Rich The Kid and Migos star Quavo lock into hard-hitting, hilarious and hypnotic bars over a melodically Atlanta trap sound, serving as a much-needed reunion between the two.

Rich The Kid is returning with his new release with his new partner label Republic Records and is looking toward 2020 with his greatest music yet. In 2017 Rich The Kid delivered his intoxicating “New Freezer” with Kendrick Lamar. The RIAA double Platinum track was followed by the triple Platinum colossal single “Plug Walk” in 2018. At this point, Rich The Kid had merely hit his stride after years of grinding, making records and breaking other acts like the world famous Migos and Famous Dex. Rich’s fame was growing as both a star rapper and label entrepreneur.  The World Is Yours debuted in 2018, fueled by the aforementioned “New Freezer” and “Plug Walk.” Titled as a clear nod to Nas, the project showcased how Rich The Kid navigated seamlessly through crafting bangers that not only could live in a club, but also through car radios and AirPods. He followed with The World Is Yours 2 and is now ready to bring the world his new music.

Chic and Unique: How to Wear a Leather Jacket and Add Your Own Flare to It

Leather jackets are timeless. So, it can be hard to wear them in your own way. Here’s how to wear a leather jacket and let your personal style shine through.

In all the annals of style history, you would be hard-pressed to come up with a more iconic single item than the leather jacket. From the battlefront to the home front, the fashion elite to the rebels, and transcending time and nationalities, the leather jacket pops up everywhere.

In fact, it’s such a ubiquitous piece that you’d be equally hard-pressed to figure out how to wear a leather jacket while making the look your own.

Fortunately, a good leather jacket can be as versatile as it is timeless. It’s all just a matter of matching the statement that you want to make with the right style.

Leather Jacket Styles

Leather jackets as we know them have been around for more than a hundred years. In that length of time, numerous styles have come about, each of which comes with its own history and carries its own connotations.

You want to make the leather look your own. But in order to do that, you need to pick the right style to start with.

The Classic

The classic leather jacket is the most understated of the bunch. With minimal frills, the most important thing here is to find one that fits properly as the way it sits on your body is everything.

The classic is the most conservative option, and therefore the most flexible. It is equally at home in the streets as it is in the office. But it’s also the least ambitious and doesn’t have the same potential as other options.
It’s safe and reliable if a bit basic.

The Biker Jacket

The choice of rebels and iconoclasts everywhere, from Marlon Brando in The Wild One to the rough look of the Ramones.

As the name implies, these were the jacket of choice for early motorcycle enthusiasts. Their robust construction is excellent for shielding a rider from the wind, and provide some protection from road rash in the event of a crash. In fact, they’re still popular with riders of both motorcycles and dirt bikes for those very reasons.

But whether you ride or not, they’re still an iconic look, if a bit limited. They make for excellent streetwear but are not the most appropriate in business or formal settings. At best you’ll look ill-dressed, and at worst out-of-touch.

For that reason, they’re best reserved for environments where you can let your hair down and be yourself.

Flight and Bomber Jackets

These could technically be considered distinct styles, but as one came from the other, it felt appropriate to group them together.

Despite leather jackets being associated with motorcycling, they actually trace their existence back to the early days of aviation, though they served much the same purpose. Early airplanes didn’t have enclosed cockpits, so you can imagine the kind of cold and wind that pilots would have had to deal with.

Flight and bomber jackets come in a variety of cuts and styles. Many come with sheer lining, a holdover from when their function was to keep pilots from freezing in their cockpits. For this reason, they make excellent winter wear.

But there is a variety of lighter options that will serve you well throughout the fall and springtime. In any case, this is a classic style that is acceptable to wear in most situations. Depending on what you wear it with, it can be strictly casual or used to add some personality to your office wardrobe.

The Racer Jacket

Though not strictly European, I tend to consider these the overseas cousin of the American biker jacket. After all, they have much the same origin.

Recreational motorcycling really took off in the years after World War II, with young bikers both stateside and abroad finding the need for a jacket that was heavy enough to withstand the elements.

In contrast to the more elaborate biker jacket, though, the racer jacket is comparatively slim an minimalist. It is more fashionable in general and doesn’t carry the same rough and tumble connotations as its cousin.

For that reason, it is a very versatile piece and an excellent choice for someone who wants to make a statement but still look sophisticated at the same time.

How to Wear a Leather Jacket as Part of a Style Statement

When wearing a leather jacket, you really want it to be the core of your outfit. The jacket should do the talking, therefore, the rest of your look should be understated. However, understated doesn’t mean irrelevant.

The most important decision at this stage is if the look you’re going for is having you dress up or dress down. Are you going for a raw iconoclast vibe or is something smart to impress at the office?

With that in mind, you can start making style choices that complement the jacket you’ve chosen. For example, you might pair a biker jacket with dark, distressed denim, a blank shirt, and either high tops or some classic Doc Martens to create a grunge look.

On the other end of the spectrum, you can use a sportier leather jacket to add a little bit of style to your regular business casual. Just do a basic white shirt and tie, some grey slacks, then throw the jacket on top. Get a matching pair of Oxfords to complete a simple but sophisticated look.

Those are just some basic suggestions, but your imagination is really the only limitation here. Just remember to make choices that complement the statement your jacket makes, rather than distract from it.

A Style Essential That’s Not Going Anywhere

Leather jackets as we would recognize them first popped up around the turn of the last century. In that time they have cemented their place as a cornerstone piece in wardrobes around the world. As such, learning how to wear a leather jacket with style and tact is mandatory.

Fortunately, there is a look for practically everyone. From barroom rebel to boardroom smart, the right leather jacket can integrate itself into any environment while setting you apart from the crowd.

And in order to make sure that you stay on the cutting edge, always remember to keep up with 360 for all the latest on style, culture, and living on the edge.

Common Misconceptions When it comes to ESAs

Emotional support animals are becoming more popular and accepted as the stigmas surrounding mental health go away, and people prioritize self-care. Millions of people have mental conditions that go untreated for various reasons, whether they can’t afford regular therapy or do not have health insurance. Having a pet is an easy way to improve mental health for anyone, but it’s extra important for those with certain psychological disorders. Emotional support animals are pets that help someone with specific mental conditions, and there are many misconceptions about ESAs.

Emotional Support Animals are Service Animals

One of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to ESAs is confusing them for service animals. There are many differences between an emotional support animal and a service animal regarding their purpose and where they are allowed. An emotional support animal is a special type of companion animal for those with qualifying psychological conditions. They are different from service animals and therapy pets.

ESA Training

Emotional support animals help reduce stress and anxiety in their owners, through their calming presence. They do not need any formal training besides basic obedience to behave in public. Service animals, on the other hand, go through extensive training to perform specific tasks and functions for their disabled owners, who are typically physically disabled rather than mentally.  It’s much harder to get a service animal, as they must pass many certifications to qualify as a service animal.

ESA Rights

Another common misconception about emotional support animals is that they’re allowed to accompany their owners into non-pet friendly places like restaurants and grocery stores. Emotional support animals can live in housing that does not permit pets and can fly with their owners in the cabin of an aircraft without a pet fee. They have no additional rights in public areas. Service animals are allowed to accompany their disabled owners in any space open to the general public, including restaurants, movie theatres, schools, and museums.

Any Type of ESA can Fly with their Owner

While service animals can only be dogs and miniature horses, any animal can technically be an emotional support animal. Many therapists only recognize the therapeutic benefit of dogs and cats, however. For the safety and convenience of other passengers, many airlines are updating their policies to only allow cats and dogs as emotional support animals. Cats and dogs are more easily trainable. In the past, airlines permitted any type of ESA, but this is changing.

Emotional support animals are an important mental health tool for those with common psychological conditions like anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. They help their owners cope with the symptoms of their disability, reducing stress and anxiety. Many people confuse emotional support animals with service animals, and there are many misconceptions about what an ESA is and where they are allowed to go with their owners. The two main rights emotional support animals have is housing and travel, where service animals are allowed to go nearly anywhere with their disabled owners and are highly trained to perform tasks.

Nicole Millar – “Favours”

NICOLE MILLAR UNVEILS NEW SINGLE “FAVOURS”

WATCH HERE

LISTEN HERE

Slick, sultry and laden with sass, “Favours” is the much-anticipated follow up to Nicole Millar’s 2018 debut album Excuse Me, which spawned the viral hit “Blindfolded” (8 million+ combined streams) and ARIA Gold-accredited single “Tremble” (11 million+ combined streams). Flanked by warped synths and Millar’s signature croons, “Favours” is a slice of unapologetic pop savagery and marks the debut of a bold new era.

Both cheeky yet deeply personal, the song addresses a darker period of Millar’s life where she encountered both loss and heartbreak.

“I had a bit of a rough year with a lot of changes,” she reveals. “‘Favours’ is a song about how I’ve got no praise, or money left for this person.”

It was only natural to navigate towards those she trusted, recruiting past collaborators Muki and Kilter to bring her message to life.

“[Muki and I] really hit it off and couldn’t stop talking about everything that had been going on in our lives. It just became clear to write a song about this person that had made my life dull… but have a cheeky bounce to it.”

The song also sees Millar embrace a darker, more mature edge which fans have yet to be privy.

“I’ve been calling my music smooth, dark chocolate with hints of mint,” she laughs.

‘Favours’ will be the first of a series of new material from Nicole Millar; it’s grittier, more candid and empowered than ever. In her own words: “Don’t let someone walk all over you and manipulate you. Do exactly what your gut says, and own it.”

Houston Astros – Apology

Nonpologies and Missed Opportunities: The Damaging Responses to a Crisis

By Sean O’Meara

When Houston Astros assistant general manager Brandon Taubman put the final period on the final sentence of his apology statement for remarks he made toward three sports journalists in October 2019, he probably thought he’d done a good job.

Taubman probably read the statement back to himself and checked off in his head all the points he wanted to make; including what a great guy Brandon Taubman is (“Those that know me know that I am a progressive and charitable member of the community, and a loving and committed husband and father”) and how the Sports Illustrated report about his behaviour doesn’t reflect that (“the Sports Illustrated article does not reflect who I am or my values”.

Now that the dust has settled on the Houston Astros Brandon Taubman controversy, we’re able to reflect on what team leadership could have done better.

Astros management had already tried to deny the accusations on behalf of Taubman and did what a lot of organizations under fire do; they attempted to muddy the waters with a half-baked public statement, accusing the reporters of ‘fabrication’ in the process. And Taubman’s subsequent ‘apology’ was only necessary because other journalists had corroborated the allegations against him.

That Taubman or indeed the Astros put out a statement with such audacious levels of equivocation is a very bad reflection on their crisis planning. The fact that Taubman ended up getting fired and the Astros ended up apologising for how they handled the scandal, is a bad reflection on the organization’s leadership.

Here’s Taubman’s apology in full.

“This past Saturday, during our clubhouse celebration, I used inappropriate language for which I am deeply sorry and embarrassed. In retrospect, I realized that my comments were unprofessional and inappropriate,”

“My overexuberance in support of a player has been misinterpreted as a demonstration of a regressive attitude about an important social issue. Those that know me know that I am a progressive and charitable member of the community, and a loving and committed husband and father. I hope that those who do not know me understand that the Sports Illustrated article does not reflect who I am or my values. I am sorry if anyone was offended by my actions.”

Taubman’s nonpology did more damage than not saying anything would have done. There’s equivocating, weasly, nonpologies, and there’s whatever this is. Taubman actually manages to weaponise the language of contrition in attack against the journalists, while simultaneously giving himself a glowing character reference; “I am a progressive and charitable member of the community, and a loving and committed husband and father.”

It was no real surprise that it didn’t wash. By apologizing in this manner, Taubman effectively questioned the integrity of the journalists who reported his remarks. Any communications advisor would caution against that course of action. It’s dangerous for a number of reasons, not least because it adds an extra layer of complexity to the situation and provides another thing to apologize for when you’re found out to be wrong. But then, this is exactly what Astros did as an organization when they implied that the journalists were mischief-making with their accusations.

The Astros were the next to find themselves apologizing. But not before they’d fired Taubman. Owner Jim Crane wrote a personal letter to Stephanie Apstein copping to a momentous lapse of judgement.

“On behalf of the entire Astros organization, I want to personally apologize for the statement we issued on Monday October 21st.

“We were wrong and I am sorry that we initially questioned your professionalism. We retract that statement, and I assure you that the Houston Astros will learn from this experience.”

The really frustrating thing here is that the above is an example of a good apology. In The Apology Impulse, a book I co-authored with renowned psychologist Professor Sir Cary Cooper, we examined what makes a good apology and what makes a bad one.

There were abundant examples of the latter of scant examples of the former. Had this apology, with its frank concession of fault, assurances that they will do better and the notable lack of equivocation, been given as we were writing the book, and had it not been given as the humiliating culmination of evasive accountability avoiding behaviour and victim smearing, it would have been a case study for how to say sorry. In other words, had the Astros’ first apology been this frank and direct, they wouldn’t have needed to make multiples, and Taubman may still have had his job.

The Taubman affair is best characterised as a litany of missed opportunities. Taubman had the opportunity to apologize properly for his outburst. He missed it. The Astros had the opportunity to apologize on his behalf. They had the opportunity to retain his services had they managed to contain the fall-out from his original remarks. The only opportunities he grasped with both hands were the opportunities to sack Taubman and the opportunity to withdraw their accusations against the journalists. Neither reflect particularly well on the organization.

Traveling with a pet over the holidays?

Make sure you’re up-to-date on all the rules and regulations around travel with your pet! Just this year, Delta revoked a rule that animals could not accompany passengers on flights 8 hours or longer, with the exception of Pitbulls.

“Flying and traveling stirs immense anxiety in some people, and leaving home without their Emotional Support Animal or pet can be traumatizing. It’s great that Delta and other airlines continue to recognize the importance of allowing travel on their aircrafts.” – Prairie Conlon, LMHP and Clinical Director at CertaPet

While the debate wages on over whether Emotional Support Animal’s are considered legitimate, CertaPet emphasizes that their clients must complete a clinical evaluation, as well as a therapy session, before a licensed mental health professional determines whether they need an ESA letter. CertaPet therapists only write ESA letters for dogs, cats, and rabbits. And in fact, CertaPet sees a ~25% increase in the need for an Emotional Support Animal during the holidays. Most airlines charge a fee ($100+) for small, regular pets (non-ESA’s) to fly with you as a carry-on. ESA’s are protected by law and require no additional fee to travel as a carry-on.
