The New York Giants and inCourage Announce New Partnership To Improve The Lives of Young Players On and Off The Field

The New York Giants and inCourage, a national organization devoted to keeping kids playing organized sports, today announced a new partnership that will further their shared commitment to educational programming to help combat declining youth sports participation rates. The partnership is focused on delivering evidence-based solutions to some of the most pervasive problems facing youth sports.

“The New York Giants have a longstanding history of supporting initiatives that improve the lives and well-being of youth, and our partnership with inCourage enables us to expand our relationships in this focus area”, said Allison Stangeby, VP of Community Relations, of the New York Football Giants.

On inCourage.com, a unique mix of academic and creative talent come together to end the pervasive toxic culture that is a destructive force in youth sports, offering real solutions from sports psychologists, athletic directors, educational and media experts. Some of the issues that are addressed are bullying, hazing, parents’ increasingly abusive and confrontational behavior, early specialization, and ill-equipped coaches. All of these issues frequently result in kids dropping out of sports, a concern that is becoming an epidemic: The overall decline in youth sports participation has now dropped to 38 percent from 45 percent in 2008.

Ted Shaker. CEO of inCourage, acknowledged the significance of the New York Giants’ support. “The solution-based videos and resources that inCourage creates would not be possible without impactful partnerships like the one from the New York Giants, which will directly support our work to prepare student athletes for success on and off the field,” he said.

The New Era 2019 Official NFL Sideline Home Collection features designs dating back to 1919, when the League was first founded. All caps in the New Era 2019 Official NFL Sideline Home Collection feature the team’s established year on the right side with thoughtful details that reflect the following decades:

1910’s-1920s: These caps feature a piped crown with a melton wool fabric and team color visor and team patch embroidery. Teams featured in this decade include Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and New York Giants.

1930s – 1950s: Featuring a dark melton wool with a team logo patch, these caps feature the team’s established year, along with the current logo is displayed on the right side. Teams featured in this decade include Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins.

1960s: These caps combine popular styles from the 60s, like retro script logos and woven rope, with a modern look. The caps from this decade include Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Raiders, Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings.

1960s – 1970s: Screen-printed logos, foam and mesh were popular in this timeframe, so these caps feature screen-printed logos on a foam front and mesh backing. Teams featured in this decade include Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

1990s – 2000s: Caps from these decades include alternate color blocks within each team logo. Franchises featured in these decades include the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Alternatively, the New Era 2019 Official NFL Sideline Road Collection features a clean, minimalist look that boldly displays a team logo on the front of the cap with a silicon patch displaying the established year on the right side. The road caps are available in a mix of silhouettes, including 59FIFTY® fitted, 9FIFTY® snapback, 39THIRTY® stretch fit, Visor and women’s 9TWENTY®.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS CELEBRATES BASKETBALL HERITAGE AND NEW YORK CITY WITH RIVALRY

adidas Originals reinvigorates an iconic silhouette that pays homage to an era of basketball legends

• Rivalry comes back in its iconic colors, influenced by the passion of New York basketball fans

• The style is honored with a pop-up exhibition curated by Eric Emanuel, featuring works by New York City creatives Brock Fetch, Tyrrell Winston, and New York Sunshine. In attendance at the exhibition launch were a roster of New York athletes: Kristaps Porzingis (New York Knicks), Allonzo Trier (New York Knicks), Allen Crabb (Brooklyn Nets), Charone Peake (New York Jets) and Cody Latimer (New York Giants)

Following a long-standing lineage of basketball silhouettes over the past several decades, adidas Originals continues to honor the sport’s heritage with the special re-issue of Rivalry in New York City last night. Revitalizing a peak era of New York basketball, which spearheaded a communal spirit of fierce pride, the cult classic is for lovers of basketball style on and off the courts. Returning in all its glory, adidas Originals teamed up with notable sportswear designer Eric Emanuel to debut the latest Rivalry model, inspired by New York’s undying passion and love for sports.

The shoe was celebrated through a pop-up gallery exhibition curated by Emanuel, showcasing the indisputable influence of basketball style into the realms of fashion, art, photography and more. The blank space was transformed into an interactive gallery covered in gritty, city-inspired installations that bought the shoe to life through the works of photographer Brock Fetch, mixed media artist, Tyrrell Winston and creative collective, NY Sunshine.

In true Big Apple style, Rivalry wheat paste posters drenched the exhibition entrance, surrounded by a canopy of scaffolding and sneakers hung from wires. Guests then walked through an exclusive showcase of collaborator works that included photography, installations, and a product showcase. On view was the latest iteration of the Rivalry Hi-Top, accompanied by both an archival silhouette from 1986 and a preview of what’s to come from the three stripes brand and Emanuel later in the year.

Staying true and honoring its predecessors, the latest Rivalry iteration will feature premium leathers that nod to the famous “Team Series” from the late 80s. The model stands out in a bold blue and orange colorway with adidas branding emblazoned on the tongue.

Today, adidas Originals will open the gallery up to the men’s and women’s basketball team from local New York school, High School of Fashion Industries, as well as the general public from 12:00 pm through until 5:00 pm. The surrounding streets of the exhibit will also play host to adidas street scalpers handing out admission tickets to the pop-up where guests have the chance to grab a limited edition Rivalry-inspired t-shirt designed by Eric Emanuel.

The Rivalry High OG will be available at select adidas retailers on Friday, February 8th and will retail for $110 USD.

The Rivalry Gallery is located at 158 Mercer Street, New York Street, NY.

“Tailgating is truly one of my favorite things, there’s nothing better than grilling and hanging out in a parking lot before the big game or even a concert,” says Josh Capon. “Several years ago, my friends and I formed a tailgate themed fundraiser called ‘The Tailgate with a Cause,’ and we’re pleased to share that, moving forward, the charity will become the official charity of National Tailgate Weekend and we thank Learfield for their generous donation.” adds Capon.

Chef Capon will share tips, recipes and demonstrations via National Tailgate Weekend’s website and social media channels. We look forward to kicking this relationship off and sharing his tailgating tricks of the trade and recipes leading into the official weekend.”

For 2017, in addition to confirming more than 600 schools to participate and a celebrity chef, a number of retailers (including Amazon, Follett, Barnes & Noble, Rally House, Scheels, and LIDS, etc.) and several licensees (including Wincraft, LogoBrands, Victory Tailgate, Tervis, Boelter Brands, Top of the World, etc.) will partake in the holiday.
