After topping the U.K. Official Singles chart for a nearly unprecedented seven weeks, Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in its 24th consecutive week on the tally and the first No. 1 single from a debut U.K. artist since February 2016.

In addition, “Someone You Loved” is No. 1 on the U.S. Top 40 Radio chart for the second week running, spent 2 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot AC Radio chart, No. 1 on the U.S. Shazam chart for the eighth consecutive week and hit top 5 on the U.S. Spotify chart. Worldwide streams of the track are approaching two billion. The 23-year-old Scottish singer-songwriter recently performed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”  He made his U.S. late night television debut on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in June. The following week, he performed “Someone You Loved” on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and, in a first for the show, Corden invited Capaldi back to perform for a second night in a row. Capaldi recently wrapped a sold-out headline tour of North America and his March 2020 tour of the UK and Ireland sold out in mere seconds, making him the first artist in history to sell out arenas prior to the release of a debut album. Full itinerary can be found here.

Capaldi’s debut album, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, is the fastest selling UK debut of 2019 with 90,000 albums sold in the first week. To date, it has sold over 1.5 million adjusted albums worldwide and combined global streams now exceed 2.6 billion.

Earlier this month, Capaldi released the four-track Bruises EP, which includes the album version of “Bruises” plus a Live Orchestral Version, a guitar acoustic and the Steve Void Remix. Watch the official video for “Bruises” HERE. After Capaldi self-released “Bruises” two years ago, he became the fastest unsigned artist to reach 25 million plays on Spotify.

Robert Christgau, reviewing for Noisey, awarded Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent an A- and hailed it as “a feat of uncommon emotional intelligence.” The Los Angeles Times says, “Capaldi uses his powerful chest voice to reach the cheap seats. In the weathered grain of his singing, you can hear a performer capable of turning pain into beauty.” Stereogum declares, “Capaldi is establishing himself as a Stateside force…sending shivers down millions of spines whenever he switches into performance mode,” TIME says, “Lewis Capaldi has the kind of deep, textured voice that you could listen to for hours,” and the Associated Press raves, “Capaldi’s album (hits) you in the gut with piercing lyrics anchored by his gravelly voice…packed with emotion and passion.”

Capaldi was hailed as a 2018 Vevo DSCVR Artist To Watch and a 2019 Vevo LIFT Artist, longlisted for the BBC Sound Of 2018 Poll, and won Breakthrough Artist of the Year honors at the Scottish Music Awards. He was nominated for the BRIT Awards Critics’ Choice award and named an MTV UK PUSH Ones To Watch artist. Capaldi has toured with Ed Sheeran, The Killers, Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man, Niall Horan, and Sam Smith, and performed at such festivals as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Firefly, Mountain Jam, Splendour in the Grass, Fuji, and Osheaga.
