RAINBOW KEY AWARDS 2022

Since 1993, the City of West Hollywood has presented Rainbow Key Awards to honor those who have made outstanding contributions to the LGBTQ+ community. This year, the founding team of Revry will be recognized for their fantastic work for the LGBTQ+ communityDamian PelliccioneLaShawn McGheeAlia Daniels, and Chris Rodriguez are equal co-founders of the only LGBTQ-first streaming platform. 

Since its inception, more than 155 Rainbow Key Awards have been presented. Previous honorees include activists, artists, civic leaders, educators, and many more. Contributions worthy of the Rainbow Key Award come in many forms, such as community or humanitarian action, the arts, sports, or medicine that benefits the global gay and lesbian community.

The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 29, at 6:00 p.m. at the West Hollywood City Council Chambers. The event is free to attend for all, and those interested can RSVP here.

UPROAR Hip Hop Festival

Lil Wayne is hitting the stage along with members of Young Money and friends for the UPROAR Hip Hop Festival at the Torch inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Friday, Aug. 13. CampNova, with Lil Wayne, is giving away VIP live stream tickets with every purchase of GKUA Ultra Premium cannabis products available for sale HERE.

“GKUA is about feeling inspired,” Lil Wayne said. “I’m looking forward to sharing that GKUA inspiration from the L.A. Coliseum. It is time to celebrate with friends.”

The giveaway also includes Campnova’s retail partners — Hellapaxx and Smoke On The Water, delivery companies tasked to deliver tickets directly to customers who order GKUA between Aug. 10-13. GKUA is available for same or next-day delivery. Customers also have the option of paying in cash or with credit cards. Tickets are available for delivery in the entire state of California, although limited in availability. The retail value of the ticket is estimated at $75.

The GKUA Ultra Premium flower, available on CampNova, features eighths of G.O.A.T. and Slime and the products including virtual tickets with every purchase.

The VIP tickets for the UPROAR Hip Hop Festival will provide virtual experiences—from a dance competition to an art walk, along with non-stop backstage interviews and roaming cameras. It also includes glimpses of the red carpet, an inside view of the VIP Lounge and access to virtually interact with the immersive elements of the live stream.

Following the announcement of the UPROAR Hip Hop Festival, the GKUA Creative Director, Baqi Kopelman, also told Forbes, the August concert is the first of more Lil Wayne events at the L.A. Coliseum. GKUA recently entered an exclusive agreement with the venue to host 4/20 events, including in-person and virtual parties, performances and other events. The deal is set for the next five years with an option for renewal.

“We are creating an experience that will allow you to party with some of the greatest hip-hop artists of our time and all your best friends,” added Kopelman.

Purchase is not necessary.

Songs to Save Them All

Emmylou Harris, Two Feet, SYML, Wrabel and more to perform in “Songs to Save Them All” livestream concert on May 6 to benefit Best Friends Animal Society

Numerous musicians are set to appear in “Songs to Save Them All: A Benefit Concert for Homeless Pets,” a three-hour benefit concert for Best Friends Animal Society streaming on May 6, 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.  

Recording artists expected to perform include country music legend Emmylou Harris, as well as Aunty SocialBaker Grace, Brandon Jenner, Canyon City, Chappell Roan, Davis John PattonDylan DunlapGeographerJoshua Radin, Laura Jean AndersonMunnPryor & LeeSammy RaeSYMLThe Joy FormidableTim AtlasTwo FeetVictoria AnthonyWILD, Wild Rivers, WOLF and Wrabel.  

In addition to the musical talent, celebrities including Lauren Ash, Mayim Bialik, author W. Bruce Cameron, TikTok influencer Caitlyn Cohen, Abbie Cornish, Kat Dennings, Josh Gad, Tricia Helfer, Thomas Lennon, Zosia Mamet, Natalie Morales, Kevin Nealon, Alison Pill, Dennis Quaid, Norman Reedus, Katee Sackhoff, Reid Scott, Amanda Seyfried, Brittany Snow, Katie Stevens, Cecily Strong, Holly Taylor, Ashley Williams, Bellamy Young, and others are also expected to make appearances to support the cause. 

 “Music is a universal language and brings so much joy to the world,” said Julie Castle, chief executive officer at Best Friends Animal Society. “This concert will celebrate how music and our love of animals unite us and show how we can all come together to support each other, our communities and homeless pets.” 

The free event will livestream on Tiltify, Twitch, YouTube and Facebook, as well as at Best Friends website. Viewers will have the opportunity to donate to Best Friends Animal Society via Tiltify to support making America no-kill by 2025. 

All proceeds will support Best Friends’ work across the country, including lifesaving collaboration with thousands of shelters and animal welfare groups.  There will also be a spotlight on the organization’s recent No-Kill Los Angeles initiative achievement, which reached a 90.49% save rate in the City of Los Angeles for 2020.  

“Everyone at Best Friends sends our gratitude to the musicians, singers, and songwriters who are sharing their time and talent for this awesome event,” Castle said. “We hope animal lovers everywhere will tune in, enjoy the music, and learn more about how everyone can make a different for homeless pets.”

Virtual Music Festival

Cincinnati Music Festival presented by P&G (CMF) won’t skip a beat in 2020. Through a marathon of new and previous music content, consumer engagement opportunities and digital presence, CMF is creating the #FEELSLIKECMF Virtual Weekend Experience, July 23-25. The innovative free event, to be available on cincymusicfestival.com, will focus on celebration, community and local impact and is also supported by AARP.   

“Music provides hope, comfort and determination during uncertain times,” said Joe Santangelo, producer of CMF. “Leading up to and during #FEELSLIKECMF Weekend, we will strategically work to uplift our neighbors, support local black artists and musicians and drive commerce to local Black owned businesses and restaurants. Cincinnati Music Festival began in 1962 and is one of the largest music festivals in the United States attracting over 90,000+ people from around the country with its roster of leading R&B, jazz, soul and hip-hop artists creating an economic impact of $107 million for Cincinnati.
