The Lumineers will release their new album III on September 13th through Dualtone (an Entertainment One Company) in the U.S. and Canada and Decca Records for the rest of the world. The two-time GRAMMY nominated band has also released “Gloria,” the first single from the album, which is out today. Lead vocalist Wesley Schultz says the song “is about love between an addict and her family.” The new album III is audacious: every note, every syllable, and every moment of silence in between is emotionally charged. The album is darker in tone than previous albums and is presented in three chapters, with each one centering on one main character from a fictitious family known as the Sparks, who span three generations in the album’s storyline. III‘s concept began while the band was writing in the Catskill mountains, where producer Simone Felice works. Mixing raw emotional themes with their ear-catching melodies, expressive vocals and trademark acoustic sound, III moves masterly in artistic directions not yet traveled by the band. Written by the two founding members, Schultz and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites, the album sees violinist/vocalist Lauren Jacobson officially joining the band. Her playing can be heard on the band’s previous two albums. She joins the touring lineup that includes pianist Stelth Ulvang, bassist/backing vocalist Byron Isaacs and multi-instrumentalist Brandon Miller. (After eight years, cellist/vocalist Neyla Pekarek left the group in 2018 to embark on a solo career.) The Lumineers have enjoyed substantial commercial success: their 2012 self-titled debut featured the hit single, “Ho Hey” and was certified triple-platinum in 2018, the same year their 2016 sophomore album, Cleopatra, was certified platinum and hit #1 on the Billboard Top 200. They’ve had 18 #1 hits on Triple A, Alternative and other radio charts, including “Ophelia” maintaining #1 for 13 weeks on Triple A. The Lumineers became only the second artist in history to hold the top slot on the AAA chart for that length of time. The band has sold out tours across the world, with over 300,000 tickets sold on 2017’s Cleopatra World Tour and ended with 27 sold out arena shows. The Lumineers have also supported icons and their musical heroes on the road, including Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on his final tour and U2 on its Joshua Tree tour. This year, the band plans to tour across the U.S. and Europe, including their biggest ever UK shows at The O2 Arena London, Manchester Arena, The SSE Hydro Glasgow, and dates across Europe including 3Arena Dublin, Le Zénith Paris and Verti Music Hall Berlin, following a string of festival dates that include Hangout, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Woodstock and more. Regarding the new album, Fraites says, “This collection of songs worked out in a beautiful way, and I feel with this album we’ve really hit our stride.”

Great Vegas Festival of Beer

Nevada’s largest beer festival, Great Vegas Festival of Beer, has announced its lineup of brewers participating in the Grand Tasting at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center from 3 to 7 p.m., and 2 p.m. for early entry and VIP, on Saturday, April 6.

More than 100 craft breweries will come together to offer more than 500 different brews throughout the afternoon. To accompany the unlimited beer samples, the Grand Tasting will feature culinary offerings from Get Motley’s VIP chefs, Chef Jose Navarro and Chef Geno Bernardo, as well as a bar-arcade, silent disco experience and many other unique activations. Early entry special reserve beers will include Frozen Berry Tart Gose from CraftHaus Brewery, Cryo Stash from Hop Valley Brewing Company, Benedict Cucumberbatch from Mason Ale Works, Hualapai IPA from PT’s Brewing Company and more. This year’s official beer, “Hopical Storm,” is a five-hop pale ale collaboration between Motley Brews and local favorite Big Dog’s Brewing Co. A beer hopped and brewed with tropical flavors picked out by Motley Fans themselves, the exclusive “Hopical Storm” was created only to be consumed at the festival and special on-premise locations following the festival. Additional local brews available at the festival include Las Vegas Craft Lager from Big Dog’s Brewing Company, Good Maple Morning from Chicago Brewing Company, Zitrone from CraftHaus Brewery, Hendertucky from Lovelady Brewing Company, Mucker Irish Red from Tonopah Brewing Co. and more.

Out-of-state beers include Sour Saison from New Belgium Brewing Company, Anchor Steam Beer from Anchor Brewing Company, Hazyish IPA from Avery Brewing Co., Mango Wheat from Blue Moon Brewing Company, Blueberry Cream Ale from Garage Brewing Co. and more. Tickets for the Grand Tasting start at $45 plus fees, with entry access at 3 p.m., along with a tasting glass for unlimited beer samples. Limited VIP tickets to the Grand Tasting are priced at $95 plus fees, complete with early entry at 2 p.m., access to the Get Motley VIP Lounge, which includes limited-release and unique brews, a decadent spread of beer-inspired cuisine prepared by top chefs from Las Vegas, upgraded seating and more. An unpredictable anthem teetering between manic energy and cathartic falsetto, the track invites listeners into the artist’s handcrafted sonic world. Produced and performed by Konrad, “The Long Way Out” hinges on an airy beat, haunting vocals, and a seesawing chant—“We take the long way out.”

On the video Konrad said: Originally the treatment for “The Long Way Out Video” was about a visual metaphor for a vanity filled man fighting to escape the chaos of his own mind. Having spent time shooting the video, I began to realize that it was very much a metaphor to my past as an artist, like a prologue to my future. The look, the way I’m dressed, even the style and lyrics of the song all seem to dwell in both an old and new world for me. It wasn’t something I was consciously aware of during the process of shooting. It’s quite a liberating experience to have that documented and showcased in this music video, especially being that It’s my introduction to the world.” On the track Konrad previously said: “The Long Way Out is a journey through the act of letting go, and how romanticized it can be throughout the grieving process. Unable to accept the changes within ourselves, or the changes in another person, as we reach for a connection that no longer exists. I wrote this song to acknowledge and work through this within myself. Born and raised in Abbotsford, BC Canada, Konrad devoted his entire life to crafting music. Growing up in a house where creativity would be encouraged at every turn, he spent countless hours writing songs and producing. Following stints in the studio and on the road with other artists, he locked himself away in the studio at 26 and commenced work on what would become his forthcoming debut. With nothing more than a demo tape, he caught the attention of LAVA founder Jason Flom who signed him on the spot upon listening to his music, because of the downright mind-blowing songcraft. The best way to describe the music would be Thom Yorke translating Christopher Nolan’s Memento into songs, and even that only scratches the surface.

Today, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, rapper and producer, Maejor, released the official video for his track Nirvana featuring Yashua and Jeon. The video was directed by Chad Tennies and was filmed in the streets of Atlanta. Rich with color, the video is a vibrant representation of the new track, which showcases Maejor’s unique style of Latin-infused hip-hop. GLOBAL K-POP SUPERSTARS NCT 127

NCT 127 will embark on its first North American tour on April 24 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, performing 11 shows through mid-May. The band will perform national television shows, as well as engage in additional promotion activities in New York and Los Angeles.

Emerging singer/songwriter Billy Raffoul releases an acoustic performance of his new single “Lovely” today.  “Lovely” was written by Raffoul and produced by Greg Kurstin and Raffoul and was released last month on Interscope Records.   “Lovely” will appear on Raffoul’s forthcoming debut album which will be released later this year.

Raffoul will hit the road this spring supporting Parachute on their North American tour.  The extensive run of dates with Parachute will bring Raffoul to New York’s Gramercy Theater, Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom, D.C.’s 9:30 Club, Boston’s Royale as well as two dates at Los Angeles’ Troubadour.   Raffoul is looking forward to widening the reach of his live show, a stripped-back performance currently featuring only Raffoul, his guitar, and his drum pedals.

Growing up in the small farming town of Leamington, Ontario, Raffoul first started writing songs at age 10, thanks in no small part to the influence of his father—a musician who’s opened for everyone from Joe Cocker to Bon Jovi. After landing his first paying gig—playing to long-haul drivers at a local truck stop—Raffoul began playing at nearby bars and clubs at age 16, often driving into Detroit for shows. He eventually connected with a manager and moved down to Nashville to push forward with his music career.
