Breakout Artist Kidd G

BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP, REBEL MUSIC, AND GEFFEN RECORDS PARTNER ON BREAKOUT ARTIST KIDD G

Big Machine Label Group’s The Valory Music Co. proudly announces a partnership with Rebel Music and Geffen Records to bolster momentum for 18-year-old breakout recording artist Kidd G, as reported exclusively by BILLBOARD this morning. The Georgia-bred singer/songwriter joins The Valory Music Co.’s roster featuring superstar artists such as Thomas Rhett, Sheryl Crow, Brantley Gilbert and Justin Moore. The BMLG imprint will provide genre support through Country radio, commerce and marketing as Rebel Music and Geffen Records continue leading the efforts for Kidd G in various hybrid markets.

Kidd G has already achieved tremendous success with his breakthrough single “Dirt Road.” The chart-bursting track quickly landed on the Billboard Hot Country Chart as the official music video amassed five million YouTube views in little over a month and boasts 13M views to date. Kidd G’s unique strain of honest songwriting landed him on Spotify’s Country Artists To Watch in 2021 list and recently caught the attention of CMT, who hailed the song as “earwarming and undeniable.” His first release under the new arrangement follows the December launch of Teenage Dream: 1000 Miles from Georgia, a deluxe version of Kidd G’s debut EP. As recognition from TikTok to The New York Times accumulates, Kidd G’s fandom soars far beyond the immediate viral sensation.

ABOUT KIDD G

Growing up in the small Georgia town of Hamilton (population 1,130), Kidd G first found fame online through TikTok and SoundCloud, where he got his start posting songs he’d recorded with his friend Nolie Beats. In spring 2020 he caught the attention of Rebel Music, who signed him on the strength of his genre-warping talents. While early tracks like his debut single “Sorry” lean toward traditional hip-hop, he later brought an element of old-school country into his songwriting. As he continued posting his music on SoundCloud, Kidd G soon amassed a dedicated following undeniably drawn to his down-home charm and the honest detail of his lyrics.

As he continued exploring his country roots, Kidd G soon came up with “Dirt Road” – a nostalgia-soaked ballad that quickly went viral, its video surpassing 5 million YouTube views in little over a month. “I love country because it feels so natural to me, and you can really tell stories in the songs,” says Kidd G, naming Hank Williams Jr. among the artists he was raised on. Now having surpassed 1.5M monthly Spotify listeners, his tracks have seen radio play from KIXX Country Radio in Australia, and reached new peaks on highly coveted country playlists including Amazon Music’s ‘Country Heat’ (peaked at #2), and Spotify’s ‘Hot Country’ (peaked at #10). Following his new partnership with Big Machine Label Group’s The Valory Music Co., Kidd G is now back in the studio and eager to share all new music that will continue to showcase his unique raw talent.

“When we partnered with Kidd G last year, we knew it would take a special team to help him build his unique fanbase around the world. With Geffen and Big Machine Label Group on board with us he has a true dream team set up for him to win.” – Rebel Music Founder & CEO, Javier Sang

“Kidd G is the sound of the next wave of great Georgia artists who’ve combined Country & Hip Hop in their own unique way. Not unlike Jason Aldean or Brantley Gilbert before him, Kidd is a southern boy who will blur and ultimately stretch format lines.” – Big Machine Label Group President/CEO Scott Borchetta

“Kidd G is an incredible artist who has galvanized music fans with his powerful songwriting and his ability to bend genres. We are excited to be teaming up with Scott Borchetta and everyone at The Valory Music Co. to continue to grow Kidd G’s fanbase in the Country Music world.” – Geffen Records General Manager Lee L’Heureux

YouTube’s Most Popular Rabbi

World-Renowned Author Manis Friedman Turns to Technology to Help People Rediscover Balance, Becomes YouTube’s Favorite Rabbi

Way before anyone has even thought about the concept of social media, Rabbi Manis Friedman was already helping people rediscover balance, purpose and spirituality. A well-loved author, philosopher, counselor and lecturer, he is best known for his ability to clearly explain and combine age-old Torah wisdom with modern wit to captivate audiences around the world.

For those unfamiliar with him, Rabbi Friedman received his rabbinical ordination from Rabbinical College of Canada in 1969, he also a Biblical scholar and the author behind the acclaimed books “Doesn’t Anyone Blush Anymore?” and “The Joy of Intimacy”.  He founded Bais Chana Institute of Jewish Studies in Minnesota, the world’s first yeshiva exclusively for women back in 1971, and continues to serve the institution as its dean.

As times changed, he recognized that he also needed to change the way he reaches people. His first foray into the world wide web happened in 2005 when he created his website, It’s Good to Know,  which provides sound solutions to everyday problems stemming from relationships, marriage, intimacy, and grief among many others. As social media gained popularity and became more central in people’s lives, he saw the potential that YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin and podcasts hold in helping him bring everyone the wealth of wisdom that he has acquired from years of studying the scriptures.

Today, Rabbi Manis Friedman is known as “YouTube’s Most Popular Rabbi.” His channel, which has already surpassed 100,000 subscribers, allows him to bring the wisdom of Kabbalah closer to people and counsel them regardless of their religious affiliation.

You have the power to fix that, but you need to be open to learning.

Rabbi Friedman has made it his mission to help people improve their relationships and deepen their connection with God. He thanks technology for allowing him to do this despite the pandemic and even giving him a bigger platform to reach a wider audience.

Julia Michaels – Little Did I Know

GRAMMY NOMINATED ARTIST JULIA MICHAELS RELEASES EMOTIONAL VIDEO FOR STUNNING NEW BALLAD “LITTLE DID I KNOW” CO-WRITTEN WITH JP SAXE

Last week, Grammy® Award-nominated multi platinum singer and songwriter Julia Michaels released her full-length debut album, Not In Chronological Order, to critical acclaim.

Watch the newly released video for “Little Did I Know,” directed by Blythe Thomas, HEREWritten with Grammy® Award-nominated singer-and-songwriter JP Saxe, the song is a stunning ballad and standout track from the album. Set to perform on The Ellen Degeneres Show May 7th. New album Not In Chronological Order available now!

About Julia Michaels

Over the past few years, no songwriter has had more of an impact on reshaping pop music than Grammy® Award-nominated and multi platinum-selling artist Julia Michaels, whose razor-sharp perspective on love, loss, and the wide spectrum of the human experience has deservedly catapulted her to the forefront of her industry. Lauded for her work on hit singles by artists like Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Niall Horan, Dua Lipa, Janelle Monáe, Shawn Mendes, P!NK, Ed Sheeran, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Hailee Steinfeld, The Chicks, Keith Urban, Jessie Ware, and more, Julia has spent the last decade honing her craft and delivering fans some of the most evocative music of a generation.

In 2017, Julia embarked on a solo career, separate from her work synthesizing the stories of the stars around her, with her 5x-platinum selling debut single “Issues.” A year later, her peers recognized her stunning work with Grammy® Award nominations for “Best New Artist” and “Song of the Year.” Committing to her solo work, Julia released a series of critically acclaimed EPs, including 2017’s fan-favorite Nervous System and 2019’s critically acclaimed Inner Monologue Part 1 and Inner Monologue Part 2. She also embarked on The Inner Monologue Tour, which marked her first-ever headline tour throughout the U.S. following an enviable run touring the world with an incredible array of artists, including Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, and P!NK.

To date, Julia has notched 25 Billboard Hot 100 entries as a songwriter, including two number 1’s for Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and Selena Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me,” in addition to four top 10 hits, including her debut single “Issues.” Of those 25, she has charted four Hot 100 entries as a recording artist including “Issues,” “I Miss You,” “Coming Home” and “If the World Was Ending,” for which she received her third Grammy® Award nomination in the category of “Song Of The Year” with collaborator JP Saxe.

“Writing this song with the person I love helped me realize that I could write a beautiful song about love without deriving it from toxicity,” says Julia.  “Shooting the music video was incredibly vulnerable for me, because when I wrote the song, I associated it with a significant other. When I made the music video, however, director Blythe Thomas made a wall of mirrors, and it forced me to sing these words to myself. I don’t think I’ve ever been that kind to myself, and that scared me. All that emotion in that video is incredibly real. If this process has taught me anything, it’s that sometimes we’re not as kind to ourselves as we should be. I’m grateful to have experienced this moment, and I hope fans resonate with this song and video in a special way like I did.” – Julia Michaels
