Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae

Automobili Lamborghini announces the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae: a celebration of the iconic V12 super sports car and combustion engine in a final production model, concentrating the purest features of all Aventador editions into a perfect finale. The Aventador LP 780-4 harnesses the performance of the SVJ and intensifies the sophisticated elegance of the Aventador S, converging design and dynamism into a decisive collector’s piece in both coupé and roadster forms.

“The Aventador LP 780-4 denotes the final, purest, timeless naturally-aspirated production V12 Lamborghini,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini“It delivers the essential twelve-cylinder experience in terms of inimitable design, engineering solutions and the most emotive driving experience, and is the definitive Aventador concluding an extraordinary era. It is the last of its kind: it delivers the maximum power and conclusive performance expected from Lamborghini’s current V12 engine, combined with our inimitable flagship’s design DNA. The Aventador was destined to become a classic from launch, and the Aventador LP 780-4 is the most beautiful expression of timeless design and technical solutions in a final edition: Ultimae.”

After more than a year where events worldwide were cancelled due to the pandemic, the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae coupe and roadster will be displayed at the UK’s 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed in front of automotive enthusiasts and owners.

Power and performance

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae’s elegant lines belie the performance of this final edition. The twelve-cylinder, 6.5-liter ‘Longitudinale Posteriore’ (LP) engine delivers 780 CV: 40 CV more than the Aventador S and 10 CV over the SVJ to its permanent four-wheel drive. The LP 780-4 Ultimae celebrates the visceral character, power and performance of the Lamborghini’s Aventador’s ten-year evolution, including the know-how of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife record SVJ powertrain set in July 2018; the super sports technical advances and luxury of the S mode; and the purity of the original Aventador concept. It is the grand finale of the traditional V12 combustion engine, and the ultimate Aventador in every sense.

The Aventador LP 780-4’s unique, extremely rigid and lightweight carbon fiber monocoque, and extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the body, contributes to its dry weight of just 1,550 kg. The coupé version, weighing 25 kg less than the Aventador S, delivers the same weight-to-power ratio as the SVJ at 1.98 kg/CV accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 355 km/h, with 720 Nm of torque at maximum 6750 rpm, and optimized VVT (Variable Valve Timing) and VIS (Variable Intake System) for an optimised torque curve. Its CCB braking system delivers 100 km/h to standstill in just 30 m.

Lateral control is optimized through four-wheel steering, introduced on the Aventador S, ensuring agility at low and medium speeds and enhanced stability at high speed. Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) on the front axle is calibrated for responsive feedback with sharp turn-in while adapted to integrate with the active rear-wheel steering on the rear axle: separate actuators respond in five milliseconds to drivers’ steering movements, allowing a real-time adjustment to steering angles enhancing cornering properties.

The LP 780-4 Ultimae’s design adopts a specific front bumper concept for increased aero load on the front, with longitudinal performance similar to the SVJ. The ESC is calibrated for fast, precise traction control and vehicle dynamics, recognizing and adapting to differences in grip, including on low-grip surfaces such as snow and ice. The permanent four-wheel drive, due to the rear-wheel steering, is calibrated to allow more torque to the rear axle so that when powering off, less torque is shifted to the front axle to allow sporty but safe over-steer behavior. The systems are managed by Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA) that processes precise, real-time information on body motion via sensors, thus defining the best response of all active systems to deliver the best vehicle dynamics in every condition.

Delivering the state of the art aerodynamic performance, the front splitter and open ‘mouth’ of the LP 780-4 directs additional airflow to optimize aerodynamic efficiency, engine and radiator cooling. The front bumper’s airducts and side cooling inlet reduce aerodynamic interference from the front tires and optimize wake flow to the rear radiator, with the Ultimae’s lightweight rear bumper completing the dynamic exterior and celebrating the SVJ’s track-oriented heritage.

The active aero system’s rear wing moves into three positions – closed, ‘maximum performance’ and ‘maximum handling’ – dependent on speed and the drive mode selected, optimizing the car’s overall balance and working with vortex generators created in the front and rear of the chassis’ underside to maximize air flow and assist with brake cooling. Transmission is via Lamborghini’s lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed shifting system, providing robotized gearshifts in up to 50 milliseconds.

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae’s drive modes allow the pilot to select not only STRADA, SPORT and CORSA dynamic options, but in EGO mode choose their own parameters for optimum set-up of the Lamborghini active suspension (LMS), traction controls (engine, gearbox and four-wheel drive) as well as steering.

A final production masterpiece – Ultimae

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae celebrates the Lamborghini Aventador’s complex yet elegant lines and surfaces: the culmination of Lamborghini’s aspirated-V12 design legacy. Paying homage to the benchmark performance of the SVJ and the ageless super sports elegance of the S model, it takes the best components of both to create a perfect balance between performance and dynamism with an enduring sophistication.

A new palette of options for exterior and interior is created for owners of the 350 coupés and 250 roadsters numbered editions of the Ultimae, offering a refined yet dynamic, elegant yet distinctive representation of the last Aventador. Its silhouette, clean and unfettered, is as recognizable and timeless an outline as other V12 Lamborghini classics such as Countach, Diablo and Murciélago. The new collection of tone-on-tone colors are elegant while recalling the Aventador’s powerful original design cues taken from the world of aeronautics. Offered as standard are 18 colors, with an unprecedented range of options and more than 300 colors available through Lamborghini Ad Personam, allowing owners to create their own, unique piece of Lamborghini V12 motoring history.

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae coupé is launched in a two-tone, grey-on-grey configuration, with lines and details such as the front splitter’s outline and ‘teeth’ picked out in matt red Rosso Mimir, with the accent line continuing along the car with matching accents on the rear fins of the visible carbon fiber rear diffuser: elite performance and design purity in perfect harmony. On the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster, the roof is also offered in visible carbon fiber.

The matt Grigio Acheso and Grigio Teca external colors’ elegant yet sporty two-tone is echoed in the interior: black leather and Alcantara base materials feature stitching and trim in a complementary grey to the exterior, with ‘Y’ seat inserts in black Alcantara. An optional laser cut ‘Y’ repeat motif with contrast backing color on seats and dashboard, distinguishes the Ultimae model: a dynamic, stylistic feature offered for the first time. The LP 780-4’s comfort seat is taken from the Aventador S, with the ‘Ultimae’ name embroidered into the seat bolster, while the A-pillar driver dashboard area carries the 001 of 350/250 reference to the limited edition.

The client can play with the ‘S’ line highlights in seat, door and dash trims with three standard colors, (silver, bronze and white), a further five foptional colors and, of course, the almost infinite spectrum of options through Lamborghini Ad Personam. A standard carbon fiber package CFK highlights exterior and interior features, and the exterior is available in a matt finish to match the exterior colors with low gloss.

Silver Dianthus 20” and 21” forged alloys come as standard together with further 20” and 21” options in Dianthus, Leiron and Nireo in bronze, black and titanium, fitted with Pirelli PZero Corsa tires. The exterior features the extension of the color accent livery in three colors: white, silver and bronze matching the accent on the front bumpers and the rear diffuser fins. Silver calipers as standard are joined by a range of further optional caliper colors that are echoed in the wheel monolock.

The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster is launched in Blu Tawaret and Blu Nethuns with the roof panels in high gloss black carbon fiber.

The driver and passenger environment is just as refined: the customizable TFT digital dashboard displays driver modes as well as controlling in-car connectivity. Apple CarPlay manages voice activated communications and entertainment, with the Lamborghini telemetry system available as an option for those wanting to celebrate the last Aventador on track.

From launch, the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae will be available in both coupe and roadster configurations in the Lamborghini network with the exception of the markets: Mainland China, South Korea, Vietnam, Brazil and Chile.

Protoje × Self Defense

One of today’s most influential reggae artists, Protoje, tells a tale of retribution in his brand new video for “Self Defense,” the single from his latest album In Search of Lost Time (In.Digg.Nation Collective/Six Course Music/RCA Records). The Jamaican lyricist addresses distrust in his country’s government and takes a vigilante approach to control the bad-minded people running the streets. The visual, directed by Rebecca Williams, shows a group of women taking matters into their own hands to expose a man of his horrific crime.

“This is one of my favorite songs from the album and I decided to do a video for it because I feel like I wanted it to be almost like a declaration or call to attention regarding how we treat our women, especially as men. I wanted the story to be told from a woman’s perspective – and that’s how I linked up with the director, Rebecca. She’s an awesome storyteller & I think she did a great job with this video,” Protoje states.

On the track, Protoje talks about the hypocrisies of a patriarchal system and how it supports domestic violence and abuse. “Me hear some man a say them rather rape than turn a gay. As if dem deh ting deh related in any way. You nuh see say a some sicko them mentality. The patriarchy propagate all of them fallacy. Even in the church the violation prevalent Jehovah, you nuh witness, tell me that no relevant. Dem deh business cyaa exist inna we regiment. A self defense and we no hesitant.”

Protoje is no stranger calling out misogyny and has made a concerted effort to help shift that paradigm. Within his own industry, he has signed and supported an all female roster of Jamaican artists including Sevana, Lila Iké and Jaz Elise through his label and artist management company In.Digg.Nation Collective to represent the full spectrum of talent that his island has to offer.

Protoje’s fifth studio album In Search of Lost Time stays in rotation since its release on August 28, 2020. He colored outside the lines for a cinematic, ethereal, multi-genre LP and executive produced the entire project and co-produced five out of the thirteen original tracks. Now the vinyl edition to In Search of Lost Time is available for pre-orderwith shipments expected in September.

Heather Skovlund Graham & Brown illustration for 360 Magazine

Interview With Graham and Brown

Graham & Brown was founded by Harold Graham and Henry Brown in 1946 during a paper shortage. Today, they sell wallpaper that spices up spaces and and helps people turn houses into homes. I spoke with Paula Taylor, Graham & Brown’s Color & Trend Specialist about what Graham & Brown does, and what trends we expect from them going forward.

Does Graham & Brown do custom designs for homes or individuals?

Yes, both.

Where can someone find/purchase Graham and Brown?

On this website.

When will the next Graham & Brown collection or design be released? Can you give us any hints as to what it will look like?

Graham & Brown will release their next Color of the Year and Wallpaper of Year in September 2021–stay tuned!

Where do you find inspiration for new designs?

We have a vast 30,000-piece archive that we often look back to for inspiration for future pieces. It is really great for understanding how trends have changed and will continue to change moving forward. We also do extensive trend research and have various stories that we work to refresh and update every four to six months. [By] keep[ing] them as relevant and forward thinking as possible, [it] helps us capture any satellite trends that emerge.

What are some of the most popular designs Graham & Brown has created?

Boreas has been a popular design choice, tapping into the botanical look that has always been prevalent, but has taken on a new lease of life in recent months. This [popularity] has been highlighted through the biophilia trend of bringing the outside in. Other customer favorites are geometrics such as Palais–elegantly simple with a nod to the Art Deco, rounded styling we are seeing more of.

Can you tell us what styles and trends are popping up for the summer?

Whilst there has been a growing trend for feature walls, we are also seeing more people wallpapering all four walls to make a real statement. organThe latest trend is for the ceiling to be wallpapered too, furthering that statement look. By papering the ceiling, the edges of the room appear to blur, and you create a cozy feel that appears limitless.

We are also seeing trends that can help reduce stress, such as balance and geometry, [due to] a need to create order in these uncertain times. Simplified structures and architectural references with a repetitive pattern will calm the senses and bring order to the chaos, [as] comfort is found in the routine.

The biophilia trend will remain key for summer as we see organic imagery taking over. It brings the outside in and connects us with natural elements. This connection is of ever-increasing importance to our health and wellbeing in urban society. Research has shown that even indirect elements of nature help reduce stress, blood pressure and heart rates, as well as promote wellbeing.

Next time you are looking to re-do your home, office, apartment, or even dorm room, think of Graham & Brown and check out their website!

Five Golf Courses to Visit in OCNY for use by 360 Magazine

5 Simple Tips for Maintaining Your Golf Equipment

If you want to perform the best you can at golf and make sure that your equipment lasts a long time, you have to learn how to maintain it. Golf equipment can get very expensive, and the more you take care of it, the less you’ll have to spend. A lot of people simply don’t know how to take care of their gear, while others make mistakes that could end up deteriorating it even faster. Here are a few simple tips you can follow to maintain your golf equipment.

Store them Properly

The first thing you have to do is make sure that you store your clubs the right way. The best place to store your clubs is inside at a moderate temperature. The worst place is a hot car trunk. You have to avoid hot and humid environments at all costs since they can end up weakening the glue that keeps the club head and grip in place. Some golf clubs are very susceptible to rust also, which is why you need to store them somewhere dry. You also have to wipe them down if they get wet on the course before storing them away.

Invest in a Golf Towel

A golf towel could be any towel you have lying around or a fancy one made specifically for golfers. Some towels will have fancy wicking technology and reinforced eyeholes to make them easier to carry. You don’t have to spend a fortune on a towel, but it could be a great investment. You should wipe down your clubs every time they get dirty on the course. Make sure to wipe both the grips and the clubface.

Golf Cart Maintenance

If you own a golf cart, there are some things you can do to keep it running and extend its lifespan. First, you have to make sure that you inspect your batteries often and make sure that there is enough water to completely submerge the lead plates. You should also clean your battery’s connections while you’re at it. Look for any signs of dirt or corrosion. You can clean the connections using a simple water/baking soda solution.

You also have to make sure that you constantly verify the thread on your golf cart’s tires. If you want to take your golf cart to the next level, we would also suggest you invest in DOT-approved tires as they’re more robust and can handle more conditions.

Speaking of tires, you should also make sure that you check the air pressure in them constantly. Poor pressure will lead them to wear out faster and could result in accidents. There is a higher risk that you will puncture them as well.

Cover Your Woods

If you aren’t using headcovers on your woods yet, you need to do so immediately. This will protect them when you take them in and out of your bag or when they’re knocking against each other in the trunk of your car. Note that these aren’t as necessary for irons. Even pros won’t use covers on those. The same goes with putters, though they’re a bit more delicate than irons, so covers are not a bad idea here.

Inspect and Clean Your Grips

Do not neglect your grips and make sure to clean them as regularly as your clubheads. You should also be looking for signs of wear. Check if some areas are shinier than others. This indicates slickness. You also have to check for cracks or worn areas. You should regrip your clubs the minute you see heavy signs of deterioration. This is something you can do on your own or at a pro shop.

If you follow these few tips, your golf equipment will look and perform great for a long time. Do not neglect these steps if you care about your golf gear and don’t want to constantly spend money on replacements.

GRIP × Gutter

GRIP gives just the precise amount of weirdness and prophecy in his latest single, “Gutter.”

In the animated visuals by director Caleb Seales, GRIP and Wara find themselves in a mental funhouse that serves as a “choose your own adventure” series with a route to the perfect label as the new goal. While industry plants will more than likely pass the evaluation full of rich distractions and audacious silhouettes, the red warnings bring what is true and real to GRIP’s vision.

Instead of falling into the trap, GRIP climbs out of yet another “Gutter” to stick on the path to rap stardom. With production by Tu serving as a soundtrack to the very twisted adventure, fans will be glued to the screens to find out what happens next.

Shady Records and Eminem took to social media yesterday to announce GRIP as the newest addition to the label’s roster. He’s been called “Atlanta’s Next Great Storyteller” and has already garnered tremendous buzz and acclaim, starting with his 2017 breakout project Porch. The next project, 2019’s Snubhouse kept the momentum building, and he quickly followed up with two more projects in 2020: Halo and PROBOSCIDEA. GRIP is building buzz and lyrical prowess caught the ear of Eminem manager and Shady Records’ President Paul Rosenberg, who then brought it to Eminem.  The two quickly linked with GRIP and added him to the label.  GRIP is currently working on his debut album for Shady, coming later this year.

Gutter” is GRIP’s debut track on Shady Records, and showcases an artist who can rap with the best in the game with a label boasting the likes of Westside Boogie plus recent Shady alumni, Griselda’s Westside Gunn and Conway the Machine. Label President Paul Rosenberg says, “GRIP is the type of artist that brings you into his world and expresses himself through a complete composed body of work. If true album artists in this era are a rare breed- then GRIP is a unicorn! We’re excited for him to join the Shady Records family”

GRIP adds, “It was one of those full circle moments because I grew up on Eminem so to have him reach out and let me know how dope my shit is was so cool. Excited to partner with Shady/Interscope and get the music out on a larger platform.”  GRIP’s upcoming  LP will serve as a breathtaking introduction to those just learning about the emcee and a reminder for existing fans that the musician doesn’t fit a cookie cutter sound…which is just the way he likes it.

Nic D Dishes Up Fine Apple

Stirring a new treat for his growing audiences of millions, buzzing rapper and singer Nic D dishes up the “Fine Apple” (Lemon & Line Remix) [feat. Bryce Vine] today.

On this version, multi-platinum pop/hip-hop maverick Bryce Vine adds another dimension to the track with a slick and sizzling verse of his own. Meanwhile, the original “Fine Apple” has amassed north of 9.6 million Spotify streams, over 355K views on the music video, and 700K-plus views on the official lyric video.

It has exploded on the charts internationally as well, peaking at #7 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart and #2 in the Top 10 Spotify Viral Chart in the United States, #2 in New Zealand, #3 in Canada, #6 in Australia, and #9 in the United Kingdom. Not to mention, it cracked the Top 200 on Spotify in the United States and emerged as #6 “Most Added on Top 40” at radio.

Right out of the gate, he also received plugs from Melodic Magazine, Alfitude, and Enigma Online. In the wake of the release of “Fine Apple, he has attracted another 570,000 TikTok followers and 20,000 Instagram followers.

Get a kick of Lemon & Line from Nic D and Bryce Vine now.

Of the meaning behind “Fine Apple,” Nic D says, “I wrote this song for and about my wife. I tend to write songs about glorifying my wife because I like to uplift the women in my life. It was written in a moment after we had a conversation about me pursuing music full-time, and she fully hopped on board. I felt really supported by her, which resulted in a feel-good song. When you have people in your corner, it feels good and makes the music feel happier. I write a lot of songs about her, and there will be more because she deserves it. And I like my water with lemon and lime.”

On the video, he says “The song did really well on TikTok, so I did a lot of callbacks to videos I made on TikTok, since that’s where the song first went viral. For the people who made it happen for me, I wanted to make them feel like those bits and pieces were for them, because they were part of the whole process for me.”

“Fine Apple” might just be the sweetest fruit of the summer.

Sam Walwym image provided by Robbie Dark and James Barker for use by 360 MAGAZINE.

Interview With Sam Walwym

TikTok is responsible for starting and bolstering many young stars’ careers, and Sam Walwym is no different. The 22-year-old musician was born in the UK but grew up in the Caribbean, where music and rhythm were a major influence in his upbringing. Sam has over one hundred thousand followers on TikTok. He first began sharing his music there, and as he started to receive positive feedback from his followers and others who found his videos on their for you page (FYP), Sam’s following grew. Taking off from there, the musician has continued to make and release music and has signed with Mystic Sons. Carving out a spot for himself in the indie-pop scene, Sam Walwyn has no intentions of quitting before he is a household name.

I was lucky enough to interview Sam and get an insight into his life, music making, and what’s in store for him in the future. It was easy to observe Walwyn’s light-hearted and funny character during our time together, and I can easily see why he grew such a following on TikTok. Make sure to listen to his new song “First Place” and keep an eye out for his name, because I can tell Sam’s career is just beginning.

As a creative outlet, how do TikTok and making music differ? Does one give you more freedom than the other?”

Sam told us in response that “I feel TikTok and its users love to see the process of art being made… Because there is such a quick turnaround of content on the platform, nothing feels set in stone because trends come and go every week. TikTok differs from other platforms because if I have a song which I want an opinion on, or if I’m exploring an idea, I can post a clip of it and get some actual, good feedback. Whereas other social platforms feel like your feed is a portfolio of your career/achievements, whereas TikTok gives you a bit more freedom to share [the] process without pressure.”

What got you interested in making music, has music always been a passion of yours?

I’ve always found rhythm super interesting. From growing up in the Caribbean, carnival season was an integral part of my life. Seeing how rhythm can influence people to move is what sparked my interest to see how I could influence people’s emotions and movement through my own creations.

How would you classify your sound as a musician? What makes your music unique?

I’d label my sound as sad boi songs you can dance or vibe to in the shower. Also, if you put me on whilst on a road trip, everyone in the car would feel like they’re in a music video.

I guess from learning flamenco and percussive guitar, I view the acoustic guitar for more than its six strings. All the corners of the guitar have a different percussive character which has helped make my live shows feel bigger, even though I mainly perform solo.”

Do you think already having a large following on TikTok has helped you as you transition to making music?

I mean I was always making music but by having this following means I can interact and share more insight to my creative process

Can we expect more music in the future?

ABSOLUTELY!! “First Place” is the start of a lot of releases this year. All of which I’m very proud of for different reasons. Some of them are subjects which I feel by releasing will give me some closure. For some of the other songs, I’m just proud of seeing and hearing a development in my sound.

What is your ultimate goal as a musician and how does TikTok factor into that, if it does?

To play bigger and better shows and share my music with as many people as possible. That’s the goal. TikTok has given me a lot of support and helped me exponentially grow my following. It’s given me the opportunity to share my music with more people than I could’ve imagined. This has given me soooooo much motivation for all the hard work and late nights that come with being a musician. It’s nice to see the start of a lil community being brought together .. and even crazier that my music is the catalyst for that.

To follow Sam in his process as he makes more music go to his TikTok.

The Ultimate Summer Kickback

On Friday, Forever 21 hosted the Ultimate Summer Kickback. Guests were invited to a poolside afternoon party at a beautiful home in Beverly Hills, and enjoyed complementary food and drinks. Beginning at 1pm and ending at 7pm, guests were encouraged to rideshare to the event, but offsite parking was also available at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel. After parking, guests were given a ticket to shuttled over to the mansion with other partygoers. This is where the party started–the short ride to the house was accompanied by music and the opportunity to talk to the other guests. After you checked in, you were welcomed into the house, with plenty of photo opportunities, a pool to relax in, food and drinks, shopping, and even an embroidery station, Forever 21 truly hosted the Ultimate Summer Kickback.

Guests were given the chance to strut the runway with friends in Forever 21’s latest styles and get some great pictures. Behind the runway, the massive backyard was filled with food, a grassy area to sit, a photo booth, and the pool. A gazebo decorated with flowers and vines held a photo booth where guests could send themselves the photos, or take their own. On the way to the photo booth you passed the pool, two food areas, a bar, and a bunch of seating areas.

The Ultimate Summer Kickback had two caterers, one serving fruit, snacks, and red, white and blue popsicles, while the other served tacos. In addition to the complimentary food, there was also a variety of drinks–both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. While guests ate and drank, they could walk around, take photos, socialize, or lounge by the pool. The infinity pool overlooked a small pond in the backyard and was filled with festive summer floaties for all to enjoy.
