8 Tips to Declutter Your Home and Life for the Best Autumn Yet

Fall is always an exciting time filled with trips to apple orchards, afternoons spent at pumpkin patches, Friendsgiving dinners, and… decluttering! And I don’t just mean putting your surfboards in storage and finally ridding all kitchen countertops of scattered mail — I mean giving your home and lifestyle a whole fall refresh! Decluttering both your living space and life could be key for ensuring you have the best autumn yet.

In my experience as the Professional Organizer and Brand Ambassador of  Modular Closets  (DIY customizable closet units that organize any space in your home), I have discovered a number of helpful decluttering tips. Here are 8 of these tried-and-true strategies I wanted to share:

1. Organize a grab-and-go station for autumn essentials.

Isn’t it the worst when you are trying to leave for an outing and can’t find your keys, cellphone, or other essentials? Don’t let missing items put a damper on your fall festivities! Organize a bin by the front door or in the garage that contains autumn essentials like beanies, gloves, scarves, windbreakers, chapstick, and hand creams for your purse (the chillier weather can really dry out your skin!) so you are always ready for any fun fall plans. Whether you are planning to spend an afternoon apple picking or you want to wander through gorgeous fall foliage, you will be prepared for any outing.

2. Write down 5 things you want to do this autumn.

From camping excursions to costume parties and fall food festivals, it seems like once autumn hits there is almost TOO much you want to do. So declutter your plans by organizing a fall bucket list! By taking pen to paper and consciously thinking of what you want to experience this season, you will truly be able to make your autumn dreams a reality. Then, once you write down the top 5 must-do’s, schedule each of them into your calendar. This will ensure you accomplish the bucket-list items and allow you to plan other activities around them.

3. Declutter last fall’s essentials.

Garages and sheds tend to fill up with clutter from all the autumns beforehand. Spend a day decluttering broken Halloween decorations, chipped Thanksgiving dinnerware, broken baskets for apple picking, and costumes you no longer wear so that you will be able to replace ones that need to be replaced right away. Trust me, the last thing you would want is to start getting ready for a costume party and realize all of your costumes in storage are stained or have holes in them. By decluttering any items you no longer need, you make space for all your new autumn essentials which also frees energy for new memories.

4.) Deep clean the windows.

Do you love gazing out your windows at the changing leaves? Deep cleaning the windows needs to be a must on your autumn organizing to-do list, as it will help you enjoy the lovely fall days to the fullest! If your windows are covered in grime and streaks from the rainy spring and dry summer months, take an hour or two to spray all of them with a cleaning solution and wipe them until they sparkle! You will smile every time you look through them and notice how clear and clean they are.

5.) Write down your home organizing goals.

Although autumn is typically filled with fun get-togethers with friends and family, Oktoberfest festivities, and other events, the season is a great time to accomplish your home organizing goals. Have you been meaning to paint one or more of your rooms a new color? Do you really want to clean every single carpet and rug in your living space? Commit to one home organizing project you have wanted to do this year, and allow yourself the fall to accomplish it. I highly recommend scheduling the project into your calendar so that there are plans set in stone to get it done!

6.) Organize a travel station in your car.

Autumn is filled with family gatherings, adventure, tips to pumpkin patches, and travel, so it is paramount to have your car organized. First, do a deep clean. Yes, that means vacuuming under the seats and picking up all the stale Cheerios all over the floor. Once the car is deep cleaned, organize an autumn station that you keep in the trunk. Some ideas of things to include are hats, scarves, wipes to clean hands after apple picking, and extra sweaters. Preparation is key!

7.) Organize your fall clothes.

Out with summer and in with fall! Spend an afternoon decluttering any autumn clothes that you no longer love wearing or that don’t fit, and organize your closet so all your fall clothes are front and center. Hang up your favorite sweaters, put your glove and beanie sets together, clean and fold all of your pants and leggings, and clean your boots so they are ready for all of the fall festivities!

8.) Organize your garden tools.

Autumn means beautiful falling leaves! If your garden tools have been buried in the garage or shed all year round, this is the time to declutter any rusty or broken rakes and possibly purchase a new one. The last thing you want is to get ready to clean up piles of leaves and realize the handle on your rake broke while in storage!

To Wrap It All Up

Now that fall is here, make it a priority to declutter both your living space and lifestyle so that the season is nothing short of marvelous. Several ways to do this include organizing a grab-and-go station for autumn essentials and writing a bucket list of 5 must-do fall plans. Also, declutter last season’s essentials, deep clean the windows, and organize a travel station in your car. These are just a few ways to help ensure you have the best autumn yet!

CHLOE MORIONDO – SUCKERPUNCH

Rising star Chloe Moriondo has announced new album SUCKERPUNCH, arriving October 7 via Public Consumption/Fueled By Ramen. Working with producers/co-writers including Oscar Scheller (Rina Sawayama, PinkPantheress, Charli XCX), David Pramik (Machine Gun Kelly, Oliver Tree), and Teddy Geiger (Caroline Polachek, Olivia O’ Brien), SUCKERPUNCH signals a new era for Moriondo and marks a bold leap forward from the understated indie-pop and jittery pop-punk of her 2021 offering, Blood BunnySUCKERPUNCH is available for preorder now (album art/tracklisting below).

The news is heralded by the release of first single Fruity, a sticky-sweet summer anthem primed for ecstatic screaming along. Fruity arrives alongside a bright, colorful video that finds Chloe transforming a drab office into a super fruity party. Directed by Raoul Gonzo, the Fruity music video is streaming on Chloe’s official YouTube channel now.

Expanding on SUCKERPUNCH and the new single, Moriondo adds, Fruity and this album in general are going to be a slap in the fucking face!! I liked the idea of naming the album for something that means an unexpected hit something you never saw coming. It means the world to me to have the creative means to explore different shiny sounds and work with people I love so dearly on a project that is so new and exciting for me.

In celebration of the record, Chloe will head out on the SUCKERPUNCH tour this October, a U.S. fall headline run featuring support from Dreamer Isioma. The five-week trek kicks off October 12 in Columbus, OH, making stops at The Regent in Los Angeles on October 26 and Irving Plaza in New York City on November 10 before wrapping up with a hometown performance at The Majestic in Detroit, MI on November 19. Chloe is also slated to perform at this year’s Firefly Festival in Dover, DE. Tickets for all dates are available now (tour itinerary below). For up-to-date ticketing information, please visit HERE.

Earlier this summer, Moriondo was included in Billboard‘s prestigious 21 Under 21 list and shared Blood Bunny Deluxe, which included her long-awaited single and video Hell Hounds, alternate and acoustic versions of album tracks including a rendition of I Eat Boys featuring dodie original voice memos, and a studio version of Chloe’s early pandemic ballad, Living Virtually. In April, Chloe shared the puppy luv EP, a collection of canine-themed songs. The five-track collection was heralded by the charming, breezy single sammy, and accompanied by an official music video starring Moriondo’s own pet dog (the titular Sammy). UPROXX praised the wholesome track, while Billboard hailed it as a pure bump of joy. Consequence attested sammy is adorable and heartwarming. The puppy luv EP is available now via Public Consumption/Fueled By Ramen.

ANTHONY’S COLLECTION REDISCOVERED

A selection of important Chinese porcelain that formed part of the world-renowned Anthony de Rothschild Chinese porcelain collection has been rediscovered at his daughter Renée Louise Marie de Rothschild’s (1927-2015) home. The pieces had been gifted to her in 1948 when Anthony de Rothschild (1887-1961) donated the family home, Ascott House to the National Trust and dispersed the contents of it to several museums and amongst his family. While most of it had been passed on through other generations and was accounted for, this particular selection of works had been packed away and was only recently brought to the family’s attention. The pieces bear the unique labels that correlate with the meticulous inventory that Anthony de Rothschild maintained for his spectacular museum-quality collection, as he added to it over the years.

Anthony de Rothschild was one of the earliest collectors of Oriental works. He amassed his extensive collection from his travels, which were instigated by an initial trip to China with his brother in 1911. He would later travel extensively, keeping meticulous records of everything he bought and chose only museum-quality pieces. Dreweatts is therefore thrilled to offer the opportunity to obtain such exceptional works with impeccable provenance, in a sale of Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art on November 9th and 10th 2022.

Anthony de Rothschild began collecting predominantly after serving in the First World War. A very passionate collector like his father, he amassed the majority of his works throughout the 1920’s and 30’s and was an early lender to the Oriental Ceramics Society exhibitions, which were founded in 1921. The bulk of Anthony de Rothchild’s collection was kept at the family’s country home, Ascott House in Buckinghamshire. His role in the family business meant that he lived between his London residence and Ascott house. He and his wife Yvonne Lydia Louise de Rothschild (1899-1977) were well-known for their commitment to public service. In 1933, they were among several prominent Jewish founders of the Central British Fund for German Jewry, the British refugee relief agency providing emergency

The Rothschilds offered Ascott house for use as a hospital during the war and when the Chelsea Pensioners were bombed out of their home, it became a safe haven for them for several years. It was also used by the army for a time and in 1948 the Rothschilds gifted the house to the National Trust, with whom it remains to this day. The contents of the house were divided amongst the family, with several important works being donated to leading museums, where they are on display to this day.

Commenting on the collection, Dreweatts Chinese and Asian Art specialist Yingwen Tao said: “We are very honoured to sell this rare group of rediscovered works that graced the collection of one of the greatest pioneer collectors of Chinese ceramics of the 20th century. I’m sure they will cause excitement and attract attention from collectors around the globe.”

A fine pair of Chinese gilt-metal mounted candelabra are comprised of Kangxi period porcelain parrots with a turquoise and aubergine glaze. They stand on French mid-18th century mounts with fine details around the rim, which includes a lizard to the foot and carry an estimate of £4,000-£6,000.

A pair of stunning Chinese white glazed figures of horses from the Kangxi period depict them lying down, but with legs bent as if about to stand. Their manes, forelocks and pricked ears are brown-glazed and they rest on shaped bases. The pair carries an estimate of £3,000-£5,000.

Amongst several Chinese jade and hardstone works is a white and russet jade model of a quail dating from the Qianlong period. Very finely detailed it features a vase and lingzhi fungus on a pierced rock base and has an estimate of £3,000-£5,000. Another highlight from the jade collection is the white jade carving of cats, also dated back to the 18th century.  In ancient China the cat was considered to be a symbol of happiness. The cats are carved recumbent and grasping a lingzhi fungus stem which denotes longevity in Chinese culture. Made of very fine quality white jade, the group carries an estimate of £2,000-£3,000.

Monkeys feature consistently in Chinese culture, often portrayed as mischievous and cheeky, however they were believed to have the ability to drive away evil spirits and were therefore believed to be able to bring good fortune. A Chinese pale celadon and brown jade model of a monkey from the Qing Dynasty depicts the monkey seated, holding its young. With its unusual large size of over 12cm high, it carries an estimate of £2,000-£3,000.

PATRICK REED SUES FOR DEFAMATION

On August 16, 2022, Patrick Reed, among the world’s most accomplished, young professional golfers, with only one of his many victories coming at the 2018 Masters tournament, sued Brandel Chamblee and NBC’s Golf Channel for defamation. See Reed vs. Chamblee, et. al, Civil Action No. 4:22-cv-2778 (S.D. Tx.). Mr. Reed recently joined the LIV Golf Tour. Chamblee, Golf Channel, and the PGA and DP World Tour and their Commissioners Jay Monahan and Keith Pelley, are alleged to be co-conspirators for their anticompetitive conduct and anticompetitive practices in order to destroy the upstart LIV Golf Tour, Mr. Reed, and fellow LIV Golf Players in order to annihilate any competition with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour even if it means violating antitrust laws and going to extreme and scandalous measures to defame Mr. Reed, fellow LIV Tour players, and LIV Golf.

In Mr. Reed’s complaint filed before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, in Houston, Texas, his hometown, Chamblee and NBC’s Golf Channel are alleged to have defamed this world class golfer, by falsely and maliciously branding him a cheater, liar, and a thief and someone who accepts blood money from terrorists. Chamblee also has labeled the 3-Time Ryder Cup player, three-time President’s Cup player, two-time Olympian and 9-Time PGA Tour Champion, and Honorary Lifetime Member of the DP World Tour as the “devil” after Mr. Reed’s first and only alleged rules infraction he ever had on the PGA Tour. Consistent with this, Chamblee also published that Mr. Reed and his fellow LIV golfers associate themselves with the likes of Putin, Mao, Hitler and Stalin, among many other published smears. Of course, what Chamblee and NBC’s Golf Channel are using as a false and malicious pretext to defame is the financing of the LIV Golf Tour by the Saudi Public Investment Fund also known as PIF which has purchased stakes in a variety of investments, including but not limited to Uber, Boeing, Facebook, CitiBank, Disney, Berkshire Hathaway, Electronic Arts. One of its most famed investments and ownership stakes- is in the world renown Newcastle United Football Club.

Chamblee and NBC’s Golf Channel have a direct interest in continuing to defame Mr. Reed, one of LIV Golf’s top golfers, since the PGA Tour has lucrative contracts with major broadcasting partner NBC’s Golf Channel to broadcast events on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. Existing tournament sponsors and other broadcasting partners would not want to have and continue paying lucrative contracts to the PGA Tour if they have depleted fields, lost marquee players, and are actively involved in anticompetitive practices that violated the antitrust laws. Chamblee and NBC’s Golf Channel are allegedly fearful that another major network will acquire the rights to broadcast LIV Golf Tour events, competing with them and drawing away viewers and revenues.

The lawsuit also alleges that the vicious attacks by Chamblee and NBC’s Golf Channel are nothing new to Mr. Reed. NBC’s Golf Channel and Brandel Chamblee’s record will show a targeted effort to destroy a young golfer’s name, career, and marketability as a top golfer in the world. This is a continuation of and compounds the past defamatory conduct against Mr. Reed. Chamblee and Golf Channel are alleged in the complaint to have targeted this world-class golfer, manufactured phony controversies, and defamed Mr. Reed to boost their television and broadcast ratings and revenues.

Larry Klayman, Esq., the founder of both Judicial Watch and Judicial Watch a former U.S. Department of Justice prosecutor, both civil and criminal, and in private legal practice, had this to say in filing the complaint on behalf of Mr. Reed:

“The motivation of the defendants, Chamblee and NBC’s Golf Channel, is evident. Working as the surrogate agents for the PGA Tour and DP World Tour and their lawless leadership, their mission is to destroy a top LIV Golf Tour player, his family, as well as all of the LIV Golf players, to further their agenda and alleged collaborative efforts to destroy the new LIV Golf Tour.

“As alleged in the Complaint, these calculated malicious attacks have created hate, aided and abetted a hostile workplace environment, and have caused substantial financial and emotional damage and harm to Mr. Reed and his family.

“While Chamblee’s and NBC’s Golf Channel’s never-ending defamation with regard to Mr. Reed, as set forth in the complaint is not new, with his joining of LIV Golf, it has reached new, intolerable heights. As a result, enough is enough and it is time for Mr. Reed to protect not only himself and his family, but all LIV Golfers who have been maliciously defamed to further the PGA Tour’s and the DP World Tour’s allegedly illegal attempts to maintain their virtual monopoly and stranglehold over professional golf.

“Neither Chamblee, NBC’s Golf Channel, nor any of their alleged co-conspirators, such as the PGA and DP World Tour, are above the law, and they finally will have their day of legal reckoning before ‘Lady Justice.'”

MALACHIII – HOW TO BE A STAR

Singer-Songwriter Malachiii releases new single “How To Be A Star” featured in MADDEN NFL 23 GAME & Soundtrack, and Malachiii‘s Debut EPThe Ascension is out now!

ABOUT MALACHIII:

Malachiii knows joy. Over the last few years, the singer, songwriter, and producer from Southern California has demonstrated an affection for elastic flows, buoyant rhythms, and melodies lit by a magic-hour glow. This ecstatic energy has made his take on pop, hip-hop, and R&B infectious, but what makes it most special is his willingness to engage in heavy themes with a maturity and grace that belies his age, delivering grinning verses while pondering big questions. He’s come to understand that while his ultimate goal is to emit love, light, positivity, and good vibes, it’s most important to stay true to the real depths of his experience, even if it’s not always sunshine and rainbows. Malachiii grew up with the urge to perform, but it was after going on tour with GRAMMY Award-winning composer AR Rahman at the age of 14 that he felt inspired to write and produce his own music. His ability to translate relatable emotions into hooks earned him a publishing deal with Electric Feel (Post Malone, Iann Dior, 24KGoldn), which only bolstered his writing and producing efforts. Now, Malachiii is stepping into the spotlight in his own right with the recent release of his debut EP, The Ascension [Motown Records]. The EP’s breakout track “Hold Me” and his new single “How To Be A Star” are both featured in the Madden NFL 23 video game, only proving that he’s here to create a lasting impact within music and culture.

In the back-to-back premiere episodes, the crisis center focuses on peril surrounding some of the youngest members of the Chagrin Valley community.

Season two begins with the episode “Mama Bear to Grizzly Bear.” Supervisor Charline Polk, the Mama Bear of Chagrin Valley Dispatch, takes a 911 call from a concerned grandfather looking for his missing 2-week-old grandchild. Charline and the team combine forces to unravel the mystery.

In the second episode that airs immediately after, “Matt on the Move,” Matt Reinke has learned the ins and outs of dispatching and is ready for the next step. Before he decides to apply for supervisor, however, he must help a young girl threatened with a knife and a panicked caller with a baby struggling to breathe.

Throughout the season, episodes will feature dispatchers and supervisors calmly taking charge, extracting information to relay to law enforcement and first responders, all the while helping confused and frightened callers on the other end of the line. Viewers will see the team tested as a couple is heard screaming over an open line; when a welfare check spirals into a pursuit; when a caller must be coached into performing CPR before it’s too late; and a neighbor who pulls a gun on a caller and her family. The season includes many impactful stories driven by the dispatchers and supervisors who are largely unseen in the community, yet make a huge impact.

Frontier GTX Floorplans

The Frontier GTX is initially rolling out two floorplans – one that features an office and another with a unique bed configuration – and will expand the line in 2023 with one additional floorplan.

37RT – With its three slides, including a full wall on the passenger/patio side, the 37’ RV can easily accommodate a family or traveling couple. The front living area features a Dream Dinette that quickly converts from a table into a bed and a queen sleeper sofa that can be upgraded to power motion loungers. For who would like extra sleeping capacity, an optional Hide-A-Loft drop-down bed with an LED TV can be added. For coziness, the 37RT offers a standard electric fireplace in the living area. The all-electric kitchen with top-tier appliances also includes a pantry and the lavatory features a roomy 38” x 30” shower with a glass door. The master bedroom is a dream with a king bed and deluxe wardrobe closet. The closet is decked out with a dresser, hanging wardrobe space, pull-out hamper, overhead shelf storage, and numerous drawers. An optional side-by-side washer/dryer can also be specified. The Corner Office™ takes a portion of the wardrobe area to create the ultimate “work-from-the-road” option that’s available to RVers.

39TA – At 39’ and with two slides, the 39TA offers its own set of well-thought-out features. To begin with, both slides are located on the driver’s side, which means the passenger side of the coach is completely free for outside patio entertaining under the RV’s large awning. In addition, the coach’s luggage bays are easily accessible. Next, the front of the coach features the exclusive multi-purpose Adap-table® Dinette that serves as a convenient workstation or breakfast bar for two. By swinging the table out vertically, it easily hosts a dinner party for four.

In addition, the 39TA offers the much-sought-after 1-½ bath configuration. The full bath is located mid-ship with a half bath situated in the rear of the coach off the master bedroom. The layout means family members and guests have easy access to the full bath, which keeps the master area more private and less trafficked.

Finally, the master suite features a “north/south” queen bed. Instead of being against an outside wall, the bed is positioned in the center of the room, which allows ample space to walk around and easily make it in the morning. For those who like to watch TV in bed, a drop-down LED TV in the ceiling comes standard. Behind the bed and its headboard is a walled space that accommodates the half bath along with wardrobe storage.

“Another advantage of the “north/south” bed is the fact that, since the bed isn’t housed in a slide, it can remain fully extended while the coach is moving. That means you can access the entire bed and take a nap even when the slides are in,” explained Miller. “We’re extremely excited about each of the GTX floorplans because they are innovative in their own way and are designed to give RV owners exactly what they’re looking for.”

The Frontier GTX from Fleetwood RV has a starting MSRP of approximately $400,000.
