Fisker, 360 MAGAZINE

FISKER – SUSTAINABLE SUV

Fisker Inc. – designer and manufacturer of the world’s most emotion-stirring, eco-friendly electric vehicles and advanced mobility solutions – has opened reservations for the world’s most sustainable electric luxury SUV, arriving in 2022, through its website and native mobile app – available globally on the App Store and Google Play store. Reservations are set at $250 (U.S.) per vehicle and are fully refundable.

Multiple industry firsts have arrived with the Fisker app featuring an innovative customer experience – from a flexible lease program, maintenance and repair on demand, insurance purchase to easy finance options. Overall, customers will be introduced to a radically different brand experience via Fisker’s unique mobile app platform, which may also include mobility options like green ride-hailing, carpooling and vehicle sharing in the future.

“Our mission is to become the No. 1 e-mobility service provider on Earth, featuring the world’s most desirable and sustainable vehicles while shaking up the old automotive industry model – from the way a customer attains a vehicle, chooses affordable insurance, services a vehicle to the overall mobility experience,” said Henrik Fisker, chairman and CEO of Fisker Inc. “People around the globe will be able to obtain the Fisker Ocean starting at $379 (U.S.) per month via our mobile app in 2022. We created five easy-to-choose option packages for Fisker Ocean that will be available to our reservation holders closer to the end of 2020. This removes the complexity of complicated option configurators and allows Fisker to offer more unique experiences for less money. Customers will be able to see the vehicles and option packages when we begin rolling out our experience centers in shopping districts and airports, as well as book test drives through our app closer to the start of production.”

The All-Digital Fisker Experience: Affordable. Liberatingly Flexible. Immersive.

The Fisker Ocean all-electric luxury SUV marks a new era in how consumers experience mobility – from the moment of selecting a vehicle until the time comes to return it. All through a convenient mobile app.

  • Reservations are now open through the Fisker mobile app or the Fisker website – set at $250 (U.S.): Drivers can get behind the wheel of the Fisker Ocean starting at $379 (U.S.) per month (with $2,999 down before delivery in 2022, which includes both initiation and activation fees). Fisker will also offer a “$0 drive off” option through a fully financed $2,999 down payment for credit approved customers. When a reservation is placed, exclusive new teaser images of the Fisker Ocean are revealed in advance of the vehicle’s public unveiling in January.
  • Experience centers and test drives: Customers will be able to see the vehicles and option packages at select Fisker experience centers in 2020 – as well as schedule test drives through their mobile app in 2021.
  • Liberating flexibility: Drivers get to decide how long to keep their Fisker Ocean. As an industry first, a customer can return the vehicle in one month, eight months, 22 months or several years. No long-term contracts, with 30,000 miles per year included.
  • Affordable insurance: Even attaining quotes for vehicle insurance will be made easy and hassle-free via the Fisker mobile app. Insurance quotes for drivers attaining the Fisker Ocean are projected to be significantly lower than other vehicles on the road today due to a unique and proprietary low cost of service and maintenance model.
  • A radical new service and maintenance experience: Fisker customers will never have to take their vehicles to service on their own, as Fisker will pick up and return vehicles when maintenance is required, or service is requested – signaled by the onboard system or through the mobile app.

More Details Revealed: “California Mode.” Utility Capability. Five-Star Safety Rating.

  • Leading up to the official unveil of the full production intent prototype, additional details of the Fisker Ocean are being released on the heels of the company’s previous announcement.
  • The patent pending “California Mode” feature will be standard on all trim levels, except the base version – allowing passengers to experience the sun, fresh air and an open feeling without being in a convertible.
  • Four-wheel drive versions – with electric motors at the front and the rear of the vehicle – will be available. Ample towing capability will also be a feature of the Fisker Ocean.
  • Unrivaled safety: The world’s most sustainable vehicle will also give drivers peace of mind with the highest five-star safety rating. A visible design feature on the lower body showcases the surface sculpture, wrapping around the protective side intrusion beams in the doors. It’s where form meets function in dramatic fashion.

High In Early Demand: Purchase Option.

Fisker will sell a very limited number of vehicles in response to numerous global customer requests for a purchase option. The full sale price of the Fisker Ocean will be announced in January 2020. The $250 (U.S.) reservation may also be applied to the purchase of the vehicle.

Global Unveil:  January 2020.

Fisker has skipped the standard automotive process of making a show car – and will instead reveal a fully running production intent prototype sitting on the completely engineered platform in early January 2020. The exact unveiling details will be announced in December 2019.

The World’s Most Sustainable Vehicle – From the Inside-Out.

  • Fisker Inc. believes that the industry should stop looking at innovation superficially and start taking responsibility for its products, end-to-end – giving customers the opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable future. Some of the Fisker Ocean’s features include (not limited to):
    • Full-length solar roof:
      • Supporting the car’s electric power source, boosting fuel efficiency and lowering carbon dioxide emissions. Result: 1000 free, clean miles per year.
      • As the technology evolves, Fisker will feature integrated hardware solutions for better energy yields and more free, clean miles per year.
    • Fully recycled carpeting:
      • Made from regenerated nylon, which is made from abandoned fishing net waste – pulled from the oceans and aquaculture.
    • Vegan interior:
      • 100% Polycarbonate Polyurethane surfaces and 100% reinforced Rayon backing.
      • Meets stringent chemical emission limits for various VOCs (such as Formaldehyde).
    • Eco-suede: interior textures and patterns – Dinamica:
      • Derived from polyester fibers (T-shirts, fibers) and recycled bottles, plastic, etc.
      • Recycling polyester means reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 80% compared to the traditional petrol-based polyester production process.
      • Eco-sustainability, as well as the lowest levels of polluting emissions and energy consumption, are guaranteed throughout the whole production cycle.
    • Repurposing rubber waste:
      • Fisker will utilize discarded rubber waste generated during tire manufacturing that will no longer be dumped in landfills.
      • Recycling saves impressive amounts of energy, which ultimately reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
    • All-electric SUV range:
      • The all-electric SUV will come standard with an extended range (target of approximately 250 to 300 miles, depending on driving conditions), enabled by an approx. 80 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The Fisker Ocean is targeted to begin production at the end of 2021 – with the first high-volume deliveries projected for 2022.

CITY GIRLS

The wait is over! Today Yung Miami and JT – together known as City Girls – release their first single together since JT was freed from prison: “You Tried It.” Listen HERE. The internet exploded when JT got out on October 8, 2019, with City Girls holding eight of the top 25 trending topics on twitter – not just trending but trending under eight different topics! (#2 JT FREE; #6 JT HOME; #11 JT IS FREE; #15 JT IS HOME; #16 Caresha; #19 Yung Miami; #20 JT OUT; #23 SO JT).

Even with JT incarcerated, the girls have racked up 1.2 BILLION streams within two years, with City Girls’ hit records “Act Up” and “Twerk (feat Cardi B)” both RIAA Certified platinum. Separated after JT turned herself in for credit card fraud charges in July, 2018, the same day Drake’s “In My Feelings (featuring City Girls)” was released, Yung Miami has been holding it down: touring, performing, recording videos and features as City Girls. But last month JT was not only released, but Yung Miami pushed out her bundle of joy, Summer. Both got new chains: JT a ‘City Girls’ chain from Miami; Yung Miami a small fries chain celebrating her new small fry – and favorite food – from McDonalds  “YOU B**CHES IN TROUBLE!! MY B**CH [IS] HOME!” Yung Miami tweeted, announcing JT’s freedom. And on her first day out, City Girls released the record “First Day Out,” with JT citing “Stop with all the rumors, and tell your nigga I’m home / And it’s on / Period.” JT and Young Miami are uncensored, unapologetic, sharing a commitment to their hood roots and a bold insistence that the culture they come from shouldn’t stop them from getting a piece of the cash pie. One of the most provocative female hip-hop duos in years, JT and Yung Miami are trailblazers of the next generation of female who speak out as raw and confident — and with as much swagger as the boys.

LOEWE FOUNDATION

CHANCE ENCOUNTERS V

3 DECEMBER – 31 JANUARY

For Art Basel Miami Beach 2019, the LOEWE FOUNDATION will present the fifth exhibition in its Chance Encounters series, bringing together artists from various disciplines in unexpected conversations. This year British artist Hilary Lloyd will present a major site-specific textile, sound and video installation that will engage in dialogue with the monumental 18th-century Portuguese granary permanently installed. Large-scale ceramic sculptures by Ewen Henderson will also occupy the space.

‘The Chance Encounters exhibitions are an opportunity to create conversations across time, between artists whose work resonates strongly with my own creative approach’ says Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of LOEWE. ‘Hilary Lloyd’s work is perfectly attuned to the contemporary moment and the way in which we engage with the visual world around us. It will stage a striking dialogue with Ewen Henderson’s bold materially-rich work.’

Hilary Lloyd (b. 1964, Halifax, UK) lives and works in London. For almost 30 years Lloyd has been working with film and video within sculptural installations. The idiosyncratic way in which her films are shot — making use of repetitive movements, jump cuts and sweeps — which often verge on the abstract, conjure both her own restless gaze and the experience of increasing speed that characterizes the way in which we consume images today. In recent years the technological apparatus foregrounded as part of her installations, block monitors and screens, have been accompanied by scatter-like installations incorporating curtains, frames and other set-like objects, that play with the idea of the space around the films being activated by the viewer. These installations reveal her interests in architecture, fashion, textiles and digital space.

For the exhibition, Lloyd will transform LOEWE’s Miami store through interventions of colour and textiles. Monitors will be presented throughout the space, on which she will present a new series of films shot in and around her studio in the Thamesmead area of London where her studio is located.

In and amongst Lloyd’s installation will be several large-scale ceramic sculptures by Ewen Henderson (1934 – 2000) – one of Britain’s most esteemed artists working with clay. Henderson studied under Hans Coper and Lucie Rie at the Camberwell School of Art in 1968 and was part of an illustrious generation of potters alongside Gordon Baldwin, Gillian Lowndes and Ian Godfrey, who explored a new sculptural language for ceramics. While often working with vessel forms and frequently creating vases and tea bowls, Henderson’s commitment to hand-building allowed him to freely manipulate the clay, often pushing his forms towards complete abstraction. Inspired by the material nature of clay itself, Henderson was interested in exploring ideas of the elemental and geological; his use of roughly-textured surfaces and layered colour often resembles the stratified nature of rock or earth. His totemic works which will be presented as part of the exhibition also evidence his interest in neolithic and ancient art, embracing the timeless quality of clay as one of the fundamental materials used by humankind.

MAGNETO’S NEW MISSION

MAGNETO UNDERTAKES A NEW MISSION IN HICKMAN AND OLIVER’S GIANT-SIZE X-MEN

The artist-focused X-Men series continues in March with a tale about the master of magnetism!

When Giant-Size X-Men hits stands next year, X-Men fans will get to see Jonathan Hickman’s bold vision for mutantkind unfold in epic adventures told by the industry’s most acclaimed artists. These large-scale but standalone stories will be specifically designed to highlight the artist’s talents, and each issue will focus on a specific character. This March, Hickman will team up with legendary artist Ben Oliver to turn the spotlight on the master of magnetism, Magneto!

Created by Stan Lee himself, Magneto’s been a fixture in the X-Men mythos since the very beginning. Although he debuted in 1963’s X-MEN #1 as the X-Men’s premiere super villain, he eventually became one of their fiercest members. Under Chris Claremont’s pen, Magneto was equipped with a tragic backstory, shedding light on his motivations and developing him into one of the most complex characters in the Marvel Universe. An unrelenting champion for mutantkind, Magneto once again finds himself leading a mutant nation, but this time, he has all of mutantkind including the X-Men standing at his side. Determined to make this new dream of Krakoa prosper, Magneto must now make dealings with his former sworn enemy— humanity!

Ben Oliver, known for his seminal work on ULTIMATE X-MEN, is the perfect artist to capture the emotion behind Magneto’s new role as mutant ambassador. “It’s been many years since I last worked on an X-Men related project, and I couldn’t be happier than to be working with Jonathan,” Oliver said. “I’ve long been a fan of Jonathan’s work, and Magneto as a character, so to collaborate on this project is fantastic.”

GIANT-SIZE X-MEN: MAGNETO will be the second of five essential one-shots with the first, GIANT-SIZE X-MEN: JEAN GREY AND EMMA FROST debuting in February. Uniting Jonathan Hickman with the best artists in the industry, these stories are destined to be instant classics that fans won’t want to miss! Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about more GIANT-SIZE X-MEN issues coming your way next year and which of your favorite artists will be showcased next!

How to Save Money For What You Really Want

Whether you are looking to save money in order to clear your debt, purchase a new car, put a deposit down on a new home, stage the perfect wedding,or go on the vacation of a lifetime, these simple budgeting tips will help you save money. It might seem difficult at first, but the key is to look at it as a spending plan rather than a restrictive budget. You will not be quitting spending completely, instead you will be prioritizing some financial goals over others.

Make a Budget

A popular budget that many people use to save money is the 50/30/20 budget.

  • 50% of your post-tax income is used for necessities.
  • 30% is devoted to things you want.
  • 20% is stowed away in savings.

If you stick to this spending plan, you should be able to save a lot of money over the course of a year.

Use Digital Tools

There are lots of apps out there to help you budget. Some banks automatically transfer money from your checking account to your savings account each time you spend. You will not even notice that the money is gone until you start to see your savings grow. This is great because it allows you to save money with the minimum amount of effort.

Collect Your Change

Empty your pockets when you get home each day and put the coins in a money box. Checking down underneath the cushions on the sofa, or underneath your car seat are also great ways to help fill your pot.

Cut Down on Expensive Clothes

It is possible to spend vast amounts of money keeping up with the latest trends in fashion. However, the clothes are often overpriced and tend to go out of style very quickly. It is okay to splurge on something you really love occasionally, but for the most part you can get high quality clothing at sites like this for a fraction of the cost.

Plan Major Purchases

Always plan to make major purchases, such as household appliances, furniture, computer equipment or cars, during annual sale periods. Post-Christmas, January sales and Black Friday events are perfect for this. Another underappreciated tip is to wait two days before making a purchase, even after you have decided on which product you are going to buy. This helps prevent buyer’s remorse.

Remain a Stranger to Online Stores

A great way to limit the amount of money you spend online is to opt out of creating online shopping accounts. You are much less likely to make impulse buys if you are required to go through the arduous process of filling out all of your personal data and billing information each time you click through to the online checkout.

Make Your Own Gifts

The cost of buying birthday, Christmas, anniversary, and wedding presents for all the various people in your life can really add up fast. It is not only much more economical, but it is usually seen as more thoughtful and caring to make your own gifts to give to loved ones. Even if you don’t spend a lot of time creating arts and crafts, sites like this can give you the inspiration you need to make a great gift.

REAL SPORTS WITH BRYANT GUMBEL

returns TUESDAY, NOV. 26 at a special time (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT) exclusively on HBO

Excerpts from the Real Sports segment “Sidelined” HERE.

Emily Gervais of Weymouth Mass., is part of a trend -– kids pushing themselves harder and harder in the hyper competitive world of youth sports – picking a single sport at a very young age – then playing it hours a day, virtually every day of the year – until their body simply gives out.

Dr. Min Kocher at Boston Children’s hospital had seen so many kids just like Emily Gervais (a teenage soccer player now retired after twice tearing the ACL) that he wanted to find out if the same thing was happening in the rest of the country.

So he gathered data from hospitals all over the US … and what he found was remarkable. The number of ACL reconstruction on children and adolescents had spiked nearly five times in just a decade.

It’s all part of a trend Real Sports has been reporting on for the last three years … the professionalization of youth sports … a $19 billion dollar industry … fueled by kids and their parents pursuing athletic achievement at seemingly any cost.

Less well known are the physical costs as young people determined to keep up with the competition are picking a single sport at a very young age then playing it several hours a day, virtually every day of the year.  Until their body simply gives out.

Dr. Nirav Pandya is a surgeon at the University of California/San Francisco. He says that the number of surgeries he does on child athletes has doubled in just the last five years… but he doesn’t sound happy about all the extra business.

The question is: What will it take to change an American youth sports system that produces so many sad outcomes – major injuries that impact and sideline so many young athletes?

Dr. Neeru Jayanthi at Emory University in Atlanta  says that it’s time for parents and sports administrators to act.  That this is a public health crisis.  And that he’s got the numbers to prove it.

DR. NEERU JAYANTHI: “We have data that’s quite clear that you’re more than twice as likely not only to just get injured, but to get a serious overuse injury if you specialize in sports.”

HBO’s JON FRANKEL: “That seems to be a pretty clear and easy data point to explain to somebody. That if you let your kid specialize in one sport and play season after season, you’re more than twice as likely to get an overuse injury.”

DR. NEERU JAYANTHI : “Yes. Why do we wear seatbelts? Why do we stop smoking? We have data. We now have data on this.”

Dr. Jayanthi presented his research this month at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, stating that the sad truth is that elite-level youth sports is not something that improves your health today.

*Youth Sports Injuries. The professionalization of youth sports pushes more kids than ever before to train year-round in a single sport. And with that pressure has ignited an epidemic across the country – a spike in overuse injuries and orthopedic surgeries performed on children as young as eight. Correspondent Jon Frankel reports on the uptick, such as ACL tears and stress fractures, and how they are hampering children’s future health at an early age.

Spine Health at Holiday Dinner

1. Maintain good posture the entire time. Proper digestion only occurs when we are sitting up straight. Good posture is defined as ears aligned with the shoulders and the “angel wings,” or the shoulder blades, retracted. In proper alignment, spinal stress is diminished. Recent studies show that gastric emptying is significantly delayed in the supine position when compared to a sitting position.

Furthermore, “If you’re slouched over your plate, food cannot travel to the stomach in time for your body to tell your brain it’s getting full; it can take twice as long; thus, causing you to eat twice as much leaving you full and tired.

2. A brief family meditation for peace and happiness. Coming back together as a family means leaving many personal worlds of happiness, sadness and development behind. Take time out to honor and recognize this transition. Sit quietly together, hold hands and briefly recognize the personal worlds. Then state an intention to have a great family get together.

Dr. Ken says: Meditation is the process of calming the body and mind while allowing a connection with the universe. We are all so busy with our day-to-day activities and thoughts that we lose track of our goals, our vision, and our life plan. This non-stop grind prevents us from being thoughtful and performing the tasks necessary for our well-being and body maintenance.

3. Deep Belly Breathing: Deep belly breathing helps with digestion of food by enhancing motion of the belly and its food contents. Deeper yet though it serves to improve the motion of the spinal segments, spinal cord and nerve roots, and it increases the cerebrospinal fluid motion and distribution. Deep breathing might also decrease the swelling of the deranged spine joints and the nerve roots causing less pain. Deep belly breathing in itself will help you to feel better.

Dr. Ken says, “A deep breath of clean fresh air is as soothing to the body as a large glass of cool water on a hot summer day,” so place your hands on your belly and breathe deeply to feel your belly move. Repeat this all day.

4. Small bites and small breaks will allow you to enjoy a steady-paced meal without needing to slow down or stop eating entirely. Take small bites of the highly caloric sides like mashed potatoes, stuffing and cheesy casseroles, but load up your fork with Turkey and string beans. Take a 5-minute break between each helping to allow your stomach to catch up with your eyes.

5. Chat, “Take time out to engage in and enjoy the conversations around the table. When you are actively engaged and fully involved in a fulfilling conversation then you spend less time eating and more time feeling externally better. The craving for food and internal satisfaction diminishes” Ask each person how they are doing. Find out about their little inner workings in life. Your family will manifest happiness, and then you become happier leaving you with less of a desire to binge.

6. Savor your desserts. Use a demitasse spoon to eat. This spoon is diminutive, smaller than a teaspoon. Allow the dessert to sit on your tongue for a minute. Allow the two to 8 thousand taste buds on your tongue to delight in the vanilla or chocolate, cinnamon, and other contents. Feel the texture and temperature of each bite. Train your taste buds to enjoy and delight in the taste and textures. Otherwise you become involved in volume consumption. This is where you eat so much to feel that your belly is full.

Dr. Ken says, “Evening out the trajectory of a meal that can last 3-4 hours takes some purposeful technique. On average, it takes between 12-14 minutes for our bodies to recognize we’re full. Keeping this in mind, begin your dinner with small thoughtful fork-full and pay attention to your body’s signals. It will tell you when to take a break, so you can save room for dessert!

7. Mini Chair Exercises (bends and twists) help you keep your blood pumping and metabolism working. Bending to the right or left (as if you were picking up a fork you dropped) and sideways twists (like you’re greeting a guest behind you) are two small, but effective ways to help your body digest.

Dr. Ken says, “Small range-of-motion exercises help ensure your body’s digestive functions keep up with your food in-take and your blood pressure remains stable. This will help ward off headaches, cramps and gas at the dinner table.

8. After Dinner Walk. Schedule a family walk after dinner. Walking helps digestion of food and builds a togetherness of the tribe. It is a great family routine to build. People start to feel better because the spine joints and the spinal nerves start moving with walking. One of the fastest ways to develop back or neck pain is to remain stagnant. When the spine joints and the spinal nerves do not move, then they can cause pain.

For the seventh year in a row, Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside has been recognized as the best ski hotel in Canada by consumers and leading industry professionals. Held on November 23rd, in Kitzbühel, Austria, the World Ski Awards – regarded as “the Oscars of the travel industry” – honoured the all-suite, lodge-style hotel for its impeccable and personalized service, outstanding amenities, and unrivalled location steps from gondolas to both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.

The World Ski Awards were created to elevate standards within the ski industry, recognizing, rewarding, and celebrating excellence in ski tourism across the globe. Awards span across the world’s top 25 ski tourism nations, with categories that include ‘Best Ski Resort’, ‘Best Ski Hotel’, ‘Best Ski Boutique Hotel’, and ‘Best Ski Chalet’. Each year, hundreds of thousands of tourism professionals, skiers, and media cast their votes for their favourite ski tourism destinations and brands; and this year, winners were celebrated at the three-day awards gala that took place between November 22nd and 24th

Pan Pacific Whistler overcame a strong mix of contenders from across the country, defeating properties such as The Fairmont Banff Springs, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, The Rimrock Resort Hotel, and Post Hotel & Spa. Neighbouring properties, including Four Seasons Resort & Residences Whistler, and The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, were also nominated for the national award.

“Our team is so humbled and beyond thrilled to once again be named the best ski hotel in Canada”, said Julie Lanteigne, general manager of Pan Pacific Whistler hotels. “It’s so gratifying to have been nominated among such an elite group of properties across the world and to know that this prestigious title is a result of votes from our visitors and industry peers alike. An award such as this continues to motivate us to elevate the experience of each guest as they discover why Whistler is regarded as the world-class ski destination that it is.”

The property’s sister resort – Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre – located in the heart of Whistler Village, received a nomination for best ski boutique hotel. The property also has a selection of suites with a private residence feel, complimentary daily breakfast buffet for all guests, and easy access to all adventures Whistler offers.
