NALIYA × TAY MONEY

Rising producer, songwriter, and singer Naliya flexes her vocal prowess and intricate production skills on the carefree new single “Trippin,” out today via Immersive / Sandlot / Interscope Records. On the nostalgic track, the pop phenom slips effortlessly through each verse, inviting no-nonsense Texas rapper Tay Money along for the ride.

“Trippin” (Immersive / Sandlot / Interscope Records) by Naliya ft. Tay Money is available now at all digital retailers HERE

While Naliya has always packed her music with a punch, she ups the ante on “Trippin.” “Boy, I know I make you weak,” she sings, “Don’t you know that I’m a freak?” An inventive producer, she underscores her intimate message with a silvery sax loop and weaves together contrasting vocal tracks over bold percussion. “I keep ‘em trippin’ on me,” Naliya boasts.

Tay Money then brings in another level of confidence, sliding in with fast-flowing ferocity as Naliya keeps her cool throughout. “Trippin” ft. Tay Money is Naliya’s first new release of 2022, following a definitive year that included her Interscope debut, “Handshakes,” along with electro-pop gems “Roller Coaster,” “Whatever,” and “Le Ciel”—all of which have received critical praise, including a feature in UPROXX’s “Best New Pop Music This Week” roundup.

ABOUT NALIYA:

Naliya personally touches every element of her music. Behind a desk running Ableton Live by herself, she’ll conjure up a beat before picking up a pen to write lyrics and finally grabbing a microphone to bring the production and words to life. Raised between Canada and France, the Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer architects an unfiltered and undeniable take on pop warmed by handcrafted beats and lyrics so intimate they could be a DM.

During a Shark Tank-style Instagram Live hosted by powerhouse songwriter J Kash [Maroon 5, Charlie Puth, Selena Gomez], she shared a composition and landed a deal. With Kash in her corner, she co-wrote Jason Derulo’s “Lifestyle” [feat. Adam Levine] and Tate McRae’s “Rubberband. After amassing nearly 6 million streams independently and quietly cooking up songs for industry heavyweights, she formally introduces herself on a series of 2021 singles and her forthcoming debut EP to be released via Immersive / Sandlot / Interscope Records.

ABOUT TAY MONEY:

In just over two years, Tay Money, the Athens-born, Dallas-based rapper has racked up millions of views and streams thanks to her witty punchlines and unique musical approach. Her debut song, “Na Na” marked the beginning of her career as an artist and set the tone for the originality that she would bring to the rest of her records to come. Within months of her first release, she was selling out shows in Dallas and had gained a cult-like following among her listeners (now dubbed Tay Army).

With her bouncy trap beats, unmistakable Texas twang, and unapologetically catchy rhymes, Tay began to reach commercial success with her breakout song “Trapper’s Delight” in 2018. With what was originally a risky move to expand her music outside the limits of her hometown of Dallas, the video for “Trapper’s Delight” amassed over 1.1 million views in under two months. Since then, she’s continued to release many more viral hits including “Bussin” (11 million YouTube views), “Bussin 2.0” with Saweetie (7 million YouTube views), and “Brat” featuring Mulatto, two of which are on her recently released EP, Blockedt. The widely acclaimed project led to many defining moments for Tay, landing spots on coveted playlists including Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’, ‘Feelin Myself’, and ‘Release Radar’ as well as Apple Music’s ‘The Plug’ and ‘New In Hip Hop’. The project also received praise from FLAUNT who hailed her as “one of the biggest women rappers in Texas”, SPIN who noted that she was “one of the biggest women rappers in Texas”, and ELEVATOR who named her their February cover star. Now, with the cosigns of some of the biggest up-and-coming female rappers, and having surpassed the milestone of over 100 million U.S. streams, Tay plans to build on her momentum with more music coming soon.
