Ballet Pumps Searches Skyrocket

Global searches for ‘ballet pumps’ skyrocket 742% after Bella Hadid’s post on Instagram

A new finding by Boohoo reveals that online interest in ballet pumps skyrocketed 742% worldwide on the 18th of January, hours after Bella Hadid posted a stylishly posed photo wearing a pair of white satin ballet bumps.

Searches for ‘ballet core’ also skyrocketed 1,424% worldwide, and searches for ‘Miu Miu ballet pumps’ increased by 614% worldwide, proving how many of Hadid’s followers wanted to get their hands on a pair.

The analysis reveals that online interest in the ballet-core fashion trend exploded after the American supermodel posted the photo to her 57 million followers.

The image captioned ’17 hour flight to work’ showed Hadid pairing a sheer lilac geometric patterned top with a raspberry red midi skirt and a pair of Miu Miu white satin ballet pumps and lilac socks.

The ballet core fashion trend is a hyper-feminine styling take on all thing’s ballet and dance, with the focus remaining on the clothing dancers wear during training and performing such as ballet pumps and leotards.

A spokesperson for Boohoo commented:

“The ballet core style is on the rise and with huge celebrities such as Bella Hadid posting on Instagram her effortless take on the trend. It is a testament to not only the style, but also Hadid herself that a single post can cause such a rise in interest.

Although the trend is emblematic of nineties and early noughties style, the aesthetic was worn by many celebrities throughout last year, especially at the 2022 Met Gala. The theme for the Gala was ‘Gilded Glamour’, and saw celebrities such as Tessa Thompson, Billie Eilish and Emma Stone sport gorgeous looks inspired by ballerinas.”

Hottest Fashion Trends

As we wave goodbye to 2022 and welcome in the New Year, one thing on many people’s to-do lists is creating a wardrobe that will not only impress but serve a purpose all year long.

Fashion experts at Boohoo have predicted the top trends of 2023 in the hopes of helping prepare your capsule wardrobes, de-clutter and donate any out-of-fashion pieces and give insight into what’s trending in 2023.

Biker Girl

The biker trend stems from pulling nostalgic leather and grunge-style pieces, incorporating them into everyday wear, and spicing up a party look. The trend is often seen when mixing feminine silhouettes with boxy oversized leather pieces. Celebrity fashion favourites such as Sydney Sweeney and Hailey Bieber are often seen stepping out in biker-style outfits, proving just how popular the biker look is and will be this year.

Searches for ‘leather pants’ are at an average of 129,000 times a month in the U.S., alongside searches for ‘biker jacket’ seeing a 101% increase over the past 90 days and searches for ‘biker boots’ increased by 165% over the past month.

Flashy Metallics

At the end of last year, we saw the re-introduction of all things metallic, with silver taking over the internet and the runway. The style has already become an obsession on social media, especially on TikTok. The hashtag #silveroutfit has surpassed over three million views, and #metallicoutfits also reached an impressive 595,200 views.

Many might believe shiny metallic outfits are just for the sparkle season at Christmas, but that is not the case. It is also not just limited to gold and silver pieces as the industry is seeing more and more colours venturing into popularity. Violets, baby blues and shimmery greens have all popped onto the radar recently, which means the high-shine style is set to be big in 2023.

Cowboy Core

Cowboy core was extremely popular throughout all the seasons last year, and it is here to stay. Western-style pieces are a great way to inject some fun and sass into your 2023 wardrobe; whether it be a pair of statement cowboy boots, a studded suede vest or an oversized plaid shirt, this trend is set to stick.

Something particular that caught fans’ eyes is Margot Robbie. Whilst filming for her upcoming movie Barbie, the actress, paired a neon pink western-style two-piece with a white cowboy hat and matching bandana. Another celebrity that hugely influenced Cowboy Core is Harry Styles after appearing at multiple of his concerts wearing cowboy hats. Fans swooned over him at his concerts while wearing cowboy hats and feather boas, which increased searches for ‘cowgirl hat’ in the US to increase 117%.

Cargo Couture

Practicality in fashion is essential for some when it comes to styling outfits which is why the cargo trend is back and better than ever. Cargo pants give the perfect baggy silhouette whilst also providing comfort, and many styles come equipped with deep pockets, which is ideal for those who like to travel light.

Searches in the U.S searches for ‘cargo pants’ are at an average 306,000 times per month in America. Cargo skirts have also started to pop up on the scene, and searches for ‘cargo skirt’ over the past month have increased by 123%, proving the trend’s popularity.

Barbie Core

This girly aesthetic based on Mattel Barbie dolls is definitely one for those that love a preppy, bold and bright outfit. This trend is mainly focused on bubblegum pink and fuchsia pieces inspired by all things girly, which was a huge trend in the early 2000s.

With Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie set to hit our screens later this year, we can expect to see hot-pink styles all over social media this year.

Playful Professional

If a capsule wardrobe is more suited to your lifestyle, playful blazers and two-piece suits are a great way to stay classy and fun both in and out of the office this year. The style has taken over TikTok, with thousands of users showing off their outfits of the day and inspirational style videos showing how to style the playful professional trend. The hashtag #blazeroutfit has surpassed 320.8 million views on the platform.

K-Pop superstars TWICE return today with their first release of 2023, “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE,” via 360 MAGAZINE.

TWICE – MOONLIGHT SUNRISE

K-Pop superstars TWICE return today with their first release of 2023, “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE,” via JYP Entertainment/Imperial/Republic Records, on all digital and streaming platforms. Stream the track HERE; watch the music video HERE.

“MOONLIGHT SUNRISE” is the group’s second English single, following the massive success of their first English single – 2021’s smash hit “The Feels,” which marked the K-Pop powerhouses’ first career entry on The Billboard Hot 100 (#83) and earned the group multiple top 10 placements across various charts. “The Feels” also earned TWICE their first U.S. gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Written, composed, and arranged by K-Pop hit makers earattack and Lee Woo Hyun, “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE” is a pre-release from TWICE’s highly anticipated 12th mini album, due out in March. Nina Ann Nelson and Kaedi Dalley (of female acappella group Citizen Queen) also participated in the track’s writing and composition. The Miami bass-based pop song explores the feelings and excitement of falling in love with lyrics such as “baby come be my starlight moonlight sunrise” and “If I’m your moonlight you’re my sunrise babe,” alongside the music video’s dreamy, charming visuals.

TWICE is heading into the new year strong, following what was a massive, record-breaking 2022. Last year, the group was the most-streamed female K-Pop group on Spotify (US), and, in 2022 alone, they accumulated nearly 300 million steams (with cumulative streams of over 5.5 billion, to date). They were also nominated for three major music awards in 2022 – an MTV Video Music Award for “Best K-Pop,” an American Music Award for “Favorite K-Pop Artist,” and an MTV Europe  Music Award for “Best K-Pop.”

TWICE kicked off 2022 with their 4TH WORLD TOUR Ⅲ in the United States where they played five cities – Los Angeles (The Forum), Oakland (Oakland Arena), Fort Worth (Dickies Arena), Atlanta (State Farm Arena), and New York (UBS Arena) –  including two shows in both Los Angeles and New York due to popular demand. All seven shows sold out just hours after on sale, and made TWICE the first female K-Pop group to sell out two North American arena tours. Following this massive success, TWICE returned to the States in May to play back-to-back, sold-out encore performances at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium. These performances were a major milestone for the group, as they made TWICE the first female K-Pop group to play a North American stadium.

In August 2022, they released their 11th EP, BETWEEN 1&2The EP entered the Billboard 200 Album Chart at #3 and holds the biggest pure sales week for an album by a female K-Pop act in the U.S., which further extends TWICE’s record for the most top 10 debuts on the chart among all K-Pop female acts. Additionally, the mini album’s 2022 sales totaled 199,000, earning TWICE the #6 spot on 2022’s Top CD Albums Sales chart; they were the only K-Pop girl group to enter the chart last year. BETWEEN 1&2’s lead single “Talk that Talk” also performed well, reaching top 20 on Billboard’s Global 200 chart, and top 10 on Billboard’s Global Excl. US chart. The single is tied with “The Feels” as their highest charting single on the latter chart.

“MOONLIGHT SUNRISE” is out now via all digital and streaming platforms. Stream the track HERE.

About TWICE:

Formed under K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment in 2015, TWICE is one of the best-selling K-pop girl groups of all time regarding physical album sales. The group first rose to prominence with their debut title song “Like OOH-AHH” and 2016 breakthrough single “CHEER UP,” which went on to top multiple Korean pop charts and won ‘Song of the Year’ at the Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards. The group has been included in numerous industry lists including Variety’s Youth Impact Report as the only K-pop group included in the list, Forbes Korea Power Celebrity issue in both 2019 and 2017, and Billboard’s 21 Under 21 2017: Music’s Next Generation issue in 18th place and as the only Asian act.

In 2019, the group successfully completed their World Tour, TWICELIGHTS, which included sold-out shows in the US at The Forum in Los Angeles and the Prudential Center in Newark. In 2020, TWICE’s album MORE & MORE made its first ranking on the Artist 100 and Billboard 200 lists. Their second album that year, Eyes wide open, hit the top five slot on the all-genre iTunes US Album Sales Chart and debuted at #8 on Billboard’s World Albums chart. The album’s lead track “I CAN’T STOP ME” debuted in the top 10 of the all-genre iTunes US Song Sales Chart, and they later performed the trach on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #PLAYATHOME digital YouTube series.

The momentum continued through 2021 where they kicked off the year with a performance on TIME100 Talks followed by their first U.S. broadcast debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show and a performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. That June, they released their 10th mini album, Taste of Love, which debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart. The K-pop powerhouses followed this up with the release of their first full English-language single, “The Feels,” which earned the group their first career entry on The Billboard Hot 100 (#83) and multiple top 10 placements across various charts; they have performed the single on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and GMA3. The group has also been nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards for “Best K-pop” in 2021 and 2022 for “Alcohol Free” and “The Feels,” respectively.

Most recently, TWICE released their third full-length album Formula of Love: O+T=<3, which hit #3 on the Billboard 200 and stayed in the chart for eight consecutive weeks, and completed their sold-out 4TH WORLD TOUR Ⅲin arenas across the United States. In May 2022, TWICE headed back to Los Angeles to play two sold-out 4TH WORLD TOUR Ⅲencore performances, becoming the first female K-Pop group to perform a North American stadium. Their latest mini album, BETWEEN 1 & 2, was released in August 2022, and the group’s highly anticipated new single, “Moonlight Sunrise” is out now.

Tips for traveling abroad on a tight budget

Traveling abroad used to be a luxury far beyond the reach of everyday people. Yet discovering the riches of foreign lands is no longer an inaccessible fantasy. The world has opened up, and tourism has become one of the fastest-growing industries. According to the World Tourism Organization, 1.5 billion people traveled the world in 2019. And even after years of international turmoil and crisis, tourism is getting back on its feet.

As exciting as planning a trip abroad might be, though, it does cost quite some money. But the silver lining is, packing your bags and wandering the world has never been more affordable, provided you plan it carefully. So, here are some tips and tricks to go out into the world, even on a shoestring budget.

Travel off-peak

We start out with perhaps the most obvious advice of all. Granted, every traveller in the book dreams of seeing the cherry blossom in Japan or the fiery carnivals of Brazil. But such experiences come at a steep cost. With millions of tourists flocking in, accommodation options run low, and prices get sky-high, from car rentals to flight tickets. The same goes for the hot summer months, as beach-goers and vacationers on extended holidays hit the same spots.

If your budget is somewhat constrained, try and be flexible, as many destinations empty out off-season. Autumn is optimal for a city break in Europe without queuing endlessly in front of the Louvre Museum or the Coliseum, while the heat waves of Middle Eastern summer mean the Pyramids won’t be as jam-packed as usual. Of course, the weather might not always be on your side off-season. Yet you’ll discover another side to the destination of your choice and save money all the while.

Rely on public transportation

Road trips are all fun and games. But from the ever-increasing price of gas to the mere cost of a rental, travelling by car often ends up more expensive than you’d expected. If you want to keep your expenditures in check, thus, you might settle for a simpler itinerary. Many cities across the world are close enough for you to hop on a train.

Certain companies even allow you to move across borders smoothly by train. In Europe, for instance, the Interrail Pass will get you to as many as 33 countries for a fixed fee. Overnight buses are even less pricey, and some are surprisingly comfy. At last, many transportation options apply a range of rebates for travellers, such as student discounts.

Pick the right destination

Your spendings essentially come down to the destination you’re traveling to. Certain parts of the world are notoriously costly, from Japan to Scandinavia. Other countries offer good value for money, but unavoidable domestic flights to get from point A to point B will weigh heavily on your wallet. Working out a budget-friendly trip, therefore, means switching the focus. Instead of popular tourist magnets like Rome and London, you might turn to Belgrade or Sofia for your next European city trip.

Likewise, you may have to tick off certain spots entirely. For all the years you’ve been yearning to go on a safari, Kenya and Tanzania are not exactly budget travel destinations. And as much as you’d dream of rolling the dice at the casino, locations like Monaco are mostly playgrounds for the super-rich. Besides, platforms like Vegas Slots Online now conjure up the vibe of a brick-and-mortar casino for free. Thousands of slots are a click away without spending a penny. As for tabletop games, live dealer sessions send players straight to Monte Carlo and Vegas. Better yet, all games are mobile-friendly to play on the go while touring Eastern Europe or Southeast Asia.

Search your destination

Once you’ve made up your mind on where your wanderlust will take you next, doing some extensive research can save you as much time as money. Whether you buy a paper guide or scroll down travel blogs, read all you can about your future destination. This way, you might avoid some scams that often fall upon unsuspecting tourists.

This research phase can also help you weigh your options in terms of accommodation, from budget hostels to inexpensive homestays. Knowing a bit more about the habits and customs may also boost your confidence and allow you to stray from the beaten path, swapping the overpriced touristy restaurant for a cheaper dining outlet with a local flair.

Nio Garcia Yeska is out now via 360 MAGAZINE.

Nio Garcia – Yeska

Nio Garcia, the voice of global hits such as “La Jeepeta,” “Te Boté,” and “AM Remix,” returns to the artistic sphere after a year of legal battles over his musical career as a direct consequence of his manager Flow La Movie’s tragic death. Nio Garcia is eager to reconnect with his fans and begins by introducing the song “Yeska,” which is now available on all digital platforms.

“Yeska,” produced by multi-platinum producer, “Yannc Full Harmony,” channels Nio’s dance roots as he performs this rhythmic Reggaeton song, accompanied by a music video, filmed in Miami and directed by Kevin Quiles.

The song is sensual and catchy, with all the elements that have characterized Nio Garcia’s powerful and successful artistic career. The song’s chorus has a Jowell & Randy sample from a popular 2013 song that was chosen carefully to represent the true essence of Puertorican Reggaeton.

“I thought this moment would never come. I was so excited to release new music and to share it with my fans, I’m ready for this new chapter of my artistic career to begin,” the singer said.

After Flow La Movie’s tragic death, Nio was not able to release music because of a fierce inheritance battle amongst family members, but now everything has been resolved and Nio can continue to work freely with his GLAD Empire team.

Three Tips for Elevating Your Home Decor and Making it Luxurious

We all want to live in luxury. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but many people think that a luxury home is out of their reach financially, reserved for super-rich celebrities and A-list Hollywood stars.

However, achieving a luxury home can be easier than you might expect. With a few tricks and careful interior design choices, you can emulate the home of your dreams and wow your guests. We’ve put together three tips for elevating your home décor and making it luxurious. Check them out below.

Get New Furniture

Furniture can often be the most important interior design feature. Be it a chair, a sofa, or a bed, the type of furniture you choose can have an enormous impact on how your space is perceived by yourself and your guests. If you’re looking for luxury, you don’t necessarily splash out on expensive antique furniture. Often, a large, impressive piece can be more affordable than you might expect. Check for a sectional sofa for sale, where you can pick up some real bargains to add a touch of opulence and style to your living space.

Go For a New Color Scheme

Introducing a new color scheme or palette into your home can be an incredibly effective way of rejuvenating your interior décor. Neutral tones such as white or creams can be used to create a sense of sophistication, and these will work perfectly with most other colors and textures that you might find on furniture or soft furnishings.

However, opting for a bolder color choice can be a viable option as well. Colors like gold and purple are extremely effective at creating a sense of luxury, as these are often associated with ideas of royalty and aristocracy. Color can elicit a range of different moods and emotions, so experiment with the color in your home and see what works best for your space.

Harness the Power of the Senses

When it comes to designing an interior space, visuals and aesthetics are often the primary focus. However, this shouldn’t mean you should neglect the other senses. These can often be just as or even more effective in some cases. When we visit a luxury hotel, we are often treated to expensive scents from candles or diffusers. Doing the same in your home can be an effective and affordable way of giving your home décor that extra boost and making it seem incredibly luxurious.

Touch is important too. Think about the textures and fabrics in your home. Soft, silky fabrics can work to create a sense of elegance and can make your home far more inviting and comfortable.

Conclusion

You would be forgiven for assuming that a luxury home requires a significant financial investment. However, the truth is that you can elevate your home décor and make your space far more luxurious through a number of relatively affordable steps. Choose the right furniture, experiment with new color schemes, and use the senses to create a luxury effect in your home.

What Are Cymatics and How Are They Used in Popular Culture?

People find inspiration in everything. Although you might look to music or art for inspiration, some people delve into the science of sound. It’s why so many pop culture phenomena rely on cymatics.

This article explains everything you need to know about cymatics to understand why it appears so frequently in popular culture. You may even find yourself inspired to use it in your own life.

What Are Cymatics?

Cymatics is the study of turning vibrations and sounds into visual art. Scientists and creatives will use a material — such as sand or metal — as a background and study how the soundwaves or tremors create patterns.

In 1967, Hans Jenny published his book, “Cymatics: The Study of Wave Phenomena.” He coined the term to describe the impacts of acoustic sound on sound waves. It opened doors for other forms of research that developed his term into real-world applications.

However, cymatics began back in the sixteenth century with Galileo Galilei. He studied the science of vibrations, specifically related to the frequency and pitch of the specific sound playing at any given time.

What Are They Used For?

It may be challenging to picture why sound waves are so important to science. Jenny’s work opened a new field of science, which experts explored to potentially further explain their own areas of expertise.

In 2013, scientists applied the theory of cymatics or sound waves to what they found as a result of the Big Bang. They noted sound produced after the Big Bang, which left patterns within light throughout the universe. By transforming those pockets into sound wave patterns, people can now listen to the echoes that were the first thing that happened in the known universe after the Big Bang.

Cymatics can also transform how people produce art or explain science outside of professional fields. It’s a visual and auditory medium, so it’s often used in popular culture to entertain.

Examples of Cymatics in Popular Culture

There are a few ways cymatics appears in popular culture and why people might implement it in their work.

1. The Finishing Touch

The Glenfiddich team knew the brand’s Glenfiddich 21 whiskey had a unique story. The marketing campaign explained how the flavors were raised in Scotland and roused in the Caribbean. Cymatics became the way to visualize the rising action in their narrative.

In the Glenfiddich commercial, a Caribbean vocal artist and an orchestra from Scotland play a song. As the music plays, quick shots reveal sound waves on the surface of the whiskey. Sound waves even contort the falling liquid into S-shapes and levitate a single drop with the power of science. The resulting eight million views are a testament to the entertaining power of visual sound.

2. Björk’s Tour Projections

In 2011, singer-songwriter Björk began her Biophilia international tour. Before the first show, she partnered with abstract artists to create cymatic projections. They invented projected video clips of vibrating sand and the Big Bang soundwaves in reverse. The images reflected meanings within Björk’s lyrics and brought a new entertaining element to the show.

While people could view pictures and video clips on the TVs above the stage, others with seats higher in the audience watched Björk perform on a stage continually shifting in cymatic images. Creating more visual meaning to live lyrics led to a more entertaining experience, all because scientists began to study sound in centuries past.

3. The Rosslyn Motet

When composer Stuart Mitchell took a closer look at the carvings within Scotland’s Rosslyn Chapel, he wondered if they were specific notches to note cymatic patterns. He transformed the symbols from the chapels’ 14 arches into sound and pushed “The Rosslyn Motet” album in 2006. It was musical art expressing love for science, sound and the exciting potential for a musical conspiracy etched within architecture.

4. The Glitch Mob’s Music Video

Fans of electronic music watched cymatics in action when The Glitch Mob released their music video for “Becoming Harmonious.” The song overlays a black background that shifts in shapes and colors as the song winds through drops, faster beats and ever-changing volume.

5. Mandali Mendrilla’s Kamadhenu Dress

Cymatics also reaches the fashion industry’s sector of popular culture. Designer Mandali Mendrilla created the Kamadhenu Dress — or the third installation of the Wish Tree Dress series — in 2015. Mendrilla intended for the series to inspire people to feel happiness by evoking various sources of the emotion throughout global cultures.

Moodboards brought the dress to life, which featured cymatic imagery as inspiration for how energy affects the human experience. Mendrilla combined the various shapes with mythology about the goddess Kamadhenu in the dress’ final form. After its runway debut, it became an interactive art installation.

6. Jimmy O’Neal’s Cymascope Painting

People know Jimmy O’Neal as an abstract painter, so when he created a mural outside 5 Walnut Wine Bar, many people were surprised. His outlet of creative expression had momentarily changed, but it was because he found inspiration in cymatics.

O’Neal used a wine glass with a singular sip of wine inside to record a sound. He traced his finger around the wine glass rim and created a 511.95 Hertz frequency in a recording. The frequency translated onto a cymascope water dish in the same shapes projected onto the wine bar’s exterior walls.

The public art drew attention to the science of frequency and vibration. Although O’Neal remains a painter, the one-time installation became famous in the worlds of art and advertising. Cymatics continued to expand various popular culture sectors to bring people together with a scientific visual medium.

7. “The Rings of Power” Opening Sequence

Real-world physics might be the last thing you think about when opening one of J.R.R. Tolkien’s books, but science plays a significant role in one of his show’s opening sequences. When “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” debuted in 2022, fans watched ichor and small chunks of granite morph across their screens in ever-changing ways.

The sequence’s directors found themselves inspired by sound. With a homemade cymascope and an iPhone, they recorded what visual effects happened when they played sounds like rock and roll or Gregorian chants.

Seven months of editing resulted in CG and real-life footage of cymatics transforming into images coincidentally evoking moments in the TV show’s season. The result was a timeless sequence that made the show stand out from other “The Lord of the Rings” media.
