TheHxliday- “Thank U”

Up-and-coming rapper, singer and songwriter, TheHxliday, has shared his latest single, a painfully honest and powerful track called “Thank U.” Showcasing his moody hybrid of dark pop, hip-hop, and alt-R&B, “Thank U” is the Baltimore native’s first new music since signing to Motown Records earlier this year and is the lead single off his forthcoming BatBoy EP coming in 2021. You can download and stream “Thank U” HERE.

“Kids these days feel the urge to take drugs to help cope with their emotions,”  said TheHxliday. “With ‘Thank U’ it’s a message saying ‘You can take drugs. You can take anything you want but it’s only going to make things worse.’ You don’t need that to heal they’re better things to do.”

Propelled by potent trap beats and dreamy guitar tones, “Thank U” is a vulnerable yet urgent meditation on turning to drugs as a coping mechanism for problems like depression. With his vocals shifting from soulful to raw, TheHxliday created the song in order to shed light on the mental health issues at the root of drug abuse for so many of his peers.

At just 18-years-old, TheHxliday has already made waves with hits like “Save Me,” an independently released track whose Cole Bennett-directed video has amassed over 5 million views to date. Soon after signing to Motown Records, he re-released his breakout EP Broken Halls with the addition of new tracks  “Late Night Feelings” and “Make A Move.” Check out Broken Halls here.

TheHxliday is at the forefront of a new wave of rock stars inspired by rappers, pop idols, and rock bands of the past. With his work already championed by major outlets like Complex and Lyrical Lemonade, he’s also featured on  Familiar and Let You Down from Internet Money’s 2020 debut album B4 the Storm.

An ace at only 18-years-old, TheHxliday mixes his melodic flow and thumping trap beats to forge his sad boy sound. The rapper, singer and songwriter is a Baltimore native who creates hits straight out of his bedroom, expressing his singular and centric ideas to separate himself from the norm.

Inspired by the likes of Trippie Redd, XXXTentacion, Justin Bieber, Linkin Park, and My Chemical Romance, TheHxliday is paving his own path with the dynamic palette of dark pop, R&B, and hip-hop showcased on his EP Broken Halls. His biggest hit to date “Save Me”  is a banger, and just one of over 1,000 songs created so far. According to TheHxliday,  Save Me is a  firecracker compared to the bombs forthcoming.

Spin mop article illustration by Kaelen Felix for 360 magazine

Can A Spin Do A Much Better Job At Keeping Floors Sparkly Clean Than Your Good Old Mop?

Like most people, you’re probably not a big fan of mopping the floor. It is monotonous, boring, and eats up a lot of your time. However, it’s one of those vital household chores you cannot evade.

Although sweepers and vacuuming can handle dust, pet hairs, and sometimes stains, you still need to mop your floors to make it sparkly clean. Mopping will take care of nasty streaks of dirt on your floors, as well as get rid of filth embedded on grouts and lodged on corners.

The traditional mop has come a long way; it has been updated and modernized to make your home cleaning life a little easier. One of its latest upgrades is the spin mop, which has been a favorite among homeowners. Thanks to its microfiber advantages and other improvements, this type of mop makes the chore faster, simpler, more effective, and even enjoyable.

What Exactly Is A Spin Mop?

Spin mops are very popular because they are so convenient. They work similarly to a regular mop, but its little spin solves the problems you usually encounter with a traditional mop.

The concept behind the cleaner is pretty simple. Just place its head into its spinning device, which also enables you to wring out the water accumulated. Depending on the model, you can do this by pressing the mop itself on the bucket that comes with it or by pressing the bucket’s pedal several times. Your mop will not only come out dry but clean as well. Likewise, you can use it right away again.

Rinsing off a regular mop is quite hard. Also, you have to wait until it dries out a bit before you can put it to use. On top of that, you have to manually wring it with your hands, which is not the case with a spin mop. These devices rely on their centrifugal and spinning motions to do the wringing for you.

Check out these commonly asked questions to learn more about spin mops.

Why Should I Make The Switch?

Scrubbing your floor with a soapy sponge on your knees can trigger back and knee pain. Mopping with a regular mop is no walk in the park either. Hence, a spin mop is your best choice in terms of floor cleaners.

With that in mind, here are the benefits of spin mops and the reasons why you may want to make the switch:

  • Efficient Cleaning

Spin mops can clean surfaces thoroughly. It will not leave behind any residues or specks of dirt on your floors. Typically, they come with a microfiber cleaning pad that can dislodge even the toughest of stains with ease. Likewise, you can easily remove dirt deposits on joint sections and corners with your mop cleaner.

  • Hands-Free Rinsing

You don’t need to use your hands when rinsing it’s wet mop head. This means that you will be able to avoid dirty liquid or chemicals and bacteria while cleaning. Plus, your hands will always remain clean and dry throughout the process.

  • Abrasion-Resistant Microfiber Cleaning Pad

The spin mop has a soft microfiber cloth pad, which is very gentle on all types of surfaces. Therefore, it will not leave your beautiful floors with abrasions and scratches.

  • Less Physical Effort

The spin mop features an advanced mechanism that will not require a lot of strength and effort for rinsing it’s mop head. All you have to do is push the handle of your mop gently into its wringer or step on its foot pedal.

Furthermore, its convenient design combines a long handle and a head that bends, eliminating the need for you to bend over just to tackle hard to reach spots. So that can help prevent backaches as well.

  • Needs Minimal Water

In general, you need to dunk mops in clear water several times to eliminate dirt and particles from their mop head. But spinning your spin mop in its bucket will separate the particles from the mop head and leave them on the bottom. Therefore, you don’t need to change the water as much as you would on a traditional mop.

  • Easy Maintenance

Cleaning this type of mop is hassle-free. It will not require any extra washing or upkeep. Generally, you only need to wash your spin mop under clean tap water and then leave both its mop head and bucket to air dry. That’s it.

But of course, spin mops do come with a few disadvantages. Just like with a normal mop, it will still rely on the bucket. That means you have to carry it around, which can sometimes become messy if you accidentally spill the water. Nevertheless, you can find models out there with wheels, making it easier to move the bucket throughout your home.

Additionally, you must replace the mop head from time to time since it will get filthy over time. And with so many available options out there, from brands to models, choosing the right one can get overwhelming pretty fast. However, finding the best spin mops suitable for your needs and budget is important. So here they are, to help narrow down your choices and make shopping around a little easier.

Is Gambling Responsibly Simply a Myth?

Recreational gambling can be a fun and entertaining activity for many people, but it can sometimes tip the scales into problematic behavior for others. The adrenaline rush of a big bet and the thrill of winning a jackpot keep many coming back for more, even when they shouldn’t.

We’ve all seen advertisements for “responsible gambling” on television in our daily lives but what does that actually mean? And more importantly, is this even possible?

What is Responsible Gambling?

Responsible gambling is defined as: “Exercising control and informed choice to ensure that gambling is kept within affordable limits of money and time, is enjoyable, in balance with other activities and responsibilities, and avoids gambling-related harm.”

This ubiquitous phrase is used to remind players of the importance of maintaining a clear head when playing the odds. Essentially it references the age old saying “It is just a game,” urging players to stay in touch with reality. This idea, however, has been criticized for being a myth that is impossible to achieve, especially for players that struggle with addiction or lack of self-control.

Top 6 Ways to Gamble Responsibly

Responsible gamblers know the risks involved with gambling and think of it as a cost of the entertainment, just like going out to dinner, the movies, or going on a vacation. Setting out on any excursion with a fixed budget makes smart fiscal sense in every aspect of life — and gambling is no different.

Just as you would not invite your friends out to a 5-star restaurant that you knew you could not afford, gambling without mental and financial safety precautions is a recipe for disaster. In order to gamble responsibly, take charge by following some simple tips before you set out.

1. Learn the Rules and Odds of the Games that You Play

Hobbyists know their favorite pastimes better than anyone else in the world. Knowledge of your leisure pursuits is a great way to not let them get the best of you, especially when it comes to real-money gambling.

When choosing a game to play, make sure you’re well-versed in the rules, the casino’s guidelines, and best practices involved in a given game. And whether it’s roulette or blackjack, bear in mind the odds to make an informed decision and your best bet. Being prepared is always the best bet.

2. Don’t Play with Money You Don’t Have

You wouldn’t spend your rent money on a designer handbag or an unreasonable car lease. Likewise, you should never use money to gamble that you need for your living expenses. Remembering priorities is essential.

Responsible gamblers never play with money that they aren’t willing to lose. As an entertainment expense, any losses simply add up to a fun evening out with friends, not serious financial problems the next day.

3. Set a Time Limit

If you’re worried that you might get carried away, a good rule of thumb is to set a time limit for how long you’re able to gamble before it’s time to call it quits. When you’re having a fun evening, it can be easy to lose track of time. By setting an alarm and having a hard end to your playing is a smart idea before you get started.

4. Set a Money Limit

Setting a dollar limit for yourself before you start playing is one of the smartest things you can do to gamble responsibly.

Some online casinos have a loss limit feature that allows you to program in a maximum amount that you’re willing to lose in a given time before the system prevents you from placing another bet. The loss limit feature works very well for some people but for many, it doesn’t work at all. For many, they hit the limit and simply join another casino. If this is you, consider alternate means of self-control and consider asking for assistance.

5. Don’t Gamble Under the Influence

With a great game plan for responsible gambling and a fun time ahead, it would be a shame to throw away all of your best intentions by getting inebriated and failing to follow your own guidelines.

Gambling responsibly can be an exciting and entertaining activity but without a clear head, some players may unintentionally go a bit overboard. Gambling culture, especially in-person, often encourages players to drink while they play. A glass of wine or a single beer while playing might not be disastrous, but it is important to comprehend your limits.

6. Never Play Because You Need to Win

Problem gamblers sometimes fall into the trap of using gambling to make money they need for their day-to-day lives. It is always a bad idea and can lead to serious problems, especially with something as random as chance itself. Make sure even as you play, you are grounded in reality.

Play Smart

These suggestions are not foolproof, however, and can be quickly thrown out the window when a player is in trouble with their gambling, whether through a serious addiction or fear of financial ruin. It is important to consider your circumstances, your headspace, and your ability to stick to a plan before even going near a casino.

Responsible Gambling Can Be Possible

Knowing yourself is key. If you know that you’re not able to follow your own prescribed rules, gambling responsibly may not be possible for you to do successfully. Maintaining a healthy relationship with your hobbies and leisure activities is essential.

As you can see, however, it is possible to gamble responsibly if you’re able to stick to a plan. By maintaining these standards, responsible gambling can be just like any other form of paid entertainment. If one approaches it with a clear head and knows their limits, a good time can be had by all.

CBD edibles and nutrition article illustration for 360 MAGAZINE

How Many CBD Edibles a Day Should You Eat?

‘How many CBD edibles a day should you eat?’ is a commonly asked question by new CBD users. The answer is complicated, but the most important thing is to be an informed consumer. Everyone is different. A person who weights 400 pounds is going to need more CBD than someone who is 95 pounds. So, before we answer the question, it’s important to understand CBD edible strength and CBD edible dosage.

CBD Edible Dosage

Eating CBD is wasteful compared to other delivery methods. Sending CBD to the digestive tract can take hours to break the CBD down. However, there are a few methods that are technically considered to be edibles but are much more efficient than eating a CBD cookie.

CBD candy is a great way to get around the digestive tract. Hard candy and gummies both are broken down much easier than other edible options. When gummies are chewed, much of the CBD oil inside is absorbed before even reaching the stomach and the small pieces that reach the digestive tract are easily broken down.

CBD Edible Strength

Finding the right dose for you is important when planning a CBD regiment. Starting small and consulting with your personal physician are always good ideas if you are unfamiliar with CBD. While CBD has proven to be tolerated well by humans, even at extremely high amounts, people have reported mild side-effects. Taking CBD is the only way to find your dose.

A normal dose of CBD is somewhere between 10 and 100mg. Most people would likely fall between 20 and 60mg. One must consider the delivery method when thinking about their dose. 50mg gummies will have a lower bioavailability than 50mg of CBD vape.

How many CBD edibles a day you should eat depends on your dose. Another thing to consider is what you want out of CBD. If you are looking to relieve stress all day, perhaps taking a gummy in the morning and after lunch is your best bet. If you are looking for better sleep, maybe taking one gummy at night makes more sense for you.

Taking 50mg gummies once or twice a day is a common regiment that has proved to be beneficial for many happy CBD users. Gummies are a great way to deliver CBD and 50mg is enough to give the CBD a chance to work its magic.

Reasons to take CBD Edible Gummies

  1. Easy to take

Taking CBD every day is crucial for those who want to experience the benefits. Only taking CBD every once in a while, isn’t going to build up your endocannabinoid system enough to start to see results.

Many users find that taking a gummy is much easier to remember than taking oil. We are accustomed to taking multivitamins in gummy form. It’s easy to remember to take your CBD gummies each day when they are in a spot you will see. If you are already taking other vitamins, adding the CBD gummies is a seamless way to incorporate cannabis into your life.

  1. Taste

CBD oil has a strong earthy taste that is off putting to many new users. If you don’t like the taste you aren’t going to consistently take the product. Sublingual oil may be more efficient than taking an edible, but not if you aren’t actually taking it.

  1. Bioavailability

Gummies are great because they have a high bioavailability compared to other edibles. A study done on the bioavailability of Vitamin C gummies versus capsules found that gummies are superior. The gummy is chewed and starts to dissolve in the mouth.

  1. No One Likes Pills

CBD pills aren’t fun to take. Especially if you are taking a huge tablet. Gummies are much easier. If you aren’t enjoying the CBD delivery method, you are less likely to be a consistent user.

Finding exactly how many CBD edibles to take each day is a process. The only way to find out is to start taking CBD. Gummies are a great way to get into a habit of taking CBD and feeling the benefits.

.Paak released his highly regarded single “Lockdown” earlier this year on Juneteenth via Aftermath Entertainment, exclusively distributed by 12Tone Music, LLC. Inspiration for the song came from .Paak’s participation in a Los Angeles Black Lives Matter protest where peaceful protestors were being shot with rubber bullets by the police. A video directed by Dave Meyers featuring Andra Day, Jay Rock, Syd, SiR, Dumbfoundead & Dominic Fike followed in addition to a bundle including the remix with JID, Noname, and Jay Rock. The cast & crew who participated in the “Lockdown” video donated their salaries to Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective (BEAM), Dream Defenders, and Color of Change.

Reacting to his multiple nominations, .Paak shares “THE PEOPLE ARE RISING!!!!! Special shout out to everyone involved!!! J.LBS, Rae Khalil, Vicky Nguyen, Jeff Gitty, Jhair Lazo, Dave Myers, Syd, SiR, Dumbfoundead, Dominic Fike, Jay Rock, Andra Day, my Full Stop Management, Aftermath Entertainment, 12Tone Music, and .Paak House teams! This song was our offering to the movement and I wouldn’t have been able to write it without the inspiration of the people that are out there fighting every day for equality and justice. I’m honored to be nominated. Thank you to the Recording Academy and everyone who voted. Special shout out to all the nominees!”

.Paak was also featured on this year’s Grammy Award nominated albums from Nas (Kings Disease) and Free Nationals (Free Nationals). He was a co-producer on John Legend’s “One Life” from his album, Bigger Love.

Born Brandon Paak Anderson in Oxnard, California, the three-time Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter, and producer played drums as a teen in his church band and later famously worked at a marijuana farm, all while honing his musical chops pursuing his dreams. His extraordinary talent was evident in his first incarnation as Breezy Lovejoy and it was fully realized in his transformation into Anderson .Paak.
