Supergroup Spillage Village has today released brand new track and video “End of Daze” — a sombre yet poignant song that ends on a hopeful tone — which fans have been long awaiting for. The crew composed of J.I.D, EarthGang, 6lack, Mereba, Jurdan Bryant, Hollywood JB and Benji. recorded the song during (and largely as a solace for) the pandemic, and yet seems to still ring true during a civil rights uprising.

The track features the vocals from J.I.D, EarthGang, Mereba, Jordan Bryant and Hollywood JB and was co-produced by Christo (Revenge of the Dreamers III, J.I.D), Elite, Mike Dean (Beyonce, Nas, Kanye West, Travis Scott), Jay Card, Nice Rec and Olu (of EarthGang). They say it takes a village to raise a child and Spillage Village aims to borrow from this adage to inspire stories aimed at rebuilding and revolutionizing our communities for the future.

About Spillage Village:

Born out of block parties, college dorm rooms and late night house sessions, Spillage Village was founded by Atlanta duo EarthGang and rapper J.I.D and were then joined by producer Hollywood JB and artist Jurdan Bryant.

The quintet released their first collaborative project, Bears Like This (2014) to a warm reception gathering a groundswell of support from peers. Soon after, singer Mereba and rapper 6lack joined the group and released their second critically acclaimed effort, Bears Like This Too (2015) with press dubbing it “a definitive statement from one of Atlanta’s most musically vibrant posses”(VICE/Noisey).

Keeping its momentum, the following year Spillage Village made waves again with Bears Like This Too Much (2016). The EP would be a turning point for many of the artists in the group whose solo careers began to take off, 6lack’s debuted his Free 6lack project (Interscope, 2016) and EarthGang and J.I.D signed to Dreamville Records (Interscope).

Olu from EarthGang would say that the three “Bear” EPs acted like “checkpoints and markers in time” chronicling the rise of the musical mavericks. Almost four years later, sold out international tours, Grammy nominations and individual projects, Spillage Village is back to deliver soul serving music.

How to Keep Your Dating Life Alive During Lockdown

If you’re a single living through the COVID-19 quarantine, you’re likely well-acquainted with loneliness. But it doesn’t have to be that way. You can still meet your soul mate, or at least, someone fun to hang with, right from the comfort of your own home.

You can even go on dates! While the pandemic may have changed how you date, there’s no reason it should stop you from connecting with someone great.

In fact, dating is still alive and well online. With millions of singles hungry to connect, they are turning to online dating apps in droves, making this the ideal time to take the plunge.

Online dating: How to choose the right app

If you’ve never tried online dating, choosing which app to download can be overwhelming. With thousands of apps out there, it can be hard to know which one is for you.

Start out by deciding what you’re looking for. Are you seeking someone you can eventually have a relationship with or do you simply want some casual companionship? Do you have niche needs? Do you prefer to meet older singles? Are you willing to pay for a better experience? Are you open to dating someone from outside the country?

Once you know what your priorities are, it’s time for a little bit of research. Start by reading some well-researched guides. We’ve seen some great ones from Beyondages.com that help guys looking for all kinds of things from this article about what you need to do to meet a cougar to what guys who don’t really know what they want should do. This will give you a better idea of what is worth your time and money and what you should avoid.

Keeping a list of the pros and cons of each app can help you to compare and narrow down your choices. Whichever app best aligns with your needs is your best bet.

Once you’ve downloaded an app, uploaded some profile pictures and written up your profile, it’s time to start connecting.

While it’s possible you’ll meet someone great right away, it’s not likely. That’s why being patient is so important. It usually takes a while to meet someone you really click with but, once you do, all of that waiting will be worth it.

Now comes the challenging part. Dating from a distance. Let’s take a look at five of the best ways you can have amazing dates virtually.

Dinner and a movie

Who says the traditional first date outing can’t work during self-isolation? With a little bit of coordination, you can enjoy a great first date via FaceTime, Zoom or Skype.

Decide on a restaurant together, choose your meals and have them delivered to your homes. You can take it up a notch by getting dressed up and lighting some candles in your respective spaces for a more exciting and intimate meal together.

You can follow up your dinner conversation with a movie. Thanks to Netflix Party, you and your date can watch a movie at the same time and chat about it right from your browser.

If you’re enjoying your time together, meet back online for a cup of tea or glass of wine and more conversation.

Game night

If chatting is getting a bit old, why not challenge your date to a game night. While virtual game nights don’t take a lot of planning, it can be fun to coordinate your game night snacks and drinks.

Once that’s done, hit up an online platform like Tabletopia, that allows you to play classic board games with your date. If you want to make things more interesting, put some conditions on the game outcomes. Have the loser pay for the next dinner and movie night or, if you really want to make things interesting, make a pledge that the loser has to initiate your first kiss when you can actually meet in person.

A get to know you night

If there’s some on-screen chemistry happening between you and your date, you can increase the intimacy a bit by playing a different type of game. Word games like 20 Questions, or Would You Rather? can be a lot of fun and can help you to learn more about your online mate.

You can also give psychologist Arthur Aron’s quiz a try. The 36 questions are designed to increase intimacy between strangers and partners alike. The questions, which are broken into three segments, gradually become more personal, allowing you to open up to your date slowly.

If you haven’t had enough truth yet, challenge your online paramour to a game of Truth or Dare. While being apart may limit the dares you can give somewhat, it can still be a lot of fun and will force you to get creative.

While there’s a lot of skepticism around meeting a potential soulmate online, more and more people end up in happy, successful relationships with people they met on an app. Getting to know each other is a crucial part of creating a strong bond that can blossom into a great relationship.

Take a class together

Many businesses are getting creative by offering their services to people online during the pandemic. This is something you can take advantage of for a fun and unique date night.

Decide on what kind of class you’d both be interested in taking, be it a cooking class or a karate session. Tune in to the class on one device and have video chat running on another so you can feel like you’re learning together.

No matter what you decide on, plan to enjoy each other’s company after the class. With a cooking class, you can simply sit down and enjoy the meal you cooked together. With something more active, enjoy a refreshing beverage and a post-workout rehash of the new skills you learned.

Plan ahead

If things are progressing well with your online love, a fun date night can simply be planning all of the things you want to do with your date once you can actually meet in person.

Make a list of all the places you want to visit together and all the types of dates you’d like to go on. Talking about the types of dates and places that interest you will help you get to know each other better and will give you something to look forward to.

Bonus ideas

Some other great ideas for having fun together virtually are: a digital karaoke night, virtual travel via Google Arts and Culture, creating playlists together or for each other and listening to your favorite music, working out together or trying a virtual wine tasting.

Have you been on some virtual dates? What ideas have you tried to keep things interesting? Let us know your best self-isolating dating tips in the comments below.

NEEDTOBREATHE – “Survival”

GRAMMY® Award-nominated rock band NEEDTOBREATHE have released “Survival” (feat. Drew & Ellie Holcomb), the third track off of their forthcoming album, Out of Body. Watch an accompanying visualizer for the song HERE. Additionally, the band has announced the album will arrive on August 28, 2020 via Elektra Records/Centricity Music. Out of Body is available for pre-order and pre-save starting today HERE. Fans who pre-order the album will receive immediate downloads of “Survival”, as well as previously released tracks “Hang On” and “Seasons”.

“We met Drew & Ellie years ago backstage at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado. We fell in love with them… and to date they have toured with us more than any other band,” the band shared. “They have worked longer and harder than any other artist out there, and will be the first to admit that they nearly gave up a number of times. If there was ever a song to collaborate with them on, it’d be ‘Survival.’”

On Out of Body, the platinum-certified trio—Bear Rinehart [vocals, guitar], Seth Bolt [bass, vocals], and Josh Lovelace [keys, vocals]—examine life, family, and friends through a youthful prism. The guys take stock of not only two decades as a band, but also first-time fatherhood and the future over a rich soundtrack of soulful rock with stadium-size scope and poetic intimacy. After spending a week at a beach house in Charleston to gather thoughts and ideas, the trio headed to Nashville, to record alongside producers Cason Cooley and Jeremy Lutito. As they cultivated a team atmosphere, the songs organically came to life.

Out of Body was introduced in April with the release of the anthemic lead single “Hang On” and ballad “Seasons”. American Songwriter claimed, “‘Hang On’ could easily be the next summertime sing-along,” and E! News praised the track as “The sort of anthem we all need right about now.” “Hang On” has already soundtracked a national campaign for the PGA Tour’s Impact Initiative and been featured in the season finale of American Idol. Watch the track’s lyric video HERE.

Out of Body follows 2016’s H A R D L O V E, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Current Album Sales Chart, and featured the gold-certified title track “Hard Love”.

About NEEDTOBREATHE:

GRAMMY® Award-nominated NEEDTOBREATHE have mounted a steady ascent to the top of the charts and packed arenas everywhere. Formed in 1998, the group attracted a loyal grassroots following with their full-length debut Daylight [2006] and its follow-up The Heat [2007].

Two years later, The Outsiders became their first Top 20 entry on the Billboard Top 200 before eventually going gold. During 2011, The Reckoning landed at #1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart and #6 on the Top 200. In addition to bowing at #3 on the Top 200, 2014’s Rivers in the Wasteland yielded the platinum-selling Hot 100 hit “Brother” [feat. Gavin DeGraw] and “Multiplied,” which garnered their first GRAMMY® nod. Meanwhile, H A R D L O V E [2016] marked their highest chart bow yet, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top Current Album Sales Chart, as the title track “Hard Love” [feat. Andra Day] scored a gold plaque.

Along the way, they headlined and sold out iconic venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Greek Theatre, and Ryman Auditorium, to name a few. The group picked up a pair of nominations at the Billboard Music Awards, and received praise from People, Rolling Stone, Forbes, and more. Now, NEEDTOBREATHE reflect the freedom of youth on their seventh full-length offering, Out of Body [Elektra Records/Centricity Music] over a rich soundtrack of soulful rock with stadium-size scope and poetic intimacy.

Chronixx – Same Prayer

Chronixx provides a pillar of strength and hope on “Same Prayer,” a benediction that carries a universal message throughout life’s ups and downs. Fellow Jamaican lyricist Kabaka Pyramid complements the song with a verse echoing his sentiment. Following “Dela Move,” “Same Prayer” is the second reveal from Chronixx’s upcoming sophomore album Dela Splash, which is slated for release later this year. The Zion I Kings produced track is available today (June 11) via Soul Circle Music and will feature an accompanying visual next week.

The song rings true with today’s tumultuous times, “There’s so much good in the world and still evil a lurk. In the darkness a night, Jah protect I and I from the ones who nuh care about the fact that we share the same air and the blood that we bleed is alike,” Chronixx laments in the third verse. The powerful message follows in the chorus, “and when I troddin in the streets today, please Jah Jah never leave my side. And everyday the same prayer I say and I’m saying it one more time. Trodding in the streets I pray Jah Jah beg yuh please, never lef I an I, oh never leave I an I.”

Chronixx explains, “Same Prayer is, in part, a prayer for the younger generation to reflect on internally. It’s also a reminder that there is a greater power directing things in the physical space. Instead of looking for solutions in our material lives, we can both reach out to this higher power and look deep within ourselves.”

How to Forget an Ex-Girlfriend

Sometimes life divides us. This rarely happens by mutual agreement and for objective reasons. Usually, it goes well, nothing portends disasters, and then you find out that they cheat on you, you have stopped being loved, or it just got boring with you. It may seem that these problems can be solved, but you love her so much. Still, you break up, your ex has a new beautiful life, and you collect the remnants of male pride in the corners of all the bars. Attempts to drown melancholy in a glass of whiskey are almost always unsuccessful. Therefore, we propose to act in a completely different way.

  1. Realize what it is for
At the moment when a girl breaks up with you, there is emptiness, a wild burning sensation in the chest, which doesn’t let you live a normal life. You should fill this void. But how can you fill it out? You should realize why you need a girl who doesn’t love you. Try to find out why you need a relationship at all. Is there something important for you? There is one great tip: if a person wants to leave you, help open the door. There are a lot of girls in the world who will give you great love. Don’t forget about it. Life doesn’t end on one person, yes, it’s bad, yes, you miss, but it always passes.
  2. Try to be busy
After the relationship ends, most men have free time that they used to spend on a partner. This chance should be used for self-development and the achievement of new heights. Having set a goal and trying to achieve it, a person leaves no time for empty regrets and meaningless thoughts about what can’t be returned. Career advancement or an exciting hobby may work out here. You can look for a new environment, go on a short trip, take on a serious project at work, start scuba diving – any way will do! In addition, you can start looking for other single women for marriage. Fight fire with fire. This is the only right approach.
  3. Express your emotions
Most likely, you are angry and annoyed. Your head is torn from thoughts. If you are silent, you can never put an end to a relationship. Make an appointment, call, or write in the messenger everything you think about her and the current situation. If she offended or hurt you, don’t try to be nice in the hope of getting her back. Yes, it is not easy, but if you decide to take this step, then go to the end. You better give vent to emotions. It will be easier for you. Apologize only if there is a reason for it.
  4. Admit that it hurts you
Many guys choose a denial tactic. They are ready to scream to the world about how they don’t give a damn about this girl. And deep down, they realize that this is a lie. And most importantly, they lie to themselves. It will not let you deal with your feelings. You can run away from them, deny, and “live on.” But what will you come to? You will drag all your baggage from the past into a relationship with a new girl. You will make the same mistakes. So, think about it. You have to learn to live without her.
  5. Don’t look for ways to start it all over
You said your ex what you think, and now, if your goal is to really forget about the ex, then it’s time to break all ties with her. This doesn’t mean that you must block her on all social networks and delete her from friends as a teenager. Just stop watching her stories and posts, tormenting your head with potential comments that you won’t leave, looking for ways to stealthily see her, driving “by chance” past the girl’s house, and writing to her friends to find out something about her. If the temptation to follow an ex-girlfriend at least in social networks is too great, get out of them altogether. A small digital detox will not hurt anyone, especially in such a situation.

Knowledge is Power: The Secret to Stress-Free Travel

Travelling is great. Whether it’s a road trip within your own borders or a transatlantic adventure, the act of getting out and exploring is something we all enjoy doing. But, before you can relax and have a care-free experience, you need to protect yourself and anyone that’s with you. Basically, the aim of travelling is to see new places, have fun, and escape the stresses of daily life. However, you can only be stress-less by getting your affairs in order before you go travelling. In today’s tech-first world, the internet has the prevention and solution to almost any problem. With this in mind, we’ve outlined the travel essentials you need to know before you pack your bags.

Know Your Flight Rights

If you’re planning a trip abroad, one of the most stressful hurdles you need to overcome is the flight. Just getting to the airport, making it through security on time, and boarding the plane are stressful enough. However, when delays strike and you’re stuck not knowing whether you’re going to fly, things get even worse. Fortunately, you’ve got rights. The team at Flightright are experts in all things travel-related. Using their 10 years’ of experience, the team not only fight for your travel rights in court (with a 99% success rate), they’re on hand to arm you with knowledge. When it comes to delays and flight cancellation compensation, their advice is evidence.

Collect proof of expenses related to your trip, alternative ticket costs and, of course, flight details. As long as you’re able to provide evidence on demand, you’re entitled to compensation of up to €600/$660 per person for delayed and cancelled flights. As you’d expect, getting something back from an airline isn’t easy. However, there are laws in place to protect you. So, by simply knowing that you’re entitled to compensation, without affecting your right to fly, you can sit and wait without any stress.

Be Sure to Insure

Although you don’t need travel insurance to claim compensation for delayed/cancelled flights, you will need it if anything else goes wrong. Medical coverage is the obvious expense you’ll need travel insurance for. However, the best policies will cover a variety of potential problems. MoneySuperMarket is just one comparison site that allows you to scan through dozens of insurance options. Perhaps the most important thing you need to consider when you’re purchasing insurance is what could go wrong. Standard policies will cover medical expense, personal liability, emergency assistance, and lost baggage.

However, what the average scheme won’t cover are things like extreme sports, pre-existing medical conditions, and natural disasters. Obviously, if you’re going skiing, this means you’ll need to take out extra cover. Additionally, if you’re going to a place that’s known for its tropical weather, such as Thailand during the stormy season (April to October), you might want to bolt on extra cover. Again, it all comes down to knowledge.

If you’re armed with the right information, you can react accordingly in all situations. What’s more, you can protect yourself from things before they go wrong. Even if you can’t stop every eventuality, you can at least be ready for them. That’s the best way to have a stress-free experience and get maximum enjoyment from your travels.
