Baby Goth “I Do”

Baby Goth releases her new track “I Do” today via Republic Records. With her new track, Baby Goth conjures all kinds of feels. Over a skittering beat, her hypnotic vocals take hold and don’t let go, slipping from intimate verses into a seductively chantable hook. She takes the reins with commanding charisma and unapologetic crooning.

Through a cloud of smoke, under a gallon of ink and behind a quietly rising counterculture, Baby Goth sprinkles a dash of darkness and a dash of danger across hip-hop, alternative and pop. Her 2019 self-titled debut EP, Baby Goth generated 30 million-plus streams as the lead single “Swimming” feat. Trippie Redd & Lil Xan amassed 4.7 million Spotify streams and 8.5 million YouTube views. Meanwhile, “Sugar” feat. Wiz Khalifa eclipsed 1.1 million Spotify streams and 4.7 million views. In In early 2020, she teased the oncoming storm with “Afterparty,” which quickly surpassed 1 million Spotify streams and 1 million views on its iridescent video. She has received press praise from HYPEBEAST, Complex and more as LA Weekly recently claimed she “brings a breath of fresh air to the pop/R&B/hip-hop landscape.”

Mike Mago – Recognize

Today, Dutch DJ/producer Mike Mago shares a new single entitled “Recognise.” A danceable beat propels the song forward through swells of bass and glitchy keys. Reaching a crossroads between deep house bliss, progressive scope, and unassuming pop power, the vocals by Tim Powell culminate on the echoes of a catchy confession, “Oh darling I don’t recognise me” before a muscular and magnetic drop. “Recognise” arrives on the heels of Mago’s Astralwerks debut “On Repeat” with Kelli-Leigh. Mago graced the cover of Spotify’s “New Dance Revolution” playlist and claimed a coveted spot on UK’s “New Music Friday” as well as “You Can Do It,” “Ibiza 2020 Deep House, mix, Ocean Beach, Nassau Beach…” and more playlists. Not to mention, ONEEDM praised it as “a great track for any occasion.” The rising star recently joined NGHTMRE, Sofi Tukker, Matoma and more as part of the Blockeley Music Festival—a two-day virtual festival in Minecraft celebrating the recent graduates of UC Berkeley. More music from Mike Mago coming soon!

ABOUT MIKE MAGO:

Shawn Wasabi Debut Album

For the last five years, Shawn Wasabi fans have eagerly awaited a full-length project from the multifaceted artist, creator and weird kid forever. Today, Wasabi brings the worldhis long-anticipated debut album, MANGOTALE, a body of work that reflects personal growth, musical maturity and this summer’s biggest pop anthems. Out today on Facet/Warner Records, Wasabi has crafted a versatile collection of polished pop cuts reinforced by an all-female crew of singer-songwriters including kennedi, raychel jay, SATICA and more. The 12-track album includes today’s new single, “MEDICINE ft. Tia Scola,” the project is the perfect stay-at-home soundtrack.

On the story behind MANGOTALE, Shawn writes: “MANGOTALE is my first full-length project & I’m incredibly excited for people to listen to it! I produced almost the entire thing on my laptop at home! I’ve changed, developed & grown so much over the last five years – my understanding of the world, of myself & my personality; being disassembled & reassembled; making friends; the people I’ve interacted with & my different musical inspirations/mentors. I feel like this project perfectly expresses that shift while also channeling the energy & emotion I had in those different chapters of my life. MANGOTALE also flexes a lot of my musical range between collaborative pop energy production and weird knob-twiddling audio manipulation sound design.”

Facet Co-Founder Justin Tranter adds: “What Wasabi has done on MANGOTALE blows my mind. It’s a high-level production masterpiece grounded by a collection of the most charming joyful songs maybe ever. Just like Shawn himself, the high-level musicianship never comes off as pretentious because he is smiling and laughing the entire time.”

MANGOTALE kicks off with new track “princess peach,” a nostalgic Nintendo-inspired instrumental intro followed by “HALO HALO (ft. Chevy),” a catchy love song about seeing that special someone again after quarantine. Sweet turns to sour with the bitter beloved single “LEMONS (ft. kennedi),” followed by a dose of “MEDICINE (ft. Tia Scola),” a sultry cut about feeling the good kind of sick – love sick. Halfway through the album come two of Wasabi’s biggest releases, the timely and addictive “ANIMAL CROSSING”and the flavorful favorite, “SNACK (ft. raychel jay).” The boldest in the bunch, “tokyo tea (ft. Spacegirl Gemmy)” fuses elements of future bass with eccentric rap stylings, an ode to Wasabi’s effortless versatility and kitschy electronic sound. Closing out the album, the dream-pop cut “LOVE POTION (ft. raychel jay)” precedes the playful tongue-in-cheek hit, “HOME RUN (ft. raychel jay),”finishing with the languid instrumental outro “IGLOO,” featuring subdued vocals fromWasabi himself.

Since his record-setting release of “MARBLE SODA” in 2015, Shawn Wasabi has become the internet’s favorite creative character. Having evolved from a bedroom YouTube sensation to an established pop hitmaker, MANGOTALE is a testament to Wasabi’s respected reputation as a songwriter and unrivaled skills as a producer. The album speaks to Wasabi’s Filipino roots, referencing cultural cornerstones that are at the core of his craft. He also timed the release of MANGOTALE to Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, celebrating his identity by sharing his music with the world.

Each track on the album is visually represented by a character from Mango Island, designed by illustrator Ann Alonso. From princess peach to MARBLE TEA to HALO HALO, Wasabi has created his own idyllic paradise for fans to explore when they listen to MANGOTALE.

Anna Sofia – Either Way

After catching the attention of critics with her first EP Self Aware Bitch, Anna Sofia has released her brand-new song “Either Way” today. The track will be the first single off of her upcoming Broken Perfection EP out July 17th.

On the song Anna Sofia said: “I wrote this song as a note to someone Ireally care for. They have been struggling with body image issues and have always been very self-conscious. I wanted to find a way to really get through to them and let them know how I feel about them -to let them know that I love them no matter what they look like.”

In addition, this release is the first time Sofia and her producer Jeff Hazin were able to work with Jeff Kleinman (Frank Ocean, FKA Twigs, Beyoncé). On working with Hazin Sofia said: “Working with Jeff Kleinman was huge for Jeff Hazin and I. Jeff K was a super amazing person to work with and it was pretty crazy to even get the chance to be in a studio with him. He has worked with some of my favorite artists from Frank Ocean to Beyoncé, so to be able to work with someone that I look up to is so unreal to me and I’m so thankful for the opportunity.”

The song adds to the accolades Anna Sofia received from her debut Self Aware Bitch EP which received critical acclaim from Ones To Watch,Affinity Magazine, That Buzzing Sound and more and accumulated over 3 million cumulative streams. In addition, she released the official music video for the song’s title track “Self Aware Bitch” which shows Anna tackling dodgeball try-outs and school drama with a twist ending.

The project was primarily produced by rising producer Jeff Hazin with Grammy® nominated producer Frank Dukes (Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Post Malone) lending his talents to the song “Self Aware Bitch.” A triad of successful singles set the stage for the six-song EP. On the heels of “Meaner Girl” and “I Try,” she closed out 2019 with the buzzing “No Fun.” Streamed nearly half-a-million times on Spotify, OnesToWatch claimed, “The charming single is a pleasant introducer to her forthcoming EP, Self Aware Bitch” and dubbed it “an impactful introverted anthem.” Contagiously confident and irresistibly melodic, Anna Sofia asserts herself as a powerful presence in 2020.

16-year-old Toronto singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist ANNA SOFIA threads together narrative pop with the scope of a classic nineties teen flick and the unpredictability of 21st century genre-bending. Through a pure perspective only an insider could possess, Anna Sofia chronicles these moments and so much more in her music. Streamed over 3 million times independently as of 2019 and acclaimed by Ones To Watch, Lyrical Lemonade, and Complex who dubbed her, “a prodigious new talent,” she places listeners in the front row of her world on the introductory 2020 EP, Self Aware Bitch [Electric Feel/Republic Records], and her forthcoming full-length debut.

KYGO Third Album “Golden Hour”

Traditionally, the golden hour marks either the first hour of light after sunrise or the last hour of light before sunset. In both cases, it heralds a change. Representing another new dawn, global superstar, producer and DJ, Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll – a.k.a Kygo, has today released his aptly-titled third full-length album Golden Hour via Sony Music International/Ultra Records/RCA Records. The album features 18 songs including previously released singles “The Truth” with Valerie Broussard, “Lose Somebody” with OneRepublic, “Freedom” with Zak Abel, “I’ll Wait” with Sasha Sloan, “Like It Is” with Zara Larsson and Tyga, and “Higher Love” with Whitney Houston, the latter of which has more than 651 million audio and video streams combined and charted at Top 40 radio. Full album tracklisting below. Kygo kicked off his album release day with performances of “Lose Somebody” with OneRepublic and “The Truth” with Valerie Broussard on Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. During 2018, Kygo began to assemble what would become Golden Hour between a marathon of touring. While writing music throughout the year, he simultaneously partnered with Sony to launch his own label and management company, Palm Tree Records. Taking an active role in signing and promoting artists, songwriters, and producers, he hit his stride in the studio alongside Palm Tree talent, including Petey, Nick Furlong, Valerie Broussard, Dreamlab and Tom Martin. This “family” approach added a new dimension to the process. “I was fortunate enough to work with some of my favorite artists and writers on Golden Hour,” said Kygo. “There are quite a few songs on the album where I had the chance to collaborate with our team. These are artists I believe in. Working with some of my favorite up-and-coming musicians really made these songs special for the album.” Golden Hour also sees Kygo’s genre-breaking vision come to life. His single “Like It Is” with Zara Larsson and Tyga spotlighted co-production by Petey and represented another progression by incorporating hip-hop verses. Kygo’s melodies, airy drums, and delicate piano locked into a matchmade in heaven with Zara Larsson’s voice as Tyga turned up on a nimbly rhymed cameo. On its heels, he reunited with Sasha Sloan for the soulful tropical house anthem “I’ll Wait.”

Elsewhere, “Freedom” with Zak Abel elevated his signature sound with a steeple-size vocal performance from Abel; Tom Martin co-wrote “To Die For;” Valerie Broussard co-wrote “Don’t Give Up On Love” and “The Truth,” the latter of which she also lends her vocals on; and Nick Furlong co-wrote “Say You Will” and “Someday.” “Someday” was also co-written by Zac Brown who lends his vocals to the track. These 18 songs illuminate the scope of Kygo’s creativity and the bold breaking light of Golden Hour. “With every album or next song I’m working on, I always try pushing myself to evolve and experiment with new ideas,” he goes on. “I couldn’t be more proud of these 18 songs. It was really hard to narrow the final tracklist to just 18. The album has a few songs that are more up-tempo than my earlier albums, but still have the classic ‘Kygo’ sound.” Kygo will perform Golden Hour in its entirety during his virtual Golden Hour Festival presented in partnership with live streaming entertainment leader LiveXLive and Palm Tree Crew today at 4PM ET. The event will be broadcasted on Kygo’s YouTube channel powered by LiveXLive. Fans can also watch on @KygoMusic and @LiveXLive social channels including Twitch, TikTok and Facebook, as well as on LiveXLive’s apps and website.

Kygo has also partnered with Calm, the No. 1 app for sleep, meditation andrelaxation, to create a custom 60-minute “Golden Hour” mix exclusively available on the platform. Is Music Important in The Gaming Industry?

When you consider the video game industry and the work that goes into developing these games, your first thoughts might go towards the actual game developers. While these are arguably the most important cog in the process, many more people are involved in the entire production of a game.

Most people don’t realise it, but music is actually very important when it comes to video games and how they feel. In this article, we will look at the importance of music in the gaming industry. Keep reading to hear more about this.

Why Is It Important?

There are many reasons why music is important in the gaming industry including the fact that it helps to immerse players in the game. If you have played a game before and not noticed the music or the soundtrack then the game developers have probably done a great job. The point of the music is not to distract from the game but to tie the entire thing together. For this reason, a lot of importance is placed on the musical elements of a game.

Which Kinds of Games Use Music?

While you will find certain games don’t come with any music at all, just sound effects, there are plenty that have carefully curated soundtracks. Some developers will have music composed specifically for the game while others will utilise existing tracks that have been licensed to them for use in the game. Whether you are playing a game on your Xbox or a casino game like those described at bestcasinobetting.vip, you’ll find music in the game somewhere.

Typically, the big budget games made by companies like Nintendo will have a special focus on music.

Does This Affect the Industry?

For those interested in how this affects the music industry, you’ll find that it certainly has a large impact. With huge numbers of people around the world playing games every single day, you can expect a few of them to listen to a song and want to hear it again. This has meant that many artists have benefited from their songs which feature in soundtracks, as have the composers who create songs specially for certain games.

Artists like Toto, Ariana Grande and Michael Jackson have all had their songs feature in some video games and this has opened them up to brand new audiences. Over time, video game fans start to enjoy listening to these songs that are often in the background.

Conclusion

The music industry and the gaming industry have their crossovers and many top songs appear in famous video games. With artists in the music industry benefiting from their songs being played over and over, this is often a mutually beneficial deal. Some fans prefer to hear music that has been composed for a video game, but this can be costly and take much longer.

It is clear from what we have discussed that music is very important in the video game industry. Make sure to listen a bit closer to your favourite video game to see what is going on.

Duckwrth – “Find A Way”

Critically acclaimed rapper Duckwrth releases his new feel-good anthem “Find A Way” feat. Alex Mali and Radio Ahlee today.

“In this journey we call life, us as humans will inevitably fall off the path. Sometimes due to forces outside of our control. But we always find our way. This is the theme song to Our Comeback. Let’s Find A Way,” says Duckwrth on the track.

The South Central sonic insurgent delivers a global anthem powered by pulsating analog synths, organic tribal percussion, nimble rhymes and a soaring refrain. The combination of percussive stomps and soulful choruses immediately energizes creating an uplifting, upbeat and undeniable track.

Over the last five years, LA-based wunderkind Duckwrth has quickly risen up the ranks as a promising star of the future of music. His collection of critically acclaimed projects including Nowhere (2015,) I’m Uugly (2016), Xtra Uugly (2017) and The Falling Man EP (2019), have transcended streaming platforms and landed in films, TV series, and brand ad campaigns and have received critical acclaim from a vast amount of outlets including Colors, i-D, The FADER, Complex and more.

This cumulation has led the rapper to become an international touring staple, headlining shows globally and opening for superstars Billie Eilish and Anderson .Paak. Duckwrth’s song “Start A Riot” was featured on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack. His music has appeared in campaigns for the likes of Cadillac, Microsoft, Peloton, Amazon and Apple Music, and he’s worked with fashion legacies like Levi’s, Vans and Fila, as well as high fashion men’s suit designer Paul Smith.

Quinn XCII New Song

Today, Quinn XCII released the title track from his forthcoming album. “A Letter to My Younger Self” features Grammy nominated rapper Logic in their first ever collaboration. Quinn XCII and Logic also come together in the official music video for the song, premiering today. The accompanying visual, filmed in Los Angeles, features some quirky animation and was directed by Brian Petchers.

Quinn XCII’s self-penned lyrics speak to the emotions and challenges we encounter when we’re younger, and aims to offer some relief and hope to those currently going through it. “This song embodies the idea of the entire album. It is what you want your younger self to hear if you could speak to them. High school is just a small chapter in the greater story of your life. Life is not as serious as it might feel in that moment,” shares the singer.

Logic comes in with a meaningful verse in which he raps about playing by his own timeline, not worrying about outside pressures, and his newborn son.

“A Letter to My Younger Self” follows the release of Quinn XCII’s recent song “Coffee” featuring Marc E. Bassy, which has accumulated over 5 million streams and video views worldwide in just 3 weeks. Both tracks are lifted from Quinn XCII’s upcoming third album, A Letter To My Younger Self, which will be released on July 10 via Columbia Records. The album will also include previously-released tracks “Two 10s” and “Stacy.”
