LOUIS VUITTON

Louis Vuitton will exclusively present their iconic Objets Nomades limited-edition collection of travel-inspired furniture created in collaboration with international designers during Design Miami/ – December 4-8th. The Objets Nomades collection is emblematic of Louis Vuitton’s long tradition of intersecting craftsmanship, innovation and design to craft beautiful travel-inspired objects. Louis Vuitton’s unparalleled savoir-faire paired with the discerning eye of renowned designers results in experimental shapes, materials and products that are unique, functional pieces of art.

At Design Miami, Louis Vuitton will introduce the first American designer to the Objets Nomades collection: the innovative San Francisco-based designer Andrew Kudless and his new piece, Swell Wave Shelf, that will be launching as a global exclusive in two versions. Kudless new piece features undulating, smoothly polished oak shelves- flowing forms that resemble rocks eroded over time – that are held in perfect tension by rich leather straps.  Swell Wave Shelf is an elegant addition to the collection and an ode to the powerful forces and the delicate balance of the natural world.

In addition to Andrew Kudless as a new designer and his new piece, institutional Objets will be launched in new colorways for the first time: the iconic Campana Cocoon in sunrise rose-yellow and Marcel Wanders’ Diamond Arm Chair, Sofa and Venezia GM et PM all in white. Pieces from the Objets Nomades collection have been imagined by some of the most creative designers of our times including, Atelier Oï, Maarten Baas, Barber and Osgerby, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Raw Edges, Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders, Tokjin Yoshioka, Nendo, Gwenaël Nicolas, India Mahdavi, and André Fu.

LOUIS VUITTON

Louis Vuitton presents from its Objets Nomades collection in the pavilion of Design Miami/ 2017 from December 6th to 10th, an exclusive turquoise-colored edition of the Bomboca Sofa, a new piece by Fernando and Humberto Campana.

Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades is an ever-expanding collection of limited-edition, collectable furniture, which is inspired by the House’s historic Art of Travel, while reinterpreting its essential spirit. Driven by creativity, functionality and innovation for more than 160 years, Louis Vuitton has constantly anticipated fashion and kept pace with evolving lifestyles. This combination of the House’s savoir-faire and the talents of renowned designers has created inventive shapes, materials   and products – a tradition that continues with the Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades.

The Bomboca Sofa, named after sweets served at weddings and children’s parties in Brazil and meaning “very good”, is a modular piece that was originally inspired by cloud shapes and colourful round sea apples. The result is like a puzzle in which eight removable cushions are arranged in a rigid, leather-covered shell. The sofa features the same leather that is used by Louis Vuitton for its bags along with cushions made of textured fabrics and velvet in five different shades of blue and turquoise.

Other Objets Nomades making their Design Miami/ 2017 debut include the pieces created by Atelier Oï such as the Swing Boat, the Belt Chair and the Spiral Lamp with its twisted straps of leather. Also presented are Patricia Urquiola’s Palaver Chair in a mix of wood and woven sheets of perforated leather, India Mahdavi’s Talisman Table in leather marquetry, and Marcel Wanders’ rocking Lune Chair and leather Diamond Screen. A selection of Objets Nomades will also be visible at the Louis Vuitton Miami Design District Store.

With their shared sense of intuitiveness, desire and pleasure, the Objets Nomades continue Louis Vuitton’s tradition of offering inspiring and surprising designs anchored in evolving visions of travel.
