Amazon Expansion of Disaster Relief Hub via Judge PR for use by 360 MAGAZINE

AHAH × AMAZON

As the country prepares for a devastating 2022 Atlantic hurricane season, volunteers and staff at All Hands and Hearts (AHAH), a non-profit helping people and communities impacted by disasters, are getting essential support and supplies after logistical-powerhouse Amazon announced last month they would be doubling the size of their Global Disaster Relief Hub in Atlanta to assist more than 10 disaster response groups — including AHAH — helping communities impacted by disasters in the Southeast U.S.

In addition to doubling the size of storage space within the hub to 20,000 cubic feet, Amazon plans to donate 1 million items of critical relief supplies — twice the amount donated last year — and increase logistical support that will allow AHAH and other like-minded organizations to get more disaster-relief supplies to damaged communities faster. With 2022 slated to be a destructive year for hurricanes and other disasters, AHAH is working with Amazon now to pre-position necessary supplies so that they may be shipped and delivered at a moment’s notice.

“We launched Amazon’s Disaster Relief Hub in June of 2021 in Atlanta due to the city’s strategic position with regards to ground and air logistics. Atlanta is near the Gulf Coast, Atlantic Coast, and Caribbean, which typically bear the brunt of hurricane landfalls,” said Abe Diaz, Amazon’s Head of Disaster Relief. “Thanks to this hub, Amazon is able to utilize its existing infrastructure to deliver supplies quickly without being in the direct path of hurricanes.  We’ve partnered with All Hands and Hearts since 2017 and admire their track record to deliver help when people need it most, and we want to support their efforts with our logistics scale as we support our other disaster relief partners.”

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)  is estimating an “above-normal” Atlantic hurricane season, including a 70 percent chance of three to six major hurricanes. This marks the seventh consecutive year of above-normal hurricane seasons for the U.S.

AHAH, whose nearly 64,000 volunteers have responded to disaster-stricken communities around the world, will be able to work with Amazon to preposition critical humanitarian supplies, including shelter materials, hygiene supplies, medical equipment, cleanup and repair materials, and other household items.

“When responding to disaster-stricken communities, timing is of the utmost importance. We need critical supplies delivered to these impacted areas as quickly as possible,” said Jess Thompson, CEO at AHAH, which specializes in community cleanup, home rebuilds and other disaster relief efforts. “When you’re waiting to see where disaster is going to hit next, you need a partner with national logistics already in place to act fast; what better partner can you ask for than Amazon, one of the nation’s largest delivery services?”

According to Amazon, the company has even made it easier for people and businesses to donate products included on AHAH’s Charity List through AmazonSmile, Amazon’s charitable shopping service. Amazon customers may also select a verified organization as their preferred non-profit through AmazonSmile, which gives 0.5 percent of eligible purchases to a customer’s charity of choice.

Additionally, AHAH will be working with Amazon to identify commonly requested items and procure disaster relief kits, which Amazon donates and distributes to disaster areas. These kits include non-edible items that are often sought after by displaced residents, including first aid supplies, towels, blankets and items for personal hygiene.

Amazon began organizing its disaster relief and response efforts in 2017, which saw Hurricanes Irma, Harvey, and Maria ravage the southern U.S. and Caribbean islands. To date, Amazon has provided more than 18.3 million items in response to 81 natural disasters and humanitarian aid crises around the world, with multiple disaster relief hubs established in Slovakia, Poland, Australia and India.

Amazon is proving to be an essential humanitarian partner for All Hands and Hearts, which has impacted more than 1.2 million people and mobilized over 63,000 volunteers to approximately 100 sites across the globe to help communities affected by catastrophic disasters, including wildfires in Butte County, California, hurricanes in Louisiana and Guatemala, tornadoes in Kentucky, earthquakes in Peru and Mexico, tsunamis in Japan and more. Adriano Mudri Next To A Nevera Car via Rimac Automobil for use by 360 MAGAZINE

ADRIANO MUDRI

Adriano Mudri, former Director of Design at Rimac Automobili, is taking on a new role within the Rimac Group, becoming Chief Design Officer at Project 3 Mobility. He will be leading a team specifically dedicated to this transformative mobility service – currently operating in stealth mode – and overseeing the complete process from idea to public rollout.

Having graduated from FH Joanneum with a focus on Transportation Design in 2007, followed by taking on roles at Magna Steyr, General Motors, and Qoros, Adriano Mudri was already on track for a glittering automotive design career.

In 2010, he first met his fellow countryman Mate Rimac. With no funding, no team and absolutely no guarantee of success, Mate proposed that he and Adriano work together to design the world’s first all-electric supercar. He could have easily chosen the well-trodden route of an established car manufacturer, but Adriano believed in Mate’s vision, motivated by the opportunity to not just design a car, but to conceive a completely new car brand and to create something that’s going to change the industry. And to do it all in his home country.

The task ahead of him was immense. While most cars are designed by a team of tens, if not hundreds of designers, Adriano took on the task of designing the Concept_One and conceiving the Rimac Automobili design DNA from scratch. While working at General Motors, he would also spend his evenings and weekends designing every single little detail, from lamps to wheels.

Adriano’s challenge was to establish a design language for an entirely new type of car, an electric hypercar, from a country with no automotive heritage. He was starting with a completely blank canvas, free from constraints of tradition, but with the weight of the knowledge that this car must succeed from its get-go. His creation must subtly emphasize its unique four-motor all-electric powertrain, it must stand shoulder-to-shoulder with designs from the world’s greatest manufacturers and it must be proudly Croatian.

The car that would become Concept_One began development in 2010. Adriano’s design evolved as he refined the idea of symmetric double curved lines, reminiscent of an inverted Venturi channel, which itself subconsciously communicated the idea of speed. These lines also provide a suitably understated nod to the car’s Croatian heritage, harking back to the cravat (necktie) – long associated with Croatian soldiers since the Napoleon times.

The Concept_One itself was free from outlandish aerodynamic additions, immediately recognizable and – as time has gone on to prove – everlasting in its proportions and sculpting. At one point, Adriano coincidentally found a Concept_One lined-up next to one of the most beautiful supercars of all time, the Lamborghini Miura, and found the proportions to be almost identical. Today, an example of Adriano’s first Rimac design sits in the Petersen Automotive Museum in California.

With the Concept_One, Mate Rimac and Adriano had introduced the all-electric supercar into the world’s consciousness, blazing a trail that many then went on to follow. This meant, that when it came to designing Concept_One’s successor – the 1,914hp Nevera – competition was fiercer than ever.

Now with a team of 25 designers and the challenge to build a car that would be globally homologated for sale in markets all over the world, the level of complexity in designing Nevera was much higher than Concept_One. Adriano’s design language for Rimac subtly evolved in the Nevera, with the Rimac design trademark cravat motif, muscles, and clean lines immediately marking it out as a member of the Rimac Automobili family.

Refining the design from Adriano’s initial sketches was a process that took years, as homologation and engineering constraints threatened to detract from his vision. The short front overhang was redesigned again and again until it complied with USA crash safety regulations – whilst keeping the design theme – and the generously sculpted side profile was saved from additional air vent intakes for the rear powertrain, with the engineers challenged instead to improve upon the package and radiator ducts to achieve cooling and aero targets.

In the interior, a unique H-shaped Rimac-designed battery allowed the driver and passenger to sit low down in the car, lowering the roofline of the Nevera by about 150 mm compared with a flat-floor battery.  The unique powertrain setup and possibilities to interact with the car, allows also for a completely new and unique user experience for the driver. Whilst all driving-specific inputs have physical and engaging interfaces, the infotainment and regular vehicle functions are accessible via the touchscreen. Ergonomical and tactile billet aluminum control knobs had to be designed to look precious and technical besides feeling solid and giving the driver confidence, all while being able to break off under a certain load for unbelted USA impact tests. Everywhere there were challenges and obstacles, but Adriano and his team created a new breed of hypercar with a timeless design and a next-generation interface.

With all sorts of different custom-configured Neveras rolling off the production line and into the hands of customers throughout the world, an ever-increasing amount of Adriano’s time has been spent working on the Rimac Group’s next revolution. Focused on the future of mobility, the company is currently operating in stealth mode, designing a highly complex product and service, with funding already secured from several high-profile global investors and plans to introduce it to the world in late 2024.

Having been involved with Rimac Automobili longer than anyone else aside from Mate Rimac, no one understands the long-term vision of the Rimac Group quite like Adriano. He has already moved to take up solely the role as Chief Design Officer at Project 3 Mobility, leading a team specifically dedicated to the project and overseeing the complete process from idea to start of service.

Mate Rimac, Founder of the Rimac Group, said: “When I met Adriano in 2010 all I really had to show for my work was an old BMW 3 Series that I had converted to electric power. And yet, he completely understood the vision and the potential of creating an all-electric hypercar in Croatia. Adriano has been by my side since the very beginning, and without his fierce determination and eye for detail, Rimac Group would not be the company that it is today.

Now, as we look to revolutionize another area of mobility, I want Adriano to be the one that establishes its future personality and image of a completely new type of product and offering. With Concept_One and Nevera he made the idea of an electric hypercar mainstream, with a design that immediately communicated its heritage and its innovations. What we have planned next is an even larger technological leap but this time in a completely different challenge and goal. I am looking forward and very excited for the outcome of this new endeavor that we’ve taken on.”

ABOUT THE LAST ARTFUL, DODGR

Close your eyes and try to imagine the musical lovechild of The-Dream and Diane Warren. The person you should see is The Last Artful, Dodgr. The rapper and singer-songwriter (pronouns: she/they) defies the boundaries of hip-hop and the binary with heady bops like “Hullabaloo” and “Better Safe Than Social.” Both an artist and a muse, Dodge captivates with a trippy aesthetic that comes alive through their fashion, music videos, and socials.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dodgr—whose name is a reference to both their hometown team and Oliver Twist—didn’t start secretly writing music until college at Cal Poly Humbolt. But there were so many signs pointing them in that direction. For example, they started to master words and language early as a baby; and their formative musical inspirations included Missy Elliott, Princeand Sam Cooke. Living in an artist “greenhouse” in undergrad and scribing songs that they kept to themselves, Dodgr knew that she was incredible. But that musical ingenuity blossomed when they made the fateful decision to move to Portland.

Dodgr, ever sui generis, grew a following in Portland, despite the city’s reluctance to hip-hop, and dropped their first mixtape 199NVRLND in 2013. Collaborating with other local talent in the area and dropping singles like “Oofda” and “Jelly Hunt,” she established herself as a lyrical heavyweight with an edgy creative ear. This is what put them in the orbit of Aminé, who invited Dodgr to lend their colorfully animated voice as a background vocalist during their performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in 2016. In 2017, they appeared as a feature on Anderson Paak’s Oxnard alongside Snoop Dogg and in 2019 they were tapped by Mark Ronson to contribute to the soundtrack for the animated film Spies in Disguise. Even hip-hop legend, Black Thought wanted in on Dodgr’s action, recruiting her for several songs on his 2020 album, Streams of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane & Able. But Dodgr’s most notable hit to date is their smooth, infectious 2020 single “Hot,” which snagged a placement on the Emmy-winning HBO series Euphoria

Now signed to Interscope Records and hard at work on a debut album, Dodgr is offering a 360 creative experience like other multi-hyphenates like Tierra Whack, Smino, and Tyler, the Creator. They stay true to their roots as a wordsmith, writing lyrics that are thought-provoking. But Dodgr is playful and light-hearted, not above waxing poetic about ass and titties, either. Combining her lavishly buoyant voice with unrestrained visual artistry, she pours into her music videos, style, and live performances as she does the records she produces. In a nutshell: Dodgr is a musician on a completely different plane.

Today Dodgr identifies as a genderfluid, masc presenting femme. They stay balanced with a Gemini sun and Taurus moon. What we have here is the next queer icon.

Before now, if you wanted to learn about DOMi & JD BECK the internet’s most hyped jazz duo you had to visit their website, click a rat playing saxophone, and read a story about a 12-year-old physicist (DOMi Louna) and a 6-year-old sheep investigator (JD Beck). Let’s fix that. My philosophy of life is don’t take shit too seriously, says DOMi Louna, born Domitille Degalle. And that’s fair. But the vibrant world she and her collaborator have given us demands exploration.

They would reveal a bit more on their Instagram profiles, via clips of their jams, with JD on a simple drum kit and DOMi Louna on MIDI keys. She favors sounds that evoke ’70s jazz fusion and the colorful blips of 2000s Pokemon soundtracks, while he tunes and plays his snare in ways that can sound electronic, channeling IDM and boom bap. Sometimes they’re stuffed into a bathroom and sometimes the drums are muffled by pretzels stacked on the hi-hat, or toilet paper tossed on the snare. Their music finds both humor and greatness in harmonic complexity and rhythmic shiftiness, abruptly adopting and ditching tempos, toying with time signatures, and sneaking extra beats into bridges.

The collaboration began under silly circumstances. DOMi Louna was a teen proteg at Berklee by way of the Paris Conservatory; JD, four years her junior, had gigged since grade school around his hometown, Dallas first in producer Jah-Born’s band where he duetted with MPC beatmakers and DJs spinning Dilla. In 2018, they were both invited to join an ensemble performing at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) trade show and played in a room full of blaring instrumental demos, surrounded by a chaotic din. It was so bad, we couldn’t hear anything, JD laughs. They bonded over gauche keyboard effects and mom jokes, and a more audible jam that night sparked interest in working more.

Along the ride, DOMi & JD BECK have sat in with Herbie Hancock and backed Thundercat, Ariana Grande, Mac DeMarco, Eric Andre, and more. They also co-wrote Skate on .Paak’s GRAMMY-winning album with Bruno Mars as Silk Sonic. Neither can believe what’s happening, but leave it to them to skewer the moment. When JD suggests people might hate the new album, DOMi Louna says, That would be sick! Booo. They suck!

Listen to the track here. “DESPECHÀ” serves as the first new music offering since the release of her globally critically and commercially acclaimed landmark Spanish language album MOTOMAMI, which continues to be the most highly rated album of the year, according to Metacritic

Says ROSALÍA, “There are many ways to be Despechá, in this theme it is from the freeness or the craziness, moving without reservations or regrets. This is the place from where I make music, from where I did it when I first started and where I will continue to until God says so. I’m grateful for having been able to travel in recent years and have learned from music from other places including the DR, where artists like Fefita La Grande, Juan Luis Guerra and Omega have inspired me and without them this song would not exist.”

Lyrics here.

ROSALÍA first shared “DESPECHÀ” – which loosely translates to ‘heartbroken, scorned’ – from stage during her MOTOMAMI WORLD TOUR, surprising yet delighting fans. The reaction was lighting fast, with fans hyper enthusiastic response spreading like wildfire. Press response was equally effusive, with the venerable El Pais declaring “…Rosalía has achieved the song of the summer without officially releasing it yet.”

Currently, ROSALÍA is in the midst of her first ever global tour – MOTOMAMI WORLD TOUR – with sold-out shows across the globe. With fans lining up days in advance at each venue, the much buzzed about awaited tour has been delivering an unforgettable evening of innovative choreography and Rosalia’s distinctive world class vocal capability throughout a 30+ song production based on the artist’s recentmilestone MOTOMAMI album and many more of her earlier chart-topping and groundbreaking hits, including the new “DESPECHÀ.”

  • ”The new queen of pop dazzles at the first concert of her tour… this is the future… a sensory feast of [such] exact minimalism. it not just breaks the fourth wall, it shatters it.  Rosalía’s voice is precise, exciting and takes songs to another dimension – showing that she sings deeper than anyone else…  She can conquer the world singing in Spanish, [and is] going to put an end to the Anglo-Saxon hegemony of world pop.” (See more detailed review highlights below)

The massive Live Nation produced 46 show run across 15 countries will continue Saturday, July 9th in Sevilla, Spain and make additional stops in Latin American and North America before wrapping up in Europe on December 18th with a performance at Paris’ Accor Arena. Rolling Stone noted that “Rosalía delivers a wild, innovative pop spectacle on her own terms.” For more information or tickets please visit rosalia.com

ROSALIA’s “MOTOMAMI TOUR”- Opening Night In Almería- Translated Review Highlights

“We were not prepared! … Rosalía’s MOTOMAMI World Tour  is Tremendous… and  absolutely overwhelming. A full-fledged trip to the future!  The concert begins with a set of blinding white lights that gives way to Rosalía and her dancers (los motopapis), and a thunderous noise of engines… the sensation is that of having entered directly into a time tunnel and jumping to some subsequent decade. The concert proceeds with  fantastic choreography and a narration that runs smoothly despite handling diverse genres, languages, and technologies… turning into a dystopian fable… there are as many Rosalías as there are songs on this tour (almost thirty of them)… she’s been rehearsing long enough for this to run like clockwork. And boy does she do it. The Motomami World Tour is a true reflection of those disruptive and strangely beautiful TikTok videos that served as a letter of introduction for the artist to present the best album of the year.  …Everything is of an overwhelmingly exact minimalism. And with so little it is not that it just breaks the fourth wall, it shatters it. … this is the future. And it’s a future where at times it seems like you’re watching a deconstructed contemporary dance show, at others a magnetic performance and at times, an aggressive parade of something darkly beautiful. But there is one thing that remains unchanged in this sensory feast and that is Rosalía’s voice. She is precise, exciting and takes songs to another dimension -showing that she sings deeper than anyone else. Today Rosalía has once again made it clear that she has the best legion of followers (they sing absolutely everything), that she does what she wants, that she does not need to fill the stage with anything or anyone so that she and her songs shine, and that she is not going to take a step back on this fascinating path that she has undertaken [toward] a Blessed and bright future!” – El Pais

“Rosalía’s MOTOMAMI TOUR begins its conquest  of the world. The Catalan artist is crowned the new queen of pop and dazzles at the first concert of the international tour… At this point we can already say that 2022 will be remembered for being the year in which Rosalíaand her Motomami’ impeccably consolidated the process of world domination. It is not a hyperbole. …Rosalía is famous for being a perfectionist and that self-demand was noted in a perfectly calibrated show in which she and her voice are the absolute center. The artist is accompanied by a group of eight dancers who, rather than performing a choreography, merge like a human mass around her, joining her gestures and the narrative of the songs…  Rosalía has achieved several things that do not always necessarily go together: the popular acclaim of a public with a lot of accumulated desire,  and the blessing of critics that have surrendered to an album that is a wet dream for her risk, her courage and her overwhelming mix of genres, Another thing that Rosalía has shown is that… she can conquer the world singing in Spanish. She has already done so, developing a new and very personal language that at times seems to come from the very future… [and is] going to put an end to the Anglo-Saxon hegemony of world pop.” – El Mundo

Imagine Dragons recently made history again. “Thunder” achieved a diamond certification, enshrining the quartet as “The First Band/Group in Music History to Achieve FOUR Diamond Singles.” Meanwhile, their new double-disc opus Mercury — Acts 1 & 2 (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope) bowed at #12 on the Billboard Top 200 and earned some of the best reviews of the band’s career to date. Rolling Stone attested, Imagine Dragons still know how to efficiently stomp stadiums into rubble,” and American Songwriter hailed it as “a celebration of life.” Consequence of Sound applauded, Act II is an even more intimate gesture that further explores themes of loss and recovery, and The Associated Press summed it up best as “the sound of a band getting its arena groove back.

The 32-track epic album debuted on Friday, July 1st, and marks the boldest artistic statement of the band’s career thus far. Executive produced by Rick Rubin, the double album includes hit singles “Enemy,” “Bones,” and “Sharks” and expands on 2021’s Mercury — Act 1. While Act 1 explores themes such as love, faith, pain, passion, and loss, Act 2 focuses on sorting through personal loss and the biggest existential questions of their career.

Listen to Mercury — Acts 1 & 2 HERE. Target is also offering an exclusive CD featuring an alternative cover and extra track, available HERE.

To bring both halves of the record to life on stage, Imagine Dragons will take to the road and kick off a massive US stadium tour that will begin in August, making stops in Boston, Toronto, and their hometown of Las Vegas before wrapping up in Los Angeles, CA in September. The summer tour marks the band’s biggest North American shows of their career. Check out the full itinerary HERE.

About Imagine Dragons

With over 66 million album equivalents and 55 million digital songs sold, not to mention over 110 billion combined streams, Imagine Dragons are one of rock’s biggest bands of the past decade, and they’ve fully reinvented the genre in that time. In short, they own Billboard’s Top 3 rock songs of the 2010s — “Believer,” “Thunder,” and “Radioactive.” Formed in 2009, Imagine Dragons developed a grassroots following with a series of independent EPs before making their major-label debut on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope with 2012’s Continued Silence EP. That same year, their LP debut NIGHT VISIONS entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2, while lead track “Radioactive” topped Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs, won a GRAMMY® for Best Rock Performance, and achieved RIAA Diamond status. After achieving their first #1 at Alt Radio with “Radioactive,” the band immediately repeated this feat with “Demons,” marking the first back-to-back #1’s for the band, with both songs in the Top 5 simultaneously. NIGHT VISIONS is now 7x platinum in the US alone. 2015’s platinum-selling Smoke + Mirrors debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The 3x platinum-selling album EVOLVE followed in 2017, earning a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album and unleashing three No. 1 Alternative radio hits: “Believer,” GRAMMY®-nominated “Thunder,” and “Whatever It Takes.” All three songs were also top 5 hits at Alternative radio. “Believer” was the quickest song to reach #1 for Imagine Dragons, taking only 8 weeks to reach the top of the charts, with “Thunder” following closely in its rise to the #1 spot. With these singles, it marked the second time Imagine Dragons had back-to-back #1s, making Imagine Dragons one of only four bands to ever achieve simultaneous Top 5 singles and the only band to repeat this feat. The band’s fourth album and platinum-selling, ORIGINS, debuted atop Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts, while its lead single “Natural” spent nine weeks at No. 1 at alternative radio.

For their fifth studio album—Imagine Dragons’ first new music since 2018—the band teamed up with esteemed producer Rick Rubin. 2021’s Mercury — Act 1 debuted in the Billboard 200 top 10 and at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. It also launched the singles “Wrecked,” “Cutthroat,” and “Follow You,” with the latter reaching No. 1 on both Mediabase’s Alternative Radio and Billboard’s Alternative Airplay charts. “Follow You” marked the band’s quickest ascent to the top of that Billboard chart, surpassing the respective seven- and eight-week climbs for “Natural” (2018) and “Believer” (2017). Then came “Enemy.” Originally released as the theme to Netflix’s Arcane, the hit racked up more than 4.6 billion combined global streams across two versions (including a collaboration with GRAMMY®-nominated, Atlanta-based rapper J.I.D), helping make Imagine Dragons the highest streaming American band in the US in 2021. In 2022, they expanded the world of Mercury with a double album, Mercury – Acts 1 & 2, including the single “Bones,” which has gathered over 380 million streams to date, and the accompanying music video has scored 38 million-plus YouTube views.  Sorting through personal loss and the biggest existential questions of their career, singer/songwriter Dan Reynolds says the two-part release is about learning to “accept the unknown” and “let go,” healing feelings Imagine Dragons are hoping to share with fans as they embark on some of their biggest shows ever this summer.
