“‘Kiss Me’ has always been one of my favorite songs. During quarantine, I was learning how to play guitar and my homie Miles taught me to play it over FaceTime,” Jutes said. “Once I got it, me and my dude Jonny from back home started sending each other videos of us singing ‘Kiss Me,’ but we’d change the words to say dumb shit. Then it dawned on me, I should make a little flip of it for fun. I really never thought clearing it was a realistic option but here we are. Got the stamp of approval from the original band to remake a classic. Pretty rad!”

Authenticity is at the core of Jutes, who has always followed his heart. His intuitive approach and resolute determination are exactly what lifted the singer and songwriter up from a small town in Ontario, Canada. Young Jutes grew up an only child on a 300-acre farm, soaking up the sounds of Red Hot Chili Peppers, OutKast, and Ludacris, and trying his hand at basketball, then film school, then finally, lucky for us, music.

Now settled in L.A. and having amassed over 20 million global streams from his debut EP and early singles, Jutes is continuing to refine his sound, an emotionally intense fusion of hip-hop, alternative rock, and pop. In the process, heߣs earned love from outlets like Alt Press, Apple Music’s Beats1, and Flaunt Magazine, and a number of high-profile spots on Spotify’s prestigious New Music Friday playlist.
