Scottish artist Lewis Capaldi releases his debut EP Bloom today on Capitol Records. The EP is available for download and streaming HERE. Listen to Capaldi’s new EP track “MercyHERE. Bloom also features his new single, “Fade” which he co-wrote with GRAMMY award winner Malay (Frank Ocean, Sam Smith, Zayn Malik), who also produced it. The song racked up over one million streams in the first week alone. Capaldi’s previous track “Lost On You,” was included in Spotify’s New Music Friday in over 20 countries, while his debut “Bruises,” held the No. 1 spot on the playlist and has amassed over 28 million total streams globally. A stripped-down ballad that looks back on a failed relationship, “Bruises” showcases Capaldi’s nimble vocal ability, as he effortlessly slips between smooth baritone, gravelly mid-tone, and haunting falsetto with pinpoint accuracy.

“I picked the guitar up at nine, started writing songs at eleven and then was gigging from 12 onwards. I mean, they were awful songs, but it was fun. I was always trying to get in places, playing at pubs. I’d show up and try and blag my way in. I’d have to hide in the toilets and then jump out and do my set as quickly as possible before anyone knew there was a 12-year-old in the pub,” says Capaldi, 20, who was recently nominated for a Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at the Scottish Music Awards. From then on in Lewis devoted every spare moment he had to writing and performing. Playing gigs in Glasgow, Edinburgh and anywhere he could find a receptive audience, he was constantly working on songs, finding his voice as a songwriter and honing his craft with unwavering dedication. All the while developing the rough-around-the-edges vocals that would make those songs soar.

Hailing from the small town of Bathgate, outside of Glasgow, Capaldi sold out two headlining shows at Glasgow’s famed King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and embarked on his first UK headling tour, which sold out in minutes, before any of his music was officially released. He will tour Europe this fall with Rag’n’Bone Man, followed by his second UK sold out headlining tour in December. Capaldi will also tour the U.S. and Canada with Milky Chance in January.
