Automobili Lamborghini + I.C.E.

Automobili Lamborghini participated in The I.C.E. (International Concours of Elegance, organized on the frozen lake of St. Moritz on 23 to 24 February, for the second year in a row. The House of Sant’Agata Bolognese was represented by Lamborghini Polo Storico, the point of reference for all international Lamborghini enthusiasts and collectors, many of which were welcomed at the event. During the event, Automobili Lamborghini showcased two cars from its Sant’Agata Bolognese museum collection: a 1973 Jarama GTS, ready for a weekend in the snow complete with ski rack, skis and toboggan, and a 1968 400 GT 2+2: both important cars in the company’s history. Although representative of two different historical decades, the 1960s, with its rounded shapes and the 1970s with its characteristic angular design, both Lamborghini 2+2s featured in St. Moritz is equipped with the same powerplant: the legendary Lamborghini 4-liter V-12, with twin overhead camshafts in the front longitudinal position.

“The I.C.E.”, which stands for the International Concours of Elegance and is now in its third edition, established itself right from the start as one of the most captivating events in the world of classic cars. In addition to the concours itself, where the over 50 cars entered are judged not only by specialists in the field but also by artists and architects, the main attraction of the event is the stage on which it takes place: the frozen lake of St. Moritz nestled in the Engadine valley.

Alessandro Farmeschi, Global After Sales Director of Automobili Lamborghini, remarked, “Polo Storico’s participation in The I.C.E. was an opportunity to meet our customers and enthusiasts of classic Lamborghini models in a truly unique setting. This event is close to our own spirit and our way of celebrating the passion for our classic cars: beautiful to see but also fun and exciting to drive. It is an unusual context in which to see a historic Lamborghini, even more so when these are cars that are usually admired in our museum.”

owned by Automobili Lamborghini, was sold new in Sicily and is in its original configuration with Blu Tahiti body and mustard-yellow interior.

1968 400 GT 2+2

In 1966 the 400 GT was presented at the Geneva Motor Show, slightly revised in its lines compared to the 350 GT, especially in the rear part of the body, raised by 6.5 centimeters to become a 2+2 and equipped with the 12-cylinder engine increased to 4 liters, delivering 320 hp at 6500 rpm thanks to the increased bore. With the 400 GT the V12 engine reached its perfect stage of development and would become Lamborghini’s signature engine, going on to equip, with their respective evolutions, all 12-cylinder cars produced in the following decade in Sant’Agata Bolognese. The 400 GT also adopted the Lamborghini gearbox and differential, designed and made in-house, and a revised rear suspension. In the October 1966 issue of American Road & Track magazine, the 400 GT was called “the best GT we’ve ever had a chance to test,” a remark that pleased Ferruccio Lamborghini who, only three years earlier, had begun his new venture with the desire to make just the best GT in the world. The 400 GT 2+2 on show in St. Moritz was delivered in March 1968 to the Grand Garage des Nations in Geneva, in the Grigio Saint Vincent livery with tobacco-brown interior, and is now part of the collection.

Making Your Perfume Last

from Morning to Midnight

Fragrance is a potent accessory, reflecting your unique personality and style. But what truly captures attention is freshness. A vibrant, long-lasting aroma leaves a positive, unforgettable impression in professional settings and personal encounters alike.

However, maintaining that perfect scent throughout the day is no easy feat. Several culprits are at play: your unique body chemistry, environmental factors, and the inherent fade of fragrance notes. Exercise, weather, and exposure to other scents further accelerate this decline.

Today, we’ll help you uncover various ways to achieve dawn-to-dusk fragrance freshness and harness the power of your chosen scent.

Choose the Right Fragrance

Whether you’re enjoying a real money slots app on your phone or considering heading to the casino, a fresh scent is more than welcome to accompany your gaming experience. Keep in mind, though, that not all scents are created equal when it comes to lasting power. Understanding fragrance concentration is key to choosing one that lingers beautifully. Here’s the breakdown of common concentrations:

  • Eau de Parfum (EDP): Your best friend for all-day freshness! This potent concentration boasts a deeper, richer scent that lasts for hours.
  • Eau de Toilette (EDT): Lighter than EDP, EDT offers a refreshing burst that fades graciously. It’s like a midday pick-me-up, requiring more frequent top-ups.
  • Eau de Cologne (EDC): The lightest option, ideal for subtle daytime scents. While charming, it wears off quickly and requires frequent reapplication for lasting fragrance.

Remember to match your desired longevity with the right concentration

Apply Strategically

Unleashing the full potential of your chosen fragrance involves unlocking the secrets of application and understanding your body’s chemistry. Get the most from your prized scent by applying the following tips:

Target Pulse Points

Imagine your body as a fragrance diffuser. Pulse points like your wrists, neck, and inner elbows are where the magic happens. These areas radiate warmth, naturally activating and releasing the fragrance throughout the day. A gentle spritz on these spots ensures a more pronounced and long-lasting scent trail, leaving a captivating impression wherever you go.

Pro Tips for Pulse Point Application

For best outcomes, consider these guidelines:

  • Spritz or dab gently: Remember, less is more! A gentle application is enough to activate the fragrance without overwhelming your senses.
  • Target multiple points: Don’t just focus on your wrists. Explore other pulse points like your neck, inner elbows, and behind the ears for a more immersive and well-rounded scent experience.
  • Avoid rubbing: Rubbing your wrists together can break down the fragrance molecules and shorten their lifespan. Let the warmth do its magic naturally.

Less is More

While the temptation to drench yourself in fragrance might be strong, resist it. Over-application can lead to olfactory fatigue, where your nose simply tunes out the scent. Remember, fragrance should complement you, not overpower you.

Opt for a light touch on your pulse points, starting small and building if needed. This allows you to appreciate the delicate tones of your chosen scent and prevents overwhelming yourself or others.

Keep in mind that fragrance affects more than just your sense of smell. It can linger on your clothes, furniture, and even the air around you. By using less, you avoid creating a lingering scent bomb that might overstay its welcome.

Moisturize

Dry skin doesn’t hold onto fragrance well. So, before spritzing, pamper your skin with a lightweight moisturizer. This creates a base for the fragrance to cling to, enhancing its longevity and ensuring it diffuses beautifully. Plus, hydrated skin generally smells better, adding more freshness to your experience.

For optimal fragrance benefits, opt for a lightweight, oil-free formula that absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or ceramides, which are known for their hydrating properties. This ensures your skin soaks in the hydration without interfering with the fragrance’s diffusion.

Store Your Scent Like a Treasure

Just like precious gems, fragrances need proper care to retain their radiance. Avoid storing your beloved perfume in the bathroom’s humid environment. Instead, opt for a cool, dark drawer away from direct sunlight. This simple step helps preserve the integrity of your fragrance, keeping it fresh and potent for longer.

While darkness and cool temperatures are key, there’s more to consider:

  • Keep it sealed: Tightly close the cap after each use to minimize air exposure, which can also contribute to fragrance breakdown.
  • Preserve the original packaging: Many perfumes come in beautifully designed boxes. Storing your fragrance in its original packaging provides an extra layer of protection from light and dust.
  • Rotate your collection: You probably don’t wear all your perfumes every day. Rotate your collection regularly to ensure each fragrance gets worn and stored properly, preventing it from sitting idle and degrading.

Reapplication with Intention

While your chosen fragrance should provide lasting appeal, a midday touch-up won’t hurt. However, reapply strategically. Focus on the same pulse points you targeted initially. This helps maintain the original scent composition and prevents unwanted distortion.

For a truly seamless refresh, carry a travel-sized version of your chosen fragrance for on-the-go touch-ups. This way, you’re always prepared to maintain your scent without losing its original character.

By incorporating these savvy fragrance tips, you’ll transform your scent game from fleeting moments to an unforgettable aura. Remember, fragrance is personal, so have fun exploring and expressing yourself with different scents.

Gucci Women’s FW24

Gucci views things from a perspective different from what is presumed most appropriate, not following the rules.

This is my way of dreaming, without hurry, visualizing and stratifying aspirations as if they were the bricks of a house. In my fashion, as in my dreams, the exercise is the same. Search within the folds for a void that wants to be filled. Look at the detail very closely before feeling free to back away in pursuit of a broader perspective. Capture the extraordinary where the ordinary is expected.

My dreams, as with my fashion, always converse with reality. Because I am not searching for another world to live in, but rather of ways to live in this world.

Sabato Movements

Making a coat is an act of craftsmanship, symbolic of a culture of exceptional technique. It begins with the construction, proceeding with the lining and the interior, moving between how the fabric falls, how it moves when it is worn, how its color changes if the wool is mixed with more modern fibers. Every act represents a meticulous journey in which each gesture can change the final result. The Fall Winter 2024 collection is an obsessive repetition of that journey, a staging of small subversive acts with regards to the rules of ready-to-wear.

Outerwear

The main coat, in fabric and with a masculine silhouette, has a covered placket and hidden buttoning on the back, which transforms it into an embrace. The same can be found on bombers, peacoats, and leather jackets.

Details

Lace, cut, and reconstructed is embellished with embroideries, other laces, or velvets. Shifts are a combination of overlapping layers, held together by laces. Jacquard prints depict a geometric heron, recognizable only up close. Knitwear is enriched by transparent or slightly off-tone sequins or with a crystal fringe that recreates a ribbed motif. Twin sets aren’t twin sets but distinctive pieces. The colors – the ugly ones, the ones of the heart, and the wrong ones, together.

Handbags

A new top handle bag with a flat and perforated logo that reveals what lies beneath, crafted in nappa with a naturally silky feel and paired with a layer that renders it light and puffy, called GG Milano. Then, a half-moon silhouette inspired by the equestrian motifs found in the Gucci Archive, infused with a contemporary spirit, is also decorated with a new logo. A clutch embellished and held together with a gold-toned metal bar that replicates the iconic bamboo. Finally, a bamboo bucket bag with a broad and embracing silhouette.

Shoes

Horse-riding boots, the symbol par excellence of the connection between Gucci and the world of equestrianism, whose classic silhouette features an elongated metal Horsebit. Also, in a unique over-the-knee version. The Horsebit loafers, which evolve in a platform sandal encapsulated by refined craftsmanship.

Small accessories

An archival necklace in galvanized gold and with a studded motif is woven with a ribbon in the shade of the garment closest to the neck. Cat-eye acetate sunglasses follow the same palette.

Hennessey Special Vehicles

Hennessey Special Vehicles, the Texas-based hypercar manufacturer, has set out plans for its 1,817bhp Venom F5 to exceed 300mph in 2024. The announcement was timed to coincide with the 10 anniversary of the company’s Venom GT becoming the world’s fastest car in February 2014.

2024 marks the tenth anniversary of the Hennessey Venom GT, achieving a verified world record 270.49mph top speed to become the fastest production car ever. To this day, the Venom GT remains the world’s fastest manual transmission car. The giant-slaying feat saw Hennessey exceed the previous record of 268.86mph held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

Now, having delivered 22 customer Venom F5 hypercars, and expanded its engineering team, the company is set to push towards the V-max of ‘America’s Hypercar’. In development, the Venom F5 achieved more than 270mph at the former NASA Shuttle Landing Facility at Cape Canaveral in Florida. Now, the search is on for a runway or public road with a sufficiently long strait to allow the 1,817bhp twin-turbo V8 monster to accelerate beyond 300mph and return to zero safely.

John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: “I love that Koenigsegg is gearing up for big speed, I hope that Bugatti joins the party too – it’s rivalries like this that fuel our passion, and drive us to go faster, innovate more, and push harder! With 22 customer cars delivered and a newly expanded engineering team, we’re well placed to refocus our attention on enabling the Venom F5 to deliver on its potential.

“Our hypercar has a simulated theoretical top speed of 328mph, but we’re certainly not chasing that number. Breaking 300mph in two directions is this year’s goal, while hitting 500km/h (310.8mph) in one direction would be the ultimate way of celebrating the internal combustion engine!”

The renewed push to become the world’s fastest hypercar follows Hennessey’s recent recruitment of former  and the 2023 Pikes Peak record-setting racing driver David Donohue. The pair will work with the Hennessey team to demonstrate what is possible when combining the Venom F5’s bespoke, ultra-lightweight carbon chassis with its 1,187bhp twin-turbocharged V8 ‘Fury’ engine.

Brian Jones, Hennessey VP of Engineering: “I consider the Venom F5 a perfect demonstration of ‘peak combustion’ – it blends 1,817bhp of twin-turbocharged V8 power with just 2,998lbs (1,360kg) of mass to deliver extreme acceleration capabilities. We know for sure we have the power to achieve our goals, so our team will work to optimise power delivery and aerodynamics as we push for top speed.”

American racing champion David Donohue will conduct all high-speed testing and record runs, having joined Hennessey in 2023 as its hypercar test driver. The 2023 Pikes Peak record-setter brought more than three decades of racing experience to Hennessey, including first-place wins at 24 Hours of Le Mans, the North American Touring Car Championship, and the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

While all 24 Venom F5 Coupes sold out in 2021, Hennessey still has a limited selection of build slots available for other open-top and track-focused variants of the Venom F5. Prospective clients may inquire by calling the Hennessey Special Vehicles sales team at +1 979.885.1300 or visiting HennesseySpecialVehicles.com.

SEEING BEYOND

A solo exhibition by LEA COLOMBO

Casa Colombo, 17 Buiten Street, Cape Town

15th February – 25th February, 10am – 6pm From 25th February, by appointment only

Casa Colombo is pleased to announce Seeing BeyondLea Colombo’s latest solo exhibition and first exhibition in South Africa in 2024. The exhibition follows Colombo’s ever-evolving journey as she finds new ways of expressing her unique visual language through an exploration of colour, light, form, and energy. Seeing Beyond delves into the metaphysics of being, inviting viewers to contemplate an inner knowing and the power of the mind, the soul, and the current state of our existence. Colombo dives into the exploration of sacred bio geometry, allowing us to see form and matter through shapes as she explores the permanent fixture of energy, encouraging us to let ideas and knowledge flow through our souls, minds, and bodies. The works invite us to consider the interrelation between the structures of our bodies, the internal composition of matter, and the forms and matter present in the external world. The spaces that Colombo creates are reflective and interactive as she approaches colour and form in bold and exciting ways.

Seeing Beyond urges us to feel a sense of freedom, to tap into an openness that allows us to look inwards and find internal liberation that might lead us to see anew and unveil the mysteries that are all around us. Colombo’s most recent works continue to delve into the interconnectedness of the body, geometry and light resulting in a dynamic visual language that evokes new ways of seeing the world and ourselves. Her interest in sacred geometry and form allows her to look beyond visual attributes towards the symbolic, philosophical, and even spiritual meaning of the matter with which she works, as seen in her big stone sculpture that sways within a pyramid structure. This sculpture points to an elevated sense of awareness and directs our thoughts to the essence of shapes as the dispersion of light and energy continuously change. Colombo’s work transcends conventional boundaries, unravelling the unseen to its simplest form as she harnesses the metaphysical aspects of shapes in her work, breaking them down and turning them into something new to convey deeper truths.

In this exhibition, Colombo prompts us to question our perception of form and to trust our instincts. The artworks challenge viewers to immerse themselves in the constant flow of connection that always runs through and around us. Colombo’s work continues to evolve while maintaining an interest in the animation and dance between light and dark, seen throughout her hands-on photographic practice as well as her more recent sculptural works.

Colombo’s work provides a glimpse into her artistic philosophy. It poses thought-provoking questions about the essence of light, its influence on our presence, and the inherent instinct that we often neglect. The exhibition challenges us to imagine a world saturated with colour, movement, and vibration—a world where we are attuned to the life force that surrounds and defines us.

TENANT ADVOCACY

Neighbors:

It has been brought to our attention that you may be experiencing unfair treatment and practices from the property owners/management.

If you’re a tenant and frustrated with your landlord and/or property management, please engage on this page.

By offering viable solutions and taking immediate action, we are confident that your public spaces and overall tenancy will become more enjoyable.

For Disabled + Elderly Tenants

Reasonable accommodation letters for a wheelchair accessible ramp to be installed should be provided by your doctor and sent into the landlord. Once that’s been sent/delivered to property management, call Commission on Human Rights at (212) 416-0197. Every building with disabled individuals should have a handicap accessible ramp installed, especially for first-floor tenants. It’s the law.

RECENT WINS

After numerous 311/511 complaints, we have a new superintendent/grounds keeper, new paved roads, as well as a Citibike rental station on the corner of 182 + Park Ave.

Additionally, the courtyard has new trash receptacles, and auto body shop overnight parking has almost ceased.

As neighbors, we must continue to support one another, especially with regards to parking enforcement.

No family should have to aimlessly circle the block seeking a spot, especially if they’re pregnant or have a family.

Lastly, someone has reached out regarding safety within the building. If anyone feels threatened on the premises, please contact local authorities. And as the holidays approach, if anyone needs anything just ask.

We cannot always guarantee assistance, however, at minimum Santa can provide you with a door camera.

We are in this together. Let’s keep the young + elderly in this building safe.

Random acts of kindness go a long way. Thus, we are planning activities as well as amenities for tenants in the very near future.

We apologize for any delays, and we are constantly on the hunt for legal aid to assist our efforts.

What’s Next?

Upon signing your lease, you may make a formal complaint to the NYS Attorney General below. It’s an online form that takes minutes to be digitally completed.

Report your landlord if you have mold, have been charged a fee for flooring (NYC landlords should replace flooring every 3 years), and/or have experienced accounting issues regarding rent payments.

Of late, it has been brought to our attention that some have experienced lost checks, cashiers checks and/or accused of using fraudulent money orders.

Moving forward, retrieve a money order from USPS (it’s the cheapest) and remit your rent via certified mail.

As a tactic, landlords tend to lose/misplace checks and/or money orders. If you must go into the office, request receipt, signature, and take a cell photo + digitally file.

Why do landlords use poor accounting tactics? So they can make your life difficult. It’s in your best interest to retrieve a money order at the post office. Take a cell photo of it and digitally file in a cloud. The same practices should be used when mailing in your payments via certified mail. Write those stubs out (unit, date of payment and notate what payment is for “#7G JAN 2024 RENT” and take a photo of proof of payment.

This is the easiest way to avoid unlawful detainers or eviction proceedings.

Electrical, mice, pests, poor ventilation, and incompetent handyman MUST be reported to NYCHA.

If you want more details or need help, please contact my office or call 311 and ask for the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). Outside of New York City, call 212-NEW-YORK. You may also visit www1.nyc.gov/311 to find an answer to your question or determine the proper course of action.

The heat barely comes on and has been repeatedly reported. We should continue to call.

Lastly, the church has been dumping garbage in front of your building, and we must continue to report them.

Moving will not solve poor living conditions. In fact, it’s a strategy for property owners/management to implement gentrification.

Lastly, delivery people need places to lock their bikes. We need to continue to file a digital petition for NYC bike racks to be installed for them and us. And call 511 or MTA to build a sound wall or brigade to decrease nose pollution as well as respiratory issues from train dust.

Everyone in the building, on their next check-up get tested for exposure to mold or asbestos. Save your results.

*A Zoom Meeting will be held within 2 to 5 weeks, so be on the lookout for announcements.

The Veronicas – Gothic Summer

Fresh off the heels of their “Here To Dance” single drop last week, hitmaking sisters The Veronicas officially announced that Gothic Summer, their first international album in 10 years, will be released worldwide on March 22 via Big Noise Music Group. Presave HERE.

Jessica and Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas first started feeding new album speculation in October 2023 when they released the fierce, melody driven anthem “Perfect.” The duo timed the release around their much-anticipated performance at the When We Were Young festival, which Forbes called “a perfect comeback.” In December, they dropped the ska-pop-punk fusion “Detox” and confirmed that they had a new album titled Gothic Summer coming in March 2024.

After a much needed disconnect, the passion to create again came knocking and Gothic Summer was born. Lisa and Jessica found themselves with a myriad of stories to explore: confronting speculation and drama (“Here to Dance”), toxic obsession (“Detox”), the pressures of living in a social culture that is never satiated (“Perfect”) and more. The 8-track album was produced by longtime collaborator, friend and Big Noise label-head John Feldmann, alongside a modern-day roll call of A-list pop/rock juggernauts including Travis Barker, Sierra Deaton, Ryan Linville (Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan), Zhone (Troye Sivan, Kim Petras) and Chris Collins (Royal Otis, Matt Corby) who all challenged the duo to explore their expansive musical range more than ever before.

In addition to releasing new music, The Veronicas will hit the road for a 22-date U.S. Headline Tour (marking their return to U.S. stages after almost a decade). The ‘Gothic Summer’ tour will run from April 3-May 5, with stops in San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Boston, New York City, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and more. Tickets are available now at theveronicas.com/tour.
