LISTEN TO THEIR RENDITION OF THE NEIL YOUNG CLASSIC HERE

FOLKOCRACY ARRIVES VIA BMG ON FRIDAY, JUNE 2

PRE-ORDERS AVAILABLE NOW HERE

2x GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright shares “Harvest (feat. Andrew Bird & Chris Stills),” available now at all DSPs and streaming services. This interpretation of a Neil Young classic heralds Wainwright’s eagerly awaited new album, Folkocracy, a star-studded collection of folk music reinventions arriving Friday, June 2 via BMG in a range of formats including digital download, CD, and vinyl. Pre-orders are available now HERE.

“The music of Neil Young has been part of my entire life. What has always drawn me to him are his lyrics. I think that lyrics are often underrated in today’s music. But then of course with Neil Young you also get these absolutely iconic melodies and the sound quality of his albums is simply amazing. He is the full package.

To record Harvest was a pure joy. I had never sung with Andrew or recorded with him playing the violin and he is so inherently musical that it feels so natural to sing such a sophisticated song with him. And it was amazing to include my old friend Chris Stills on this track who probably was fed Neil Young’s voice with his mother’s milk. Chris has one of the most beautiful voices I have heard and his harmonizing is absolutely delicious.”

David Byrne),” a gorgeous, expertly harmonized take on The Mamas & The Papas’ “Twelve-Thirty (Young Girls Are Coming To The Canyon)” featuring Sheryl Crow, Susannah Hoffs, and Chris Stills, and the album-closing “Wild Mountain Thyme,” a song Wainwright grew up singing with his sisters, Martha Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche, both of whom join him on the new rendition along with aunt Anna McGarrigle, cousin Lily Lanken, and close family friend Chaim Tannenbaum, the latter playing Rufus’s late mother Kate McGarrigle’s iconic banjo.

“The older I get, the more I appreciate how valuable my folk knowledge is, to have had it ingrained in me as a child,” Wainwright says. “I’m from a bona fide folkocracy who mixed extensively with other folkocracies such as the Seegers and the Thompsons. I spun off into opera and pop. Now I’m back where it all began.”

Rolls-Royce Dawn via 360 magazine.

Rolls-Royce Dawn

Heading into the Sunset

After concluding delivery of Dawn commissions to the United States concluded in 2022, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars today signals the end of a glorious era as it ceases production Rolls-Royce Dawn, the iconic drop head. In this retrospective, the marque reflects on the best-selling drophead in the brand’s history as it takes its own unique place in the pantheon of great Rolls-Royce motor cars.

CONTEMPORARY GLAMOUR AND ROMANCE

Following the success of Phantom VII, and its stablemates Phantom Coupé and Phantom Drophead Coupé, an increasingly youthful, universally self-confident and sociable client base was drawn to the Rolls-Royce brand. These new super-luxury consumers required a motor car that, like the first transformative models of Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood era, captured the glamour and romance of super-luxury motoring; but did so in a fashion completely in tune with their contemporary tastes and lifestyles.

EXQUISITE ELEGANCE PAIRED WITH LUXURIOUS COMFORT

‘La dolce vita’ was a life filled with passion, adventure and romance. It was sensuous and sensual, a celebration of decadence, indulgence and pleasure in all its forms. It was this spirit that Rolls-Royce wanted to capture in its new drophead, expressed through timeless form language, contemporary craft and an effortless yet potent dynamic character.

The boldness of that vision was reflected in Dawn’s design. Its pure, simple form was inspired by fifties and sixties fashion, which evoked glamour by removing superfluous lines and textures, focussing instead on how it amplified the form of the wearer. Similarly, Dawn’s supple, flowing coachwork wraps around its occupants akin to raising a collar on an overcoat, affording those inside a cossetting, private and chic cabin experience.

In creating Dawn, 80% of the panels were entirely unique, including a ‘wake channel’ on the bonnet emanating from the Spirit of Ecstasy, evoking the sensation of quietly gathering energy while provisioning drivers with a permanent vanishing point – a design feature that endures on Rolls-Royce motor cars today.

However, in one vital respect, Dawn broke with a long-established automotive design convention. Almost without exception, convertibles are designed in a 2+2 configuration, with full-size seating for the driver and one passenger in the front, plus two smaller seats for occasional passengers or children in the rear. The lack of rear-seat space, and particularly legroom, reduces the car’s comfort and practicality – a shortcoming Rolls-Royce refused to accept. Dawn was therefore a full four-seater with comfortable, individual seating for all occupants.

A MODEL TESTING PROGRAMME

In quintessential Rolls-Royce style, engineers spent months optimizing the convertible experience with an exhaustive testing program – neither eliminating airflow completely nor permitting disruptive levels into the cabin. To achieve this, the test subject was a modified mannequin provisioned with a wig of long, flowing hair. It was chauffeured for hundreds of hours, while a bank of sensors and cameras faithfully recorded how the hair was displaced by the moving air. The resulting data enabled engineers to make Dawn the world leader in aerodynamic comfort with the roof open.

Indeed, during a product experience later in Dawn’s life, an American journalist passed through an area as it was struck by an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale, followed by a 2.7 aftershock; such was the smoothness of the ride, he learned of this only when he read about it in the press the following morning. [1]

BLACK BADGE DAWN

In 2017, Rolls-Royce added Black Badge Dawn to its model family. Like the Ghost and Wraith that preceded it, Dawn’s alter ego derived its character from a series of engineering and design treatments. An entirely new exhaust system added a bass baritone quality to the engine note. While appealing to the rebel spirit that attracts so many to this noire expression of the brand, Black Badge Dawn created its own singular place in the Rolls-Royce Pantheon – one characterized by the romance and seduction of the city at night.

A LASTING LEGACY

Beyond its desirability, Dawn brought the spirit of ‘la dolce vita’ to Rolls-Royce’s contemporary brand promise through an exquisite marriage of seductive design, contemporary materials, and a social, open-air driving experience. In doing so, Dawn has ensured its legacy by compelling an entirely new generation to the marque.

Grace and Golf

Grace and Golf was written by Thomas Buckley, who won an international golf tournament in Turkey in 2016. Thomas’s cousin Phil, who is the family historian, encouraged writing the story of his victory in 2018. At first, Thomas had no interest in writing a story about himself but eventually realized that God wanted them to write the story as it was about overcoming adversity through God’s grace, redemption, and living with purpose.

Thomas had a challenging childhood due to an alcoholic father and turned to drugs and alcohol as a means of coping at age 12. Although Thomas excelled at sports, including golf, substance abuse took over his life, leading him to stop playing sports altogether.

A month before his 19th birthday, Thomas’s parents sent him to a treatment center for help. Although Thomas experienced some setbacks early on, he has been able to maintain sobriety for over 42 years.

The book details specific moments of grace in Thomas’s life that allowed his victory in the Turkish Airlines World Amateur Golf Championship Open to come to fruition.

One specific moment of grace covered in the book is when Thomas got divorced after nearly 18 years of not drinking. He explains how he almost returned to drinking one perilous night after his divorce but instead went to get help at a local church. That night he met a man and that meeting changed the entire trajectory of Thomas’ life culminating in a private audience with St. Pope John Paul II in the Vatican in Rome.

The book also features several golf stories that highlight famous courses from around the world that Thomas has been blessed to play as well as the relationships Thomas has been blessed to make due to living his life for others.

The book comes to a close with a chapter where Thomas reveals the top 10 lessons he has learned in his life.

While the book may resonate the most with golfers, it will speak to anyone who is looking for ways to cope with the various difficulties and challenges of life. Thomas hopes the reader will enjoy his spiritual journey around some of the most magnificent golf courses in the world.

Michelle Goni, MD

My father immigrated from Spain to the United States of America in his late forties. He was a Renaissance-type man: multilingual, culturally astute, well-versed in world history and Spanish literature, a self-taught pianist, educator, and poet. Being fifty-two years older than me, our age gap, generational differences, and communication issues led to many misunderstandings. He had a difficult time assimilating to American culture, and I was a prime teen in the eighties. I adopted the role of pleaser to win his rare praises, but it was never enough. Compliments were few. As the patriarch, he led sternly and expected nothing less than perfection.

Writing was an escape from my rigid, sometimes stoic, home. Poetry was the genre I gravitated to perhaps because it was unstructured, evoked emotions, and incorporated rhythm. I told my father that I wanted to be a writer “when I grew up” but he responded that the idea was nonsense and that my only two options were to become a doctor or lawyer. It was after this conversation that I stopped sharing my poetry with him. For my father, doing well academically equated to success, and this took precedence over anything else. I defined my performances; in school, piano, tennis, and/or learning a third language, the result was synonymous with what I was going to be. This was the start of years of perfectionism, limiting beliefs, searching for belonging, and lacking self-love. Despite these obstacles, the love and respect I had for my father was immeasurable, as was the pain I felt when he passed away during my junior year of college.

One of the main inspirational leaders who helped me transform my thought processes is clinical researcher, professor, and author Dr. Brené Brown. She states that “courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” I made a conscious choice to be seen, and in my forties, I started writing again. This eventually led to a retrograde analysis of my life, and this book was born. Roses and Thorns is a memoir-esque compilation of life stories written in prose poetry format that gives all of us permission to fear, fail, and feel pain. But it also embraces growth, evolution, and being multi-hyphenate. If I had waited for the messy to disappear from my life, I would have never enjoyed the beautiful.

Roses and Thorns is meant to inspire the reader to spark internal dialogue through the use of emotionally provoking poetry. Most of the poems in my book are personal stories. Some are raw and painful, like the thorns on a rose. I have known grief, failure, impossible self-imposted expectations, and emotional abuse. I also share beautiful moments of self-awareness, hope, appreciation, and evolution like the sprouting, colorful petals on a rose.

Life is beautiful, and life is messy. In a universe whose laws of energy constantly shift toward balance, it should be accepted that both can coexist. Normalizing vulnerability and sharing our stories, emotions, and thoughts is the spark to loving our lives and finding relatable connections.

Ticketmaster Controversy

Ticketmaster Crowned the Royal Pain of Coronation: The Controversial Reign of a Ticketing Empire

In the run-up to the much-anticipated British Coronation, Ticketmaster, the global ticketing behemoth, finds itself under fire from the British public. For some, Ticketmaster is a household name and the go-to platform for purchasing event tickets. For others, it is a controversial brand with a love-hate relationship. So, who is Ticketmaster, and what do they do? More importantly, why have they become such a polarizing figure in the entertainment industry?

Ticketmaster was founded in 1976 by Albert Leffler, Peter Gadwa, Gordon Gunn III, and Charles H Hamby Jr. and has since grown to become one of the largest ticket sales and distribution companies worldwide. The company provides a platform for event organizers to sell tickets to live events, such as concerts, sporting events, and theatrical productions.

Ticketmaster has been a subject of controversy for various reasons, including:

High service fees: Ticketmaster is infamous for charging customers additional fees on top of the face value of the tickets, sometimes adding up to 30% or more. This practice has left many customers frustrated and looking for alternative ticketing platforms.

Monopolistic practices: Ticketmaster has been accused of monopolizing the ticketing industry, as it controls a significant portion of the market. Critics argue that this has led to a lack of competition, resulting in higher prices and limited consumer choice.

Legal disputes: Ticketmaster has faced numerous legal battles, including lawsuits over their pricing practices and antitrust concerns.

Bots and scalpers: Ticketmaster’s platform has been criticized for its vulnerability to bots and scalpers, who buy large quantities of tickets and resell them at inflated prices. This issue leaves genuine fans struggling to obtain tickets at face value.

Despite the controversies, Ticketmaster remains a go-to choice for many due to its wide range of event offerings and user-friendly platform. However, recent public outcry surrounding the British Coronation ticket sales has rekindled the debate about the company’s practices.

James Collins, CEO of CheapoTicketing, weighed in on the situation, stating, “The public’s frustration with Ticketmaster is understandable, especially during high-profile events like the Coronation. The industry needs to prioritize consumer needs and offer a more transparent, accessible, and fair ticketing experience.”

As the British Coronation approaches, the spotlight on Ticketmaster’s controversial practices intensifies. The question remains whether the company will take steps to address these concerns or continue to rule its ticketing empire amidst ongoing criticism.

MIKE BAHÍA RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM “CONTIGO” announced via 360 MAGAZINE.

MIKE BAHÍA – CONTIGO

MIKE BAHÍA
RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM
“CONTIGO”

The album completes the “Navegando Contento Contigo” discographic trilogy that Bahía began in 2019 with “Navegando,” and features the previously released singles “La Falta,” “El Egoísmo,” “De Qué Manera,” and “Mi Pecadito” feat. Greeicy, as well as the Colombian superstar’s latest single “Corazón.”

Stream “Contigo” now on digital platforms.

Following the outstanding success of Amantes Tour: Kai, the incredible U.S. tour he realized with Greeicy, as well as the release of multiple popular singles, today Latin Grammy winner Mike Bahía, one of the most prominent artists in the urban pop scene, returns with his highly anticipated new album “Contigo.” The album is the third and final installment in the discographic trilogy that he initiated in 2019 with the release of “Navegando.”

Featuring the crisp production and co-writing of two-time Grammy nominee and four-time Latin Grammy nominee Keityn, the man who recently brought Karol G and Shakira to the top of the global music charts, as well as the contributions of the team at La Creme, “Contigo” sees Bahía channeling the power of human connection, sharing relatable stories of romance, pain, and heartache that will leave fans yearning for more from their favorite music star.

While “Contigo” without a doubt captures the brilliant positive energy and infectious spirit for which the acclaimed artist has become recognized by both listeners and press around the world, overflowing with intoxicating tropical vibes that echo the refreshing breeze of the Caribbean sea, Bahía also explores the darker side of life and love on this rich 12-track project, demonstrating striking vulnerability especially on his latest single “Corazón.”

“Contigo” also includes the previously released singles “La Falta,” the powerful, statement-making release with regional Mexican star Carin León; the undeniably irresistible “El Egoísmo” featuring Keityn and rising Colombian singer and songwriter Dekko; “De Qué Manera,” the salsa song with which Bahía pays tribute to his hometown of Cali, Colombia; and of course, “Mi Pecadito” featuring Greeicy, the song with which he experiments with the sensual sounds of bachata, fusing the genre with the vibrant tropical rhythms that have come to define his work over the years.

Bahía shares, “‘CONTIGO’ is actually just what it says. I made this album WITH YOU, with who is listening to me…Everything that exists, what I’ve done throughout my career, I’ve done with wonderful people; I haven’t done it alone. From the composition, the song creation, the mixing, the musicians, the promotion, the fans…It’s an energy that’s being transmitted. This isn’t done alone. I have to represent and carry the inertia of the wave, but in the end, this is something that spreads to a team of many people who give me energy, who give it energy, and who give life to this project. That’s why I love it.”

“Contigo” completes the extraordinary discographic trilogy that Bahía began with the release of his first song in 2014 and his first album “Navegando” in 2019, and that he then continued with the release of “Contento” in 2021. Together, the titles of these three albums form the phrase “Navegando Contento Contigo,” a name and concept that serve as a reflection of—and dedication to—the incredible journey that is his musical career and the people who have supported him thus far, including his team, his fans, and his family.

One of the hottest Colombian stars in Latin music today, Mike Bahía’s unique style and charming persona have won him a massive base of dedicated fans that spans the globe. With more than 7 million subscribers on social media, and more than 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, he is becoming a global icon, spreading joy and good vibes through his music. To date, his captivating music videos have collectively attained more than 1 billion views on YouTube, an impressive number that will only continue to rise higher as time goes on.
