Kelsea Ballerini Announces Poetry Collection

Two-time GRAMMY Award-nominated multiplatinum songwriter, producer and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year nominee Kelsea Ballerini announces her debut poetry collection, Feel Your Way Through, available at retailers and online on November 16, 2021. It will be published as a Ballantine Hardcover by Ballantine an imprint of Random House. The collection is available for pre-order now HERE. The jacket image, painted by Kelsea, was also revealed and can be downloaded HERE.

A born storyteller, lyricist, and wordsmith, Ballerini applies the keen intuition, delicate introspection, and raw honesty that turned her into a superstar to this candid collection of poems. She opens up about everything from family dynamics, relationships, and body image to confidence, self-love, sexuality, and the lessons of youth she’s picked up along the way. As always, she speaks straight from the heart.

About Feel Your Way Through, she shared, “I’ve realized that some feelings can’t be turned into a song, so I’ve started writing poems. Just like my songs, they talk about what it’s like to be twenty-something trying to navigate a wildly beautiful and broken world.”

It continues a prolific year for Ballerini. She recently teamed up with US alt-pop trio LANY for “I QUIT DRINKING.” The song has quickly amassed over 11 million streams in its first 2 weeks of availability and shot to #2 on the iTunes pop songs chart upon release. Inciting critical applause, People described the debut CMT Awards performance as “swept up in a storm of emotion” (see the performance HERE).

Ballerini’s current single at country radio, “half of my hometown (feat. Kenny Chesney)” has more than 47-Million world-wide streams to date and had its television performance debut on the Academy of Country Music Awards (click HERE). Kelsea recently shared the music video, which is an ode to her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee.

As announced earlier this month, Ballerini is joining the Jonas Brothers on The Remember This Tour later this summer. For additional information and tour dates, please visit kelseaballerini.com.

Peach PRC Unveils Symptomatic

Breakthrough Australian singer and songwriter, Peach PRC, unveils a new single entitled “Symptomatic.”

Listen to “Symptomatic” HERE via Republic Records. Watch the lyric video HERE.

About the song, she shared, “One of the features of my mental illness is I can have really low periods and then swing into an incredible high manic period. When this happens, I feel like I’m invincible and get really excited about doing lots of stuff—like learning to speak Italian, play 5 instruments, or become a crystal healer! Every time, I think I’ve been cured of my depression and mental struggles forever! My therapist once compared to me to Harley Quinn while I am in this state – that kind of bothered me. Then I thought, why don’t I write a song about being on this high and thinking I’m cured and just embrace the fuck out of the Harley-Quin-of-it-all! And that song – is ‘Symptomatic’.

Peach PRC unveiled her debut single “Josh” earlier this year. It has already gathered 10 million-plus streams and received widespread critical acclaim. PAPER Mag raved, “it’s a bombastic first look for the freshly minted pop star that sacrifices none of the chaotic whimsy that endeared fans to her in the first place, and Refinery29 noted, “Peach PRC takes her ex’s obsession and turns it into a pop song, and it’s kind of perfect. (Leave her alone, Josh.)”

She’s gearing up to drop her debut EP very soon!

Bendigo Fletcher Reveal Astro Pup

Louisville, KY’s Bendigo Fletcher have unveiled “Astro Pup,” the third track off their forthcoming debut album Fits of Laughter. The song is available to stream and download starting today HERE. Watch a lyric video for the song HEREFits of Laughter is due for release on August 13, 2021 via Elektra Records and is available for pre-order now HERE. Merch bundles and limited edition colored vinyl are available exclusively through the bandߣs online store HERE.

On “Astro Pup,” the band delivers a heartbreak anthem spiked with heavenly harmonies and radiant banjo melodies. As Bendigo Fletcher’s first time working with an outside producer (Ken Coomer, original drummer for Wilco and Uncle Tupelo), Fits of Laughter draws much of its freewheeling energy from the deliberately unfussy nature of their recording sessions. “Going into working with Ken, we felt confident that we wanted to retain the jangly sweetness of the music we’ve made in the past,” shares frontman Ryan Anderson. “There’s loose ends and missed beats that we didn’t intend to make happen, but those moments always feel really special when they’re resolved it sounds like a band actually playing together.”

This Summer, Bendigo Fletcher will return to the road for a run of headline shows and festival appearances. In the Fall and Winter, the band will support labelmate Anderson East on both legs of his Maybe We Never Die Tour of North America. The 22-city trek kicks off on October 21, 2021 with two nights at Los Angeles, CA’s famed Troubadour, and wraps on February 02, 2022 at Toronto, Canada’s Danforth Music Hall. A complete list of live dates and ticket information can be found HERE.

Bendigo Fletcher announced their Elektra Records signing in an exclusive interview with American Songwriter, and previewed Fits of Laughter with the release of lead single “Evergreen” earlier this year. In May, the band returned with the album’s groove-heavy opener “Sugar in the Creek”and an accompanying animated music video. The album’s early tracks have been praised as “somewhere between the post-Woodstock folk scene of the 70’s  and that decade’s burgeoning hard rock movement” (FLOOD Magazine), and “denser psych-rock with some remaining elements of Bendigo Fletcher’s drifting folk-Americana roots” (American Songwriter). Earlier this month, The Bluegrass Situation premiered a live video of the band performing “Sugar In The Creek” at Louisville, KY’s Blackacre Farm. Watch it HERE.

Throughout Fits of Laughter, frontman Ryan Anderson crafts the patchwork poetry of his lyrics by serenely observing the world around him. When matched with the band’s gorgeous collision of country and folk-rock and dreamy psychedelia, the result is story-songs graced with raw humanity, wildly offbeat humor, and a transcendent sense of wonder. For help in forging the album’s ragged elegance, Bendigo Fletcher worked with producer Ken Coomer, laying down the album in nine frenetic days. The album bears an undeniable immediacy, thanks in part to the band’s decision to limit the tracklist to eight essential songs (a move largely inspired by extraordinarily lean and iconic albums like Television’s Marquee Moon).

Fits of Laughter follows a trio of independent EPs that quietly amassed millions of streams and earned praise from Pop Matters, Atwood Magazine, and more. Converting audiences to fans on the road, Bendigo Fletcher has supported Mt. Joy, Nathaniel Rateliff, Rayland Baxter, Caamp, and Hiss Golden Messenger on tour. Bendigo Fletcher is: Ryan Anderson (lead vocals, guitar, banjo) – Andrew Shupert (backing vocals, lead guitar) – Evan Wagner (backing vocals, keys, guitar, auxiliary percussion) – Conner Powell (bass) – Chris Weis (drums).

Brittany Howard × Jaime

Jaime – the first solo album from Brittany Howard – has been reimagined by an astonishing cross-section of the five-time GRAMMY winner’s peers. Featuring fresh takes and remixes of the album’s 11 songs, Jaime Reimagined will be released by ATO Records in digital format on July 23 with the vinyl edition to follow on September 24. See below for track listing.

Today, Howard shared the shimmering single “Presence” Little Dragon Remix along with the b-side, “Tomorrow” BadBadNotGood Remix.

Brittany Howard noted, “Making Jaime was so much fun for me because I was able to explore so many different genres of music. There were no rules. This reimagination project has been no different. I have been honored to have so many incredible artists from all musical worlds interpret my songs in such interesting and different ways.”

Little Dragon said, “Working with Brittany’s voice felt really inspiring, because it radiates emotions and energy.”

BadBadNotGood explained, “We’ve been fans of Brittany Howard’s work from a distance for years but haven’t had the chance until now to connect. She has an absolutely incredible voice and her songwriting style is really unique. The original of ‘Tomorrow’ had such a special, floating sound that it was difficult to find a direction to go in for the remix. We tried to give the amazing vocals a new context and build around that. We were honored to have the opportunity and hope everyone enjoys it!”

Howard will headline the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 18. She will also be performing at numerous festivals, including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and Life Is Beautiful, and touring with My Morning Jacket. Tickets are available HERE. See below for itinerary.

Fans who pre-order the digital edition of Jaime Reimagined will instantly receive the Little Dragon and BadBadNotGood remixes plus Bon Iver’s remix of “Short and Sweet,”EARTHGANG’s remix of “Goat Head,” Michael Kiwanuka’s version of “13th Century Metal” and “Stay High again..” from Fred again.. and Joy Anonymous.

Childish Gambino also offers up an interpretation of “Stay High.” The 9th Wonder remix of “He Loves Me” features Common while Gitty’s remix of “Baby” features Syd. Other artists who contributed to Jaime Reimagined include Emily King, Laura Mvula, Georgia Anne Muldrowand Jungle.

As the frontwoman and guitarist for Alabama Shakes, Howard became one of music’s most celebrated figures – the band won four GRAMMYs (out of its nine nominations) and she has performed everywhere from the Obama White House to the main stage at Lollapalooza, where she sang with Paul McCartney at his invitation. But for her solo debut, Howard boldly decided to explore new directions, with diverse instrumentation and arrangements and intimate, revelatory lyrics. Howard titled the album after her sister, who taught her to play the piano and write poetry, and who died of cancer when they were still teenagers.

Jaime was awarded four stars by Rolling Stone, MOJO and Q, named the Best Album of 2019 by NPR and nominated for a GRAMMY Award in the Best Alternative Music Album category.Praising Jaime as “a candid autobiography in funk,” The New York Times said, “With a voice that can go to the roadhouse, the church or deeply private places, she exorcises troubles with the music’s sheer pleasure.”

“Stay High” won a GRAMMY for Best Rock Song after spending three weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs chart. It was Public Radio’s Most Popular Song of 2019 and named by Pitchfork and others as one of the year’s best songs. “History Repeats,” “Goat Head”and “Short And Sweet” received GRAMMY nominations in the rock, R&B and American roots categories respectively.

Project Youngin × Private

Asserting himself as a force to watch in 2021, St. Petersburg, FL rapper Project Youngin unveils the music video for “Private” today. Watch it HERE via Motown Records. It remains a standout from his buzzing mixtape, Bigger Blessings.
On the track, his smooth flow glides right over the beat as his raunchy and voyeuristic verses detail a tryst in motion. The music video brings this story to life as he cruises in a classic car with his lady by his side. The visual intercuts this footage with steamy moments of intimacy, serving up an appropriately NSFW complement to the song. It illuminates his impressive melodic bars and undeniable star power on screen.
Project Youngin has always had to hustle for what he wanted —he learned from an early age that no one would be handing him a damn thing. That’s been true since he was growing up in St. Petersburg, Florida, but even more so since he started making music, honing the complex sound that’s surging through his home state and far beyond. He has an innate ability to blend beautiful melodies and a fluttering flow with drill-inspired darkness, mining the depths of his past for moving, vivid stories. On his 2021 mixtape, Bigger Blessings, Project Youngin lays out his life philosophies. The title is an ode to all the things he’s been through, how many times the odds were a million-to-one and yet he pushed on. He offers up lines about hopping on jets with $50k in a duffle, but there are also songs like “War with Myself,” which wrestles with feelings of betrayal and paranoia. He balances boastful bars and pouring his heart out with ease, letting the emotions flow. This versatility is enabled, in part, by his deal with Motown Records and 100K Management. Finally, Project Youngin is elevated to the same stage as so many modern rap greats —now his labelmates. He’s thrilled to be here, but he’ll never assume his work is done. With the ability to turn sensitive feelings into moving melodies and craft bitter, bristling bars —often on the same tracks, Project Youngin is ready to take the throne among hip-hop’s elite.

CBD For Dogs

Let’s face it – when your feathered, furry or scaly friend is experiencing distress, you will try to do everything to make them feel better. Whether your dog is subjected to chronic pain, nausea or anxiety, CBD and its promising health benefits have a great potential to improve the quality of life for many pets.

However, much like with any medication or supplement, there are some things you need to be aware of before giving CBD oil to your dog. Here are the top five things to keep in mind prior to implementing CBD products into your dog’s routine.

Why Using CBD For Pets?

Just like humans, horses, cats and other mammals, dogs have a complex endocannabinoid system, which is known to regulate vital bodily functions, such as sleep, memory, appetite, pain, learning, etc. and keep systems in balance. Due to the positive effect on this biological system and promising healing qualities, administering CBD oil to your pet can help with a wide variety of animal-specific conditions and diseases.

So, can you give CBD products to your dog? While studies regarding CBD use for dogs are lacking, early research suggests that CBD oil can significantly improve pain levels and therefore quality of life without discernible side effects.

Five Tips On How To Give CBD Oil To Your Dog

Consult Your Veterinarian

One of the essential recommendations is to always visit a licensed veterinarian before incorporating any new supplements or medications into your pet’s daily regimen. A vet consultation will help you find the right answers to any questions you may have regarding CBD, its specifics and potential adverse reactions.

Plus, your vet will also check your pet’s entire body closely for signs of injury or illness, review any other medicaments they are taking and advise on the best way for administering CBD to your dog as well as appropriate CBD dose for your pet.

Opt For CBD Products That Are THC-Free

While legal CBD products usually contain no more than 0.2% of THC compound, which is considered safe for animals, it is better to stick to products where the THC content is 0.0%. Animals are often more sensitive and can react to even small traces of THC. Therefore, consider purchasing the best CBD oil for pain relief, anxiety or any other ailment of your pet. Such products should be completely THC-free for your dog’s safety and most importantly, watch out for possible symptoms of THC poisoning such as anxiety, vomiting or diarrhoea.

Additionally, always choose well-established CBD brands and ask for a Certificate of Analysis (COA) to double-check that the CBD and THC concentrations and ensure products are effective.

Find The Right Time To Give CBD

Each pet owner always wants to pamper his fluffy friend with the best possible support, including offering quality food with natural and safe ingredients that will improve their overall quality of life. Adding CBD to food will make it even more beneficial to their health. Aside from supplying essential vitamins and minerals into your pet’s diet plan, CBD can ensure they recover faster after daily exercise or play routine and remain as active and joyous as possible.

You can also add CBD treats into your pet’s training schedule. Since CBD can be beneficial for improving memory and cognitive functions, it can help to provide better results when you train your pet. CBD can also boost their focus and sense of calm, which can be a great solution for pets that are easily distracted. You can give CBD infused treats as a training reward; just be sure to check the concentration of cannabidiol in the treats so you can manage your planned daily dose appropriately.

Whether you choose to combine your massage session with products that contain CBD oil, pamper yourself with an infused bath bomb, inhale CBD vape oil for fast effects or drink relaxing CBD tea, most users prefer to take their daily dose before bed because it is thought to promote restful sleep. This also applies to your pet. Giving CBD at night will help to relax the mind of your pets, reduce any discomfort they might feel and allow them to enjoy better quality sleep.

Start With Low CBD Dosage

It is always best to start with low doses to give your pet’s body time to adjust to the new supplement and prevent any unpleasant reactions. Also, as you introduce CBD to your pet’s daily routine make sure to analyse the effect it has on them. Monitor any changes in your dog’s temperament, behaviour and habits, and then gradually increase the CBD dosage for the best results. Starting slowly with the lowest CBD dosage possible allows minimising even mild side effects, providing a positive experience from CBD use.

Remember About Potential Side Effects

According to the 2017 report by the World Health Organization, CBD in its purest form is considered safe and well-tolerated by animals. However, in two subsequent 2018 dog studies, the treatment with CBD was associated with an increase in liver alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme activity. Veterinary neurologist Dr. Stephanie McGrath was one of the first researchers to use therapeutic potential of cannabis in veterinary practice. During the course of her research, she performed a liver function test to ensure that the dog’s liver works properly and is gradually returning to normal.

“I would be a little worried about introducing CBD for dogs that are subjected to liver problems”, says Dr McGrath. Similarly, since CBD appears to be metabolised by the liver, McGrath says that you also need to be careful when administering CBD to a dog that is already taking medications that are metabolised by the liver. “We don’t know that these items are interacting now,” she says.

“We did not find anything that would be super alarming regarding the use of CBD infused products for animals,” says Dr McGrath. “But, on the other hand, we still know very little about this product, and it is really important for the owners to know this and use it with caution until we have more information.”
