Christmas Markets Reopen in SouthWest Germany

The countdown to mulled wine has started already and everyone in SouthWest Germany is looking forward to greeting visitors safely and in the spirit of Christmas and good hygiene. Some Christmas Markets in SouthWest Germany are opening earlier and staying open longer than usual this year as a wonderful come-back after Covid closed the markets last year. So there is more time to enjoy the beautiful environments in a healthy atmosphere.

SouthWest Germany is open to vaccinated travelers and everyone is working together to provide a safe, healthy, and enjoyable experience at the Christmas markets this year. Social distancing guidelines and online tickets, as well as masks in close quarters and plenty of sanitizing stations, are part of the setup along with the traditional gifts and crafts, scents of cinnamon, delicious treats, and hot mulled wine wafting through the air.

We hope you will enjoy this happy news! 360 Magazine is very pleased as well to hear this news! Starting November 25 and running through January 6, Baden-Baden will be hosting its elegant Christmas market. Nestled in the mountains of the Black Forest, the traditional Christmas Market Baden-Baden with its numerous atmospheric attractions will whisk you away to a winter fairytale of a special kind. The scent of mulled wine and gingerbread accompanies you as you stroll past pre-Christmas decorated huts at the beginning of the famous Lichtentaler Allee park and gardens. Let yourself drift across the culinary delights of the Christkindelsmarkt – there are so many treats to discover here. Buy a bag of chestnuts from the sweet wooden locomotive and nibble away; send a wish list to the “Christkind” and put it in the heavenly letterbox; take photos with the magnificent Christmas tree and the illuminated Kurhaus; visit the nativity scene exhibition in the gallery of the Trinkhalle; and marvel at the wide range of products in the shops in the Kurhaus colonnades. There will be regulations for Covid in place that include limiting the number of people at one time and safety distance measures

Three Christmas Markets around Stuttgart Offer Traditional Treats and Tastes

Restarting this year, three Christmas markets close to Stuttgart will be welcoming visitors back. Stretching from Stuttgart’s Old Palace Square to charming Schillerplatz, one of Germany’s oldest Christmas markets will once again present its wares and decorations. You can get a taste of the traditional Swabian yuletide treats by stopping by the “Springerle” stand on the Marketplace. In addition to the wooden molds used for forming them, the anise-flavored specialty biscuits are also on sale here. And another absolute must when strolling through Stuttgart’s Christmas Market is “Hutzelbrot”, a traditional fruit loaf made of sweet, dark dough. The market this year will be open from November 24 to December 30 (one week longer than usual): Monday – Thursday (10 am – 9 pm) Fridays and Saturdays (10 am to 10 pm) and Sundays (11 am to 9 pm). Free entry.

Stuttgart’s Christmas Market

Not more than 20 minutes from Stuttgart, there are elegant stalls at the Ludwigsburg Baroque Christmas Market within a short walking distance to the Ludwigsburg baroque castle. Glove puppets and music boxes, antique and modern Christmas tree decorations are on sale and amazing Swabian specialties delight the palate. Schupfnudeln (potato noodles) and “Holzofendinnede”, a delicacy similar to Tarte flambe baked in a wood-fired oven, and the gingerbread is served fresh from the oven. Open daily from 11 am to 9 pm from November 23 to December 22 and entry is free.

Ludwigsburg’s Christmas Market

At Esslingen’s Medieval and Christmas Market, from the 28th of November to the 22nd of December, merchants in historical costumes peddle their wares just as they did hundreds of years ago. Dyers, felters, blacksmiths, and glassblowers demonstrate traditional crafts, and stilt walkers, jugglers, fire eaters, and minstrels disport themselves around the more than 200 stalls. The concert of medieval music in St. Paul’s Cathedral and the atmospheric backdrop of timbered houses and romantic alleyways are what make Esslingen’s Christmas and Medieval Market feel like a step back into the Middle Ages. Open from November 23 to December 22: Sunday to Thursday (12 pm to 8 pm) and Friday and Saturday (12 to 9 pm).

Nestled in the Black Forest Highlands: The Christmas Market at Ravenna Gorge

The shining Christmas village underneath the high railroad pavilion in the Black Forest Highlands is a very special experience. Nestled in a gorge under a soaring 90-foot high railway viaduct, the small wood huts encircle the visitors and offer regional products and crafts from cuckoo clocks to glass ornaments, all specialties of the Black Forest Highlands.&#a0;It is picturesque and romantic and the Hofgut Sternen hotel offers comfortable rooms, delicious meals, and a delightful store where visitors can ship their wares directly home. There are special offers during Advent time for one or two overnights, including breakfast and a glass of Gluhwein for the Christmas market in the afternoon. They are also taking reservations for hiking by torchlight. The market is open Friday (3 to 9 pm), Saturday (2 to 9 pm), and Sunday (1 to 8 pm) from November 26 to December 19. The entry price is 5 Euros on Friday and 5,50 on the weekend. You can book your tickets online and at the same time reserve your place on the shuttle bus for the Christmas market. Social distancing is observed and masks are required in the shuttle busses.

Royal Winter Magic will Reign at Castle Hohenzollern

The Royal Winter Magic will indulge you with enchanting illuminations and festive decorations in and outside of the castle. Rather than a Christmas market with wares, Castle Hohenzollern is creating a special atmosphere to put you in the Christmas spirit. Stroll along the castle grounds and through the interior and enjoy the Christmas world of the nobles and royals accompanied by Advent music and glamour. Court jester Klaus will create tiny and huge bubbles from the courtyard. Occasionally Santa Claus will drop by. Visitors can reserve a table in the castle restaurant. In the castle garden, you can reserve your favorite little hut to spend a good time with your friends by enjoying mulled wine, gingerbread, and other seasonal snacks. The huts can be reserved by groups of up to 6 persons. Please check the availability of the huts before you book your online tickets. Ticket are available only online and there are a limited number of tickets each day to maintain social distancing. Open from November 25 to January 9 from Sunday to Thursday (3 pm to 8 pm) and Friday and Saturday (3 pm to 9 pm).

Heidelberg Christmas markets re-open with flair and fun!

The Heidelberg Christmas Markets will take place again on all the well-known and popular squares in the Old Town and with all of its well-liked attractions. These include the Gro Fass (Big Barrel) on the Marktplatz (Market Square), the Pyramid or the Springpferdchenkarussel (Horse Carousel) on the University tsplatz (University Square), the “Winter lichen” (Winter Forest) on the Kornmarkt (Grain Square) and, of course, one of the most beautiful ice rinks in Germany, the ice rink on the Karlsplatz (Carl’s Square). The Christmas Market starts on November 18 and ends on December 22, 2021, the Winter Forest will stay open until January 1, 2022, and the ice rink even up until January 9, 2022.

Elvis Presley – Kruse GWS Auctions

Elvis Presley’s rare concert used ovation guitar inscribed in gold nugget hits the auction block for the first time in almost 30 years.

Kruse GWS Auctions, the world-record breaking auction house specializing in entertainment memorabilia, fine jewelry, master timepieces, NFTs, and Royal artifacts has announced a rare and unimaginable surprise to the upcoming Artifacts of Hollywood & Music auction to take place Saturday, December 4, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pacific. 360 Magazine is pleased to write about Kruse GWS Auctions as we recently had a post about their September auctions.

The Elvis Presley Inscribed Ovation Acoustic Guitar is one of the guitars played by Elvis the year before his passing. The guitar was custom made for Presley and features the name Elvis Presley engraved into the neck in gold nugget….fitting for the artist who many refer to as “The King.” The guitar also features Mother of Pearl inlay and comes with the original “TCB” hard case. Most important to the history of this historical instrument is a letter of provenance which will accompany the guitar written on “E.A.P Graceland Memphis” (Elvis Aaron Presley) stationery and states “This guitar was custom made for and given to Elvis Aaron Presley in 1976. The guitar was used by Elvis in two concerts and is now owned by a couple from Winter Springs, Florida.” The letter is signed by Elvis’ first cousin and decorated with their own version of the TCB logo. The guitar was last sold at Sotheby’s almost 30 years ago. This is one of the many incredible items hitting the auction block on December 4, 2021, at 10 am Pacific.

Vegan Fashion Week in Los Angeles

Vegan Fashion Week® (VFW) returned to Los Angeles on October 8-9 for its third edition uniting a curated lineup of international designers. This season’s theme, “Expansion”, explored the challenges our planet is facing through the lenses of fashion and spoke to the rising popularity of cruelty-free fashion around the globe.

Determined to make L.A. the ethical fashion capital of the world, Emmanuelle Rienda invited industry professionals and fashion lovers to gather in the historic heart of downtown LA for a series of four runway shows, where trailblazing ethical labels from around the world presented their new collections.

“Vegan Fashion Week is a snapshot of this buzzing unleashed creativity, waiting for the right platform to exist. We represent the voice of a generation that is tired of being greenwashed or fed elitist narratives,” said Vegan Fashion Week founder and creative director, Emmanuelle Rienda “It is not about being perfect, it’s about inspiring change and creating an ecosystem around values that are truly impactful for humans and non-humans.”

The shows featured new collections from Vegan Tiger, one of Korea’s most prominent vegan fashion brands, and Nous Etudions (Antispeciesist Brand, LVMH Prize Shortlists 2020) from Argentina. The Los Angeles underground fashion scene was represented by two polar opposites: Fan All Flames made its first runway appearance with a dark goth collection and local artist Parker Day brought back the colorful head-banging nostalgia of the 90s rave scene with Pure Void. “I believe we managed to capture the essence of the Los Angeles alternative subcultures,” said Emmanuelle Rienda.

The October event attracted high-profile vegan fashion enthusiasts including Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black), Tara Reid (American Pie), Deaken Bluman (13 Reasons Why), Danielle Macdonald (Dumplin’), Dani Miller (Gucci Beauty Muse), and Kendall Long (The Bachelor), along with other industry insiders, press and influencers.

Alongside the fashion shows, the Vegan World showroom featured collections from Shoes 53045 (LA), Sylven (New York), Anew Atelier (Sydney), Lunar Method (Mexico), Awear (Venice Beach), Sylth Virago (New York), Premium Basics (Italy), Solios Watches (Canada), Fleur and Bee (LA). Margaux The Agency provided the models and the hair team at Luxelab did an incredible job with cruelty-free hair products by Maria Nila Stockholm. 360 Magazine is interested in this new journey for Vegan Fashion Week.

Surfaces- Awaken

Multi-platinum selling duo Surfaces team up with vocalist, producer, and composer Big Wild (Jackson Stell) for their enchanting new track “Awaken (Feel Alive)” – LISTEN HERE. The song began as a dreamy, fan-favorite instrumental from Big Wild’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Superdream;’ Surfaces was enamored by the track, immediately drawn to the atmospheric production. When connecting in the studio, they kept returning to the idea of reimagining “Awaken.” In turn, Surfaces seemingly effortlessly wrote to the track – adding their sweeping vocals and lyricism to create a completely new, lush narrative in “Awaken (Feel Alive)”.The result: an electrifying collaboration showcasing the best elements of both Surfaces’ and Big Wild’s artistry.

“This collaboration came about in such an organic way and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out,” said Surfaces. “The original is so special on its own without words which made writing to it kind of daunting, but thankfully we got lost in a really special headspace and were able to come up with something that we felt did it justice. If this release does nothing more than put listeners on to the original, that’s a win in our minds.” 360 Magazine is excited to see artists collab with each other as Big Wild and Surfaces come together.

On the collaboration, Big Wild lauds Surfaces for their ability to amplify the track: “Over the last year, ‘Awaken’ has resonated with so many people and I began wanting to push the song further by adding lyrics and vocals. Connecting with Colin and Forrest was serendipitous as they already loved the original. Working with them was so natural and really elevated the song. The entire process was like lightning in a bottle. We’re really excited for everyone to hear it!”

Surfaces most recently released Pacifico (Deluxe), which featured four new tracks from the duo, including “C’est La Vie” featuring Thomas Rhett, and “Sheesh!” featuring Tai Verdes. The duo is currently in the midst of their 21-date “Good 2 Be Back Tour”, which kicked off September 8 in Phoenix, AZ, and will conclude on November 18 in Madison, WI. The tour includes special guests Verzache, Khai dreams, and Public Library Commute. Tickets are available on LiveNation.com.

Pacifico, the duo’s fourth studio album, was released on June 25, 2021, via 10K Projects – listen HERE. The project arrived after the success of their singles, “Wave of You”, “Next Thing (Loverboy)”, and “So Far Away”. “Wave of You” marked the duo’s biggest solo debut of their career and has been met with wide support across all major DSPs, including key playlists. Pacifico was recorded by Forrest Frank and Colin Padalecki at a home studio in Malibu, where they sonically channeled the energy of the beach to create the perfect summer album. Pacifico further established the duo’s unique sound, with Ones To Watch writing, “It’s not every day a pop-rock band comes along and reminds us of Bill withers, Hall & Oates, Beach Boys and Chance the Rapper all in one breath”.

From Ashes To New – Quarantine Chronicles Vol. 3

Today, From Ashes To New released their new EP Quarantine Chronicles Vol. 3 via Better Noise Music. Featuring a collaboration with Trevor McNevan from Thousand Foot Krutch on “Wait for Me, Quarantine Chronicles Vol. 3 continues to touch on the trials and tribulations of life. The project crescendos with an emphasis on the importance of knowing that you have a support system waiting for you on the other side of darkness. The final installment of the band’s intimate EP series, which includes new music, covers, features, and new versions of previously released fan-favorite tracks, arrives following critical acclaim for the preceding offerings in the series. Released as a part of Quarantine Chronicles Vol.1, “Bulletproof (feat. Johnny 3 Tears of Hollywood Undead)” was well-received by both fans and critics, with Loudwire writing, “The reworked track is a catchy one with an ebb and flow beat that should instigate an unconscious head nod as it rolls along.” Quarantine Chronicles Vol. 3 is now available to stream across digital platforms HERE.

Today, the band also premiered a new video for “Wait for Me” from the EP, which follows the emotional journey of a soldier while stationed overseas and the difficulty of reconnecting with his family upon his return. Raising awareness for military members suffering from PTSD, the band is encouraging fans to donate to Headstrong, a national-facing mental health treatment practice of choice for the nation’s military, veterans, and their family members, after watching the video. The video includes a donate button, for which the organization expresses gratitude, stating, “Headstrong would like to thank From Ashes to New for their continued commitment to raising awareness around mental health. We would also like to thank them for shining a light on the veteran community’s needs, as well as helping to destigmatize the need for mental health treatment. We’re honored to partner with them and all funds raised will provide care to the veterans in Headstrong’s program.” Watch the official music video HERE.

From Ashes to New’s frontman Matt Brandyberry said of the video, “Being absent either mentally or physically is a difficult situation for anyone who has to endure it. Whether it’s being deployed in the armed forces, dealing with PTSD, drug addiction, or something that changes the structure of a relationship, waiting for someone to get through adversity in their life can be difficult. We all know there are people who stand in our corner and try their best to bring us to light, but for how long and through how much can they handle the darkness. Being in that dark place, I’ve had to ask my loved ones the question “Will you wait for me?” 360 Magazine is really excited to hear this album, multiple artists have been producing new music.

Trevor McNevan explained that he joined the track because “It’s always an honor to be a part of another band’s project or song that you believe in. We share the same goal of trying to defy the stigma around mental health, and I think this song is a portrait of that.” The previous EPs in the series have seen great success, enjoying over 13.3 million streams across digital music platforms so far. Additionally, “Light Up The Sky,” which was featured on Vol. 2, premiered on SiriusXM’s Octane earlier this summer.

This summer the band performed in cities and festivals across the US, including in New York’s Gramercy Theatre, Blue Ridge Rock Festival, and Rocklahoma. Having just come off the road with P.O.D. on their “Satellite” 20th Anniversary Tour, From Ashes To New is continuing to work on new music and will be gearing up for their Galveston, TX show at ShipRocked. The band is set to perform at the cruise festival on January 22, 2022. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit: https://www.shiprocked.com. Exhibition given by The Untitled Space for use by 360 Magazine

The Untitled Space × Fahren Feingold – Wet Dreams

The Untitled Space is pleased to present “WET DREAMS” a solo exhibition of watercolor paintings by artist Fahren Feingold on view from October 21st through November 13th, 2021. “WET DREAMS,” curated by Indira Cesarine, premieres the latest series of works on paper and panels by the artist known for her ethereal feminine nudes that emphasize the female gaze through vibrant brush strokes using her signature wet-on-wet watercolor technique. The exhibition will be the third in-person solo exhibition of artwork by Feingold presented by The Untitled Space. The artist, who has been represented by the gallery since 2017, has been featured in a number of group exhibitions and online solo shows presented by the gallery and is featured in numerous notable international collections.

“In my new series of work, WET DREAMS, I return to the female form. I explore the relationships between beauty, sensuality, and nudity through my own female narrative lens.  I want my viewer to feel the colors of that expression. I want my watercolors to wash over them, gently inviting them to sink deeper into the subjects, not just in the erotic sense.  The series exposes the unclothed form, not as a sexual act but rather as a revelation in body and mind connectedness. 360 Magazine is amazed at the work of Fahren Feingold for this exhibit.

In WET DREAMS, my practice has evolved. Instead of taking inspiration from vintage imagery, I am working from my own photographs as visual references. Many of the models are personal friends, giving me an insider point of view to their real lives and presence rather than creating imaginary narratives about who the women are and the past lives they may have led. By taking time to really look at and get to know the women, their stories, and their bodies, my paintings are like a love letter to my subjects, shared with the world so they can see what I feel. I don’t literally paint my models but the emotions they radiate.” – Artist Fahren Feingold

“Using watercolors to paint my bright and bold figures gives me access to those who usually shy away from nudity. In my work, I uncover women’s pre-sexualized bodies to explore the beauty and intuitive emotions of my feminist gaze. For this exhibition, I worked on growing in scale, with several pieces on multiple panels. As a physically petite person, I struggle with feeling seen and heard. Through the act of painting, I let my work speak loudly for me. Thus, expanding the watercolors from the confines of single paper dimensions, my voice becomes that much harder to ignore. WET DREAMS is a demand for people to listen and see women as equals while sharing the visual poetry of their unique intimate stories.” – Artist Fahren Feingold

Harmony × Jewelry

Craft in America, the Peabody Award-winning series that explores America’s creative spirit through the language and traditions of the handmade announces two new episodes. Harmony bridges the art forms of music and craft, celebrating the joy of music and the creation of handcrafted instruments. Jewelry explores the history, artistry, and impact of personal adornment.

Harmony features accordion maker Marc Savoy and the Savoy family; bow maker Susan Lipkins; luthier Doug Naselroad and the Appalachian Artisan Center Culture of Recovery program; and artist Richard Jolley, whose monumental glass sculpture inspired the commission of a violin concerto. In Hindman, Kentucky master luthier Doug Naselroad leads the Appalachian Artisan Center Culture of Recovery program, which teaches musical instrument making to people in recovery from opioid addiction and other substance abuse.

The program teaches students how to make the mountain dulcimer. Using woods from the region, it seeks to revive the local economy as well as support its students on their road to recovery. Many of the graduates go on to become luthiers themselves or apply their new knowledge to other occupations – a testament to the healing power of craft. Jewelry features classic jeweler Tom Herman; artist Harriete Estel Berman who creates jewelry using recycled materials; the co-editors of Ornament Magazine; the legacy of modernist jeweler Art Smith; nature-inspired artist Gabrielle Gould; and Navajo/Hopi master jeweler, Jesse Monongya.

We explore the legacy of Art Smith, whose avant-garde creations redefined the boundaries of modernism from 1946 to the early 70s. Smith ran his jewelry studio in the heart of Greenwich Village. He designed for some of this country’s most prominent African American creatives including James Baldwin, Lena Horne, and Harry Belafonte. His story is brought to life with the help of artist Joyce J. Scott, photographer Michael Fields, art historian Leslie King-Hammond, and curator Joanne Hyppolite from the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

We visit the studio of Harriete Estel Berman in San Mateo, California who explores women’s roles and environmental issues through her jewelry. She works with recycled materials to create thought-provoking works of art that challenge the values of our society. 360 Magazine is pleased to see how jewelry is created and crafted in America.
