GRAMMY® Award-nominated global pop superstar Zara Larsson surprised Coachella Weekend 2 audiences by joining PinkPanthress during the U.K. sensation’s blowout set in the Mojave tent. Zara performed her soaring dance-pop hit Midnight Sun,” complete with that legendary vocal run, while the crowd did its best to keep up as they sang along.

Zara also took the opportunity to announce the upcoming Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, due to arrive May 1 on Epic Records / Sommer House. The stunning cover art shows the Swedish powerhouse atop a hot pink hot rod on the open road. Reserve your seat on Midnight Sun: Girls Trip by pre-adding HERE.

In addition to cementing the creative chemistry between the two artists, the euphoric onstage moment was the cherry on top of a massive week for Zara who just racked up five American Music Award nominations: Breakthrough Pop Artist; Breakthrough Album of the Year for 2025’s acclaimed Midnight Sun; Social Song of the Year for her viral hit Lush Life,” and both Song of the Summer and Collaboration of the Year for Stateside,” her currently ascendant team-up with, yes, PinkPantheress.

Though we’re only four months into 2026, Zara’s Coachella victory lap already feels overdue. She scored her career-first GRAMMY® nomination in February for “Midnight Sun” (Best Dance Pop Recording). And her album of the same helped propel what Billboard recently called “a major Hot 100 comeback,” as she currently has three hit songs climbing the chart: “Midnight Sun” (#39), “Lush Life” (peaking at #35, with a music video that’s approaching 1 billion views), and “Stateside” (#6), which also hit #1 on the Billboard Global 200 and Spotify’s Global Top 50 after U.S. figure-skating champ Alysa Liu performed a routine to the song during an exhibition performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Additionally, Zara will be honored this month with the Breakthrough Award at Billboard’s Women in Music ceremony in Los Angeles. In an interview that came out this week celebrating the news, Billboard called Midnight Sun the “album that’s made her a new household name in the main pop girl zeitgeist.” She also won raves for her recently wrapped, fully sold-out first North American headlining tour. Inspired by her U.S. breakthrough, The New Yorker just published a profile titled “Zara Larsson Gets Her Flowers,” noting “on the Midnight Sun tour, the Swedish artist makes a comeback that feels like a debut.”

Showing no signs of slowing down, Zara will embark next month on a jam-packed summer festival run that includes Lollapalooza Chicago, BBC’s Radio 1 Big Weekend, and a staggering series of European dates. In October, the Midnight Sun Tour picks up again with an Australia/New Zealand arena tour — presale sold out in less than 2 hours, and more than 6 months in advance. Dates below and info HERE.

Midnight Sun is Zara’s fourth international album. Unapologetically unfiltered and openly vulnerable, the 10-track set ripples with personal confidence and is set to a bold mix of kaleidoscopic pop and euphoric dance. Plumbing the depths of her artistry and journey over nearly 20 years in the public eye, the album is unafraid to show all sides of Zara: lovestruck, wistful, ambitious, cocky, flippant, fun, and uncertain — sometimes in the same breath. The LP also launched additional singles Crush and Pretty Ugly.”

While little is known about Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, Zara shared some posts on her socials this week that have sparked speculation. In one image, she holds up a “Girls Trip” map that shows 12 flower icons scattered across the globe — fans have theorized that each one corresponds to a potential artist feature. She also uploaded photos of a suitcase covered with brightly airbrushed images, as well what seems to be a carefully curated selection of items in her luggage, writing, “Packed and ready for my Girls Trip.”
