EST GEE — “5500 DEGREES”

Today, EST Gee shared the new music video for his raw and energetic single “5500 Degrees (feat Lil Baby, 42 Dugg and Rylo Rodriguez),” which has become a fan-favorite off the Louisville hip-hop artist’s debut label mixtape, Bigger Than Life Or Death.

On “5500 Degrees,” Gee joins forces with the Baby, Dugg and Rylo to put a fresh twist on Juvenile’s classic “400 Degreez” that was released in 1998. In the visual directed by Diesel Filmz, all 4 artists deliver dynamic bars that showcase their charisma and star power. Watch the video HERE.

Gee recently secured his first-career, Top-10 appearance on the Billboard 200 chart with Bigger Than Life Or Death, which was released via CMG/Warlike/Interscope Records and surged to No. 7 on the Billboard 200.

It has impressively gathered over 137 million streams globally to date as he continues to average nearly 4 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He also topped Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25 Chart and captured No. 1 on Apple’s All Genre chart. Stream Bigger Than Life Or Death HERE.

Last month, Gee made his major festival debut at Rolling Loud: Miami, where he performed several songs from Bigger Than Life Or Death and performed alongside labelmate 42 Dugg. He is also set to perform at Rolling Loud: New York and Rolling Loud: California as well as Made In America.

Bigger Than Life Or Death marks Gee’s label debut and the project was jam-packed with illustrious collaborations from Lil Baby, Future, Yo Gotti, Young Thug, Lil Durk, 42 Dugg, Rylo Rodriguez and Pooh Shiesty.

The mixtape went on to receive acclaim from several media outlets including XXL, OkayPlayer, BrooklynVegan, Complex, Fader and more. It also received rave reviews from VIBE who acclaimed, “…the Louisville native shines on this outing, as well as the entirety of his new project…” and Stereogum who recognized, “Even with all those big stars on the album… Bigger Than Life Or Death never loses its sense of personality.”  Gee was also recognized by Billboard who crowned him as “July’s R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month.”

Alternative, post-rock’s Alex Henry Foster impacts album sales charts worldwide with his live triple-vinyl / double-CD and concert film Standing Under Bright Lights following its release April 16. In its first week available at digital and streaming outlets everywhere from Hopeful Tragedy Records, the recording hit No. 4 in Canada (No. 1 iTunes Top Albums), debuted at No. 6 in Australia and reached No. 13 in the UK. The album also landed at No. 18 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists and No. 31 on its Current Album Sales charts while fans also quickly depleted the vinyl collector’s boxes available at his label’s store.

From Montreal and now residing in the highlands of Virginia, Foster’s full production, 11-piece band concert Standing Under Bright Lights was recorded live in front of a sold out Club Soda (July 2019) while Foster headlined the Montreal International Jazz Festival. The concert was named one of the top five events not to be missed by Canada’s national TV/Radio broadcaster CBC. Originally set to release October 8, 2020, which would have been his late father’s birthday, Foster decided to utilize the extra time the worldwide pandemic would give him to produce the recording and concert film.

With Rolling Stone labeling the album’s lead single, “The Son of Hannah,” “simply fascinating,” and the Montreal Gazette hearing “a remarkable buzz around the world with his challenging alternative rock,” Foster’s Standing Under Bright Lights has garnered acclaim across the globe. Along with an NRT Now “Next Big Thing” podcast interview, Foster has been recently featured by Prog MagazineICI Premiere (CBC), Louder Than WarBrooklynVeganBetween The Grooves, PAN M 360FYI Music NewsTVKRebel NoiseAll RockMr. Vinyl and many more.

Along with lead singles “The Son of Hannah” and “Winter Is Coming In” that have received hundreds of thousands of plays across numerous playlists, Standing Under Bright Lights features every song from Foster’s debut solo album, Windows in the Sky, which hit No. 1 multiple times on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, staying in the Top 40 on the chart for a full year after its release. The songs from this celebrated album were re-invented for the live recording as the band performed along with a movie projection produced by Foster. Almost 2 hours and 30 minutes long, the concert at which Standing Under Bright Lights was recorded is now considered among the best concerts throughout the 40 years of the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

Playing the new music and fan favorites on tour, Foster and his band are preparing to tour internationally with 23 dates in Europe set to begin next month, pandemic allowing.

LORD HURON, VIDE NOIR:

“cinematic”

Vide Noir adds touches of garage-rock distortion to a narrative of love and fortune found, inspired by classic pulp fiction writers like Raymond Chandler and illuminated by a mysterious emerald glow. It’s the spookiest entry yet in a growing catalog of the atmospheric, the melodic, and the arcane.”

“They evolved into an expansive festival-folk juggernaut that will take their fizzy

and fuzzy upcoming third LP, the Dave Fridmann-mixed Vide Noir, to a large outdoor amphitheater near you.”

“More than ever before, it sounds like Lord Huron had the ambition and the confidence to take their sound to all kinds of new places, with no rules, and no concern for what anyone expects Lord Huron to sound like.”

“The tracks are robust and muscular, hitting on the tune-fulness and warm

melodies that fans of the band would expect, but sounding more ready than ever for the big stages that they will be playing.”
