Kruse GWS Auctions, the world-record breaking auction house specializing in entertainment memorabilia, Royal artifacts and fine jewelry has announced an unprecedented offering for auction of iconic Elvis Presley memorabilia to be included in the Artifacts of Hollywood and Music auction to take place Saturday, September 4, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In 1972, Elvis Presley marked his first live performance at Madison Square Garden in New York. The performances sold out and his iconic Eyelet jumpsuit and cape designed by the famous Bill Belew quickly became one of the most photographed and iconic costumes of Elvis’ career. Fans packed the famous venue to hear songs including Love Me Tender, Heartbreak Hotel, Don’t be Cruel and so many others. Imagine being in the audience when Presley strolled out on stage in the custom made eyelet jumpsuit and embellished cape swooning the thousands of fans who came to see him perform. The Eyelet Jumpsuit has been in a collection for over 30 years and has not been offered for sale since. The jumpsuit was made by Bill Belew, who is famous for creating some of Elvis’s most iconic wardrobe. The most phenomenal thing is that the artifact also still contains the IC Costume, Hollywood California tag still inside. Presley was the first person in history to sell out four shows consecutively at Madison Square Garden at the time.

In 1968, Elvis Presley starred in the film Speedway opposite Nancy Sinatra. Presley played a racecar driver in the musical action film. The racing suit Elvis Presley wore in the film is among the other Elvis Presley highlights. One of the most surprising items in the sale is Elvis’s helmet that no one knew still existed that was worn by the superstar in the film Viva Las Vegas; his personal Schick Electric Razor and case; Presley’s personal rattail comb; Presley’s personal guitar pick; and an Elvis Presley signed 1956 Songwriter’s contract among other items from the private collection.

A collection of some of the most iconic automobiles from film and television has been added to the highly anticipated entertainment memorabilia auction which has already received global media attention.

From ultra-fast escapes, dangerous heists and tough cityscapes, Grand Theft Auto became one of the world’s most popular action-adventure games. In an unprecedented opportunity for the auction house, The Grand Theft Auto V 2006 Dodge Viper SRT automobile will take center stage in the Artifact of Entertainment and Music Auction. The one-of-a-kind Bravado Banshee built by West Coast Customs and museum exhibited was commissioned by Rockstar Games and built for the release of the fifth installment of the hit Grand Theft Auto video game series in 2012. The car is a stalwart for the series and is nearly an exact copy of the video game Banshee. The car includes custom made badges, special embroidered floor mats, customized carbon interior on dash, door panels and center console, metal-flake blue paint, custom leather seats and interior with Banshee logos, red stitching and piping and red face custom gauge.

Collectors and fans alike will remember those famous words spoken by Marlon Brando when he said “I’m going to make you an offer you can’t refuse.” Kruse GWS Auctions will also offer the 1950 Cadillac Fleetwood 74 Limousine used in the blockbuster 1972 film “The Godfather,” which is an extraordinary opportunity for any fan of the film that also starred Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, James Caan and Diane Keaton. The Cadillac was originally owned by Mae West and will come with extensive documentation.

The 1985 Cadillac El Dorado Convertible Screen Used automobile from the hit Netflix program “Stranger Things 3” (Ep.5) and used by Winona Ryder and David Harbour was known as the “TODFTHR,” and has been museum exhibited.

The El Dorado was used in Season 3, Episode 5 titled “The Flayed.” In this episode Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce (Winona Ryder) are escaping from the Russians, when Hopper’s Blazer is shot up and explodes. After a long walk through the woods, the two characters find a 7-11 convenience store and commandeer the Cadillac at the gas tank.

1950 Cadillac Fleetwood from “The Godfather” Commences a Large Collection of Iconic Cars from Film and Television

Dressed in black leather with his guitar strapped across his chest, Elvis Presley strolled on stage in 1968 to perform in what would become his legendary TV Comeback Special. It was here that the King reclaimed his crown in one of his greatest performances of all time. With Kruse GWS Auctions’ long-standing reputation for offering the most iconic Elvis Presley memorabilia and producing record-breaking auctions in entertainment memorabilia, fine jewelry, iconic fashion, and Royal artifacts, the auction house will exclusively offer the incredible Elvis Presley 1968 Comeback Special Cherry Red Hagstrom Viking II guitar at the Artifacts of Hollywood & Music Auction to be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. P.T.

The Hagstrom Viking II guitar was played by the King of Rock and Roll, on December 3, 1968, on NBC Television. This marked the superstar’s return to live performance after seven years when his career was centered on the movie business. The guitar is cherry red with a majestic mother of pearl inlay and is also pictured with Elvis on the cover of his RCA album “From Elvis in Memphis.” There is no other guitar in Elvis Presley’s history that stood for a more monumental moment. The original special came together when Presley’s manager Col. Tom Parker and producer Bob Finkel formulated a strategy for Presley’s return to live touring. The tour’s launch began with The International Hotel in Las Vegas. The guitar has been exhibited at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum and has been in the same collection for almost 30 years.

Of other major historical proportions, there is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a varied collection of original 16mm workprint film reels from the 1970 Academy Award-winning Woodstock documentary by Michael Wadleigh. For 50 years, the film has been the primary reference for pop culture historians. It has been deemed as one of the most important films of the era and is revered as such to this day. The lot gives an authentic snapshot of what occurred at Max Yasgur’s field and an extraordinary offering of music’s most celebrated event.

On Saturday, December 5, 2020, the Oscar-nominated actress Melanie Griffith’s 48.00ctw Diamond, 8.5mm Pearl and Solid Platinum Pair of Antique Bracelets from her mother, Tippi Hedren, sold for $156,250 during the “Billionaire’s Estate & Royal Auction” event. The final bid marks the highest price paid for Tiffany & Co. jewelry at auction.

The pair of solid platinum, diamond and pearl antique bracelets personally owned by film star Melanie Griffith come with quintessential Hollywood provenance of having been gifted to her by her mother, iconic Hollywood actress Tippi Hedren, who famously won a Golden Globe Award for her iconic role in Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.” The bracelets are collectively embellished with approximately 48ctw round and old European cut fiery white diamonds and are lined with eight 8.5mm pearls each. The bracelets were sold with a personal letter from Griffith’s famous mother and are housed in a fitted box. The bracelets measure 7” in length and 2.15” wide and are marked Tiffany & Co.

In a stunning round of fast and furious online bids from around the globe, Kruse GWS Auctions sold a Hermès Shiny Black Porosus Crocodile, 10.70ctw Diamond & White Gold Birkin Bag, never used, in box for a remarkable $287,500. This sale marked yet another world-record garnered by the auction house, proving Dame Brigitte Kruse, who was knighted this year, may add “Queen of Handbags” soon to her title.

Coveted for their rarity and craftsmanship, Birkin bags have also carved out a rare and lesser known niche, paving the way for luxury handbags as investments. Over the past 35 years Birkins have out-performed both the value of Gold and the S&P 500 stocks. Since April of 2020, Dame Brigitte Kruse has sold over $2,000,000 worth of handbags from the most sought-after luxury brands around the globe, including Hermès, Chanel, Gucci,  Judith Leiber, Fendi, Valentino, MCM, Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, Versace, Louis Vuitton, and more. Selling at $287,500, the Hermès Birkin bag secured the world-record for the highest sale every achieved for a Black Hermès Birkin handbag. 

Other highlights of the auction included the Ford 2016 Shelby GT-H 50th Anniversary Hertz Rent-a-Racer Edition. The highly collectible and sought-after vehicle was #30 of 171 total of these cars made as a collaboration with Hertz and sold for $93,750. 

In this auction, one of the fine watch highlights was the sale of a Rolex 1979 Cosmograph Daytona Solid 18K Yellow Gold 37mm Watch sold for $37,500. The handsome timepiece is one of the most highly sought after and collectible models of the brand and is crafted of solid 18k yellow gold.
