23 HIDDEN EASTER EGGS WITHIN THE MUSIC VIDEO REVEALED

Global superstar Demi Lovato and her team of collaborators behind the new “Dancing With The Devil” music video have partnered with Vevo to reveal hidden messages and everything you didn’t know about the video’s creation process exclusively for Vevo Footnotes.

WATCH THE MAKING OF “DANCING WITH THE DEVIL” VEVO FOOTNOTES

“Dancing With The Devil” appears on Lovato’s newest album, Dancing With The Devil… The Art Of Starting Over.

The music video’s co-director, Michael D. Ratner, details their commitment to ensuring each frame has meaning and matches Lovato’s reality, and that production runs smoothly so she wouldn’t have to relive each scene multiple times.

A digital XR stage was used to take viewers through Lovato’s experience, which also created a sense of photographic memory to convey her re-telling of the moments before her overdose. Everything from the cast members t-shirts to hairstyles and color are accurate in this artistic reenactment of Lovato’s most trying times.

Below is a complete outline of “The Making of “Dancing With The Devil’ | Vevo Footnotes, including key insight from the music video’s executive director and more from Lovato herself.

FOOTNOTES OUTLINE:

0:16 Narration: ”Dancing With The Devil” is the second video from Demi Lovato’s seventh studio album, Dancing With The Devil…The Art Of Starting Over. Both the video and doc directly address Demi’s near-fatal overdose in July 2018 as well as her road to recovery.

0:31 Demi co-directed the video with Michael D. Ratner, who also helmed the documentary. Miranda Sherman was the video’s Executive Producer.

0:39 Miranda Sherman: ”The documentary was really important preparation for this project. We had time to really understand and unpack the story – get the full scope of it. In the actual creation of the music video, we’re telling the literal story but also communicating visually the feeling of that night.”

0:59 Demi Lovato: ”There’s something really cathartic and healing about being able to address trauma through art for me.”

1:09 Narration: The video took two days to film but the preparation took six months.

1:13 Michael D. Ratner: ”Our commitment to telling this story with care really started with the process. At every stage of pre-production–from overall concept to shot-listing to storyboarding to blocking camera movements–we checked in with Demi and her team stayed honest and created a space of autonomy and empowerment.”

1:36 Narration: Demi wore this “Legalize Marijuana’ t-shirt because it’s similar to the one she actually wore on the night of her overdose. The bedroom scene was the last shot of the day, and the toughest scene for Demi to film. The camera movement required a techno-crane. The team rehearsed endlessly so that Demi didn’t have to go through the scene multiple times.

2:00 Michael D. Ratner: ”There are no accidents in this video. From where people are facing to what they bring into frame, or where they are in frame, everything is thought through and has meaning. Demi has 23 tattoos and there are 23 easter eggs in the video.”

2:20 Michael D. Ratner: ”The video is in no way glorifying drinking or drug use. Quite the opposite, and that’s why there’s that constant chilling reminder of the hospital bed, which is symbolic of the scary possibility that the danger of addiction is very real and very present.”

2:38 Narration: In order to cover so many locations and emotions, they used a digital XR stage to take the viewer through Demi’s experience, which also created a sense of photographic memory to convey Demi’s re-telling of the night before and morning of her overdose.

2:53 Many of Demi’s friends and family appear in the documentary, but for this video, actors were used to represent them. Their faces are deliberately hidden.

2:59 Demi Lovato: ”When recreating the night before my overdose some of the actors are wearing clothing to match some of my friends who were there, including Dani Vitale’s white tank top, which is seen in the documentary’s archival footage. In the scene where I’m surrounded by family in the hospital, one of the actresses has hair the same color as my sister Dallas in 2018.”

3:20 Narration: Ratner and his team made specific technical choices with the goal of helping viewers understand the feeling of falling into addiction, drug abuse, overdose, and recovery. Demi’s case manager was on set during the filming of the video. Before filming began, Ratner worked with him to ensure the shoot was a safe space for her and she was as comfortable as possible.

3:50 Demi Lovato: ”At the beginning of the video, the diffused effect of the kaleidoscopic light on the glass mirrors mimic the blurry feeling of using drugs and indicated the start of this dangerous journey. The last shot of the video reveals the disco ball spinning over the hospital bed and serves as an eerie reminder that the challenge of addiction is persistent and recovery is an ongoing process.”

4:09 Narration: Demi got this “survivor’ tattoo in 2019. It covers the scar from where her dialysis port was.

4:15 Demi Lovato: ”It’s a really important reminder of everything that I’ve overcome, and that I’m stronger and more in control of my life than ever.”

LAURA PIERI – GRENADES

LAURA PIERI’S NEW SINGLE “GRENADES” EXPLODES ONTO THE MUSIC SCENE

It has been almost a year since Laura Pieri released her last hit single, “All I Need,” which premiered just before the pandemic struck and the world locked down. Like so many artists, Pieri was eager to continue creating music, performing, and advancing her musical journey.  But often patience can pay off and throughout a year of introspection and personal growth, Pieri is set to debut what is already being coined as her best song yet, “Grenades”!

When Laura walked into the recording session that day, she and her producer, Josh, had planned to put the final touches on a track that they were ready to green light as her next release. She was distracted and angry over a toxic relationship she was in, unable to focus and completely distraught over a situation that blew up. It was almost impossible to block it out, so she took a detour and started working out a new song entirely. The energy flowed from frustration to creativity. Enter “Grenades.” Everyone knew this had to be the next release and they immediately put this in front of everything else.

For Laura, “Grenades” would represent a cathartic relief for something so intense that someone could be dealing with, that makes you so infuriated and outraged–but it’s completely out of your control and there’s nothing you can do.  All you can do is acknowledge it, accept it and let it go!

Pieri explains “I was so mad it that day, it was like I got so caught up in somebody else and I forgot it’s not about them, it’s about me. If I could unmeet somebody, I would, but that’s not reality and now sitting here in all of this uncomfortableness was a new thing for me.”

Creating the song was the healthiest way she could express what she was dealing with at the time. Laura goes on to explain “It’s like you know you’re gonna be angry AF and go through that and feel it… but then let it go, let that rage literally blow up! Grenades became a metaphor for blowing something up in a figurative way and shattering all that negative energy and moving on from there.”

While Laura has been writing music for some time now, “Grenades” was a writing experience where she felt the power of her voice behind the collaboration. While not a self-proclaimed natural songwriter, Pieri loves poetry and languages. With the emotional content around “Grenades,” she was able to pour out how she was feeling, and those feelings slowly turned into melodies that turned into words. “It just felt very easy to be there and I feel like I’m slowly exploring my songwriting skills, and ‘Grenades’ really feels like just the tip of the iceberg for me.”

Supplementing the single is a music video that exemplifies all the emotions from “Grenades” into a finely tuned visual journey. While Laura and her team had to get creative to circumvent the challenges of a video shoot in 2020, the end product came out perfectly and almost better then could have been expected. They worked with a skeletal crew, prioritized open spaces, and shot mainly between Malibu and downtown LA. They shot the rooftop shots downtown and narrowly pulled off their one chance at getting a fireworks explosion exactly right. The beach scenes were shot at sundown, into which created this dreary effect, capturing a cool tone that fell between sundown and nightfall. Laura adds “It was moody – it ended up being the perfect backdrop for the song.”

This music video was a perfect collaboration of creative minds coming together through all of the difficulties and obstacles they had to experience while shooting a video during a pandemic. Laura explains “I honestly really enjoyed having such a small crew because everyone has to contribute, and we were all packing up and unloading cars. We all had this break in Malibu, eating tacos and listening to music on the beach while we were waiting for the sun to go down. It was just such a cool moment in time to share with each other.”

Pieri, now 23, feels like she is in just the right place musically. She is moving forward trying new things but is taking her time in getting there.  Of what the future holds for Laura Pieri, she concludes “I am savoring the journey and whatever road I take next, or whatever music is on that path. I can only hope that people resonate with it as well. “

“Grenades” is produced by Joshua “YXSH” Thomas, and the music video was shot and produced by Living Records & Ace Monkey Productions and executively produced by Cory Rooney Music Group.

Buying Guide for Maternity Clothes

Whenever you notice that your baby bump has grown, you might start stressing out–especially after you notice that your regular clothes don’t fit anymore. You might have noticed a social media fashion blogger with an incredibly shaped pregnancy bump posting the effortless look of fashion and fun. Are you trying to look like them, but in vain? Relax. Finding flattering and fitting garments can be a huge challenge for every mom-to-be. In this guide, you will find the best tips for every woman’s maternity wardrobe:

When is the right time to buy maternity clothes?

Every woman experience pregnancy differently. Due to this, there is no specific time to buy your maternity clothes. It will depend on your body type, because all people are different. You will notice different pregnant women start wearing maternity clothing at different times of their pregnancy period.  Continue reading on for several clues on when you may purchase maternity clothes:

  • Whenever you find yourself unbuttoning your top or pants
  • When you feel more bloated than normal
  • When your bump peeks out of your top
  • When your buttoned shirt doesn’t button

The above signs correspond to what’s happening inside your belly. Usually at 20 weeks, your uterus is at a level of the umbilicus.  During a mom’s first pregnancy, the bump usually pops a bit later than during subsequent pregnancies. For first-time moms, they seem excited to show off their bumps and start buying the right clothes immediately.

How to Choose the Right Maternity Clothes

You might find yourself experiencing the above signs and are in need of need maternity clothes, but may not know where to start. The following tips will automatically help you find the correct information regarding what’s required of your maternity wardrobe.

Figuring out Sizing

During your first pregnancy, it is hard to estimate how your body will change during the entire pregnancy process, which means that it is pretty tricky to know the correct sizing.  But the most important thing is to make sure you buy something comfortable. Note that not every part of your body is growing at the same rate.   Some pregnant women even change bra cup sizes before their bump pops.  Choose what’s convenient for you.

Tips To Consider When Buying Maternity Clothes

Consider stretch

Choose a specific fabric that stretches, as it will continue to fit your growing body throughout the pregnancy process. Any stretchable fabric or jersey fabric will allow a more flexible fit.

Test for sheerness

Garments with sheer fabric are excellent for any pregnant woman. It is also a stretchable fabric. Make sure to try on sheer garments to see how they fits your body.

Embrace ruching

Ruching is an overlaying of fabric strips that are pleated, gathered, or fluted together to create an amazing ripple effect. It is an apparel feature that allows your maternity clothing to grow with your pregnancy bump. It automatically works with any body size and type.

Consider beyond pregnancy

It is always fantastic to choose maternity clothes that have nursing features on them. When the time comes for breastfeeding, you will use them, and your investment in maternity wear will get even more use. As said earlier, invest in comfortable and beautiful clothes, and you will never regret them throughout the nine months of pregnancy.

3 Tips For Leaders To Steady The Ship When Employees Lose Their Balance

Company leaders and managers have a big responsibility in overseeing employees. But they can’t see everything, and sometimes there’s more going on in a worker’s life than meets the eye.

Employee disengagement or burnout isn’t always apparent, and some employers may be in for a surprise if and when the COVID-19 pandemic winds down. One study shows that 57 percent of U.S. employees say they are burnt out, with many likely to leave their job after the pandemic is over. And a Gallup survey reveals that the percentage of engaged employees – those enthusiastic about their workplace – is under 40 percent.

What the numbers mean is leaders need to learn how to spot and help out-of-balance employees, says Mark McClain, CEO and co-founder of SailPoint and the ForbesBooks author of “Joy and Success at Work: Building Organizations that Don’t Suck (the Life Out of People).”

“One challenge leaders and managers routinely face is to recognize when the people around them – peers, colleagues, but especially subordinates – are out of balance or are heading in the wrong direction,” McClain says. “Beyond the potential impacts on their personal lives, you want to try to head off the negative effects such imbalances can have on their roles in the company.

“This may seem imposing, but you have to pay attention as a leader. No employee can run at a crazy pace forever, yet some companies let people run themselves right out of the building. Other workers who are disengaged can be harder to spot initially.”

McClain offers these tips for leaders to spot, address, and help out-of-balance employees:

  • Make work-life balance part of your culture. “You can expect much from your employees, but you don’t want them to fry themselves,” McClain says. “You don’t want them to harm their health, their family, or their relationships. If you have good people, ideally you’ll grow them and help them work toward their vision of a healthy work-life balance. The sooner leaders confront imbalance in the equation, the more meat they put on the bones of company culture.”
  • Screen out for potential burnout. Some companies hire knowing they will overwork people or take advantage of their ambition to work extra hard and advance up the corporate ladder, McClain says. But that approach can lead to burnout and departure, which costs companies in terms of replacing them. “There are always going to be ultra-motivated climbers,” McClain says. “But exploiting them is beyond bad. Those who can’t stand it get out, and the HR departments plan on the fact that every four or five years, only 15 to 20 percent of those hires will be able to move up the ranks. These types of organizations instead should invest in pre-hiring assessments to screen out those who value a life outside of work. Doing so would save the companies money and turnover.”
  • Be a counselor. It’s not an invasion of privacy for a manager to show concern in an employee, McClain says, and probing is necessary to help the employee. “Like it or not,” he says, “being a counselor of sorts is part of managing people. Getting to know them as people, and their work styles, is what makes spotting imbalances possible. It’s why good managers pull employees aside and say, ‘Hey, you’re here, but you’re not engaged. Is something going on?’ Managers who take that step are able to uncover issues and steer their employees to the help they need.”

“Many companies talk about caring for workers until they’re blue in the face,” McClain says. “But when you put in place the pieces to help them succeed, leaders walk the walk – and everybody wins.”

About Mark McClain

A Guide to Fresh Foods and Diet Balancing Without Feeling Guilty

When it comes to dieting, you may dread it because you think it involves omitting your favorite foods. The good news is a balanced diet can include many of your favorite foods. Here is a guide to fresh foods and balancing your diet without feeling guilty.

What Is a Balanced Diet?

A healthy and balanced diet includes foods from all food groups, such as:

  • Fruits and vegetables.
  • Starchy foods.
  • Dairy.
  • Protein.
  • Fat.

Fruits and Vegetables

Your diet should include a daily serving of fruits and vegetables. You need to consume at least five servings of fruits and vegetables. These foods are essential diet components because they provide your body with important minerals and vitamins. Fruits and vegetables help prevent disease, helps with digestion, and lowers cholesterol. The foods in the fruits and vegetables food group are low in fat and help with satiety, feeling full.

What Counts as One Portion of Vegetables and Fruits?

  • Half an avocado or grapefruit
  • One slice of a large fruit (pineapple, melon)
  • Two plums (or similar sized fruit)
  • A dessert bowl filled with salad
  • One pear, apple, or banana

Keep in mind canned, dried, and frozen fruits and vegetables also count towards your daily serving for this food group.

Starchy Foods

Starchy foods include bread, potatoes, pasta, and rice. This food group should account for one-third of the food groups you eat. Starchy foods are an essential source of fiber and energy. These starchy foods also provide ample amounts of vitamins, calcium, and iron. Avoid adding extra fat sources to these foods by not using spreads, butter, jam, oil, or cheese.
A good diet technique to practice is to base most of your meals around high-starch foods. Consider starting your day with a whole grain breakfast cereal and having a sandwich made on whole grain bread for lunch. Your dinner can include rice or potatoes with your meal.

Protein

The protein food group contains many foods, including fresh seafood.

Pulses

Pulses include beans, lentils, and peas. These foods are naturally low in fat and a good source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Pulses are great additions to soups, sauces, and casseroles because they provide additional flavor and texture to your meals. Other sources of vegetable protein include Quorn, tofu, mycoprotein and bean curd.

Fish

Fish is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, and proteins. You should try consuming at least two portions of fish weekly. One portion of fish should be oil rich, and the other portion should be tinned, frozen or fresh fish. Oil-rich fish includes mackerel and salmon that contain Omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids promote heart health and are a great source of vitamins A and D.
You also have the option of white fish and shellfish. Skate, haddock, hake, plaice, cod, and coley are white fish that are low in fat and contain different vitamins and minerals. These fish are healthy meat alternatives. When you’re buying fish tinned in brine or smoked fish, check the high salt content label.
Marlin, shark, and swordfish are other protein options. You should not consume more than one portion of this type of fish per week because it contains mercury, a toxin that can cause liver and kidney damage, among other adverse health effects. You can prepare fish by baking, steaming, grilling, and frying it, but fried fish is the option that contains more fat.

Eggs

Eggs are a part of a balanced diet because they are a great source of vitamins, protein, and minerals. Although there are no limitations on the number of eggs you can consume, avoid adding unhealthy fats, such as oil and butter. Eggs are the healthiest when they are boiled, scrambled or poached. If you prefer frying your eggs, use vegetable, olive or rapeseed oil.

Meat

Meat is an excellent source of B12, a vitamin that is solely found in food from animals. Meats are also a good source of vitamins, proteins and minerals. You have the option of red or processed meats. Red meat includes venison, beef, pork and lamb. Processed meats include salami, sausages, burgers, ham, bacon, and other cured meats. Consuming an excessive amount of red or processed meats increases your risk of developing bowel cancer.
You should limit your meat consumption, red or processed, to 70 grams per day (about two slices of roast meat or equal to two sausages). Consuming ample amounts of meat that is high in saturated fats increases your risk of developing heart disease, having a stroke, and increases your blood cholesterol levels.

Fat

The fat food group includes oils and spreads. Many fats in diets are essential, such as those found in olive oil, vegetable oil, and rapeseed oil. These oils contain unsaturated fats, which help reduce your risk of developing heart disease and lower cholesterol.
Some foods contain unhealthy fats, such as cakes, full-sugar soft drinks, biscuits and snacks, such as chips and snack cakes.

Hydration

Hydrating yourself with water is excellent for your overall health and well-being. Drinking water flushes toxins from your system and improves every aspect of your body’s functions.
When you’re dieting, consider each of the five food groups to ensure you’re maintaining a healthy, balanced diet. Following the food pyramid will help you understand your food needs, and you will not feel guilty about many of the foods you consume daily.

“ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE PEACE A CHANCE” – JOHN LENNON
Before famously recording their legendary pacifist anthem “Give Peace A Chance” at their Bed-In for Peace at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal on May 31st, 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono rehearsed an early version of the song while at the Sheraton Oceanus Hotel in the Bahamas just days before, on May 25th. The performance, which was captured by the Lennon’s film cameraman Nic Knowland and sound recordist Mike Lax, has never been released until now and is the earliest known recording of the song.
\The film, meticulously restored and released today in incredible 5K by the John Lennon Estate, features John humorously ad-libbing lyrics for the verses before being joined by Yoko for the memorable chorus that became an anti-war anthem for a generation and which remains an enduring protest song more than 50 years later.

Originally set for New York, the second Bed-In was relocated to the Bahamas after John and Yoko were denied entrance into the U.S. because of John‘s 1968 cannabis conviction. However, due to the layout of the hotel and the sweltering Bahamian heat, the couple flew to Toronto the following day and eventually settled in Montreal, chosen for its close proximity to New York and the American press, which they were hoping to use to get the attention of President Nixon.

The couple set themselves up in a hotel suite for a week, where they allowed unlimited access and gave endless interviews, in order that their extended honeymoon serve as a “commercial for peace.” The event culminated with the recording of John’s first solo single and the first to be credited to the Plastic Ono Band, “Give Peace A Chance.”

Surrounded by fans, Hare Krishnas and having spent the week with a host of notable friends and celebrities like LSD advocate Timothy Leary, singer Petula Clark, disc jockey Murray The K, comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory and comedian Tommy Smothers, who accompanied on acoustic guitar, John and Yoko performed the song in bed dressed in their pajamas and helped provide the soundtrack to a revolution.

Released just a month later in July 1969, backed with Yoko’s “Remember Love,” recorded that same night after their guests had left, the single reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 14 in the U.S. on the Billboard Hot 100, giving John his first hit outside of The Beatles. Although credited to Lennon-McCartney, John later revealed the song was written by him and Yoko and she should have received the co-writing credit.

John said one of his proudest moments was when Peter Seeger led a crowd of over half a million protesters in singing a ten-minute version of “Give Peace A Chance” at the Vietnam moratorium in Washington DC on November 15,1969.

If you are also an anti-war person and you like this album, then custom enamel pins would be a good choice.

Custom enamel pins can incorporate your vision of peace into them. You can choose a variety of anti-war patterns you like, such as the classic peace dove, or a hand-in-hand silhouette. You can also engrave peace phrases customize dates that are meaningful to you, and incorporate your peace declaration or precious moments into the design to show your exclusiveness. Custom enamel pins can also be chosen for your favorite color and size.

Let these pins become a unique token of love and peace, and protect world peace with John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

This unearthed video comes in advance of the forthcoming box set, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band – The Ultimate Collection, due April 23 via Capitol/UMe, of which the track is included alongside demos for every song on the album as well as John’s non-album singles. The eight-disc super deluxe box set, celebrating 50 years of John’s transformational and influential masterpiece, is an immersive, deep listening experience and in-depth exploration of the record John described as “the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Fully authorized by Yoko Ono Lennon, who oversaw the production and creative direction, and from the same audio team that worked on 2018’s critically acclaimed Imagine – The Ultimate Collection, including triple GRAMMY®-Award winning engineer Paul Hicks and mixers/engineers Rob Stevens and Sam Gannon, the Ultimate Collection puts listeners in the center of the studio and explores the album’s 1970 recording sessions at EMI Studios 2 & 3, Abbey Road along with John’s post-Beatles singles, “Give Peace A Chance,” “Cold Turkey” and “Instant Karma! (We All Shine On).”

From inception to the final master, the sessions are explored through scores of unreleased and rare demos, rehearsals, outtakes, jams and studio conversations, revealing how these beloved songs came to be. Everything in this expansive box set has been newly mixed from scratch from brand new 192kHz/24bit hi-res transfers. In addition to the various new mixes, the set boasts 87 never-before-heard recordings.

Pre-order available now HERE.

The Ultimate Collection offers a variety of new listening experiences that are at once immersive and intimate, ranging from the brand new Ultimate Mixes of the timeless album, which put John’s vocals front and center and sonically upgrade the sound, to the Elements Mixes, which isolate and bring forth certain elements from the multitrack recordings to reveal even deeper levels of detail and clarity, and the Raw Studio Mixes, which allows listeners to experience the moment John and the Plastic Ono Band recorded each song, mixed raw and live without effects, tape delays or reverbs. The Evolutionary Documentary is a unique track-by-track audio montage that details the evolution of each song from demo to master recording via instructions, rehearsals, recordings, multitrack exploration and studio chatter. The Blu-rays present an array of listening options including high-definition, studio quality 192kHz/24bit audio in stereo and enveloping 5.1 Surround and Dolby Atmos mixes.

ALBUM LAUNCH AND TIM’S TWITTER LISTENING PARTY

Fans around the world are invited to listen to the new mixes of John’s landmark solo album, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band – The Ultimate Collection, together on Saturday, April 24 at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT/6 pm BST as part of Tim’s Twitter Listening Party, the acclaimed interactive listening experience created and hosted by Tim Burgess (The Charlatans UK).

The event will include participation from Yoko Ono Lennon, Sean Ono Lennon, original Plastic Ono Band bassist and artist Klaus Voormann, John and Yoko’s friend, personal assistant and album cover photographer, Dan Richter, mixer/engineer Paul Hicks and the entire audio team behind the new Ultimate Collection.

Immediately following the Listening Party, the newly launched Twitter Spaces will host an after-party featuring a discussion hosted by Chris Hawkins of BBC Radio 6 Music and featuring Sean Ono Lennon, Klaus Voormann, Dan Richter, Paul Hicks, Tim Burgess, Ultimate Collection Compilation Producer/Production Manager Simon Hilton and a variety of special guests to talk about the making of the album, its legacy and the exciting new collection.

Visit this website for details about how to join the and stay tuned for more info that will be revealed closer to the date on Lennon’s website.

The historical, remixed and remastered John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band – The Ultimate Collection features 159 tracks across six CDs and two Blu-ray audio discs for more than 11 engrossing hours of music and includes two postcards (“Who Are The Plastic Ono Band?” and “You Are The Plastic Ono Band”) a “War Is Over!” poster and a comprehensive 132-page hardback book with lyrics, rare photos, tape box images, memorabilia and extensive notes.

Designed and edited by Simon Hilton, the Compilation Producer and Production Manager of the Ultimate Collection series, the book tells the story behind each of the songs and the making of the album in John & Yoko’s words and the words of those who worked alongside them, through archival and brand new interviews.

Yoko writes in the preface of the book: “With the Plastic Ono Band albums, John and I liked the idea of this really raw, basic, truthful reality that we were going to be giving to the world. We were influencing other artists, giving them courage, giving dignity to a certain style of vulnerability and strength that was not accepted in society at the time. It was a revolution for a Beatle to say, ‘Listen: I’m human, I’m real.’ It took a lot of courage for him to do it.”

This truly unique expanded edition includes the lively improvised jams John and the band would play between takes, belying the intense subject matter of the album, and the full live recording session of Yoko’s companion LP, Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band, which for the first time presents the songs in their full, unedited lengths and speed, and includes three unreleased improvisations.

Plastic Ono Band will also be released in concurrent multiple physical and digital configurations, including as a 1CD that includes the Ultimate Mixes of the original album and the three non-album singles and as an expanded 2CD or 2LP version that adds a disc of outtakes of each song.
