PSG NY Location

Ten years after touring the US for the first time, soccer giant Paris Saint-Germain will open its first-ever east coast flagship store in New York City. Located at 587 5th Ave, the brand-new flagship store will be the first-ever official boutique in New York City for an international sports club.

This opening is part of the Club’s innovative global merchandising partnership with Fanatics announced in 2020. It will see retailing giant Lids brought in to open and operate the store. It is a new step for Paris Saint-Germain’s international development after successfully opening its first US store in collaboration with Fanatics and Lids in Los Angeles one year ago. The PSG official boutique in New York will be the club’s largest store outside of France and will add to the club’s growing international retail network which now includes three boutiques in Japan (two in Tokyo and one in Nagoya), one in Seoul, South Korea and two in Doha, Qatar.

The new store will feature an extensive product assortment of team jerseys, headwear, accessories, with a full range of Nike and Jordan teamwear, one-of-a-kind collabs, fashion collections, and NY-inspired Paris Saint-Germain designs exclusively available at the new location. This one-stop destination for Paris Saint-Germain fans in NYC and those from traveling all over the world will get to experience a customization station, a signature feature present in many Lids retail locations for fans to further personalize their Paris Saint-Germain gear on-site. In addition, collectibles such as exclusive signed game and non-game jerseys as well as other team items will be available for purchase.

“Once again Paris Saint-Germain is leading the way by bringing a flagship store right to the heart of New York City, one of the world’s iconic intersections of sports, culture, and fashion,” said Zohar Ravid, Senior Vice-President, Head of Global Corporate Development at Fanatics. “The club is always pushing new boundaries and we are delighted to once again team up with our partners at Lids to expand its global retail presence in a key international market and help the club on its journey to becoming one of the most culturally relevant sports clubs and brands in the world.”

“We are thrilled to bring a globally recognized team and brand with Paris Saint-Germain and flagship store opening in New York City,” said Lawrence Berger, Co-Founder and Partner at Ames Watson and Chairman of FanzzLids Holdings, which is the owner of Lids. “This is an exciting moment for Lids and Paris Saint-Germain fans as they now have an exclusive place to purchase the latest fashions, plus the ability to customize product in-store.”

“Paris Saint-Germain brand development over the last 10 years is truly unique. Becoming the first sports team to open an official boutique in New York City is a key milestone to establish the club as one of the greatest sports brands in the world,” said Fabien Allègre, Brand Director at Paris Saint-Germain. “We are delighted to work with Fanatics to reinforce our presence in North America and to have a retail expert in Lids operating the store. The club is now the number four sports club in the world on social media and our fanbase, worldwide and especially in the US, is growing exponentially. Over 160 million fans follow our team every day. New York is the pinnacle of that growth. We are excited for Paris Saint-Germain supporters from all over the world to experience this new store event and be part of Paris Saint-Germain unique project.”

In celebration of this opening, Paris Saint-Germain and NYC-based boutique creative studio Fly Nowhere have launched an innovative initiative developing special projects and collaboration merchandise. Co-branded product drops will be inspired by local motifs in celebration of PSG landing in New York. These drops will be available exclusively at the PSG NYC and Paris flagship stores.

To celebrate this monumental moment, Lids and Paris Saint-Germain will hold a Grand opening event of the store on Friday, March 18th.

ERIC CANTONA LAUNCHES LOOKING FC

Former captain of Manchester United Eric Cantona announced the launch of his very own travel brand in collaboration with DHARMA, the travel organization that has released travel brands such as Equinox and Culture Trip.

Cantona commented on the inspiration for the travel brand, stating, “Our idea was to create the most passionate football trips on earth, with charisma and soul. Everything today is optimized for price – we wanted to optimize for passion.”

Looking FC, named after the Looking For documentary series produced by Cantona and his brothers (Canto Bros Productions), includes 4-day trips produced by Cantona himself. Guests are taken along an exclusive experience traveling global football cities through the point-of-view of the world’s leading clubs and their devoted fans. Each trip concludes with a Game Day experience seated in the passion sections of stadiums showcased for big League and Champions League competitions. If the Game Day experience wasn’t enough, trips also consist of immersive experiences like fan chant workshops, sports-themed graffiti tours and method briefings with journalists.

The nine trips included this season consist of Manchester (United), Buenos Aires (Boca), Liverpool (Liverpool), Milan (Inter), Madrid (Real Madrid), Barcelona (Barca), Paris (PSG), Lisbon (Sporting), and Casablanca (Raja), with thrilling events planned including Liverpool v Manchester United at Anfield, a Real Madrid v FC Barcelona El Clásico at Bernabeu, and a PSG v Marseille Le Classique at the Parc des Princes. Scheduling is intended for groups but is available to be booked privately to enjoy with your friends and families.

Pricing starts at 1,290 Euros per person based on double occupancy. Included in each ticket is all accommodations, experience, most meals, guides and game tickets.

Looking FC showcases the use of a people, plant and profit approach; in the first-of-its-kind partnership with Common Goal, Looking FC will donate 1% of its returns to fund the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals Initiative. The trips are designed with intention to strengthen local businesses, and each trip is carbon offset through Thrust Carbon.

The Heat Is On: All English Champions League Final

The Premier League is often cited as the world’s greatest soccer league. Full of bitter rivalries and immense talent, people from around the world tune in each week to watch the English league. That’s why the upcoming UEFA Champions League final feels special. Set to take place on May 29, the imminent Premier League title winners in Manchester City face off against the titans that are Chelsea FC. It’s hard to say who will get their hands on the coveted trophy.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is no stranger to a Champions League final, having won it twice with Barcelona over a decade ago. However, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel reached the final with PSG just last year, narrowly missing out on grabbing the title. Manchester City is edging the competition as favorites in the UEFA Champions League Final betting, though, with odds of -200 compared to Chelsea’s +163. Despite this, it’s not an easy game to call. Chelsea have already beaten the Man City twice this season, even though they’re a few places below them in the league table. With two of the best managers in the world going face to face, these previous results suggest an interesting match to say the least.

The Pressure Is On

Pep Guardiola may have won the Champions League twice with Barcelona, but his success in Europe since that stint has been very limited. Without denying the weight of his achievements, the Barcelona team he managed is often referred to as one of the best teams to have ever graced a soccer pitch.

In terms of his European record with Manchester City, Pep has failed to make much of an impact, and some pundits suggest that this will put Pep under more pressure than his opponent. While this is undoubtedly a possibility, some have argued that his European experience will put him in a better position than his opponent.

Tuchel took over as Chelsea manager after the firing of Frank Lampard in January. Since then, he has guided his club to a top four spot in the Premier League, an FA Cup final and a Champions League final. Needless to say, that’s pretty impressive for his first few months on the job. Regardless of his achievements this season, his European football pedigree is much less full than Guardiola’s.

He managed to reach the Champions League final with Paris Saint Germain last year, but came away empty-handed. Will the same happen again this time, or will Chelsea beat Manchester City for the third time within a year?

May The Best Team Win

Just one look at the history of these two teams and their respective managers makes for an interesting pairing. City, who became a super team relatively recently, have a very experienced manager in Pep Guardiola. Chelsea, who have dominated soccer games for longer, have a somewhat new but extremely exciting manager in Thomas Tuchel.

When you take all of this into account, it’s easy to imagine that the world is in store for an extremely exciting game. May the best team win.

LOUIS VUITTON × FIFA 2018

Louis Vuitton opens Pop-Up Store dedicated to The FIFA World CupTM Official Licensed Product Collection at Miami Design District

Louis Vuitton opens a special pop-up store at Miami Design District dedicated to the FIFA World CupTM Official Licensed Product Collection. The pop-up store will be open to the public from June 14th through July 15th and designed with the collection’s inspiration in mind.

Since 2010, Louis Vuitton provided a travel case for one of the world’s most sought-after, legendary trophies of the world: the FIFA World CupTM Trophy. For FIFA World CupTM Russia 2018, Louis Vuitton’s relationship with FIFA World CupTM has grown to encompass a new leather good collection: the Louis Vuitton 2018 FIFA World CupTM Official Licensed Product Collection.

The pop-up store features unique versions of Keepall and Apollo bags, and a selection of small leather goods inspired by the legendary Official Match Ball of the 1970 FIFA World CupTM. Made with the House’s iconic Epi leather first introduced in the 1920s, the styles will be proposed in up to three colors combinations.

The hexagon design is created using a three-stage embossing procedure that is both innovative and based upon the House’s historic savoir-faire, allowing each coloured hexagon to have a richly textured feel, reminiscent of classic footballs.

For a more exclusive version, a “Made-To-Order” Keepall is proposed in a rich palette of 8 pentagon colors. Each of them can be associated with one of the 5 colors of trimmings to create a Keepall in the colors of almost any national flag. Completing this sophisticated offer, an Epi leather luggage tag could be embossed with one of 35 national flags, including the nations taking part in the competition.

The new pop up store will present a unique, limited-edition FIFA World CupTM Official Match Ball Collection Trunk that is set to become an instant collector’s item. Based on the House’s traditional wardrobe trunks, it opens to reveal a stunning collection of 14 footballs: 13 reeditions of the Official Match Balls used at FIFA World CupTM tournaments since 1970, all fabricated especially for this project by adidas, and one Louis Vuitton designed football.
