Issam Alnajjar – Baree

Just over one year after he released his debut single “Hadal Ahbek,” which quickly changed his life forever and launched him into the global mainstream, Jordanian pop phenomenon Issam Alnajjar drops his debut album, Baree? [Innocent? In English], out today—listen HERE. 360 Magazine is amazed how worldwide artists are impacting different audiences in every corner of the world.

The 14-track album features the worldwide viral hit, as well as several re-imagined versions of the song and nine new tracks, all written and recorded by the buzzing 18-year-old singer/songwriter and inspired by his journey of unprecedented success over the past year. Not to mention, Baree? includes his latest hit—“Si Tu Vuelas (Hadal Ahbek)” featuring Mexican superstar Danna Paola and Brazilian artist, DJ, and producer Alok—watch the video released earlier this week HERE.

Over the course of the past year, “Hadal Ahbek” has amassed over 46 million Spotify streams and 3 billion sound views on TikTok, while the official video has garnered 13 million views and the live performance video has over 90 million views. Following the original release, Issam teamed up with Loud Luxury and Ali Gatie on their collaboration “Turning Me Up (Hadal Ahbek),” which has 22 million-plus Spotify streams to date. The song peaked on the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart at #19 and Billboard Canada CHR/Top 40 Chart at #5, where it has been in the Top 10 for ten weeks. Not to mention, he joined forces with R3HAB for “Hadal Ahbek” (R3HAB Club Remix), and then followed it up with two new singles, “Mn Gheirik Enti” and “Hada Ghareeb” featuring Palestinian-Chilean artist Elyanna.

The 18-year-old singer, songwriter, and guitarist has made history with “Hadal Ahbek,” as it is the first Arabic song to explode worldwide as a viral #1 hit. Upon release, the track peaked at #1 on Spotify’s US and Global Viral 50 Charts and Shazam’s Top 200 Global Chart, as well as reached Top 20 spots on Apple Music’s Global Hits and Viral Hits Playlists. On the international stage, it hit #1 on Spotify’s Viral Chart in 25 local markets, including UK, Canada, Germany, France, and Mexico, and #1 on Shazam’s Top 200 Chart in 24 local markets. The irresistible bop has arrived as a cross-continental anthem and cements Issam Alnajjar as an international artist to watch in 2021. You can learn more about Issam’s story HERE.

MUST-SEE EXHIBITS AND INSTALLATIONS

Revolution Max Engine (on display now)

The brand-new Revolution® Max 1250cc engine powers a new generation of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. See the liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-Twin that delivers for the Pan America™ adventure touring model and the performance cruiser Sportster® S motorcycle. On view in the Museum lobby.

Clubs & Competition (on display now)

In the early part of the 20th century, motorcycle culture was a homegrown phenomenon. It grew out of the passion of riders for their evolving sport. The camaraderie that developed around riding and attending competitive events led to the formation of motorcycle clubs that hosted destination rides, family picnics with motorcycle games, and other riding competitions.

The newly reinstalled display case in the Clubs & Competition gallery highlights clothing from club members from primarily the 1930s and 1940s. The clothing selections on view include full dress uniforms, shirts, sweaters, jackets, and caps, customized by the owners with their club name and logo, and pins or patches indicating membership in the American Motorcyclist Association. The H-D Archives™’ collection includes Motorclothes® apparel sold in H-D® product catalogs but also non-H-D produced clothing items that have been proudly customized by riders.

Experience Gallery: Model Year 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycles (on display now)

Always a favorite photo opportunity for riders and non-riders alike, the H-D Museum’s Experience Gallery has been refreshed with five 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycles –including the all-new Pan America™ and the Sportster S!

Harley Fox (on display now)

Gail Anderson’s 1986 Softail® Custom motorcycle, “Harley Fox,” built by her partner Bob Burrows, took top prize at the first Ladies of Harley® (LOH) ride-in show during Daytona Beach Bike Week in 1987. With her custom bike and themed riding gear, Anderson presented a striking image that fit the growing visibility and exciting new options for women riders in the 1980s.

Alfonso Sotomayor’s 1957 Model FL (on display now)

The Harley-Davidson Museum is proud to announce its collection has recently grown with the addition of a 1957 Model FL that was ridden by famed Mexican stunt rider and racer Alfonso Sotomayor Canales.

Harley-Davidson’s history in Mexico dates back to at least 1913. In the 1920s, the brand was more frequently spotted throughout Mexico City as the motorcycles proved popular with the local traffic police who would also perform stunts with their Harley-Davidson® bikes. After racing from the 1930s into the 1960s, Sotomayor launched his own stunt riding career by performing the famed “Salto de la Muerte” or Jump of Death. Learn more about Sotomayor’s feats of derring-do and Harley-Davidson’s early entry into Mexico with this new display located in the Custom Culture area.

“Off-Road Harley-Davidson” (on display now)

In the decades before America paved its highways, early riders had to be prepared for all sorts of terrain: sand, clay, or dirt – and wandering those makeshift byways were Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Today, it’s called off-road or adventure touring; back then it was just called riding. Since 1903, Harley-Davidson motorcycles proved their toughness by riding over wooded hills, through stone-choked creek beds, and up mountainsides. “Off-Road Harley-Davidson,” tells the history of motorcycles designed for rough roads, the people who rode them, and the adventures they shared.

“Building a Milwaukee Icon: Harley-Davidson’s Juneau Avenue Factory” (on display now)

A recently recovered cache of architectural drawings includes plans for the original Juneau Avenue facility. The pencil drawings, along with archival photographs, demonstrate the whirlwind pace of the company’s early growth. While building an international business—going from producing just over 1,000 motorcycles in 1909 to manufacturing 27,000 motorcycles in 1920—the company’s Milwaukee factory experienced near-constant expansion. Construction through this relatively brief period created the buildings that today, a century later, are still the proud home of Harley-Davidson.

“Building a Milwaukee Icon” provides a snapshot of Harley-Davidson’s formative years and illustrates a chapter of Milwaukee history when the city was known as the “Machine Shop to the World.”

Google Arts & Culture, “An Amphibious Sidecar Tour of the Salton Sea” (on display now)

100 years ago, John Edwin Hogg and Phillip Johnston visited the Salton Sea. Their exploits earned detailed coverage in the September 1921 issue of “The Harley-Davidson Enthusiast™” magazine due to the unexpected role their Harley-Davidson® motorcycles played in the adventure.

Hotel Motto Opens in Vienna

MOTTO Group, a Vienna-based lifestyle hospitality brand, announces the opening of Hotel MOTTO in the heart of Vienna on October 2, 2021.

Hotel MOTTO is a stylized study in Renaissance and Baroque architecture with the interiors rendered in Art Deco geometric lines and accented with industrial grit. The 83 rooms and 8 suites showcase fabric-covered walls with floral patterns; custom-designed carpets and tiles are inspired by the framework of the original vintage furniture, and the herringbone hard-wood flooring is seen throughout the property. Every piece of furniture has been tailor-made for the hotel: from the brass door handles to the in-room lighting concepts have been crafted for each individual space. Central to the new property is the restaurant Chez Bernard – Restaurant et Bar, which offers a menu of eclectic dishes, a curated natural wine selection, and an extensive cocktail program.

The open-air rooftop garden and bar provide unobstructed views of the city and the adjacent vineyards while, on the ground floor, the on-property boulangerie and patisserie ‘MOTTO Brot’ invoke memories of both Vienna and Paris with a traditional outdoor terrace the locals call ‘Schanigarten’. The exciting mix of opulence and simple modernity turns every space into a work of art, including the private fitness and sauna rooms as well as the meeting and event spaces with their cozy break-out living rooms that spill into the hotel’s foyer.

“Hotel MOTTO is a locally-rooted visual story. I wanted to combine the traditional Viennese architecture with the glamour of 1920s Paris, but infuse the design with some personal design touches inspired by the Scandinavian comfort and the Japanese ‘WABI SABI’ culture.”, says Bernd Schlacher, owner and creative director of the MOTTO Group. In addition to the popular, ’MOTTO am FLUSS‘ restaurant, a homonymous catering service, and the MOTTO Brot bakery, Mr. Schlacher, originally a restaurateur from Styria wanted to add a unique hospitality concept to his portfolio.

The historic building has housed hotels for over three centuries with the first property, The Golden Cross, opened in 1665. The Golden Cross morphed into Hotel Kummer in 1872 and became a social hub for artists, painters, sculptors, writers, actors, and musicians who gathered for coffee, wine, and Austrian delicacies in the hotel’s public spaces. In 1904 the building was refurbished by Ludwig Schwarz, who preserved the original slanted corners and the oversized columns that frame the lobby and entryway to the hotel. The décor of the upper floors was especially elaborate and the interiors have been partially preserved to this day, even after the allied occupation of post-World War II Vienna when the hotel was taken over by the French from 1945 to 1955.

The architecture is infused with Renaissance and Baroque nods layered with elements of the gothic and byzantine styles: towers and domes as well as the configuration of the façade, originally constructed by the top artisans of the Vienna Artisan Craft movement, are fully preserved and play a pivotal role in the layout of the property. In the realm of classical music history, Hotel MOTTO was the birth home of Josef Strauss, son of the famous composer Johann Strauss, who called the hotel home in 1827. In addition, Hotel Motto’s latest iteration, Hotel Kummer, was the setting of the celebrated John Irving’s novel The Hotel New Hampshire360 Magazine is impressed with the interior design of the new hotel and excited to see how the turnout will be for the hotel.

The on-property restaurant, Chez Bernard – Restaurant et Bar, occupies the top two floors of the hotel and sits under a gargantuan glass dome, a new addition to the original building by Arkan Zeytinoglu Architects. The brilliantly lit restaurant presents diners with a curated menu of modern Austrian dishes with French and North African influences. Chez Bernard is also an organic restaurant rooted in the idea that the ultimately culinary experience must also be a sustainable one using local, seasonal, and organic products; sourcing natural wines from continental Europe; and repurposing the leftover stale bread to brew its own beer.

The interior design of the restaurant is reminiscent of 1920s Paris with artfully arranged botanicals framing the contemporary art collection on display. The luxurious green leather booths are juxtaposed with modern wooden tables to achieve a stylish yet cozy living room atmosphere. The unexpected touch lies in the green oasis on the wrap-around roof terrace that houses a 40-seat bar and additional lounge seatings with a superb view over Vienna’s rooftops.

An overnight stay for a double room starts at $359. Further information is available at www.hotelmotto.at.

Tik Tok × Covid-19

With 732 million users worldwide, TikTok, a trending video-sharing platform, is one of today’s most popular social media networks. During the lockdown, the app’s short and amusing videos drew a lot of attention, but it was not long before cybercriminals took advantage of TikTok’s fame for their own gain.

According to the data presented by the Atlas VPN team, TikTok was the most impersonated app in Covid-19 related to Android app scams in the first half of 2021. There were a total of 88 TikTok copy-cat apps detected spreading FakeApp malware.

Malicious applications impersonating organizations that give out free laptops to students were also highly prevalent. There were 37 bogus Android laptop registration applications detected in H1 2021.

The third spot on the list is occupied by apps impersonating vaccine registration channels. Overall, 14 such malicious applications were found in the first half of this year. 360 Magazine is surprised to see this research about Tik Tok, which is widely used internationally.

Fake apps often imitate the login pages of the official apps to harvest users’ credentials and other personal data. They are typically distributed through third-party app stores, but on occasion, fake apps make it to the official Google Play store as well.

Ruth Cizynski, the cybersecurity researcher and writer at Atlas VPN, gives advice on how to recognize fake applications: “What makes fake apps so dangerous is that they are typically designed to look exactly like an official app, making them hard to spot. The best defense consumers have against falling prey to fake app downloads is knowing what to look out for. Reading the apps reviews, taking some time to research the developers, and reading the permissions agreement are just some of the things consumers should do before proceeding with an app.”

Apart from fake apps, cybercriminals have launched multiple other cyberattacks leveraging the global pandemic, including phishing campaigns, malicious URLs, as well as malware. While cyberattacks were widespread across the world, some countries suffered more than others. In total, 35.9% of such threats affected the United States in the first half of 2021. Other highly affected countries include Germany (18.9%), Colombia (10.5%), Italy (3%), and Spain (2.5%).

Difference Between a Good vs a Great Vacation

Eager travelers are increasingly convinced that getting the right help when planning a vacation is priceless in today’s confusing travel atmosphere.

Andra E. of Indiana completed her first Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park getaway in July with Austin Adventures, a Montana-based boutique tour operator. Between the pandemic and a cancer diagnosis, her journey to the perfect vacation wasn’t easy. Austin Adventures sympathetically navigated multiple rebookings for her. The result? Her highly anticipated trip exceeded expectations.

“We were looking forward to not having to make all the decisions and arrangements while exploring a large and beautiful part of the country. What we got was a great trip with guides who were knowledgeable, personable, and thoughtful. They planned out the meals and activities; they truly handled every detail. We were completely spoiled! (The Austin Adventures) team has been nothing but kind, helpful, and accommodating.”

COVID-19 aftereffects rage on in the travel industry in the form of volatile border reopenings, record-setting crowd numbers in National Parks and worldwide iconic destinations, and availability shortages due to the soaring travel comeback.

But planning experts like Active Adventures and Austin Adventures, newly merged brands as of August 2021, are proving their worth by easing the stress of traveling in today’s era.

“Our numbers are definitely showing that travelers are anxious to get back out there,” said Dan Austin, Founder of Austin Adventures. “Between January and September, we’ve seen a 200% increase in travel inquiries compared to the same period in pre-pandemic 2019. Bookings are also breaking records, up 130% over 2019.”

Active Adventures and Austin Adventures have covered all the bases of vacation planning and execution for over 60 collective years. In the last year, their time-tested expertise has proved priceless as more and more travelers turn to professionals for travel planning help.

Professionals and agents find partnering with a reliable tour operator just as valuable. Kristin Cless of Houlahan Travel concurs: “As Travel Professionals, we are extremely concerned about the safety of our clients when they are traveling. Working with Austin Adventures takes all the guesswork out of that process. We know the great lengths they go to ensure the safety and well-being of their clients and it is a huge weight off our shoulders.”

The menu of helpful services offered by tour operators and travel professionals is endless:

  • They are travelers’ number one fans and advocates. Operators and professionals are there to clean up the pieces when previous vacation plans have been destroyed and they can provide an extra layer of protection when facing confusing rebooking and cancelation conditions. What they always want for travelers is a seamless, stress-free experience from start to finish!
  • Operators and professionals alike serve as the eyes and ears on the ground at clients’ desired destinations. They are nimble navigators, in tune with the ever-changing environment, and they are vital insiders’ resources into border openings, restrictions, and inventory. When plans seem bleak, operators and professionals have a plan B, C, D, and are more ready to fill in last-minute requests.
  • Years of operating and finding time-tested good practices result in genuine expertise on how safe travel really works. Whether there is a global pandemic or not, operators and professionals know what it takes to pull off a safe vacation.
  • All logistics are handled and mapped out for groups of all traveler types: Families, adults, couples, and solo adventurers. Operators and professionals can round up all the details needed to plan high-end requests and distribute the information and paperwork needed for each traveler, making it easy to check those items off the planning list. Travelers who may have relied on their own independence when planning their getaways in the past are also increasingly recognizing the priceless value travel professionals and agents bring to the table. Having professionals and agents on their side amplifies travel planning security and confidence.

360 Magazine is excited to see so many travel options and to enjoy active adventures. The future of travel and all the requirements and planning that come along with it may continue to evolve, but help from travel professionals and tour operators is here to stay.
