Essential Makeup Tips for Your Next Concert or Music Festival

Despite struggling with postponements and cancellations during the infamous global health crisis, there’s no denying that concerts and live music events are back in full force. 

According to concert and event producer Live Nation, concert attendance reached 145 million in 2023, representing a 20% increase from 2022. In North America alone, ticket sales of the top 100 tours increased from $4.77 billion in 2022 to $6.63 billion the following year. 

Meanwhile, major music festivals in the US are also booming, with Coachella attracting approximately half a million attendees across two weekends. The same can be said for live events outside of the region. Top European music festivals, such as the Barcelona-based Primavera Sound and the star-studded Glastonbury Festival, recorded attendees of more than 268,000 and 200,000, respectively.

Whether you’re anticipating local acts or planning to travel to different countries to see your favorite artists, concerts and music festivals are more than just a way to enjoy live musical performances. Following the unprecedented success of the Bentley Blower Jnr’s launch, with first editions rapidly selling out, Hedley Studios has now launched its highly-anticipated configurable options for the electrified reimagining of the iconic British racer.

Unveiled to the world in 2023, the Bentley Blower Jnr is an 85% scale recreation of the marque’s legendary 1929 4½-Litre Supercharged ‘Blower’, and all first editions are now sold out. As such, clients can now make use of Hedley Studios’ configurator to design their very own Bentley Blower Jnr, or choose from one of six carefully curated packs, each paying tribute to Bentley’s immersive and legendary history. 

‘The Blue Pack’, for example, harks back to Woolf Barnato’s famous race against the Blue Train, from the Côte d’Azur to Calais, in which Barnato provided triumphant behind the wheel of his Bentley Speed Six. In a similar vein, ‘The Grey Pack’ pays tribute to the Speed Six that took victory at Le Mans in 1929 and 1930, before being converted by Barnato into road-going coupé finished in a visceral gunmetal grey.  

Giving clients a truly personal experience, an all-new online configurator will enable them to build and commission a Bentley Blower Jnr that is entirely bespoke and unique to them. With thousands of possible configurations, from colourways and interior trims to tonneau covers and specific race numbers, the opportunities for personalisation will be almost endless. Lauren Rottet + Global Design News

Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, internationally celebrated architect, designer, founding principal/president and owner of Rottet Studio, was presented with the prestigious Prize Designs for Modern Furniture + Lighting® Award from Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum for her Rottet Collection 2023 Seating and Bed range.  She claimed additional honors from the Swiss-based SIT Furniture Design Awards for the Ovo Mirrors and Willow Table as well as accolades from Houston’s 2024 Paper City Design Awards. “I am thrilled to receive both national and international recognition for my product designs,” said Rottet.

Originally founded by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in 1959, the Prize Designs program has been relaunched seven decades later by Global Design News in tandem with The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. It was conceived to encourage the best of contemporary design.  The jury convened in June and selected over 70 new designs worthy of the Prize from over 24 nations.

Phillip Leeds, a mainstay within the music and fashion industries, compiles eight years of original photography in BIG SHOTS!! Volume 2. Over 500 color Polaroid pictures of household names are archived in this new edition, out today courtesy of Blurring Books, the Brooklyn-based publisher. 

Over the weekend, Phillip Leeds hosted a BIG SHOTS!! launch party in Los Angeles in partnership with lifestyle brand Pleasures. The collaboration between Leeds & Pleasures was a continuation of events from earlier this year’s preview at Paris Fashion Week. The author brings BIG SHOTS!! to his hometown of New York City on September 11th with Awake NY. Other dates are to be announced soon via @BigShotsBook

In 2017, Phillip Leeds released the critically-acclaimed & wildly popular book BIG SHOTS! (Rizzoli) Described at the time as capturing a generation of artists and celebrities just as Andy Warhol: Red Books defined a previous era. Vaughn Lowery, an international talent and mixed media artist, is organizing an art-filled evening that celebrates emerging artists in the heart of Asia. Hosted by 360 MAGAZINE and the Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh.

On the 27th sky lounge and reading area, local artists will display a few of their works on easels and/or built-in shelving. In real-time, 360’s website will be linked to every installation through a QR-CODE. Their artist statement and displayed items will be listed there.

The all-day on-site dining includes a plethora of pan-Asian and western cuisine options for business types to choose from. Located on the 27th floor and open to the general public, the floor-to-ceiling windows offer a cinematic view of the city. It’s a mind-blowing experience as you enjoy fried rice, a classic hamburger, or even a club sandwich. Each day, the breakfast buffet is available from 6am-10am. It’s one of the most extravagant meals offered of the day. It includes bacon, salad, ham, fruit, omelet, vegan, bread, waffle, and juice station. It’s incredibly detailed and unmatched. Also, there’s a dinner buffet offered on Fridays for an additional fee, and rumor has it that it’s worth it!

Also, a great venue for banquets, weddings, receptions, and business conferences. What makes it distinct? Enjoy panoramic views of the entire city while sipping on some of the best mixed cocktails in town on the 44-45th floors. The food and beverage team at this location is exceptional. They’re constantly raising the bar by offering an array of innovative handcrafted adult beverages that pair nicely with their menu options.

Their rooms are beautifully decorated, and most have similar floor plans with various bed options. We thoroughly enjoyed our deluxe king. It offered high speed Wi-Fi; Kohler sink and faucet; Samsung 55″ TV w/ screen mirroring capabilities; Bluetooth JVD alarm clock and speaker; beautiful views, ranging from 29 to 43 levels; a 10-foot long couch; small round computer table; sit-down rainfall shower encapsulated in glass; recessed lighting; makeup mirror; and sliding opaque glass partitions that allow you to reconfigure your space. One of the most ergonomic and smartest rooms on the market, it allows for longer stays with comfort and connectivity. After all, who doesn’t want to carry a small amount of their electronics, cameras, etc. with them? Their rooms are well-equipped with enough technology to enable you to pack less than usual and leave enough room for souvenirs when you return home.

To put it succinctly, the Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh is an important player in a small yet competitive market. This home-away-from-home and a treasure in the Pearl of Asia is made possible by the exceptional access to guest services and a 24-hour open-air market.
