KYLEYOUMADETHAT — “POOF BE GONE”

Turning up with even more heat, rising Toronto artist and producer KyleYouMadeThat unveils his new track “Poof Be Gone” feat. Yung Baby Tate, Yvette and Cheerlebridee via The Heavy Group/Republic Records. Listen to “Poof Be Gone” HERE.

Bass thumps as the sample militantly bumps, “Poof be gone.  Through the rattle of heavy drums, Yung Baby Tate tears into KyleYouMadeThat’s production with raucous and raunchy bars, while Yvette drips confidence. He initially teased the sound on TikTok, and it has already spawned over 676K user-generated videos, including videos from Lizzo, Tia Mowry, JoJo Siwa, Charli D’Amelio and more, creating a massive dance trend on the platform.

It’s the bounciest and boldest banger of the summer.

Recently, KyleYouMadeThat dropped the Justis Bratt-assisted “Haha” and received looks from RESPECT Magazine, SOOH and more, in addition to putting up numbers.

Just prior, KyleYouMadeThatlinked with Shaylen and Bryce Vine for “Do Si Do,” which attracted widespread acclaim. Billboard cited it among “Spotify Editors’ Picks for New Music Friday,” and Entertainment Tonight even touted it on its weekly roundup. He also joined forces with multiplatinum rapper YBN Nahmir, Joseph Black and YB Redencion for the intimate and introspective single “Make You Happy.”

He popped off alongside Coi Leray and Kaash Paige on “All About Cake.”Inciting excitement among tastemakers, DefPen noted, “KyleYouMadeThat is making a major name for himself in the world of R&B and hip-hop, and HipHopDX praised how “KyleYouMadeThat switches up tempos in his new single ‘All About Cake’.It has already spawned north of 10 million TikTok dance videos with creations by everyone from Lizzo to Charli D’Amelio.

Meanwhile, his debut single“HOOPLA”—the collaboration between KyleYouMadeThat and NLE Choppa—has racked up nearly 2 million streams to date and earned critical acclaim. HotNewHipHop enthusiastically described it as “a bouncy banger.“HOOPLA” initially exploded on TikTok when KyleYouMadeThat shared nothing more than the beat on his page. Dance influencer Karaleigh Cannella shared a viral dance soundtracked by the production, and Seventeen praised it among “The Hottest TikTok Dances You Can’t Stop Doing.

KyleYouMadeThat already moved the internet, and now he’s set to move the culture. Soundtracking 16 million-plus videos on TikTok and generating views in the billions by 2021, the Toronto-born artist, producer and creative cooks up genre-defiant anthems and curates viral moods. After years producing for the likes of Trey Songz, Ryan Leslie, and Tinashe, he found himself stuck at home at the onset of the global pandemic. He leveled up all-around, becoming more proficient at graphic design, photo editing and video editing. He also studied TikTok and pledged to “get a viral hit. He didn’t just go viral; he practically broke the platform. “Crystal Dolphin” incited videos by dozens of influencers such as Charli D’Amelio [102 million followers], Addison Rae [71 million followers], SpencerX [50 million followers] and Loren Gray [50 million followers], as well as superstar Jason Derulo. Not to mention, the success translated to other platforms with 56 million streams on Spotify. Meanwhile, “All About Cake” inspired videos by everyone Kimberlyloazia [31.8 million followers] and Tony Lopez [23 million] to three posts from Lizzo. It would be his off-kilter sonic sensibility that shined through the loudest though, defining a whole wave in the process under the radar. Now, he asserts himself as both a trend architect and precise hitmaker on a series of 2021 singles for The Heavy Group/Republic Records.

NauticEd Reports Bookings + Enrollments Soaring from Joel Staley for use by 360 Magazine

NAUTICED REPORTS BOOKINGS + ENROLLMENTS SOARING

As consumer travel surges ahead on a tide of pent-up demand, NauticEd—the leader in global sailing education and a global yacht charter agency—has reported an increase in vacation yacht bookings almost 10 times greater than 2020 and 38% greater than pre-COVID years. It is also seeing a 30% increase in online course enrollments over 2020 figures.

“During the pandemic, most travelers cautiously sheltered in place to avoid COVID-19,” said Grant Headifen, NauticEd founder and global director of education.  “As travelers re-emerge, many new customers are telling us that being stuck at home inspired them to try something they’ve fantasized for years: escaping on a luxury sailboat with their family and learning how to sail. In fact, 43% of our new students surveyed said their desire was to skipper a yacht on a sailing vacation or adventure.”

NauticEd’s dramatic 38% increase in its vacation yacht bookings over pre-COVID years mirrors the overall increase in U.S. travel bookings of the past two months. Consumers, emboldened by recent CDC data that shows nearly 50% of the U.S. population has received one vaccination shot or more, are primed for adventure.

According to a survey conducted by Destination Analysts, as of Memorial Day the number of Americans concerned about contracting the coronavirus, the pandemic’s impact on personal finances, as well as the national economy hit historic lows. The percentage of those sharing the perception of travel and leisure activities as unsafe was cut in half compared to the beginning of the year. It prompted U.S. consumers to dream about travel again, and, based on NauticEd’s spike in inquiries and resulting business, it appears many dreamed about sailing.

“As a travel and outdoor recreational activity, sailing is on fire right now and the demand is the strongest we’ve seen in a decade,” said Headifen. “We are thrilled to report a fresh surge of novice sailors and newcomers are embracing the lifestyle, while the sailing faithful are enthusiastically returning to inquire about yacht charters again.”

An international leader in sailing education, NauticEd has provided over 250,000 courses, including a mix of both virtual and live instruction, since its founding in 2008. Besides the uptick in vacation yacht bookings, NauticEd’s 30% increase in online educational course enrollments not only demonstrates a growing demand for boating and sailing education, but a new trend in how people choose to learn.

“Our strategic mix of comprehensive e-learning platforms with on-the-water instruction help students take their sailing to the next level in the most efficient and effective manner possible,” said Headifen. “We have beginners wanting to become a competent crew member, intermediate sailors looking to sharpen their skills and advanced sailors wanting to circumnavigate the globe. Our online curriculum allows them to get underway immediately in their own personalized learning process before syncing with a NauticEd accredited sailing school.”

NauticEd is the first sailing educator to receive official American National Standards recognition. Its e-learning approach allows students to gain knowledge and learn sailing theory online via multimedia instructional modules that are totally customized to meet their needs, all within the comfort of their home and from their preferred device. When NauticEd students show up at an accredited school for their on-the-water training, they already have learned the language and theory of sailing. It enables them to maximize one-on-one time with a qualified instructor while exclusively focusing on practical skills. The result for students is greater sailing competency.

A key benefit of NauticEd’s business model is its two-prong approach to the sailing experience, allowing its customers to learn, travel, charter and take vacations. Not only does it offer global yacht charter services and more than 24 comprehensive online courses, but its integrated course documentation and sailing resume provides charter companies with exactly what they need to validate a student’s actual skill level and experience.

“In my experience, boat charter companies want to see more than just a sailing school certificate,” said Headifen. “They want to rent to sailors who have demonstrable experience with similar size boats, who know how to navigate, operate and safely return their vessels back to the harbor.”

Inspired by this knowledge and insight, Headifen founded NauticEd 13 years ago with the mission to create safer, more competent sailors. He collaborated with scores of leading sailing educators, e-learning technologists, forward-thinking sailing schools and a select group of top international instructors to build NauticEd’s comprehensive curriculum.

As part of its global outreach program, NauticEd offers two free online instructional courses. For information, click HERE or HERE.

About NauticEd:

NauticEd features over 24 online sailing courses, certification for sailors at all levels, feature-rich proprietary learning management systems and a global network of sailing school and charter affiliates. Since Grant Headifen founded NauticEd in 2008, it has provided over a quarter million sailing courses to students worldwide and currently supports over 80,000 boating enthusiasts with courses, experience building tools and charter vacations. NauticEd is the only sailing education program recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators as having met the rigorous American National Standards, and NauticEd’s SLC licensing is accepted by charter companies worldwide. We’re smashing that ceiling with this festival,” said Long. “I am immensely proud to be leading this effort with such an incredible team. With my company A THREAT co-producing this competition with GKUA, trust that dancing is the star. We’re doing this one for all of the dancers out there who have been waiting for an opportunity like this. Since then, he has collaborated with artists including JR, Damian Woetzel, the New York City Ballet, Madonna, Benjamin Millepied and Spike Lee; along with brands including Glenfiddich, Louis Vuitton and Versace.

“I’m very excited to judge the UPROAR DANCE COMPETITION and to see the fresh new talent out there,” said Lil Buck. “This will be an awesome experience for dancers at a monumental event to showcase what they love to do—with the chance to win $5K in prize money while they’re having fun! JON BOOGZ is a movement artist, choreographer and director who pushes the evolution of dance—sharing his art form with audiences of all backgrounds while inspiring and bringing awareness to social issues. Collaborators and clients include Mikhail Baryshnikov, Naomi Campbell and the Tribeca Film Festival.

“I’m super pumped to be a judge at this year’s UPROAR DANCE COMPETITION. It’s a blessing that Lil Wayne and his team are giving dancers an opportunity to shine and have their talents be displayed on a big platform,” said Boogz. “I think the viewers of this dance battle are in store for something beautiful. With $5K on the line, the dancers are going all out.”

“Since the inception of the GKUA brand, Lil Wayne and our whole GKUA team have been preparing to launch GKUA Inspired competitions. This event at The Torch will bring the attention of the world to the inspired artists who will participate,” said GKUA President Beau Golob. “The UPROAR DANCE COMPETITION is just one facet of the immersive experience we are bringing to our live and streaming audiences. YOEL RAZVOZOV NAMED ISRAEL’S MINISTER OF TOURISM

The Israel Ministry of Tourism is pleased to share the news of the appointment of its new Minister, Yoel Razvozov, Israeli politician and former judoka Olympian. As Minister of Tourism, Razvozov will work closely with the new government to create and execute a plan to bring both domestic and international tourism back in Israel following more than a year of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re encouraged with the appointment of Yoel Razvozov and are looking forward to working with him to bring North American tourists back to Israel,” said Eyal Carlin, Israel Ministry of Tourism Commissioner for North America. “With new flight routes from the U.S. to Israel launched—even during the pandemic—our initial reopening pilot program having great success and now the new Minister and the new government’s announcement of the expanded reopening to international travelers beginning on July 1, I feel very encouraged and believe that tourism to Israel will be back to pre-pandemic highs before long.”

Razvozov, who first entered the Knesset in 2013, has served as Chairperson of the Sports Lobby of the Knesset and Chairperson of the Generation and a Half Lobby since 2015. In the 19th Knesset (2013-2015), Razvozov was appointed Chairperson of the Committee for Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs.

“My first task as Minister of Tourism is to build a correct and effective outline for the easing of conditions for tourists to enter Israel—of course, without endangering the citizens of Israel and in cooperation with the professional bodies in the Ministry of Health,” said Razvozov.

Prior to entering politics, Razvozov served as Chairman and Director of the Israel Olympic Committee (2008-2013) and held the sports portfolio in the Netanya City Council. Razvozov is a former judoka Olympian, and at the age of 16, was named an Israeli champion, holding the title for 10 consecutive years. He served as captain of Israel’s national Judo team, winning two silver medals in the European championship and representing Israel in the 2004 Athens Olympics.

About the Israel Ministry of Tourism:

The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT), is Israel’s national tourism agency responsible for planning and implementing marketing and promotional initiatives to position Israel as a preferred travel destination. IMOT aims to increase tourism traffic to contribute to Israel’s economy, and to enhance and diversify the visiting experience. UNVACCINATED AMERICANS AT RISK OF NEW VARIANT

By: Clara Guthrie

In December of 2020, the beginning of the end of the pandemic was set into motion as the first COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States to frontline workers. Sandra Lindsay, an ICU nurse from the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, was the very first individual to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. The momentous occasion was filmed and live streamed on New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Twitter feed. At the time, Lindsay proudly stated, “I want to instill public confidence that the vaccine is safe. We’re in a pandemic and so we all need to do our part.”

Yet, in the six months following Lindsay’s statement of comfort and inspiration, it can be argued that the totality of the American people has not, in fact, done their part. According to data collected by the CDC, 45.1% of the total US population have been fully vaccinated, a number that only increases across age demographics: 77.2% of the population that is 65 years and older have been vaccinated. Additionally, 53.3% of the total population have received at least one dose of the vaccine. However, the rate of vaccination wildly varies when broken down state by state. According to CNN, states like Vermont and Connecticut have vaccination rates that exceed 80%. Meanwhile, other states—a majority of which are in the South—have vaccination rates below 35%.

According to Becker’s Hospital Review, Mississippi currently has the lowest vaccination rate in the country with only 28.86% of their population being fully vaccinated. The CDC reports that fewer than one million residents have received both doses of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines or one dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, making them fully vaccinated. For reference, their total population is approximately three million people, based on data from the United States Census Bureau in 2019. Following Mississippi for the lowest vaccination rates are Alabama and Arkansas, with 31.86% and 33.3% of their respective populations being fully vaccinated. (As an interesting side note, these three states were also among the first to lift their mask mandates; Mississippi on March 2, Alabama on April 9 and Arkansas on March 30.)

These stark discrepancies in vaccination rates pose legitimate and pressing problems for states and counties that are struggling to vaccinate their citizens. Most concerning in these areas is the increased spread of more contagious strains of COVID-19, specifically the Delta variant. As the World Health Organization explains, the more a virus spreads, “the more opportunities it has to undergo changes.” These changes can directly alter both spreadability and severity of the virus. Earlier this year, the UK variant (or the Alpha variant) gained international attention because it was more transmissible than earlier COVID-19 strains. The Delta variant—which experts are now predicting will become the dominant strain in the United States—is even easier to spread between individuals. Moreover, the Delta variant is more unpredictable in how it affects individuals, in comparison to other strains. Steve Edwards, the CEO of CoxHealth, spoke on the variant and said, “We can’t tell why one patient is doing poorly and one is doing well. There’s just something different about how this variant is affecting the immune system of our patients.”

Due to this new Delta strain, doctors are doubling down on their insistence that citizens must get vaccinated to protect themselves and others. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, said, “After two doses—reminding you, get your second dose—after two doses, you are protected from that Delta variant.” Dr. Paul Offit, a pediatrician who specializes in infectious diseases and vaccines, added, “Unless we vaccinate a significant percentage of the population before winter hits, you’re going to see more spread and the creation of more variants, which will only make this task [of ending the pandemic] more difficult.” These claims are backed by a recent study conducted by Public Health England that found that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is 96% effective against hospitalization caused by the Delta variant after two doses.

Therefore, in states like Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas, there have been significant upsurges in cases of this new Delta variant, according to the aforementioned CNN article. Like what the country experienced when COVID-19 cases swelled during the winter months of late 2020 and early 2021, hospitals are again filling up in these lesser vaccinated states. According to the CDC, as of June 17, 2021, Mississippi was averaging 119 new cases of COVID-19 every seven days. Similarly, Alabama was averaging 190 new cases, and Arkansas was averaging 247 new cases every seven days. Meanwhile, Vermont was averaging only six new cases each week. It is important to note that, although slow and incomplete, some progress has been made in these southern states; Mississippi’s average weekly cases peaked in early January at around 2,324 new cases. But this progress is far from over and not yet something to celebrate.

Doctors and legislators now need to turn their attention towards pushing the vaccine into communities that are currently resistant to its presence or that are being faced with systemic barriers blocking them from receiving it. Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the FDA, said, “Now we need to think about trying to push out the vaccine into community sites where people could get it delivered to them through a trusted intermediary, that’s going to mean doctors’ offices, schools, places of employment.”

This continued effort to vaccinate American citizens becomes increasingly important when one considers that the pandemic is disproportionately affecting racial and ethnic minorities. America has continually fallen short of health equity, the concept that all citizens have equal opportunity for fair treatment and being healthy, and it has been brought to the forefront during the pandemic. Factors including discrimination, access to healthcare, employment as essential workers and housing conditions all pose challenges to achieving health equity. Thus, American Indian citizens and Alaska Natives represented 1,216.1 COVID-related hospitalizations per 100,000 people in America from March 1, 2020 to June 5, 2021. Black citizens represented 997.8 COVID-related hospitalizations, and Hispanic and Latinx citizens represented 993.5 hospitalizations. White Americans represented only 354.7 COVID-related hospitalizations across that same timespan.

Moreover, vaccination rates sorted by race also point towards immense health inequity. Only 1.0% of the American Indian and Alaska Native population, 9.1% of the Black population, and 15.1% of the Hispanic and Latinx population have received at least one dose of the vaccine. In stark contrast, 60.2% of the white population have received their first dose.

To stop the spread of the Delta variant, reduce the further mutation of the COVID-19 virus and protect the American population, vaccinations remain of the utmost importance, per the repeated recommendations of the CDC and other medical professionals.
