Noah Kahan New Single

NOAH KAHAN UNVEILS VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “MESS”

TOURING WITH JAMES BAY IN NORTH AMERICA THROUGH MARCH AND WITH DEAN LEWIS IN EUROPE AND THE U.K. IN APRIL

WATCH HERE

Today, Noah Kahan releases the video for his new single, “Mess.” Watch it HERE! Produced by Kahan’s frequent collaborator Joel Little (Lorde, Khalid), the song has already received praise from Billboard, NYLON, Idolator, EARMILK, Baeble, Ones To Watch and more.

Of the inspiration behind the video, Noah says, “I initially called ‘Mess’ ‘Feed the Dogs’ because my pups were a huge part of the inspiration for the tune. When I was in Vermont after high school, they were my only company during what was a lonesome time. With that in mind, I knew I had to make the music video be centered around dogs. Despite my dogs’ jealousy, we got 11 trained professional dogs (who were way more famous than me) for the shoot in LA and shot a video I really loved. Hope you guys like it too!”

“Mess” follows the global success of Kahan’s breakout singles, “Hurt Somebody” and “False Confidence.” With over 200 million global streams to date, “Hurt Somebody” is triple platinum in Australia and gold in Canada, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Switzerland and New Zealand; and it peaked at #1 on the Top 40 radio charts in Australia for three weeks, making it the third most played song on the Australian airwaves in all of 2018 where Noah has become one of the most buzzworthy new acts. “False Confidence” continues to grow with over 16 million streams to date and peaked in the top 5 at Triple A radio in the U.S.

Noah Kahan is currently on the road with James Bay this month on his North American tour. He will also be joining Dean Lewis on his headline tour in Europe and the U.K. in April. See the full list of upcoming dates below. Tickets are available here.

In two short years, music quite literally carried 22-year-old singer, songwriter and artist Noah Kahan around the world—a long way from his native Strafford, VT (pop. 1,045) and the 133-acre tree farm where he resides. On the trip, the alternative troubadour notched an international hit in the form of “Hurt Somebody” [feat. Julia Michaels], while his singles “Young Blood” and “False Confidence” also racked up millions of streams and he sold out headline tours in North America, Europe, and the UK and hit the road with artists like George Ezra and Leon Bridges. Not to mention, he has garnered critical acclaim from Billboard, Stereogum, Clash, Idolator, and more. In the midst of this whirlwind, he assembled his upcoming full-length debut album. The first single “Mess” illuminates his marked growth as a songwriter and storyteller by way of its biting lyrics and undeniable sing-a-long, underscoring a heartwarming and often hilarious portrait of hometown longing.

USDA MyPlate Campaign

USDA Announces Launch of the Start Simple with MyPlate Campaign

In a continuing effort to help Americans make healthy food choices, and in honor of National Nutrition Month, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue today announced a new campaign to help simplify the nutrition information that surrounds us each day.

USDA recommends people visit here to get started with tips on the MyPlate food groups, or to use a variety of simple resources to put these tips into action. Online resources include the MyPlate Plan and widget, a tip sheet, the MyPlate Action Guide, a one-week menu template, as well as a toolkit for nutrition professionals.

USDA also invites Americans to join the #MyPlateChallenge by sharing healthy eating tips or ideas related to the five MyPlate food groups. People can post a MyPlate-inspired healthy eating tip with a photo or video and share it on social media. Once they post their healthy eating tip, people can challenge a family member, friend, or co-worker to share their own tip.

Join USDA as we celebrate the different ways people strive to eat healthy and Start Simple with MyPlate! View more information about the challenge here.

About USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service

“Two Reasons Why I Won’t Report My Child Abuse”

Excerpt from The Teenage and Young Adult Survival Handbook By Steve Simpson

“The first reason is I know that I could be better in school. I know I mess up at home. The clothes I wear. The way I have my hair. The attitude I have. The trouble that I get in. I bring it on myself. If I were a better person these things probably wouldn’t happen to me. Ever since I can remember, I have been told by my parents that all the problems at home are my fault. People have it worse than I do.” These are the thoughts of many who are being abused and the first reasons why they won’t report it.

What I discovered was that even children who do fantastic in school, never get in any trouble, and do everything “right” still get abused by their parents or abusive adults in their home. Their parents even called them the same names as me and they were model children. I’ve found it has nothing to do with the way I act at all. It has nothing to do with who I was. It has nothing to do with the children. It has to do with the adults. Child abuse and discipline have nothing to do with each other. People who abuse children do it because of their own sickness, be it alcoholism, drug abuse or other problems they have.

“I knew my father or my mother’s boyfriend had no right to abuse me but I always felt that my mother would get in trouble for it.” This is the thought of many abuse victims and the second reason why they don’t report it. Even though they are getting abused they still try to protect the non-abusing/co-dependent parent. What I offer to those children is you would not so much be getting your parent in trouble, but you would be getting them help. Most authorities get them to go to therapy, which would stop that parent from allowing abuse to themselves and others in the future, therefore making their life better. So by protecting yourself you’re actually not getting anyone in trouble but protecting them and getting them help as well. Even the abusive adult could end up getting help as a result of you reporting it. Nobody should abuse you, period!

If you are being abused in any way, sometimes the abuse looks like it’s becoming less frequent. Don’t be fooled by this. It could suddenly pick up again and get worse. It will not stop unless you do something to stop it. Speak to a teacher, guidance counselor, school social worker or psychologist. Counselors from community centers and sometimes even people from local churches will know what to do and how to get you help. You can call Child Protective Services for your local area. Nobody should be abused in any way. You are no exception. You are worth getting help.

Approximately 5 children die a day as a result of child abuse. For those who suspect child abuse whether it be a relative or neighbor, it always amazes me how people will call 911 simply because someone parked in the wrong spot or put the garbage out on the wrong night, yet they won’t get “involved” in possibly saving a child’s life or at a minimum their childhood (not to mention the problems they will have as an adult as a result of their abuse). As responsible people we are already “involved”.

If you suspect child abuse it probably does exist. Don’t make excuses or protect and enable the abuser. Protect who you are supposed to protect, the children.

About Steve Simpson
Steve Simpson is a child advocate, child abuse survivor and media commentator who just released The Teenage and Young Adult Survival Handbook — a small guide that is modestly tucked inside in all four of his YA adventure novels which covers most of the topics plaguing young people today—suicide, bullying, sexual abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse, self-worth, being the child of an addict, living in a dysfunctional home, surviving school and more. Simpson was even recognized by President Barack Obama, former New York governor David Paterson and the County Executive of Nassau County for his efforts on behalf of abused children.

Michael Evans Behling

By Krishan Narsinghani

As of late, 360 Magazine sat down with actor, Michael Evans Behling, to discuss his story on becoming a series regular on the hit CW tv-show “All American.”

Behling was born in Columbus, OH but raised in Columbus, IN. Growing up, he played football, volleyball and ran track & field. Before pursuing college for track, Behling’s mother pushed him to try his hand at modeling. Flash forward one year, the biracial newcomer shot for notable brands like Nike, Finish Line and White Castle. Discovering a passion for comedic shorts via social media, Behling paved a career path that created an escape from negativity and depression. His personal life in a funk, acting molded that release and in return, made himself and others feel better. A bold move to LA quickly proceeded and transformed his life.

What do you think been your favorite part of shooting All American?

An outstanding cast. People-wise, we are a family that clicked from the beginning. There’s such a nice atmosphere including the production! Whether in the morning or night, I’m smiling going in.

Being relatively new to working the industry, what is one thing you would work on more?

To continue working even more and getting out on stage. Whether it means taking more classes and working as much I can to get even more comfortable doing my job.

One thing you’d work on less:

Before going into work. Whenever you get to set, you make something fun. The challenging part is when you get home at 3AM after a sixteen hour day and you have to prep for the next day. During the past 8 months, I didn’t sleep but it’s worth it. Being on stage, I’m still new and have a lot to learn. There are still moments where I felt like I could have done something better but it’s this feeling of “unsure” where I hesitate.

Describe your role and thoughts on your character Jordan:

Jordan is a cocky, confused, angsty high schooler who is the Beverly Hills High School quarterback. He’s dealing with some major identity issues, especially when Spencer comes to town and sees how his father and him connect – I think he’s got a really good heart and a lot of love for his sister and mom, but wants to connect with his Dad and fill his shoes. He’s slightly a jock with underlying actions and a lot of pain I have to hit while on set. Jordan’s a mixed kid who’s struggling to find himself but vicariously living through his dad. We’re both mixed so there’s a strong connection.

What advice to you have for minorities and kids of color breaking into the industry?

Right now we have an advantage – use this time now to get your training, get headshots and get whatever you need to get into the room. What’s the number one thing you could do before you get in? Ask yourself why you want to be in the industry. Do you know why you want to get into the industry for the right reasons? It’s because you want to make a change and love the craft. You love entertainment and make a positive change in somebody’s life.

One you get into the room, and you perform it’s out of your control. The door is going to open at some point. Stay positive and don’t get discouraged.
