OAKLEY – MOONVEIL

Oakley releases Moonveil, a limited-edition collection that fuses elevated design and innovation to create a whole new genre of headgear. Moonveil made its debut in the animated Future Genesis short film as a holographic projection. Now brought to life, the boundary-pushing headgear combines eyewear and headwear to sit in a category of its own.

Instead of a traditional frame with ear stems, Oakley Moonveil features a jet-black, knitted cloak, with reflective yarn lines, discreetly stitched to capture light and attention. It includes interchangeable dual Prizm™ lens shields on a swivel system, allowing wearers to adapt intuitively to changing light conditions. The Prizm™ 24K lens provides maximum eye protection and reduces light transmission for bright environments, while the Prizm™ Low Light lens increases light intake for when it is darker. The cloak is complete with zip-off front closures for a customizable fit, allowing open-faced styling or complete anonymity, based on individual preference.

The hyper-limited release includes just 100 serialized units. Each Moonveil will include original concept sketches from Oakley product designers and the Future Genesis ashcan preview comic by Dark Horse, which portrays Moonveil on the back cover.

The limited-edition design piece will be launching on Oakley.com in September 2024.

Tom Walker- Holy Ghost

Coming off the back of a whirlwind sold out UK headline tour, as well as a series of hugely successful ‘Tom’s Town’ UK pop up appearances, BRIT Award-winning artist Tom Walker today unveils his epic new single “Holy Ghost.” The track is the third official single to be taken from his highly-anticipated new album I Am, out September 20th and available for pre-order HERE.

For this gargantuan new track, think: Hozier produced by Labrinth – hymnal, electronic soul that takes the familiar contours of the love song and reimagines them. Listen HERE.

“It’s a bit like the kind of soul that’s in Take Me to Church, but with darkness, too.” explains Tom. “At that point, my wedding was 11 days away, and I wanted to write a love song that didn’t really feel like a love song. It could be about any person that cares for you and looks out for you. Who’s a shadow over you, making sure that you’re OK.”

The end of last year saw impeccable releases in “Burn” and “Freaking Out” – both of which Tom performed with aplomb on Later…With Jools Holland. Watch HERE & HERE.

Where previously, Tom became known for powerful accounts of other people’s stories, including a friend’s battle with drugs (“Leave A Light On”), and articulating his own relatable feelings for his now wife (“Just You & I”); on his new album he now finds himself writing about his own personal struggles and anxieties, creative challenges, sadness and moments of despair. It is a sometimes-visceral account of who Tom Walker is in 2024, hence the title: I Am.

I Am is a culmination of me trying to figure out who I am for the last four years.” explains Tom. “This record is a snapshot of what’s been going on in my life, and what’s been happening around me – what’s made me happy or sad, ecstatic or miserable.”

After writing, and binning, a plethora of new tracks, an exhausted Tom subsequently headed out to Los Angeles to write with the McDonough brothers, Toby Gadd, Ryan Daly & Castle, who’s credits between them include Beyonce, Joji, Khalid, Mimi Webb and John Legend. The trip reignited the excitement and love of trying brand new things.

The results speak for themselves with “Freaking Out,” “Lifeline,” “Burn,”Head Underwater” and now “Holy Ghost.” Looking ahead, Tom will take on UK festival dates before heading out to the US and Canada for a headline tour and will return to the UK & Europe for an arena tour with The Script to close of the year.

As Tom succinctly puts it; I will die for these songs. It’s the first time in a long time I’ve felt like that. You’ve got to ignore what everyone else wants from you, and you’ve got to back yourself.”

L.C. Franke – Still in Bloom

Orchestral noir pop singer-songwriter L.C. Franke has released his debut album, Still in Bloom, today. Easy listening for anxious times, torch songs for a world on fire, orchestral pop for the algorithm age: this is the twilit milieu of L.C. Franke. The album builds a bridge between 20th-century nostalgia and our modern alienation. Across 10 tracks of pure mood-indigo music, inspired by the jazz-club savoir-faire of artists like Frank Sinatra, Scott Walker, and Ella Fitzgerald, Franke’s barstool croon smolders against a backdrop of woodwind trills and string quartet swells. It’s a musical tonic that pairs equally well with gin and general malaise — light on the ears, heavy on the heart.

PURCHASE/STREAM STILL IN BLOOM

The album was originally heralded with the singles “You and Me Against the World,” “You’re Not Alone,” and “Wish the World.” Soaked in exotica and existential disappointment and inspired by the likes of Leonard Cohen, “Wish the World,” was accompanied by a vintage-mystery thriller official music video. Magnet premiered the clip, and in an exclusive quote, Franke said: “I got a Facebook message from Dan Brown, an old acquaintance I hadn’t seen in about 20 years. It said, ‘I love the new music I’m hearing. We should make a video.’ The timing was impeccable, as I’d just been talking about making a video for ‘Wish The World’ — and Dan has a successful production house and a few Emmys. I met him for coffee, and we randomly started talking about films like Sunset Boulevard, D.O.A., and Where The Sidewalk Ends — and how ‘Wish The World’ would make a perfect noir soundtrack. We shot the video over three days around Austin. We worked on the scenes where I get strangled and drowned the most—and I was starting to wonder if that was just for everyone’s entertainment. The real star though is that beautiful ’89 Cadillac Brougham.”

In a previous life, L.C. Franke was known as Jeff Klein, an Austin-by-way-of-New York indie rocker who spent the better part of his youth garnering widespread acclaim as a solo artist, as a collaborator with countless other songwriters, and as frontman of the Southern gothic soul outfit My Jerusalem. But by 2017, Franke had hit a wall. Feeling lost and jaded, his mental health teetering, he decided to take a year off and reassess.

That hiatus turned indefinite with the pandemic and Franke found himself suddenly isolated and adrift, unsure whether he would ever get back to who he was. But then he realized, perhaps he didn’t want to. The opportunity for reinvention presented itself when his friend, the Bessie Award-winning dancer Melissa Toogood, asked him to compose the score for her performance with the Boston Ballet. Franke bought a Mellotron and began noodling around with the sounds of flutes, clarinets, and strings.

As he explored, Franke sat down at the piano and wrote “You and Me and Us Against the World,” the song that would become the lodestar for his new musical approach. The music brought him back to his roots – all those Brooklyn and Fort Lauderdale summers spent with his grandmother, Elsie Franke, losing himself in her dusty record collection filled with golden greats like Glen Miller, Blossom Dearie, and Jimmy Durante. In this music of his past, he saw a future. Borrowing inspiration from his grandmother’s records, and paying homage to her with his name, L.C. Franke was born.

“It really made me fall in love with music again,” he says. “I’ve always been sort of sentimental.”

Still In Bloom is the sound of midlife crisis turned spiritual rebirth. Recorded live in the room with an actual orchestra, and completed over just three weekend sessions, the album is both musically rich and emotionally direct. The shimmering “You’re Not Alone” and the slightly sinister “Wish the World” are enthralling, smoke-gets-in-your-eyes songs, rendered as sharp as a custom-cut suit, evoking lonely subway rides past abandoned automats, and those halcyon days before the Brill Building housed a CVS. The album finds its bruised thematic heart on its title track, “Still In Bloom,” where a pensive piano melody and wintry strings provide the stripped-down bed for Franke’s late-night ruminations on the everyday struggle to find resilience amid the ruins.

After making his live debut as part of Austin City Limits Music Festival’s 2023 ACL Nights, Franke has gone on to support such diverse artists as The Walkmen and The Wallflowers, earning applause and attention for his visionary approach to the music of the past. Becoming L.C. Franke has proven the gateway for this gifted artist to finding his truest self, allowing him to hang up the well-worn rocker persona and let the sophisticated songsmith that was always within him move at last to center stage.

“I take out the contacts, put on the glasses, and it’s like a reverse Clark Kent,” says L.C. Franke.

L.C. Franke & The Best Little Orchestra in Texas will perform at Pangea in New York City on July 25 at 7pm and The State Theatre in Austin, TX, on August 3.

Glass Animals – TOUR OF EARTH

KICKS OFF GLOBAL HEADLINE “TOUR OF EARTH” NEXT MONTH, WITH SOLD-OUT SHOWS AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN & THE KIA FORUM

“HEAT WAVES” BECOMES THE 11TH MOST-STREAMED SONG IN SPOTIFY’S HISTORY

“I love you so f***ing much, I LOVE YOU SO F***ING MUCH, I love you SO f***ing MUCH, I love you so F***ING much, I LOVE you so f***ing MUCH. These words take on a different meaning every time you say them. The universe may make us feel overwhelmingly small, but we have this human connection that is far vaster and more mysterious. Love comes in an infinite number of forms and shapes, and sizes. It is so complex and so powerful that even witnessing the tiniest instance of it can change your life forever.– Dave Bayley

Today, GRAMMY® and BRIT-nominated, Diamond-selling British band Glass Animals releases their fourth studio album I Love You So F***ing Much via Republic Records—listen HERE. The album features their new single “Show Pony,” which the band debuted last night with a psychedelic live performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon—watch HERE. This morning, the band will be chatting with Anthony Mason on CBS Mornings about the new album and its creation process, as well as their upcoming tour—be sure to tune in.

Painting 10 portraits of love in all its messy forms, I Love You So F***ing Much is the most personal record that songwriter, producer, and frontman Dave Bayley has ever written. From the existential to the intimate, from the first love we witness around us as children, to romance, hate, and heartbreak—each song is dedicated to a different side of love. From a tiny teardrop in an airlock to a vast galaxy, I Love You So F***ing Much is an expansive record with retro-futuristic production that travels in and out of the “shapelessness of love. “Show Pony,” the album’s opening track, is a lucid tale of a relationship from start to finish. Bayley shares, “Our first blueprints of love are the relationships we see and experience growing up. They aren’t always perfect, but they completely shape our understanding of love. That’s why I wanted ‘Show Pony’ to open the album. It throws you in at the deep end, but that’s life.”

Having performed a string of intimate, underplay pop-up shows for fans across the world, including Elsewhere in Brooklyn this past week, Glass Animals begins their mammoth North American leg of their “Tour Of Earth” next month, playing arenas and amphitheaters to tens of thousands of fans across the country this summer, including sold-out dates at Madison Square Garden on August 13th and The Kia Forum on September 14th. The “Tour of Earth” continues in the UK and Europe later this year, with the band playing London’s O2 and then two nights at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt in November.

I Love You So F***ing Much is the follow-up to 2020’s critically revered Dreamland, which sold over 12 million copies globally and gave life to the RIAA Diamond Certified Heat Waves,” the record-breaking song that became the biggest international hit from a British band in almost 30 years. It was the first song to reach #1 with a single writer and producer since Pharrell’s “Happy, and led to the pop world’s biggest acts, including Florence Welch, all wanting to work with Bayley. But the birth of I Love You So F***ing Much was rooted in an existential crisis. Dave found himself struggling to make sense of this newfound global stardom, having watched it all happen while the world was in lockdown. “Life can change dramatically, but sometimes you aren’t able to change as quickly on a personal level. You end up feeling like a spectator. And then you are asked and expected to be a certain type of person, a different person. But…I wasn’t sure how. It confused me to the point of not knowing who I was or if anything was real.” It took being stranded on a cliff in a wooden house on stilts during one of California’s biggest storms in history to push that feeling into a full existential crisis. In forced isolation, watching trees tumble down mountains and assuming “death was coming,” Dave began asking questions of himself, of the universe, and of the human experience: namely, love. As he came to accept himself as an introvert, Dave realized that “human connection and the love between us is much bigger, more important, and more complex than anything else. However vast space is, deep human connections make the void seem less empty.

From one infinite song, that set the stage for the biggest British contemporary band to break records and tour the globe, to the infinite possibility of their profound cosmic fourth studio album, Glass Animals are ready to tell their millions of fans, and perhaps themselves: I Love You So F***ing Much.

Madison Beer – 15 Minutes

Madison Beer continues her summer reign with the launch of her new music video and single, ‘15 MINUTES,’ available now. Madison Beer teased ’15 MINUTES’ at her recent performance at Jimmy Kimmel Live Outdoor Stage, as well as small snippet at the end of her latest video ‘Make You Mine’ Most notably she has introduced snippets a handful of times on social media much to the delight of her fans, who feverishly viewed the previews in excess of three million times. Now, the thrilling new record is available to stream and watch.

’15 MINUTES’ features Madison Beer as she weaves a romantically thrilling tale that incites feelings of jubilee and intense curiosity – simultaneously. The cinematic video feature, directed by Madison Beer and Aerin Moreno, continues the storytelling theme found in Madison Beer’s recent video work, as the video finds Beer at the climax of a highly suspenseful escape room scene. ’15 minutes ago I was laying in bed / Then I had a crazy thought in my head / So I took the keys and got in the car / Don’t know how I got here but baby here we are’ she sings, meshing the lyrics with the unpredictable atmosphere of her new video. Viewers will need to buckle in.

’15 MINUTES’ follows Madison Beer’s immensely successful last single, ‘Make You Mine,’ which ascended to the #1 slot on the Billboard Dance Airplay charts in May, marking her first-career chart-topper as a solo artist. Its video, a feature inspired by the cult classic film Jennifer’s Body, earned Beer critical acclaim from outlets like Uproxx and Billboard, who raved of Beer’s dedication to creativity and intentional nostalgia.

It’s been quite a year already for Madison Beer, who received her first-career GRAMMY nomination at this year’s ceremony in February, a ‘Best Immersive Album’ nod for her sophomore LP, Silence Between Songs. Subsequently, she released ‘Make You Mine,’ a certified Dance hit, and just weeks later in April, she embarked on her 52-date Spinnin Tour, and released the ‘Make You Mine’ video just before the first night of the tour’s North American leg.

During this run, Beer sold out the legendary Radio City Music Hall and Greek Theater venues, creating viral moments to last for her highly engaged audience, evoking headlines and in-depth coverage from Teen Vogue, Miami New Times, Vegas Sun and more. Most importantly, the live trek allowed her to reach her fans in ways Beer had been yearning to.

‘I want to be honest with people. I feel like that’s why I have such a strong connection with my fans, because I am honest with them, and I want them to know that it’s not all just sunshine and rainbows.’ she told Teen Vogue, which attended Beer’s performance at this year’s JBL Fest in Beer’s home state of New York.

Forest Claudette – 2AM

Today, rising alt-R&B singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Forest Claudette releases the addictive new single “2AM.” Listen HERE and watch the visualizer HERE via Warner Records. Boasting a deep groove and intimate storytelling, the track beautifully illustrates the up-and-comer’s wholly unique sound. “2AM” is the latest taste of Claudette’s forthcoming EP, & Stone Between, due August 23.

Beginning with an invitation to tag along for a drive, the track soon morphs into a love song. “You should come through. You could be my entertainment,” they sing over swaggering brass and guitar, “elevate me, cut through — it’s a lot of straight lines.” Claudette then steers us to the sugar-rush chorus: “Quick yoga at 2AM, you and I are not just friends.” It turns out the song is based on a warm memory of a Friday date that led to love.

The new track comes just weeks after Claudette announced their & Stone Between North American headlining Tour and Australian dates supporting US sensation Omar Apollo. The tour kicks off September 11 in Atlanta, GA, at The Masquerade: Purgatory, and heads to several markets including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, and closes out the run on September 21 in San Francisco, CA at Popscene @ Brick & Mortar. See all tour dates below and head HERE for ticket sales.

2AM” and recent single “Moonlight” mark the beginning of a new era following their their four-track EP Jupiter, which features tracks like “Kobe Beef and “Big Wigs.” That project is thematically connected to & Stone Between, making for a broad, all-encompassing narrative. Prior to that, Claudette released a stunning cover of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ classic track “Can’t Stop” as well as their acclaimed Everything Was Green EP. That celebrated release included singles such as “Mess Around” featuring EARTHGANG, “Motor in the Sand,” and “Two Years.”
