Things to Consider Before Disembarking into Financial Investments

Before you embark on any financial investment, you must evaluate your financial situation. It would be best to determine how much you make every month and how much spare cash you have available. Also, consider your financial goals and risk appetite. Once you know your present financial condition, you can set aside a certain amount for investment. You may want to consider trusted Perth SMSF accountants for additional information or assistance.

Evaluating your current financial condition

Before embarking on any financial investments, evaluating your current financial situation is crucial. Looking at your future goals and determining which investment options fit best is also essential. For example, you may want to save for retirement or pay for your child’s education. You may also want to purchase a vacation home or a new car. A rule of thumb is to have savings that cover three to six months of expenses.

Evaluating your investment objectives

When deciding to invest your money, it is essential to identify your investment objective. This helps you determine which types of assets you should buy. It would be best if you considered how your investment objective would affect the returns you get, your risk tolerance, and your time horizon. This information will help you make the best decisions for your money. All financial investments and OKX exchange carry some risk, and the outcome is always uncertain. It is, therefore, essential to determine your investment objectives to ensure that you receive the best recommendations. Financial professionals will ask you questions to learn more about your financial situation and your investment objectives. These questions will also help them better understand your risk tolerance and the urgency of your financial needs. Once you’ve identified your investment objectives, the next step is determining how much risk you can bear. Identifying your risk tolerance will allow you to avoid emotional investing mistakes. If you have a high-risk tolerance, you should be able to afford more risk. Then, you can build a portfolio around your investment objectives.

Evaluating your risk tolerance

When it comes to financial investments, evaluating your risk tolerance is a crucial first step. Although it sounds straightforward, knowing your level of patience can take time and effort. For example, you may think you can withstand losing money but then feel differently once you experience a loss. This is when you should consider taking a test. Many free tools will help you assess your level of risk tolerance. Several of these tools will offer questionnaires that you can complete online. Depending on your answers, these questionnaires can generate estimates of your asset allocation. While these results may be helpful as a starting point, they may also be biased toward certain financial products and services. Risk tolerance questionnaires usually ask about your age, liquidity needs, and risk capacity. While this information is helpful, it is essential to note that objective and subjective elements of risk tolerance should never be averaged. This would lead to overestimating personal factors and reduce the usefulness of objective measures. Before embarking on a financial investment plan, it is essential to determine your goals and risk tolerance. This step can be done alone or with the help of a financial professional. Once you know your objectives and risk tolerance, you can begin managing your money in ways that will increase your financial security over time.

THE LAST AVENGER STANDING

Right now, in the pages of Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa’s AVENGERS, fans are witnessing Earth’s Mightiest Heroes ascend towards an uncertain destiny! Entangled in the grand machinations of Kang the Conqueror’s quest for the “Missing Moment,” the Avengers are facing off against an interdimensional group of villains called the Ashen Combine. These deadly nihilists and their Impossibly City headquarters represent only the first of the Tribulation Events, a series of large-scale disasters the Avengers will have to overcome to prove themselves worthy of a responsibility beyond measure! When the dust settles on this epic battle, the Avengers will assume command of a new base of operations in an effort to ease the heavy burden they’ve committed to. Their journey is just beginning and with each explosive issue, the full scope of Kang’s agenda will reveal itself to the Avengers and readers alike…

MacKay and Villa will pivotal into their second arc on the title in November’s AVENGERS #7. The Avengers defend the world – but they are beginning not to recognize the world as their own. But Avengers never fight alone- and the most dangerous Avenger joins the conflict!

On his approach to the team’s epic clash against the Ashen Combine, MacKay told CBR in the latest installment of Earth’s Mightiest Spoilers: “It’s less about ‘stretching themselves too thin’ than it is about showing that the Avengers are the ones who have to step up when something like the Ashen Combine hits the world, even when it’s on disadvantageous footing. The Avengers don’t always have the luxury of assembling, and when you protect the entire planet, you’re going to have to make tactical decisions as to how to apply your strength. Because the Avengers’ strength isn’t solely limited to them standing together. The other side of the coin is that they’re a collection of powerful, experienced heroes whose reach is planetary and can deploy simultaneously against concurrent threats. Is it a challenge? Of course, it is. But the Avengers exist to be challenged and to triumph over those challenges.”

Peter $un Announces Forthcoming EP 3PIECE via 360 MAGAZINE.

Peter $un Unveils EP 3PIECE

Rapper, producer, and vocalist Peter $un today released his first project in a year on Red Bull Records/Mind of a Genius. Aptly titled, 3PIECE, the EP spans three tracks for every mood this summer, packed with bouncy flows and addictive basslines. The EP single, “PERFECT TIMING” takes a simple yet confident approach in its slow burn, highlighting Sunny’s knack for bona fide rhymes and laid-back grooves. Virginia-born and California-based, he effortlessly blends the best of Richmond’s beat scene with the brighter tones of Los Angeles hip-hop, flexing his range of influences that have cemented him as a crossover tastemaker.

Sunny shares, “One of my favorite anime shows is ‘One Piece’ so the project is somewhat of an ode to it as far as the art direction. The overall vibe I wanted was for people to just feel good and dance. I think it shows the different aspects of life and phases that all people go through. It’s a little something for everyone.

Sunny’s soulful roots and love for jazz are evident in the attention to instrumentalism and melody across his tracks, earning fans in everyone from Zane Lowe toRuss. Following his last record Phone Calls Gimme Anxiety, which saw him work through the loss of his brother, he returned this year with a renewed sense of creativity and optimism, kicking the package off with his upbeat house-inspired single, “MY FAVORITE DRUG.”

Next up, Sunny’s live rendition of the EP track, “BURN LIKE FIRE” will debut via SpringHill’s coveted “On Site” YouTube series, giving rising artists a platform built by LeBron James and Maverick Carter. Later in September, he’ll partner with Red Bull Media House and award-winning nonprofit Ghetto Film School to unveil $unny Daze, a short film directed by Lexx Truss, a burgeoning LA-based filmmaker under Red Bull’s Establishing Shot mentorship program which aims to amplify and support diverse storytellers. Sunny’s mini-documentary will pull back the curtain on his creative endeavors, the making of 3PIECE, and the infectious lust for life that he brings to his community.

3PIECE Tracklist

1. BURN LIKE FIRE

2. MY FAVORITE DRUG

3. PERFECT TIMING

ABOUT PETER $UN

Peter $un commits all of his emotions, thoughts, and truths to tape. He never holds back. The Richmond-born and Los Angeles-based rapper, vocalist, and producer confronts his trauma, discloses his ambitions, and embraces his potential over a soundtrack of future-facing hip-hop laced with eloquent jazz-style instrumentation and filled to the brim with undeniable soul. As a kid, he fell in love with music. Dad worked late and often returned home around midnight. However, he would put a four-year-old Sunny on his chest and listen to jazz on the radio as his son slept. Eventually, mom introduced Sunny to D’Angelo before he discovered Tupac on his own. He initially gravitated to sports, playing basketball and excelling on the baseball field. In high school, a friend recognized he could sing and encouraged him, so he picked up a mic. He gained traction with the 2016 mixtape Paradise Is A Day Away. Joined by producer and longtime collaborator Blue Rondo, he unveiled Don’t Forget To Smile in 2018. The project boasted “Love Drunk Lust (Make It Hard)” [feat. Trip Carter & KnottRudy], raking in 6 million Spotify streams and counting. 2021 saw him unveil Scumbaby, including fan favorites “Work” and “Sometimes.” Inciting widespread tastemaker applause, OkayPlayer hailed it as “an introspective exploration of rap fused with jazz and soul,” and KAZI crowned him “a creative music force.” After generating tens of millions of streams and earning acclaim from Ones To Watch, Lyrical Lemonade, DJ Booth, and more, he bleeds without filter on his 2022 EP, Phone Calls Gimme Anxiety out on Red Bull Records/Mind of a Genius.

Andrew Hendel talks about catfishing while using online dating apps via 360 MAGAZINE.

Beyond Catfishing

Unveiling Scams and Deception in Online Dating and How to Avoid Them

By Andrew Hendel, Founder — Marshmallo

Remaining vigilant on dating apps is crucial in today’s world, as falling victim to a romance scam can have catastrophic consequences. According to the US Federal Trade Commission, nearly 70,000 people reported a romance scam in 2022, with the reported losses totaling a massive $1.3 billion.

If you don’t want to be the unlucky victim of one of those scams, it is important to practice online dating safety.

Why online dating safety is important

The first step in staying safe on online dating apps is to understand how scammers can attempt to defraud you. By being educated about their methods, you are less likely to fall prey to scammers.

Here are a few common ways that scammers target victims on dating apps:

Catfishing

One of the most well-known online dating scams is catfishing, in which a scammer takes information and images from another person and uses it to create a fake profile. Bad actors have used this method for all sorts of nefarious purposes to trick people into interacting with them when they otherwise would not.

Romance scams

People often use fake profiles on dating apps as part of an elaborate romance scam, where they try to get money out of unsuspecting victims by convincing them that they are in love and need money for an emergency, or even a plane ticket to visit them.

Advance fee fraud

Similarly, scammers sometimes use fake dating profiles to conduct advance fee fraud. The scammer will flirt with users and convince them they are interested in them, only to ask them for money for some sort of fraudulent service, a “business opportunity,” or something else they “need” money for.

Phishing

Believe it or not, scammers can also use dating apps for phishing. By talking to someone through a dating app, scammers can often break down their victims’ defenses and have them share sensitive information that can be used for nefarious purposes.

Blackmail and extortion

Scammers can use fake dating profiles to gather materials and information for blackmail and extortion. Convincing a user that they are romantically interested in them makes it easier for scammers to convince them to send sexually explicit messages or photographs, then blackmail them using these materials.

Identity theft

By sending information over dating apps, users can also make themselves vulnerable to identity theft. These stolen identities can then be used to further perpetuate dating app scams by giving scammers more information to use in their catfishing efforts.

Bots

Some more advanced scams have even begun using tools such as bots to defraud unsuspecting victims. These bots mimic the patterns of realistic human speech to convince users that they are real people, meaning they can defraud their victims without much effort.

Unfortunately, scammers are improving the processes of their schemes to the point where their scam profiles can often be indistinguishable from a real profile. A good rule of thumb is that if something feels askew, it probably is.

For example, if a person asks for money, chances are they aren’t authentic. If they’re over-eager — or on the opposite end of the spectrum, completely refusing to video chat or constantly canceling meetings — be wary. Never fall for something that seems too good to be true.

Luckily, there are some steps that dating apps can take themselves to help create a safer environment for users.

Methods to protect dating app users

Mandatory identity verification on dating apps is one solution to help prevent wrongdoers and fraudsters from taking advantage of unsuspecting victims. Although some apps — such as Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge — offer identity verification options, these are optional, not mandatory, meaning people could still be lying about their name, age, and identity. The only way to protect against fraudulent users on dating apps is through identity verification using a government-issued photo ID.

Because a person’s identity is not verified on these apps, there is no way to know whether the users are criminals or sex offenders. Statistics show that 1 in 10 sex offenders have a profile on a dating app. Not only do these dating apps allow sex offenders to register and use the app, but they also can’t prohibit them from using a fake name. However, when an app uses identity verification from a government-issued ID, users’ names can be checked against several publicly available registries for sex offenders.

Dating apps must also institute better protections when it comes to unwanted messaging and harassment. Although most — if not all — dating apps offer “block” and “report” features, by the time the situation is escalated to the point where someone needs to be reported, someone has already been made uncomfortable. By limiting the number of messages a user can send without reciprocation, dating apps can prevent individuals from being pestered with unwanted communication before they interact.

There are also improvements that must be made in terms of the privacy options and filters that allow users to determine who sees their profile. While some are beginning to allow greater control over certain characteristics, blocking phone contacts from seeing your profile, or even a full-on “incognito mode,” there are limitations to each of these features — and they almost all exist behind a paywall. To be safer and more comfortable, dating app users must have greater control over their experience.

Until these changes are made, people will continue to fall victim to these dating app scams.

Picture of innovative Dr. Trotter who has been learning more about burnout.

The Realities of Burnout

As modern medical care has burdened physicians with ever more administrative tasks and the need to transition to digital medicine and the electronic health record, medical scribes are an ever more important part of efficient, quality patient care. Scribes offer a real solution today to the increasing burden of data entry and review, not to mention clinical documentation, felt by today’s health care providers. The pandemic has forever changed the way we balance our work and personal life, leaving many stressed, isolated, and uncertain on how to continuously thrive. The World Health Organization (WHO) has added burnout — defined as a syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress — to its official compendium of diseases. Emotional exhaustion is now the most common outcome that health workers are reporting after years of being on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Trotter is an industry expert on physician burnout, working in recent years to understand the magnitude of the impact burnout has had on medical providers and to develop strategies and techniques that can immunize healthcare providers  against burnout. He’s even introduced the Japanese concept of “Ikigai” – the secret to happy, balanced living to Western healthcare. Through these efforts Dr. Trotter has empowered healthcare leaders  to pilot their teams with empathy and emotional intelligence, especially in medical and emergency situations. By teaching these leaders to respond to crises with creativity, agility, and sympathy he has proven that these strategies allow caregivers to thrive.

Dr. Elliott Trotter, M.D. created medical scribing in 1995 while working as an emergency medicine physician in Fort Worth, Texas. Today, Dr. Trotter is working to connect pre-health students with busy emergency medicine doctors through ScribeNest – a new company that creates amazing opportunities for these students to be mentored in their future careers while improving patient care. Dr. Trotter can provide expert insight and commentary into:

  • How to navigate burnout in an industry that deals with life and death on a daily basis.
  • Why the conditions of health workers can be compared to a war zone from a mental health perspective.
  • What the major work-related stressors are for health workers and how they operate.
  • How health workers can develop severe long-term mental problems from stressors or being overworked, and ways to do your job, happily, and avoid this trap.
