Billy B + Hayes Warner

Debuting on Sirius XM Hits 1, breakout indie pop-punk star Hayes Warner has joined forces with fellow NYC-native and rapper Billy B (“Don’t Play With It”) and songwriter, producer and legendary guitarist Kevin Rudolf (“Let it Rock”) to deliver a fresh new female power anthem reimagining the 90’s No Doubt hit “Just a Girl.” The single artwork for the song was designed by UK new media artist, Christos Alamaniotis (@christos.jpeg). You can stream/download “Just A Girl” by Hayes Warner and Billy B ft. Kevin Rudolf HERE

With powerful lyrics that rail against societal norms for women, the all-star group is releasing the single timed to International Women’s Day. A portion of the single’s proceeds will be donated to Supermajority, an organization dedicated to building women’s collective political power by providing the information, training, and resources needed to take meaningful action at the local, state, and national levels.

Just as the No Doubt hit tackled themes of gender roles and autonomy, this new take captures what it’s like to be a woman in 2024 and shares similar yet different frustrations with the world. Hayes’ lyrics “nothing new to say about it, nothing’s getting through. I’ll just sing the same old chorus ‘cause that shit’s still true” showcases that while the world may look different now, women will continue to be resilient and overcome the challenges that they continue to face. Pair this with Billy B’s clever rap verse, “the boys do it good but the girls do it better,” the classic hit becomes a modernized pop-punk anthem reminding the world that women will continue to empower one another in a world that often refuses to empower them.

“Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a fan of No Doubt and Gwen Stefani,” said Hayes Warner. “Their tongue-in-cheek lyric writing and high energy performances has had a huge impact on me and my own artistry. With this new reimagined version of “Just A Girl” I wanted to honor that while creating a version that reflects my 2024 perspective. I’m so excited to collaborate with amazing artists like Billy B and Kevin Rudolf, who both add their own levels of brilliance to the track. Our version ‘Just A Girl’ was made to remind the world that women are strong and resilient. Partnering with an organization like Supermajority to release this song on International Women’s Day feels like the perfect way to bring that to life in a meaningful way that uplifts female voices.”

“We had so much fun recording this track,” noted  Billy B. “When I was first approached about this collaboration I knew immediately it was something I wanted to be a part of. I’ve been inspired by so many strong women in my life and I’m thrilled to be a voice that contributes to supporting and uplifting them.”

“I’m beyond excited to work with these amazing women and uplift their message in this impactful anthem,” said Kevin Rudolf. “Hayes and Billy are brilliant artists and I cannot wait for the rest of the world to check them out.”

Hayes has had a meteoric rise, recently signing an international publishing deal with Glassnote Records and touring with the likes of Flo Rida and Fetty Wap. In 2023, Hayes delivered a viral  girl-powered breakup anthem “Breadcrumbs” which featured artist, Loren Gray. Additionally, Hayes’ single “Dead to Me” hit over 1 million streams, proving that fans are connected and resonating with her music. Up next, Hayes is looking forward to dropping her debut EP later this year.

Billy B Q&A

Can you tell us a bit about how this collaboration came together with you, Hayes Warner, and Kevin Rudolf?

So, one day I’m on IG, being that I’m an indie artist. I check my dm’s like clockwork, lol, and I see a dm request from Hayes. She hit me up like, “hey girl, we should collaborate,” or something of the sort. Once I heard her track “Breadcrumbs” I was sold! The rest was magic!

You came through on this song with some really fun bars! What was your writing process like, and which lyric was your favorite?

Thank you! My writing process has changed over the years. I used to get wasted and vibe out to the beat until I came up with my cadence for my flow and went from there. Lol! Now that I’m in my soft girl era. I write my verses while I’m doing my morning workout once my pre workout kicks in, lol. for this specific track, I wrote it on the elliptical at LA Fitness. Since this was more of a pop track, I wanted to make sure I bring that hip-hop flare but still keep it very girly, girl. My fav lyric is definitely, “The boys do it good, but the girls do it better!”

The song samples the 90s No Doubt hit, “Just a Girl.” Did you know the song prior to working on this? If so, do you remember the first time you heard the original?

I honestly didn’t know the original song. I was in the studio with a producer friend of mine and I was telling him about me hopping on the track with Hayes and when I played it for him he was like “OH SHOOT THATS NO DOUBT JUST A GIRL SAMPLE” lol and that’s how I found out.

What is it about this song that resonates with you?

I resonate with the mellow dramatic vibe of the song. Us women literally deal with a tone of adversity daily from balancing our careers with our personal lives to figuring out what we want to eat for the day. Sometimes it can be overwhelming and you just wanna scream out “IM JUST A GIRLLL” like leave me alone loll. But we manage to get things done all while looking absolutely stunning.

Why do you think this song is still so applicable to today, and what do you hope people get from this new version?

Well girls will be girls today, tomorrow and even a 100 years from now. It’s been proven! I hope that other girls get to feel soft, girly, and completely liberated while listening to our modern twist to this classic track. Me and Hayes have an authentic bond that we’ve built off of doing something that we both love and are passionate about. I hope it inspires more women to link up and create.

The song is being released on International Women’s Day and a portion of the proceeds from the song will be donated to the organization Supermajority, which is committed to advocating for female leadership and providing women the information, training, and resources needed to take meaningful political action at the local, state, and national levels. Why was this important to you?

Supporting other women and building a community to help us all get ahead is very important to me. I am excited that some of the proceeds will be going towards a good cause.

What type of impact would you like to accomplish with this release?

Honestly I hope to have a global impact with this song! I always feel empowered when listening to it and I hope other women feel the same.

Do you have anything else upcoming our readers should look out for?

I’m working on my EP right now and planning to drop it around top of summer. I am super excited about that.

Lenny Kravitz – HWOF

Lenny Kravitz season is in full swing. Following a surge of viral activity and his immortalization on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this month, the iconic artist and consummate creative returns with a brand new single entitled “Human.” Listen to the single HERE. The release paves the way for his forthcoming album Blue Electric Light, out May 24, 2024 via Roxie Records/BMG. Pre-order/Pre-save Blue Electric Light HERE.

“Human” practically overflows with upbeat and undeniable energy catalyzed by Kravitz’s inimitable fusion of fiery rock ‘n’ roll, slick funk, and cosmic pop. Wild cowbell, loose riffing, and a head-nodding bass line can’t contain the track’s bold and boisterous spirit as his voice echoes on the chorus, “I came here to be alive. I am here to be human.” Fittingly, a skyscraping guitar solo airlifts one last crescendo on this life-affirming anthem.

“Human” follows lead single “TK421,” released in October 2023. Ecstatic funk guitars, robotic analog synths, weezy talkbox, a dancefloor beat, a fiery saxophone solo and a clever nod to both Boogie Nights and Star Wars power up the fast-paced rock ‘n’ roll romp. The viral “TK421” video, which made its worldwide debut via YouTube and global broadcast premiere on MTV’s global network of channels, amplifies the song’s free spirit; Kravitz is seen like you’ve never seen him before. Watch the music video HERE.

Timeless. Explosive. Romantic. Inspiring. How else to characterize Blue Electric Light, Lenny Kravitz’s 12th studio album? Kravitz wrote and recorded the project in his studio in the Bahamas, and his mastery of deep-soul rock ‘n’ roll is once again established here. As a relentless creative force—musician, writer, producer, actor, author, designer—he continues to be a global dynamic presence throughout music, art, and culture. Blue Electric Light is an impassioned suite of songs that broadens this distinction and is the latest contribution of a man whose music—not to mention his singular style—continues to inspire millions the world over. On the album, Kravitz’s talents as a writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist resonate as he wrote and played most of the instruments himself, with longtime guitarist Craig Ross. Ultimately, he crafted 12 tracks that are reflective of his legacy as a genre-breaking trailblazer, yet also firmly entrenched in the energy of the 21st century and beyond.

This luminous world of Blue Electric Light will continue to unfold as Kravitz uncovers more from the album in the near future. Stay tuned for more from Lenny Kravitz.

FEMME FILM

Stylish, seductive with sensitivity.’360®.

FEMME is an artistic yet rivoting tale enunciating gay social constructs within Great Britain. A black drag performer is pummeled at a neighborhood pharmacy by a tableau of heterosexuals. It ultimately leads to a myriad of erotic episodes.

One of the most engaging works and sure to become a cult classic. A savory jumbo of Paris is BurningThe Crying Game, and The Young & Evil.

DIRECTORS’ STATEMENT

The seed of Femme came from our desire to flip the classic hyper-masculinity of the Neo-noir thriller on its head. By putting a queer protagonist at the heart of our revenge story, we aimed to put our own stamp on a genre that we love but from which we have often felt excluded.

However, once we started work on the film, the idea began to evolve into something that felt much bigger in scope. We realised that a queer reframing of such a hetero-centric genre was the perfect way to explore – and explode – conventional ideas of sexuality, masculinity, patriarchy, and identity. Our conversations around these topics brought up a lot for us as gay men about things that terrify us and things that make us rage.

As we dug deeper, we came to the conclusion that the film we wanted to make was, at its core, about drag. And not only the more recognisable feminine drag that Jules dons at the beginning of the story. Almost every character in the f ilm wears a form of drag: a performance of gender that earns them power and status in the world they inhabit. Femme delves into what happens when those masks are challenged.

We hope that in adopting and subverting familiar devices from many films that we love, we have created a space for Femme that is all its own. In a way, the film itself is wearing a form of drag. It’s a dark story, and we decided early on that we weren’t interested in making a moralistic film, where the good guys take the high road and the bad guys always get their comeuppance. Our interest lies in exploring the reality of the characters and how the world they live in propels them into doing the things that they do. Making Femme was both exhilarating and cathartic for us, and we hope to bring you along on that same journey.

Celebrities, They’re Just Like Us: Fungus and All

In the glitzy world of Hollywood, where stars shine brighter than diamonds on a red carpet, it’s easy to forget that behind the glamour and fame, celebrities are just as susceptible to life’s little inconveniences as the rest of us. Yes, even those seemingly flawless beings gracing our screens can find themselves toe-to-toe with the dreaded. . . foot & nail fungus. It’s a reminder that fame doesn’t come with immunity to everyday struggles, including the itch and discomfort that can accompany a fungal infection. So let’s kick off our shoes and delve into the surprisingly relatable world of celebrity foot fungus because, hey, even the rich and famous can’t avoid the occasional fungal misstep. Who knows, maybe we’ll discover a celebrity secret to curing the itch and burning sensation that comes with this pesky problem.

Chris Pratt

After the Guardians of the Galaxy actor shared a playful photo of his pinky toe on Instagram captioned “Met Gala look,” fans and podiatrists showed heightened interest and concern. Some noticed potential signs of a fungal infection, prompting comments expressing genuine worry about Pratt’s foot health. This unexpected spotlight on his toe not only sparked conversations among fans but also shed light on the prevalence of foot fungus, even among celebrities.

Danny Devito

When the beloved actor shared his “troll foot” online, the internet erupted with a mix of curiosity and concern. DeVito’s candid display showcased a less-than-pretty foot afflicted with, you guessed it, toe fungus, sparking conversations about the importance of foot hygiene and health awareness.

Paula Abdul

The American Idol judge and singer encountered nail fungus after a routine manicure. The infection made her thumbs hypersensitive, causing intense pain. In response, Paula advocated for legislation requiring hygienic standards in nail salons before a California Senate Committee, shedding light on the importance of safety in the beauty industry.

Kate Moss

The supermodel battled foot fungus after a pedicure in New York’s Chinatown. She opted for antibiotics and abstained from alcohol to combat the infection. Reports from the UK’s Sun Newspaper detailed Moss’s struggle with thick, yellow, unsightly toenails. Thankfully, with time and treatment, Moss conquered the fungus, and her nails returned to normal.

Madonna

Even the queen of pop found herself isn’t immune to fungal infections. Rumor has it that she struggled with nail fungus and experienced classic symptoms such as yellowing and thickening of her toenails.

Christiano Ronaldo

Despite his prowess on the pitch, Real Madrid star had a lesser-known opponent to tackle: foot fungus. Renowned for his fancy footwork and goal-scoring abilities, Ronaldo’s feet were reportedly afflicted with a severe case of athlete’s foot, a common type of fungal infection, as per close sources.

Kim Kardashian

The popular reality TV star and successful businesswoman is known for her glamorous image and flawless appearance. However, she has been open about her struggles with certain health conditions, including foot fungus. Despite her celebrity status and seemingly perfect image, Kardashian has admitted that she, like many people, has had to deal with this common ailment. 10 Healthy Eating Hacks and Habits to Fuel Your Fitness Journey

Are you looking to take your fitness journey to the next level? While exercise is crucial for achieving your goals, healthy eating habits play an equally important role. Incorporating these ten healthy eating hacks and habits into your daily routine can help you stay on track and fuel your body with the nutrients it needs to thrive.

1. Plan Your Meals in Advance

One of the best ways to ensure you’re eating healthy is to plan your meals in advance. Take some time each week to map out your meals and snacks for the upcoming days. This will help you avoid impulsive food choices and ensure you have all the ingredients you need on hand. Meal prepping can also save you time and money in the long run.

2. Focus on Whole Foods

When it comes to healthy eating, whole foods should be the foundation of your diet. These include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Aim to fill your plate with a variety of colorful fruits and veggies at each meal. Whole foods are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber that help keep your body functioning at its best.

3. Stay Hydrated

Drinking enough water is essential for overall health and fitness. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day, and more if you’re exercising heavily or in a hot environment. Staying hydrated can help boost your energy levels, improve digestion, and support healthy skin. If you struggle to drink enough water, try adding slices of lemon, lime, or cucumber for flavor.

4. Don’t Skip Meals

Skipping meals can lead to overeating later in the day and may slow down your metabolism. Aim to eat three balanced meals and one or two healthy snacks each day to keep your energy levels stable and prevent cravings. If you’re short on time, try preparing quick and easy meals like smoothies, salads, or stir-fries.

5. Choose Healthy Snacks

When hunger strikes between meals, reach for healthy snacks that will keep you feeling full and satisfied. Some great options include fresh fruit, raw veggies with hummus, a handful of nuts, or a hard-boiled egg. Avoid processed snacks that are high in sugar and unhealthy fats, as these can lead to energy crashes and cravings.

6. Incorporate Healthy Fats

Healthy fats are an important part of a balanced diet and can help keep you feeling full and satisfied. Good sources of healthy fats include avocados, nuts, seeds, olive oil, and fatty fish like salmon. These foods are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

7. Limit Processed Foods

Processed foods are often high in added sugars, unhealthy fats, and artificial ingredients. While it’s okay to enjoy these foods in moderation, aim to limit your intake and focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods instead. When grocery shopping, read labels carefully and choose products with minimal ingredients.

8. Don’t Deprive Yourself

Healthy eating doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourself of all your favorite foods. Allow yourself to enjoy treats in moderation and focus on finding healthy alternatives to your favorite indulgences. For example, if you love ice cream, try making your own using frozen bananas and cocoa powder.

9. Get Enough Protein

Protein is essential for building and repairing muscle tissue, and it can also help keep you feeling full and satisfied. Aim to include a source of lean protein at each meal, such as chicken, fish, tofu, or legumes. If you’re following a vegetarian or vegan diet, make sure to include a variety of plant-based protein sources like beans, lentils, and quinoa.

10. Consider Supplements

While a balanced diet should provide all the nutrients you need, some people may benefit from supplements. For example, Burn XT is a very high quality fat burner that can help support your weight loss goals when combined with a healthy diet and exercise routine. However, it’s important to talk to your doctor before starting any new supplement regimen.

Incorporating these healthy eating hacks and habits into your daily routine can help you fuel your fitness journey and achieve your goals.

The Importance of Car Insurance

Traveling + Road Trips

More and more people are going on road trips and driving nationwide. It’s a great way to spend vacation days and explore different states. You need to have car insurance in New Jersey if you love traveling by car to and from the state. Whether you own the vehicle you’re driving or rent a car, it is essential to have the right coverage before you hit the road in case of an accident.

If you’re driving a rental, you may need temporary car insurance to have coverage if any mishap happens. If you own the car you’re driving, you want to get protection against accidents that could damage your vehicle or injure anyone onboard. The good news is that most auto insurance, whether temporary or not, provides coverage across all states. Coverage limits are usually adjusted to meet state requirements for accidents out of state.

Suppose you are traveling to Mexico or another country and planning to drive around in rentals. In that case, you may need to get insurance specific to that country in addition to your existing insurance coverage. Getting auto insurance that covers traveling and road trips can be confusing, especially if it’s your first time doing so.

Car Insurance for Road Trips and Out-of-state Travels

Currently, there’s no specific car insurance policy that covers road trips. However, if you will be on a road trip with friends or family and will share driving responsibilities with them, you need to ensure that your policy covers permissive use. Some insurance includes a clause for permissive use. This extends the coverage to someone unlisted on the policy but uses the vehicle less than 12 times per year.

While most car insurance companies offer permissive use options, some will have restrictions. So, before you hit the road, check the information about permissive use in your policy.

In general, auto insurance is regulated and enforced at the state level. Thus, every state will write and administer its insurance requirements. You can search online for state requirements or talk to your agent if unsure.

Luckily, if you travel to a state with higher required insurance coverage than New Jersey, your insurance will automatically adjust your policy limit to meet that requirement. However, you must also note that your liability insurance will stay the same if you travel to a state with lower limits.

Car Insurance If You’re Driving Your Car

Depending on your coverage type, your auto insurance will cover various problems if you are driving your car to another state. Here are some of the car insurance coverages:

·  Liability Insurance – You need this insurance to cover accidental property damage and personal injuries if you get involved in a car crash while on a road trip. If you are taken to court after an accident, the liability insurance will also cover legal defense.

·  Collision and Comprehensive Insurance – This is optional coverage. You can get it if you want more comprehensive coverage for various road trip problems. A collision and comprehensive insurance will cover car theft, collisions with animals, and car damages caused by fire, hail, floods, vandalism, and falling objects.

·  Roadside Assistance Insurance – Road trip problems like getting a flat tire, empty gas tank, dead battery, or getting locked out of your car –are problems that roadside assistance insurance can cover. But you can also get help for these elsewhere; for example, if you’re an auto club member, you likely have coverage for these instances.

Car Insurance If You Own a Car but Driving a Rental

In most cases, a rental should already have coverage if you have liability, collision, and comprehensive insurance. Some auto insurance also covers rentals, so read the complete information in your policy. However, there might be some gaps in coverage. For example, auto insurance usually doesn’t cover “loss of use” charges.

If you get into an accident, the rental company might charge you a daily fee to cover any lost income while the vehicle is being repaired. Depending on the amount of damage, the cost could add up to thousands of dollars. Before you rent a car, you will have the option to buy a CDW or collision damage waiver. It can reduce your financial burden if something happens to the rental car while you’re on the road.

Car Insurance If You Don’t Own a Car and Driving a Rental

If you don’t own a car, you will not have auto insurance. If that is the case, you need to purchase car insurance for the rental. In most cases, the rental company will also offer car insurance and sign the rental agreement. You can buy coverage like roadside assistance, liability insurance, CDW, and personal accident insurance. You can also get personal effects coverage, which covers any valuable items damaged or stolen during your road trip.

Car Insurance for Trips Out of the Country

If you’re wondering whether you need car insurance to travel to Mexico and other countries, it depends on whether you’re planning to drive. If you are moving your car to another country, you may not need additional coverage. There’s no need to buy additional policies for road trips in Canada. This is because most car insurance in the U.S. is also good in Canada.

Are you traveling to Mexico? Your current auto insurance probably won’t work there. As such, you will need to buy car insurance in Mexico. If you plan to rent a car in the United States, check with the rental company if they allow driving the vehicle across the borders. Some rental companies prohibit that, or there may be some restrictions.

If you are going to another country and planning to drive there, your auto insurance in the United States may not cover anything. Check the laws in your country of destination regarding driving and policy coverage.

Choose the Right Car Insurance

Whether you’re getting insurance for your new car or need temporary insurance for rentals and road trips, choosing the right insurance policy with the right coverage is essential. Make sure to shop around and compare providers to get the best deals.
