This Thursday, the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) will present awards for the Best Male Athlete of 2017 and the Best Female Athlete of 2017 from each continent. Awards for Outstanding Performance, Outstanding Lifetime Achievement and Contribution to the Olympic Movement Awards 2017 will also be presented.
The prestigious ANOC Awards, taking place in Prague, celebrates outstanding sporting performances from the past year by athletes from Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania, Americas. Continental Associations were asked to monitor athletes’ performances across the International Federations’ World Championships, World Cups and Grand Prix events which took place this year.
The ANOC Awards 2017 will take place on the occasion of the XXII ANOC General Assembly which will be held on 2-3 November in Prague. More than 1,000 senior-delegates from the Olympic Movement are expected to attend the General Assembly, including representatives from all 206 NOCs, International Federations, the IOC and OCOGs.
