on chatting for our VIP members,” added Justin R.

As of now, Hzone is available on both Google Play store and Apple iTunes store.

The developer also informed that the users of the app can view other people who might be interested in the same fields or topics as them. Users are also allowed to share their experience on the social networking app with the entire community and express themselves in the most creative way possible.

Justin R said, “We cannot control all things in life and bad things sometimes happen, but we should always react to these changes positively. Our app could help HIV-infected people to find true love and emotional support from within society.”
