KID CUDI – Entergalactic

GRAMMY Award-winning multiplatinum sonic visionary, artist, producer, actor and director Kid Cudi has announced a pre-save for his anxiously awaited tenth full-length album and one of the most anticipated projects of 2022, Entergalactic. In addition to the pre-save, Cudi and NETFLIX also revealed the official trailer for the project. The show and the album will be released on September 30.

Cudi commented, Entergalactic is everything I’ve always wanted to do, create a long-form visual companion to an album. It all started with the music which helped bring this storyline and these characters to life. Entergalactic is unlike anything I’ve ever done, certainly my most ambitious project to date; I can’t wait for you to finally experience it.

He initially set the stage for the album with “Do What I Want.” Right out of the gate, it amassed 11.7 million Spotify streams and counting. Beyond plugs from HYPEBEASTXXLNME, and more, Stereogum proclaimed, ‘Do What I Want’ is a chilled-out track with an even, skittering beat with Cudi rolling through lyrics about feeling settled and creatively powerful.

Cudi also serves as an EP on Entergalactic alongside Kenya Barris, through their respective production companies Mad Solar and Khalabo Ink Society.

Kid Cudi is about to complete the North American leg of his To the Moon – 2022 World Tour. He closes it out with a bang, performing a hometown gig in Cleveland, OH for his own Moon Man’s Landing Festival. In the Fall, “To The Moon” travels to the Toyosu PIT in Japan and all over Europe, including The O2 in London, Verti Music Hall in Berlin, AFAS Live in Amsterdam, Palais 12 in Brussels, and the Zenith in Paris, with Milan closing out the tour at Fabrique on November 22. The full confirmed itinerary below.

MARVEL’S DARK WEB

This December, the two most famous wronged clones of the Marvel Universe will team up to take back what’s theirs! Madelyne Pryor, AKA the Goblin Queen, and Ben Reilly, now known as Chasm, will reignite an Inferno that will send Spider-Man and the X-Men into a spiral in DARK WEB! And they won’t be the only ones feeling the flames of Maddie and Ben’s revenge! In addition to the launch of the opening one-shot, December will bring on a series of tie-in issues and limited series and fans can get the full scoop right now!

The saga will be bookended by two one-shots, subtitled DUSK and DAWN, written by current Amazing Spider-Man scribe Zeb Wells and drawn by superstar artist Adam Kubert. DARK WEB #1 will reveal the true scope of Madelyne and Ben’s wicked alliance, what it means for Spider-Man and the X-Men, and the surprising role Venom will play. The sun is setting, dusk is approaching, and it’s going to be a long night.

Zeb Wells will continue the story in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #15 and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #16 with legendary artist Ed McGuinness. Peter Parker will have his hands full with back to back showdowns, starting with Venom. Find out exactly why Venom is helping Chasm and then, it’s time for the main event. That’s right, it’s Peter Parker vs. Ben Reilly, no-holds-barred in the craziest battle you’ve ever seen! Chasm secures his place in Spidey’s rogues’ gallery…as the one who finally vanquishes Peter Parker?!

December will also see the launch of DARK WEB: X-MEN, a three-issue limited series by X-Men writer Gerry Duggan and acclaimed New Mutants artist Rod Reis. In DARK WEB: X-MEN #1, chaos reigns in the streets of New York City as demon hordes pour forth from the realm of Limbo…a realm that until recently was ruled by Magik.  A realm now ruled by Cyclops’ ex. Also, Havok’s ex.  Also, a clone of Jean. The X-Men wade into the fray by taking on some of their darker history as the Goblin Queen returns for vengeance! The not-so-happy reunions continue in DARK WEB: X-MEN #2. Some reunions – like those with an evil ex who rules a dimension of demons – are not so great. Sometimes even having your AMAZING FRIENDS at your side isn’t enough to save things.

From Sabir Pirzada, known for his work on Marvel’s Voices and Ms. Marvel on Disney+, and artist Francesco Mortarino in his exciting Marvel Comics debut comes a bold and badass new vision of Ms. Marvel! Fresh off her first few weeks working as an intern at Oscorp, Ms. Marvel finds herself as the last line of defense against a bunch of deadly and dangerous experiments going haywire thanks to Maddie and Ben’s demonic machinations! Things get even worse when Kamala finds herself in Limbo, with no choice but to fight her way out!

“I could not be more thrilled to return to Kamala’s world after writing her in Marvel’s Voices: Identity and getting a chance to help introduce her to the small screen on Disney+,” Pirzada told Newsarama. “This time around, Kamala’s facing a new challenge: the dangers of Limbo! And a few familiar faces – friends and foes – are bound to make some surprise appearances on this adventure!”

In Al Ewing and Bryan Hitch’s VENOM #14, secrets are revealed! LQQK Studio × Reebok

Today, design collective LQQK Studio and Reebok have unveiled their first official collaboration featuring two iterations (GY7109/GY7110, $120) of the iconic Classic Leather. Available in unisex sizing, both pairs launch September 16 exclusively from LQQKSTUDIO.COM, followed by a September 21 global release for the “green camo” colorway (GY7110) from Reebok.com and select retailers. LQQK invites consumers to 109 Montrose Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y. for a special event Friday, September 16 through Monday September 19, 12:00pm EST – 7:00pm EST, where they’ll have early access to the LQQK-exclusive Classic Leather (GY7109) colorway, with complimentary food, beverage, and promo apparel to be provided.

Brooklyn-based screen printer and design collective LQQK Studio has put its own creative spin on Reebok’s most well-known silhouette, the Classic Leather, resulting in printing-inspired shoe that people of all backgrounds can connect to, while encouraging creativity and evolution.

“Reebok is a classic brand that holds a special place in a lot of people’s hearts,” commented LQQK Studio Founder Alex Dondero. “I think streetwear functions in a funny way that creates a uniform that people subconsciously fall into, so it’s important to constantly evolve, and Reebok is willing to embrace that.”  

Reflecting the studio’s deep roots in street culture, art, and fashion, LQQK’s Classic Leather offers a leaf-printed camouflage design over a white gum outsole. The first pair arrives in ‘bubble gum’ and ‘pine green’, with the latter done in ‘wild brown’ and ‘bright ochre’, with both featuring detailed LQQK branding at the tongue, window box, and heel.

“When we designed this shoe, we wanted a printed pattern to be the main focus,” continued Dondero. “We didn’t want to make a white shoe that doesn’t push the envelope. That’s how we came up with this wild printed pattern shoe… The Printer’s Shoe!”

This year IMG curated an informative yet immersive activation, GLAM SLAM. Thus far, it’s been the most insightful engagement for a myriad of reasons. Rosario Dawson stopped by La Bodega Baque – a curated bodega experience that celebrates the unstoppable spirit of the Latinx community and entrepreneurs with a curated collection by one of streetwear’s most significant voices and philanthropist, Angelo Baque and presented by UPS and AWAKE NY.

Today at ‘Glam Slam’ – a fashion and tennis experience, presented by IMG and Spring Studios, Serena Williams joined Nikki Ogunnaike for an exclusive 20- minute Q&A followed by an fashion showcase and fall fashion collection preview of curated looks from her S by Serena brand. The GOAT discussed being a mom; retirement and her new found “freedom,” learning from her sister Venus; and finding a work / life balance. Following the show, guests were able to shop the S by Serena retail pop-up.

Taking place during two of New York’s biggest tentpole franchises, the US Open and New York Fashion Week, Glam Slam was created to celebrate the intersection of tennis and style through a series of tennis match screenings, fashion panels, culinary offerings and DJ sets on the Rooftop Terrace of Spring Studios in Tribeca. IMG and Spring Studios partnered with Chase Sapphire for the inaugural event to develop unique program spanning fashion and sports, combining the best of both worlds and powered by On Location.

FASHION BOMB DAILY

This FBD presentation, hosted by Eva Pigford, was helmed by Harvard graduate and famous blogger Claire Sulmers. It offers a sneak peek into who’s next up in all things beauty and style while being surrounded by a small crowd of culture curators (Kevin E. Taylor, Vaughn Lowery) celebrities (Vivica A. Multi-Platinum entertainer Kane Brown, releases his third studio album, Different Man, today (listen here).  The 17-track album features previously released songs “Grand,” #1 song “Like I Love Country Music,” “Whiskey Sour,” #1 hit “One Mississippi,” “Leave You Alone” and features from Blake Shelton and his wife Katelyn Brown.  The album showcases production work from Brown himself along with Dann Huff, Andrew Goldstein, Lindsay Rimes and Ilya Toshinskiy. In celebration of the release, Brown releases the music video for “Thank God,” a loving duet with his wife Katelyn Brown (watch here).

Brown has already been in full swing with promotion for the album. At the end of last month, he made history with his debut performance of his smash hit single “Grand” on the MTV VMA stage marking him as the first male country artist to hit the iconic stage (watch here).  Brown will continue his release week with a two nights on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (9/13 & 9/14). Kane’s previously announced performance on Good Morning America will be rescheduled for a later date.  Brown spoke with The New York Times for a profile and was featured in the Los Angeles Times Fall Music Preview.

Brown’s latest single, “Like I Love Country Music” reached #1 on the Country Radio charts last month. The accolade earned Brown his eighth chart-topping record on the Country Radio charts. Brown, who has garnered nearly 12 billion career streams to date, also earns his fastest rising single with “Like I Love Country Music.” Additionally, “Like I Love Country Music” topped the Australian and Canadian radio charts, marking Brown’s first 7-week run at the top of the Canadian charts.

Brown will be kicking off his global Drunk or Dreaming Tour on September 17, which will include his first touring dates to Australia and New Zealand as well as his long-awaited return to Canada, Europe and the US. Just announced earlier this week, the US leg of the tour will kick off in Grand Rapids, MI on March 16, 2023 and hit 23 US cities along the way before wrapping in Greenwood Village, CO at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 10. During the tour, Brown will perform his first solo headlining arena show at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on March 31.  Tickets for Drunk or Dreaming are on sale now. IMG Fashion Events, a subsidiary of Endeavor, and Spring Studios, the creative agency for fashion, beauty and culture, and the home of New York Fashion Week: The Shows, announces the creation of a new consumer event: ‘Glam Slam’ – a fashion and tennis experience. The ‘Glam Slam’ will take place Thursday, September 8 – Monday, September 12, 2022, on the Rooftop Terrace of Spring Studios in Tribeca. For the inaugural event, IMG and Spring Studios have partnered with Chase Sapphire to develop a unique program that spans both fashion and sports, combining the best of both worlds.

The ’Glam Slam,’ which takes place during two of New York’s biggest tentpole franchises, the final Tennis major of the year and New York Fashion Week, will celebrate the intersection of tennis and style through a series of daily programming, screenings and hospitality. IMG’s in-house production agency, FOCUS, will produce a full- size tennis court on the roof top of Spring Studios that will serve as the event location for ‘Glam Slam.’

The ‘Glam Slam’ will feature five days of screenings, fashion presentations, limited merch collaborations and appearances from A-list tennis and fashion stars, allowing consumers to experience an exclusive slice of both tennis and fashion during these two quintessential NYC moments. The Glam Slam’ line-up includes IMG Tennis, a division of WME Sports, client, Maria Sharapova, among other tennis stars to be announced, and the fashion industry’s most stylish tennis enthusiasts including Laura BrownCynthia Rowley and Maison Kitsuné, with additional talent to be announced.
