By: Vaughn Lowery

Harlem’s Dave East invited 360 MAGAZINE to a private listing experience for his highly anticipated release of HDIGH – How Did I Get Here. We locked ourselves in small private rooms while we listened with Urban Fetes headphones. Soon after, we washed down bites from BK Lobster with specialty cocktails by Jack Daniels and Tres Generaciones Tequila shots.

Around 10 PM, The rapper now actor (Wu Tang: An American Saga) surfaced on the 13th floor at Dropp TV for the celebration.  A sea of supporters showed mad love for the story told by David Lawrence Brewster Jr.

HDIGH is an anthem for young people struggling in the streets of New York. With provocative lyricism and exceptional musical production, this EP is solid. Dave East will become an international artist. No wonder Super Bowl half-time acts as Mary J. Blige recruited him as a collaborator for Rent Money.

Another highlight of the evening was a spotting of filmmaker Coodie Simmons from Kanye’s Jeen-Yuhs inside a Hot 97 interview booth.
